Sup guys? Time for another story. This one about Battleborn. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Battleborn, Gearbox and a few others do.

The scavenger continued to move across the battlefield once more. His weapon strapped across his back as he continued across it again. He was quite curious when he spied a piece of loot which caused him to sprint to it with childlike glee.

"Need I remind you that the last recipient of this will be most displeased?" The scavenger heard and looked to the side.

"Need I remind you that if we need something, we should take it?" He questioned as he hummed and cracked his fingers to the side. "The more we take? The more we get to keep back on the ship. We need as much scrap metal as we can scrape together at the moment." The scavenger stated as he put his hands on his hips.

He knew very well that the voice in his head made him question what was going to happen next. There were several people laying on this battlefield, several of which were victims and killed by him.

"Yes, well that doesn't really change the fact that you killed several of them." He heard which caused him to shake his head as he turned to look to the side.

"They tried to shoot me first… So, I kinda had reason to shoot them to begin with… They were going to shoot me first." He pointed out as he turned to look at the field. "Plus, they belong to that evil overlord who's trying to stomp out all the stars." He pointed out as he sighed and straightened up.

"That doesn't exactly qualify them for death, Lord." He heard which caused him to roll his eyes.

"Yes, and without our homeworld? I don't exactly qualify for 'lord' of anything at the moment." He muttered to himself as another gunshot caused him to turn. He had his rifle up and in his hands a moment later.

It was silent a moment as he turned to look down the scope of his weapon. He straightened for a second and then turned to look to the side.

"Perhaps we should depart before more hostiles appear." The scavenger heard as he turned. "We need to engage or depart. There is less options I can see then that." The voice added which was greeted by a roll of the eyes.

There was always going to be other options and he knew it. He didn't base it off of predictions and data like the voice did. Data didn't keep people alive, it only helped predict what can or couldn't happen.

That helped show him that more was going on then he thought, however. He couldn't think of anything but he did know moving was the best option.

And that was what he did. He moved to another piece of cover, a piece of snow that he hid behind. He swept his rifle across the snow, trying to find the source of the gunshot. He sighed and rubbed at his temples once more.

"Are you sure you heard anything at all?" He heard which caused him to shake his head again. "I don't see anything at the moment." He questioned as he leaned his rifle against the rock.

He knew for a fact that there problem was someone lurking around that he couldn't see. It wouldn't surprise him at all, every single person on this planet fought each other. It was a free for all over resources, food, fuel, guns.

He started to remember this was a supply mission for a moment. The tension was dragging him out of whatever trance that he had put himself into.

He sighed and shook his head while rubbing at his temples once more as he looked around the battlefield. Whatever challenge he faced would be at the end of this road and onto the next. He was startled by another drone which opened fire on him.

"Well, seems like today is going to be a little bit more interesting…" He muttered to himself once more as he steadied his rifle once more. "Seems like that data might be a bit more accurate when it comes down to it." He stated as he aimed down the barrel of his weapon.

"This is not going to be a fun day." He added to himself and shook his head.
