(A/N: I'm not dead! Decided to raise myself with this new Pokemon one shot! I've fallen head over heels for Butch, and started shipping him with my OC, Venus Wisteria. I've dubbed the coupling "HisuiShipping", and it's become a new OTP. Enjoy! I hope...)

Summary: When Venus Wisteria-Kosaburo takes Mightyena for a walk around the city, she finds a poor, abandoned Skitty, in need of a home. Modern-ish AU.

On a warm, semi-sunny day in Celadon City, a pretty young woman in her 20s was taking a stroll with a Mightyena by her side. A slight breeze made her long, jade green hair fly back; she fiddled with her long bangs, draping them back over her right eye, and adjusted her shorter fringe over her forehead. Her waist-length tresses were accented with black streaks behind her back, along with a Stunky stripe on her emo bangs.

She wore a plain black cropped t-shirt, a pair of black high-waisted shorts with a grey and white printed open-front duster draping down to her ankles, and black suede ruched knee-high boots that made her 4 inches taller, along with her usual large, black retro hoop earrings. A black wedding ring resembling a crown with tiny white diamonds rested on her left hand, as she held the leash connected to Mightyena's harness.

She sneered at any creepy onlookers, as did the Bite Pokemon, as they strolled down the sidewalk. She wore a wedding ring for a reason; she was happily married to Butch Kosaburo, after happy years of dating. Before meeting him and his childhood friends, Cassidy, James, and Jessie, she was nothing short of an ice queen; a lone wolf, with her walls up and impenetrable. She came from a bad background in Lavender Town, and feared getting too close to other people, in fear of losing more loved ones. But when she ran away to Celadon City, and met the group who called themselves "Team Rocket" over their mutual interest in space travel, which she also admired. She quickly bonded with all of them, including Jessie and James' amazing talking Meowth, and grew a crush on Butch, trying to push her feelings away. She had been previously rejected by other dreamboats, and didn't want to go through it again, but Butch was different. Even with his slight arrogance, he was a sweet guy who actually cared about her.

He eventually convinced her to go on a date with him after her stubbornness reared its head, and they hit it off. She was cautious and distant at first, but started to soften up the longer their relationship lasted. After a few years of bliss, he asked her to marry him, and she happily accepted. They had a beautiful wedding with all their friends, then had their honeymoon in Alola, and bought a house just outside Celadon with a yard big enough for their Pokemon, and future children, to play in. Her walls ultimately came down, taking her iciness with them, and she became a much happier girl. Though she was still tough, snarky, and sarcastic, even snappy at times, she let her inner sweetness take over after hiding it. Her dark emerald green eyes usually showed kindness, instead of contempt. But she still exploded over any comments regarding her 5′1″ natural height; it had been a sore spot for as long as she could remember.

She glanced at a beautiful ivory fountain nearby, and turned to her companion. "Let's take a little break, Mighty." She sat on the ledge with Mightyena in the grass close by, letting her legs rest. When a middle-aged man tried to sit too closely, a flash of her ring, and a menacing glare was enough to drive him away.

Venus was about to send Butch a text with her RoPhone, and ask if they needed anything from the market, when she heard a strange squeak. "Hm?" She looked around, as Mightyena's ears were perked up. "What's that?" It sniffed around in the grass, as she mentally scanned the area. Nothing out of the ordinary. Except…

She looked at where the trees lined the area, and found the source of the noise: a tiny Skitty, appearing dirty and malnourished, overall uncared for. It was curled up at the tree trunk, looking scared and sad. "Aw." Venus felt her heart swell with sympathy, as she kneeled down in the grass. "Hey there," She said softly, "You okay, little guy?" Skitty mewled pitifully. "Bad trainer, huh? People like that make me sick; they're scum." She held her hand out for the Kitten Pokemon to sniff, but it stayed put. "It's okay; We won't hurt you. You can trust us." Through PokeSpeak, Mightyena confirmed her promise; Skitty slowly stood up, and came closer to the girl. It sniffed at, then rubbed its head against her fingertips. Venus giggled lightly, and scratched its head. "You're so sweet, and so cute. Who wouldn't want you?" Skitty mewed happily, as she petted it. "I bet you're hungry, huh?" She took out one of the Poffins she made for hers and Butch's Pokemon, and held out her hand to it. Skitty sniffed at, then happily ate the tasty treat. She giggled at its happy, fuller meow. "Food feels better, doesn't it?" She glanced over at the massive Celadon Department Store, remembering that they just opened a Pokemon grooming salon. "Here, let's get you cleaned up; you'll feel even more better. Come here." She carefully picked Skitty up in her arms; it was squirmy and frantic at first, but managed to relax, and let Venus escort it to the tall, six-story building.

