Barry was in his lab look pale and tired. He had been up all night again. Rebuilding the city, working on Gideon's coding and doing flash stuff. He doesn't remember when the last time he slept in the past month was. He was out of the Calorie bars as well. So he was quickly becoming dangerously thin as he never really had time to eat anymore. Not like anyone noticed or cared. Iris blamed Barry for Eddie's death, Joe was angry at Barry for coming out as Gay, having claimed to love Iris to hide the truth. Caitlin and Cisco got new jobs and left having finally had enough with the danger. He had watched the video Eobard left and now was the owner of all star labs and Harrison Wells property and anything else under those names. His father was out of prison but left Central quickly. So he was alone, over worked and in pain as he no longer had the caloric in take to heal quickly. Speaking of he felt he reopened a wound and was bleeding through his shirt.
"Shit" Barry muttered tiredly and went to grab his advanced first aid kit. He was about to strip off his shirt when his Captain walked in.
"Fuck Allen what the hell happened your bleeding."
Barry had no energy to bother giving a shit if his Captain saw him injured.
"I'm fine. I was just about to clean it up."
David rose an eyebrow and studied his face.
"Well lets see the damage then."
He sighs and strips his shirt off revealing he had lost weight and was covered in cuts, bruises and neatly done stitching.
David could count the mans ribs for fuck sake.
He sets to work clearing away the blood from the re opened wound. Fully aware of the horrified stare of his commanding officer.
He prepared the needle and thread before beginning to stitch himself up.
David was both sickened and impressed but the fact Barry used nothing for the pain yet made no sound.
"Allen what the hell happened."
"Glass window."
"Huh?"
"I went through a glass window."
"How the hell?"
Barry shrugged "It happens. I get hurt fairly often. Normally better at hiding that."
"Barry you look like you were beaten to near death. Your pale. I can count your ribs. You have bags under your eyes that even the most dedicated detectives cant achieve. What's going on."
Barry didn't answer as he finished up.
"Look Captain. I've been dealing with everything myself just fine for the past month. Not like you ever really cared before. So just do yourself a favor and stay..."
Barry would have hit the ground had David not caught him in time. He fainted, David was going to call the hospital until he felt Barry's body literally vibrate for a moment.
'Holy shit Barry is the flash! But what the hell happened to him? Sure he has been sighted rebuilding the whole city but doesn't he have a team, someone to make sure he doesn't end up working himself to death?'
David was sure he was going to get answers, and he couldn't help the guilty feeling in his gut at Barry's words.
'Not like you ever really cared before.'
In his effort to avoid his feelings for Barry because of Rob he actually made Barry think he didn't care about him at all. That he couldn't trust him. God he felt like an asshole.
He calls Rob.
"Rob get to the CSI lab in the station we have an issue and I'm going to need your help."
Rob rushed over, when he entered he gasped in horror at the sight of David holding on to the beat and battered CSI he had always talked about, who he had only met once. The man looked half dead.
"What happened to him."
"I'm not sure, I cant take him to the hospital Rob."
"Why?"
Barry groaned his eyes fluttered open.
"Oh hm passed out again huh."
"Allen I know why I can't take you to the hospital, I trust Rob, may I, so we can help you."
Barry winced and was going to decline their help but he realized he was having trouble moving.
"Given I can't actually move very well, I don't much have a choice. Hi Rob I'm the flash. Now if you can get me to star labs that would be great. But ah shirt first."
Rob blinked in shock before carefully helping the boy into a shirt.
They managed to get Barry out without anyone noticing anything off and rush him to star labs.
Once in the cortex they hear a voice.
"Welcome back Barry Allen."
"What the hell was that?"
"Gideon Full body scan" Barry ordered after he laid on an odd metal table.
"Mr. Allen, Extreme Dehydration, Starvation, Malnourished, eighty-five percent of body wounded. State critical." Barry rolled his eyes.
"Gideon critical is a bit extreme, I'm still walking and talking."
"Well Mr. Allen if you actually took the time to eat or drink more then once a day, or slept at all in the past week."
"When did I program you with a personality again" Barry muttered. David and Rob looked both worried and amused.
"Um Gideon is it?"
"Yes Captain David Singh".
"What does he normally need for his health?"
"Ten thousand Calories minimum, more if he uses his speed more then normal."
"So with all the work he has been doing around the city?"
"About thirty thousand calories."
David winced 'Barry was killing himself.'
"Where is his team and family?"
"Only Mr. Allen knows that".
"Gone as they should be. Iris blames me for the death of Eddie, Joes pissed at me for pretending to be in love with Iris to hid the fact I'm gay, Caitlin and Cisco couldn't take the danger anymore and left also I think Caitlin blames me for her husbands death. Understandable their deaths are my fault."
"How?"
