Hotshot: Here it is! Now, I have a question...should I keep Guilmon as the Digimon partner or should I choose another Digimon?

Summary: My name is Sota Kamiya and this is how I met my first Digimon along with my Brother, Tai, and my twin sister, Kari.

Chapter 1

Everyone use to tell me that there was no such things as Monsters when I was a kid. I found out at a young age that the saying isn't true. There are Monsters, just...not the ones You'd think. My name is Sota Kamiya, I am the younger brother of Taichi "Tai" Kamiya and the twin of Hikari "Kari" Kamiya. We met our first Digimon while we were young, prior to our actual adventure in the Digital World. Tai was about seven while I and Kari were four. Our First Encounter begins late one night...

...I slowly opened my eyes when I heard Tai shifting on the top bunk before starting to climb down the ladder, though he almost tripped on the way down before he headed out to go to the bathroom most likely. I just shook my head, closed my eyes and rolled over, expecting to feel the warmth of my twin beside me but I didn't. I opened my eyes and, to my surprise, I saw that Kari was nowhere to be seen. I sat up, my short, brown hair a mess, and rubbed my eyes as I looked around the room.

"Kari?" I called out before yawning. When there was no answer, I climbed out of the bed and padded out of the room. I looked around before noting a red light that was coming from our father's computer room, which was strange. No one suppose be in there this late at night. I walked over and peaked in and I could see Kari standing there, looking up at the monitor. I walked over to her and looked up at the screen and I could see red and green ones and zeroes flashing.

I could vaguely hear Tai flushing in the bathroom and the door being shut but paid him no mind.

"Kari? Sota?" I heard Tai call from the door. "What are you guys doing here? You both know you aren't suppose to be playing with the computer."

"But it's doing something weird." Kari stated back, her eyes never leaving the monitor. The numbers moved closer together before making an Oval-like shape.

"Egg..." I mumbled as I continued to stare at the screen.

"Egg?" Tai echoed in confusion.

The egg shape began to stretch out of the monitor, growing a brighter and brighter red, lighting the whole room with a red hue. It continue to stretch, becoming brighter and brighter and-

"Tai!" I heard our mom call out as I pushed through the haze of the lingering, strange dream. I heard Tai move above before he climbed down the ladder as he let out a yawn.

"What a weird dream. A computer egg? I gotta stop watching scary movies before I go to bed." I heard him mumbled.

"Tai, I have to go out for a little while! Take care of Kari and Sota!"

"Mom- mom wait! I was going to go play soccer with-"

The door closed, interrupting him. I heard him let out a 'aw' in disappointment as I slowly stretched and opened my eyes, staring up at the ceiling for a moment. I glanced at Tai and noted him staring at something beside me, so I looked. I was surprised to find that Kari was hugging the egg that came out of the computer last night- looks like it wasn't a dream after all.

I rubbed my eyes and then gently shaking Kari away before we following our older brother out into the kitchen, Kari holding the egg tightly the whole time. Kari gave the egg to me as Tai helped her into her high chair. I gave it back before letting Tai helped me get into mine.

"I bet you this is gonna taste a lot better than your egg." Tai said as the sound of sizzling food filled the air. Kari answered with a whistle, still half asleep.

"Anyways, why don't you leave that back in bed, isn't it in your way?"

Kari let out another whistle.

Tai jumped off of the chair he was on to reach the top of the stove. "Hey, I know what we could do. Lets use it as a soccer ball!"

That got Kari fully awake as she whistled loudly at him as he set a plate on the table. "Sorry, sorry, I'm just kidding. Here, go ahead and eat."

He went back to the stove as Kari reached forward to grab the pink sippy cup. I watched as the egg fell off her lap and onto the floor. When she noticed, she started to look for it under the table. I could hear Tai talking but ignored what he was saying. When she looked behind her and slipped out of her high chair, I decided to follow suit. She went to grab it but it slipped away from her rolling away until it found its way into our room. Kari and I quickly went after it before we stopped in the door way and watched as the egg stood straight up.

"Kari- Sota- where you guys go?" I heard Tai call out but neither of us said anything. I heard him hurried over to us to see what we were looking at. "What, what- what?"

We held our breath, watching the egg before a crack appeared in it. The top of the egg pushed up and all we could see was this black furred thing with round, yellow eyes staring over at us. "Blup?"

"Oh, it's cute. Come here little baby." Tai cooed and it took the invitation. It launched out of the eggshell and right at Tai, latching onto his face and making him let out a muffled yelp. This caused Kari and I burst into laughter as we watched Tai tugging at the black creature, who I decided to call Kitty Ears, until it jumped off of him, zooming around the room for a moment before going under the bunkbeds. "Kari, Sota- stay away, I-I'll protect you!"

Kari and I ignored him and ran over before we peered under the bed. Kitty Ears stared back, letting out a small, defensive growl. Kari and I laid down so our heads and shoulders were under the bed and Tai eventually joined us, making me be squished between them.

"Okay, hold still..." I heard him say before he took off the goggles that were around his next before throwing it at the creature. The goggles hit their mark and Kitty Ears let out a startled yelp before it blew out bubbles, which hit Tai and sending him flying back. "What the-?!"

Kitty Ears stared at Kari and I as we stared back for a long moment before Kari blew through her whistle. Kitty Ears let out a burst of bubbles in response. She whistled twice and it let out two burst of bubbles this time around. They continued on like this, making the room fill with bubbles, some eventually finding their way outside.

"It's...taking a bubble bath..." I heard Tai stated from behind us but I paid him no mind as I just watched as Kitty Ears and Kari continue to interact.