After a few minutes, the trio came back out. Skitty was now squeaky clean, and feeling quite refreshed, as promised; Mightyena was treated to some pampering as well, courtesy of its female master. Venus led them out, and they headed for a nice, two-story house, where she and Butch currently resided together. "Don't worry, Skitty. My husband's going to love you; and definitely let you stay with us." The pink and yellow Pokemon meowed, as she walked. She couldn't help but feel nervous; would Butch really let Skitty live with them? He was pretty much wrapped around her finger, but he had limits; she had brought up adopting more Pokemon in the past, and was shot down.

Maybe Skitty will be an exception? She hoped so.

Back in the Kosaburo residence, Butch was relaxing in a maroon t-shirt that brought out his matching-colored eyes, a pair of black basketball shorts, and white Converse high-tops with red laces, after finishing some house chores, waiting for his wife to come back home with Mightyena. He hoped it would be the only Pokemon she would come home with. They had his Mightyena, Hitmontop, Primeape, Shuckle, Cloyster, and Aggron; plus her Zubat, Duskull, Misdreavus, Shuppet, Driftloon, and shiny Roselia. That was enough for him.

He was startled out of his thoughts by the Handstand Pokemon whirling all over the place like a tornado, knocking over a metal pot from the cabinet. "Hey, hey, Hitmontop!" He ran over, and stopped its spinning. "What have I told you about spinning in the house?" He scolded it like a parent to a misbehaving child. "I know it's fun for you, but you could knock something over, or get yourself hurt." He escorted it to the back door. "Here, go spin outside." Hitmontop gleefully did just that, dodging the in-ground swimming pool, and fire pit.

Butch smiled in amusement, as he shut the door, and returned to the couch. He and Venus were talking about having kids one day, but with their Pokemon, it felt like they already did. He patted Zubat's head when it flew over, and landed close to him on the couch. The blue bat suddenly turned to the door, with its ears perked up; that meant Venus and Mightyena were back. He opened the door, expecting the two of them out there; but instead of seeing his wife's pretty face, he saw a Skitty, as it mewed. Oh boy.

She lowered the tiny creature, so he could see her eyes. Great; she was giving him the Growlithe face. Crap. "Can we keep it?" She cradled Skitty to her chest. "I found it abandoned by the fountain; I fed it a Poffin, and took it to the new grooming salon to get it cleaned up. Please?"

Butch hesitated. Trainers abandoning and mistreating their Pokemon made him sick, but they couldn't take all of them in. "V-V, we… we already have a lot of Pokemon as it is. And our property isn't very big."

"What's one more?" Venus insisted. "Skitty needs a home, and I know it'll like it here. Plus, it's already bonded with Mightyena." She lowered Skitty to Mightyena's level for a moment, and the former snuggled its head in the latter's neck fur, before being raised back up. "Please?" She held it in front of her face. "Can you really say no to this face?" She gave him pleading eyes again, as Skitty meowed cutely.

He mentally cursed her for being born with such beautiful eyes, and himself for getting soft. He loved his wife with everything in him, but he wasn't going to let her walk all over him. Although he had to admit; the Kitten Pokemon really was adorable. And she was right in Mightyena already taking a liking to it; it seemed to be giving him sad eyes as well. Butch sighed heavily, feeling himself give in. "Dammit," He cursed under his breath, "Alright; Skitty can stay here."

"Yay!" Venus cheered, as Mightyena grinned with excitement. "Thank you!" She stood taller, and gave her husband a kiss on the lips. "You won't regret this!"

"But if we find more abandoned Pokemon after this, we go to Cassidy and Domino, or Jessie and James," Butch put his foot down, as he removed Mightyena's leash and harness, "I mean it."

