"Addie wakes up" As Derek comes close to his sleeping fiancé who didn't even move an inch. He smiles to himself as he stared at her and admired how beautiful was she when she's asleep or just beautiful in general but at the same time she's stubborn, tough, confident, and hard to wake up when she's having her day off and that is those days. He can't believe in just a few more weeks she's going to be his wife and spend their whole life together. Derek had an idea to wake her up without her being mad at him, move closer to her and he starts kissing her when he felt a small movement from her and his hands tracing her left arm and to her waist and the next thing he did caught her off guard he tickled her until she can't breathe. Full of laughter filling the room "come on I made you breakfast." As Derek got up from the bed and move to Addison's side of the bed and hand her his hands, she took it and went downstairs.
As they were eating, they start talking about surgeries that have been performed, part of their med school, and they just laugh until Derek's pager went off and the room filled with silence and look from Derek that says "sorry" she just nods at him as a response, he kissed her, "I love you" "I love you too" as Derek walked towards the door he heard Addison called him "Derek" he looked at her "It's a beautiful day to save lives" he smiled and walked towards her and kissed her and said goodbye to her.
A few days later Addison was at her office and got an email invitation from the Maternal-Fetal conference, it's no brainer if she didn't get an invitation she's one of the best Neonatal surgeons in the world. She looked at the invitation she see that there's a lot of familiar names are invited also then she look at the date it's 3 days before her wedding day, she debated whether to RSVP or just decline the invitation. So she decided to page Derek and talk it out with him, a couple of minutes later Derek come into her office and start talking about his patient who's annoying and rude while he went to her and kissed her and take his seat.
She stared at him and admire him while he talks she's thinking if he'll be mad at her if she wants to attend the conference, he met her gaze and feels that something is bothering him
"Hey, what's wrong?" He asked, a small sigh comes out of her she looked at him
"there's a medical conference that I'm invited to.." a smile form to Derek
"that's great, but what's the problem?"
"The conference is happening 3 days before our wedding" the smile on his face disappears
"I page you here so we can talk about it." Long pause and silence
"So who's coming? Anyone familiar?" Addison stared at him with a questionable look "what?"
"Well if you're coming let's make sure it's worth it. So who's attending?"
"Well" looking at the attending's list "Juan Rodriquez, Jefferson Gruit, Nicole Herman oh and Vivian Carlsmith"
As Derek observe Addison when she announced that the name of her mentor/friend she looked so excited at the same time disappointed "okay, you can go"
"Really? How about the wedding?"
"We have plenty of time besides the wedding plan I think Bizzy can handle it. All I need is to see you walk down the aisle" as he kissed her
"You can invite Vivian too, it's a win-win" then both their pages went off
"Thank you" Addison kissed him for the last time before they went to their patients.

Addison and Derek laying on their bed cuddled to each other ready for bed
"you want me to take you to the airport?"
"No, I'll just take the cab. But thank you"
Then she kissed him and he kissed back, her hands are his cheeks his hand going down her waist, and pulled her closer to him as the kiss deepened they are taking off each other's clothes and moans are filling the room. After multiple orgasms, they went to sleep naked underneath their comforter

Addison woke up hours later she looked at the man she loves kissed him and start getting up she felt the arms that wrap around her tightened
"don't leave yet" he mumbled she smiled
"I have to get ready and packed, you know me when I travel"

A sigh come out from him and turn around her, Addison felt bad
"When I come home I'll be your wife" and she kissed him on the head and hugged him.
He turns around and returns the hug. She thought stayed a little longer till he sleeps. Then slowly she moves away from him soundly asleep, she got ready hair, not a lot of makeup, just mascara, and lipstick. All her things are ready too, she looked at Derek again and left him a noted place on his nightstand and she kissed him goodbye.
