The Deer Night Summer Dreams

Once on a sunny day, a deer sat near the Babbling Brook, peacefully napping. It was just an ordinary day. Normally Sprint would be active, but lately he's been feeling a little tired and not as playful as he normally is. Playing and racing was one of Sprint's favorite activities, but today was not the day. Danessa walked to where Sprint was. She's been worried about her friend for a few days.

"Sprint, are you doing any better?" she asked him. Sprint rested his chin on her lap and sighs "No…" the deer said to her and fell asleep again. This caused Danessa to look into her books and see what caused Sprint to act like this. She stood up and picked Sprint up holding him in her arms "Don't worry, I'll see if I can find what's causing this" she kissed the top of Sprint's head. She proceeded to walk to her office and placed him down on the bed.

A knock was heard as Danessa turned her head to see one of her dear friends, Sage.

"Oh hey Sage" she smiled weakly at her friend. Sage noticed how Sprint and Danessa were acting "Hey, what's wrong Danessa?" she asked as her companion Casper looked over to see her friend in a down mood. Danessa sighs "I'm not sure Sage, he's been like this for a few days" she folded her arms. Sage walked over to where Sprint was resting "Maybe our new song will cheer him up" she suggested getting out her guitar. Danessa bit her bottom lip softly "I'm not sure… but, if you think it might work" she said.

Sage smirked "Get ready to ROCK!" she shouted as the Skunk and her friend started playing rock n roll music. The music filled the room with its beats and melodies, but Sprint didn't seem to enjoy it. Danessa made a hand gesture to cut the music which Sage did. Sage's ears went own as Casper patted Sprint's forehead "Thanks for trying to help Sage" Danessa told them. Sage placed her hand on her friend's shoulder "Sprint will come around" after that Sage and Casper left.

Danessa closed the door and went back to looking at Sprint "Sprint, please tell me what's wrong. You haven't been eating or sleeping" she got on her knees and was petting Sprint kissing his forehead. Sprint closed his eyes finally going to sleep. Danessa sat next to Sprint with a book in hand. Danessa was reading about different sickness that he may have.

She closed the book and noticed her was in a deep sleep. The deer girl went upstairs and placed the book away. At the corner of her eye she sees something blue coming from under his bed "What in the world?" she got on her knees picking up the bed to see blue creamy stuff. Danessa dip her finger in the cream and sniffed it "Blueberry… cream" she has a feeling who can make stuff like this. Danessa walked down stairs to see Sprint was up and looking down and flop on the floor again.

"Sprint" she picked him up "You're coming with me" she told him "Okay" he said resting his chin on her shoulder. Danessa came upon Bree's house and knocked "Bree, are you in?" she asked. Someone opens the door. It was Bree with her pink hair in place and covered in frosting "Hey Danessa!" she sees Sprint "What's wrong with him?" she asked.

"That's why I'm here" she was a little upset, but not mad. Danessa came in and placed Sprint on the couch "Bree, did you make anything with blueberries lately?" Danessa asked "Oh yes of course!" she chimed happily "Blueberry Frosting, Blueberry Pie, Apple Berry Pie" she kept listing them off "Bree, I know you love to bake stuff for us, but I think you mixed something with the blueberries, Sprint's been eating less and sleeping less" she told her. Bree ears went down "Oh gees I'm sorry Danessa" she told her.

Danessa placed her hand on Bree's shoulder "It's okay, I should have told you to be more wary of berries, some berries look like Blueberries, but they make people sick" she watched Sprint finally sleeping "I'll make an antidote, please watch over him" Danessa left as Bree still felt bad. Twist patted her leg "It's okay" Twist said as Bree smiled. A few hours went by as Sprint was shivering and making painful noises. Bree was panicking wondering what's taking her so long.

Danessa was climbing up the mountain. She had bruises and marks from her trip. She read that on top of the mountain was a rare golden plant that can cure anything. She struggled to pull herself up. She wasn't meant to climb, but Sprint's life was hanging by a thread. She started to pass out, but the small fainted sad pain from Sprint snapped her out of it. After what seemed for days, she managed to climb to the very top and saw the flower. She had a smile on her face.

Danessa grabbed the flower and stood up. The harsh cold winds blew as the sight was breathtaking. Danessa didn't have time to gawk at the sight. The female Deer slide down the mountain like Felicity taught her. She made sure the flower was in her gripped.

Danessa felt the grass under her shoe and ran as fast as she can to where Bree lived. Bree picked up on Danessa's heavy breathing and opens the door to see her "Danessa!" she smiled happily. Danessa skidded across the floor and catches her breath "I'm fine" she walked passed Bree to see Sprint "Sprint" the female was on her knees. "Bree, I need a cup of water and a green herb" she said. Bree nodded and got the items Danessa needed. The female Bunny gave her the items as Danessa placed the petals into the water and used her magic that transferred to the cup making it glow "Sprint drink this" she told him.

Sprint nodded and sipped the drink. He yawns and fell asleep. Danessa let out a sigh of relief. Danessa carried him in her arms "Thanks Bree" she smiled as Bree smiled back. Danessa tucked Sprint into his bed and kissed the top of his head. She sighs and fell asleep. The night went by slowly as all of the citizens were in a deep slumber. The next morning, Sprint was licking her face. Danessa sat up "Sprint!" she was delighted to see her friend. She hugged him "I'm so happy" she was crying as Sprint wipe her tears with his hoof.

The deer Duo started laughing as Sprint was back to himself.
