This story is set in an AU (Alternate Universe). Many parts of the original settings and character development are used within. This is not Cannon. I attempt to enter the mind of the protagonist (Fate Testarossa), using the time gaps within the series to explore Fates personal character development. It is my hope and pleasure that you may enjoy this work of fiction, and a peek into some of my life, as I used (dramatized) memories as various situations that Fate endures.

Part I: Chains of Birth: (Rating: 7T)

Fate starts her new life by being thrown in the Brig aboard the Arthra, as it prepares for it's six month journey back to Midchilda, where Fate will face trial and be judged of her criminal actions while on Earth. Will she have the stamina to persevere through the harsh judgements of the Court, including from friendly acquaintances she's already met, both positive and negative?

Fate now enjoys a quiet "normal" life on Earth with Nanoha, Hayate, and some new classmates she meets. However, will these new friendships be able to survive knowing the hidden truth that Fate tries so hard to keep secret from "normal" society?

Fate has certain special feelings for Nanoha that she can't explain. Nanoha wants to help her friend understand the concept of romance, and possibly love. Will the relationship between two best friends become a permanent or will it tear apart their friendship?

Fate is charged with a brutal crime that she doesn't commit, and faces a biased judgement by somebody in her past with authority over her. Now she must endure a life striped of her magic in the chaotic prison called, SPAM (Special Prison for Aggressive Mages), while the crew of the Arthra attempts to prove her innocence.

While of a top secret black-ops mission Fate walks into a trap and persecuted by somebody she doesn't know. Or does she? In the process of discovering who this person is, she looses her memories and is left as a mental infant. Will her friends be able to recover the memories this person stole, or will she be given a golden opportunity to truly have a new life?

Fate joins a super-secret department of the Time and Space Administration Bureau, known as TRAPS (the Temporal Recovery and Prosecution Service). She is sent back in time, on her 13th birthday to capture a rogue time traveler bent on destroying the Bureau, and perhaps Fate herself.