45 minutes later Addison was at the airport waiting for her flight. On the other side hours later Derek woke up with an empty bed beside him he sighed he misses her already as he gets up he saw the note that Addison had left
"Good morning honey, I'm sorry you have to wake up with an empty bed I'll make it up to you when I came back okay, I'll call you when I land. I love you -Love Addie"
"P.S it's a beautiful day to save lives"
He smiled and remembered those phrases that she always says to him as good luck, whether they're too busy they never missed to say that to each other.

"Addie it's my first surgery, I'm scared" Derek as he paces back and forth and Addison can't take it
"Derek look at me" with a stern sound of her voice Derek look at her "don't be a coward. You can do this okay, you're going inside that O.R with head high and be DR. DEREK SHEPHERD" as she looked at him without break eye contact "you're gonna save that man, who has a family to go home to" not breaking eye contact Derek kissed her to her surprise but she kissed back and break off when they can't breathe anymore. They smiled at each other and Derek's pager went off, they walked together to the scrub room. Derek finished hand washing and ready to go in when Addison said
"Derek, it's a beautiful day to save lives"
He smiled back to her and went inside the O.R. Addison went up to the gallery to watched her boyfriend's first surgery, Derek looked up and spotted the most beautiful woman in the world and smiled at her under the masked and he took a deep breath and remembered what Addison said to him
"all right everybody it's a beautiful day to save lives"
Derek stopped daydreaming when his pager went off he groan and get himself ready. He didn't take too long to get ready and he went to the New York hospital.
After hours of surgery and patient rounds, Derek stop at the nurse's station to fill some of the patient's chart then he checked his phone and noticed that there's left messages from Addison
"Hey honey, I just landed that flight was terrible and I'm going to complain to the airline about it anyways I'm on my way to the hotel. How's your day? I know you're at the surgery now because you'll answer my call if you're not doing surgery hahaha. I miss you already I wish you're here, well call me when you can I'll just sleep at the hotel. Yes, it's a 5-star hotel. Bye I love you"
He smiled while listening to the voice of his future wife he can imagine rolling her eyes while she complains about her flight.
"Why are you smiling like a crazy person," the man said while approaching him.
"Am I?"
"Yeah and it's creepy" as he leaned his back at the nurse station staring at every woman passed by "let me guess, it's Addison"
"Yeah"
"And?"
Derek gave him a questionable look "and what?"
"Dude you smiled like a crazy person, I know it's Addie and she can make you crazy but that smile looked different. What did she say?"
"She just informed me that she landed a few hours ago and her flight was terrible and" he got cut off by Mark
"And she's going to complain about the flight"
"Exactly"
"Sound more like Bizzy"
"I know" they both laugh Derek stop "don't tell her that," said with a treating voice
"Of course I won't, I love my life" Derek just nod.
"You wanna have drinks tonight?" Mark asked
"Yeah, I got time"
"Wait for me at the lobby later"
They stayed their talked about Mark's new girl or who he has an eye on until Derek's pager went off it's a 911, they bid their goodbyes
Later that evening Derek and Mark sited at the corner of the bar. Derek who's focused on his drink ignoring every woman who flirted with him, Mark on the other hand searching for a girl who he can take home tonight when he looked that no one was worth it, he turned his attention to his friend
"How does it feel to be getting married to the hottest woman in the world?" Mark asked and got a death glare from Derek
"Derek come on, It wasn't a lie"
Derek knew what Mark said she's the most beautiful and hottest woman in the world so he just let it slide on Mark's comment to his fiancée
A loud sigh comes from Derek "what's with the sighed? Is there a problem with the wedding?"
"It's nerve-racking at the same time exciting"
"Nerve-racking? Since when do you feel that? Neither you nor Addison planning the wedding. Bizzy's planning it"
"That's the point Bizzy is the one planning our wedding. Addison and I supposed to be planning our wedding we're the one should be stressing out about every detail these supposed to be experienced by us not her mother, and that's the nerve-racking part." A long paused of silence between them "I just want a simple wedding"
"Well, you don't have to be stressing yourself out. Let's relax we're at the bar full of girls this is going to be your unofficial bachelor party"
The two best friends have fun well Mark most who's having fun. It's late when Derek comes home, he just went straight to their bedroom and lay on their bed, he grabs his phone and dialed a number. After a couple of rings, a voice heard from the other line
"Dr. Montgomery" with a sleepy voice
Derek smiled at the same time he felt bad because he just woke her up
"Hey, beautiful."