"Deal!" She nodded, her smile not fading. "Come on, Skitty; I'll show you around, and introduce you to everyone." The grey and black Pokemon followed the petite girl, as she started the tour of the house.

Butch sighed again, as he flopped on the couch next to Shuckle. He pushed his jade green bangs back from his face, then lowered his hand, and turned to the yellow and red turtle. "I'm getting too soft, aren't I?" Shuckle nodded its head in confirmation. "I bet you'll like Skitty, huh? Just don't get used to new roommates, got it? This is the last one." Shuckle nodded again. "Good." He patted its head.

"Hey, Hitmontop, Driftloon!" Venus walked outside to the yard after scaling the second floor. "We got a new friend! Come meet Skitty!" Butch hid a smirk, as he heard the two Pokemon interact with the newcomer. Maybe keeping the little creature won't be so bad after all.

Later that night, after everyone was inside, and they had some dinner, Venus changed her clothes, and snuggled up to Butch on the couch, giggling at "Funniest Pokemon Home Videos" on the TV, with Skitty curled up in her lap. She now wore Zubat slippers, matching black printed pajama pants, and a solid black t-shirt from his closet. It was baggy, and almost reached her knees, but she was comfortable. The silver ring he wore on his left hand glistened with hers under the ceiling light.

A cute video featuring a baby and a friendly Arcanine played next. She blushed when Butch wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "That'll be us soon," He commented, and kissed her head.

"Yep," She smiled.

"But no Arcanine," He quickly added, making her giggle, "Or Growlithe."

"Yeah, yeah," She snickered, and gulped down some cola, "Thanks for letting Skitty stay with us. It's happier already." Skitty was sniffing at Mightyena, who had its head rested in Butch's lap.

"Yeah, you're welcome. It is cute, and needed a home."

She smiled when he tenderly petted the purring pink and yellow feline's back. "You love Skitty," She playfully taunted.

"Don't push it," He smirked.

She giggled. "'Kay. Sorry, Biff."

He felt irritated at that, but hid it. He had called himself many different names as a child for some reason, and his friends regularly used said names to address him for a joke, and she had quickly joined them in the fun. He shifted his head, and whispered in her ear. "It's Butch."

Venus burst into giggles at that, surprising Skitty. "Just kidding, Butch." They shared a kiss for a few seconds; he could taste her pinap berry-flavored lip balm.

After a while, she had fallen asleep with her head on his shoulder, the TV now playing a different show. He held her close, and rested his cheek in her soft hair, letting it mingle with his own. He smiled down at Skitty; it really was cute. When it mewed, and pawed at Venus' chest and ribs, he gently guided it away. "Shh, let her sleep. Come here." He let it lay in his lap, and petted its pink fur. By now, Mightyena was peacefully asleep on the floor by his feet. "I, I hope you'll like it here. No, I know you'll like it here," He changed his words, "All the Pokemon already like you." He then yawned, feeling drowsy himself. "Let's go to bed." He turned the TV off, and Skitty bounded on the floor, and scampered after him, as he carried Venus bridal style upstairs to the bedroom.

As Skitty investigated Mightyena's large bed, Butch laid Venus on the solid navy blue bedsheets. She adjusted herself to a more comfortable position, though stayed asleep; when she felt Butch lay close by, she immediately snuggled into him, her head nestled at his neck. He smiled, and held her close, one hand on her back, and the other in her waist-length hair. They may have had their arguments, mostly from their respective tempers flaring up at bad times, but they always came through, and made up. They would always love each other, no matter what.

He turned around when he heard shuffling at the foot of the bed, and saw the kitten climbing over the ledge to join them. He smirked, as it bounded over, and curled into a ball in between its new parents, at his chest, and her neck. "G'night, Skitty." As it mewed, he kissed the top of his wife's head. "G'night, V-V." Their foreheads were almost connected, as he let his eyes close to drift off.

The Kosaburo residence was peaceful, and quiet for the rest of the night.

(A/N: Yay, my first Hisuishipping fic! And my first Pokemon fanfic in forever! 😂 I hope Butch is in character! 😅 I was inspired by vladlen4i 's adorable Neoshipping art (on Tumblr) to include Mightyena in the plot.)