"Hey handsome, went drinks with Mark?"
"How did you know? Are you spying on me?"
"Yeah. I hired a spy to keep an eye on you Mr. so tell me now what happened" they both start laughing
"Nothing interesting about my day" she felt that Derek was sad
"Derek what's wrong?" full of concern as she asked him
"I feel so alone Addie. I miss you so much"
"I miss you too honey, don't worry after the conference tomorrow I'll have the first plane out of here okay."
"Yes" excitement is evidenced in his tone
"I'd love to talk and catch up but it's 3 hours earlier here and I have an early call tomorrow can we continue this when I get back?"
"Yeah, good night my love"
"Good night Derek" They both hang up and went to sleep
The next morning Derek has a long day ahead of him but he got this feeling bothering him like something's not great but he just shrugged it off, as usual, got page in the E.R, surgeries that took hours to perform, a little bit of a break before rounding on patients and fill their chart with notes. After finished his work for the day Derek look at his phone another left message from Addison informing him that she'll be coming home. That made Derek panicked at the same time excited he looked at his watch it's past 6 pm he still has time to go home and cook for his fiancée whom he missed so much. He went to get groceries and cooked and set up a table for two, he freshens up and waited for two and a half hour. From his calculation she should be at their home half hour ago, he decided to call her straight to voicemail. He started to get worried about her "what if something happened to her" "I don't want to lose her" that's was all his mind can think of and the feeling that he felt that morning come back.
His pacing back and forth while calling Addison's phone, he looked at his watch it's already 9:30 pm the worry that he felt elevated. Derek tried calling her, again and again, no answer he heard the doorbell rang he quickly open it assuming that was Addison
"Where have you be-" to his shock who's outside his door "Mark what are you doing here?" The looked at Mark's face indicates something's wrong
"Mark, what are you doing here? If you're just going to tell me about your new girl I don't have the time because Addison's" he got cut off by the t.v
"Breaking news: Number 3026 Flight from Los Angeles to New York had crashed. The rescue team are looking for any survivors"
Derek was in shock "maybe she wasn't on that flight. Let me call her again" with a shaky hand he dialed her number again and again until he throws his phone across the living room
"Derek" sound worried tone from Mark
"This can't be. We're getting married, she's gonna be my wife. I can't lose her. I love her so much " he sits on the floor both knees are folded and his hands are in his hair.
Minutes later the phone in the house rang. Mark answered it because he knows what Derek's condition
"Hello"
"Hello, is this family member of Ms. Addison Montgomery?"
"Yes. Who is this?"
"This is from the airline from the plane crash, we're contacting every family member or the emergency contact of every passenger in the plane"
Mark was shocked when he heard the person on the other line
"Hello? Sir?"
"Are there any survivors? Have you found Addison?"
"I'm sorry sir, but the rescue teams are still searching but we will keep you updated if there is progress"
Mark was angry and hurt, and worried for his best friends. He hopes they find Addison soon because he will not just lose one friend he might lose two. He walked towards Derek and told him about the phone call and he had seen his best friends this broken when his father passed away, now he's experiencing this all over again.
"Oh Red, please come home" all he could say.
As soon as the Montgomerys heard the news they didn't think twice and go to Addison and Derek's house. A lot of blaming punches shouting that Archer and Derek throw at each other.
They feel devastated months had passed and still no sign of Addison, the rescue team and the airline gave up for investigation. They announced Addison Adrianne Forbes Montgomery dead. After that day the Montgomerys cut their contact to Everyone that involves Derek.
From that day Derek had been out of himself, he wasn't attending to his patients, not go out of their house. All he did was drink, drown himself with liquor, and thinking that this was a nightmare and the love of his life will come back and knock at his door.