"That I can answer, Mr. Allen thinks he is at fault because Harrison wells was really Eobard Thawn from the future who came back in time to kill Mr. Allen as a child so he never becomes the flash, future Barry saved the child version and in a fit of rage Eobard Thawn kills Nora Allen, changing the time like so Barry does not become the flash, as a result he gets stuck in the past, So in order to return he took the place of Harrison Well and created the Particle Accelerator early and blew it up to forcefully create the flash. Later as Eobard was killing Barry for destroying his way home, Eddie Thawn, Eobards ancestor shoot himself erasing Eobard from the timeline. But the rift in time created the black hole in the sky. Barry ran up into the eye of the black hole to reverse the rotation and shrink it. But they needed a power surge big enough in the center of the worm hole to actually close it. Firestorm which is made up of two individuals fused into one. One of them was Dr. Snows husband. Separated in the eye of the worm hole. The power generated from the split sealed the black hole. As Barry and the other half was falling Barry saved the man but Dr. Snows husband was no where to be found."
Barry was silent as Gideon told the story.
"That was not on you Barry that was on the Bastard that tried to kill you."
"Come on we are taking you to your home so you can recover properly."
"You already did Captain."
David and Rob glared at Barry.
"Barry please tell us you don't actually mean you are living in the lab!"
Barry gave a defeated shrug.
"Not welcome at Joe's, had no time to go looking for an apartment or house. Easier to just stay here."
David and Rob share a look and nod.
"You will be stay with us."
Barry blinked in confusion "Why? Never bothered to care before Captain. I'm just the nobody CSI".
"David...why does he think that. You talk about him enough, I thought you two were friends."
David winced and Barry rolled his eyes.
"Trust me I tried to be friends with the Captain. His response was to mostly avoid me. So eventually our only interaction became him yelling at me for being late and me handing in reports."
"David!"
"Yeah yeah I already feel like an asshole enough ok. Still Barry you are staying with us, we are not letting you slowly kill yourself anymore."
Rob helped Barry pack while David asked Gideon more medical questions about caring for the Speedster.
Once they arrive at David and Rob's home they set Barry up in the spare bedroom. Barry remained in his new room to sleep for awhile. While Rob started on Dinner.
"David can you tell me the truth, Why did you avoid Barry? You talked about him like he was friend."
David sighed knowing he would have to tell Rob the truth.
"I love you, but had I started developing feeling for him. But I still do love you completely and we are married. So I avoided him and hoped the feelings would go away."
Rob gave a gentle reassuring smile.
"I had a feeling that was the reason."
"Huh?"
"David a boss and even a friend doesn't talk about the other, the way to talked about him. How kind hearted he was, how adorably awkward he was, how smart he was. It was like a school boys first crush."
David turned red and looked away awkwardly making Rob chuckle.
"I met Barry only once really."
They hear a throat clear and turn to see Barry.
"Twice technically but then that was a different timeline."
"Come again?"
"I met Rob for the first time before you two were actually married. Its when I learned you didn't hate me completely. Apparently you complemented my work a lot." Rob snickered at that.
"Granted we did not meet under the best circumstances. You see it was when Weather Wizard..um Mark Mardon was after Joe. He attacked Joe at the precinct but you pushed him out of the was of the lightening blast. Getting hit in his stead. I arrived soon after. I had a choice to make. Get you to the hospital or capture Mardon so he was no longer a threat. I chose naturally to get you to the hospital. It was waiting for news bout you as Barry, that I met Rob. He was crying and I was trying help him feel better. My natural instinct when someone is upset I suppose. Though I wasn't much better. Joe and Eddie were every level of pissed. But the worst was when the doctor stated you may never walk again. Sure I was pissed and Rob was crying but let me tell you Joe and Eddie, were idiots. They went to the hide out, without back up, Joe gets ripped through a window according to Eddie. Joe was handcuffed and forced to watch as Mardon summoned a wave to kill me and Iris and wipe out half of central city. To stop the wave I was running faster then I ever had back and forth along the coast to create a wind wall. Naturally something happens and I find myself twenty four hours in the past. When evil Wells who was still my mentor and unknown to being my enemy. Found out I was from the future he warn me. If I didn't do everything exactly the same. Let the events play out. Time would find a way of punishing me for it. However I couldn't allow what happened to happen. So I stopped Mardon before he ever left the hide out. The original events erased from time."
"But you were punished...how?" Rob asked hesitantly.
"Have you noticed I only ever stall Captain Cold until the police arrive, but never capture him myself?"
"I have".
"That is because he learned who I was behind the mask. So we made A deal, he doesn't kill or tell anyone who I am, I don't personally arrest him."
"And that was the price for saving David and Central city."
"Yes, a price I'd gladly pay again. I don't regret it. I did what needed to be done."
Barry and David sit down on the couch while Rob finishes dinner.
"So Barry, What all can you do, you know when you are not slowly killing yourself."
"Phase though walls, run, catch bullets, heal fast when you know I remember to eat. Immune to drugs and alcohol."
"Any negative effects?"
Barry turned bright red "I um... a few. The only ones I saying is the fact pain killers don't work and my body is um...tactilely reactive to stimuli."
David looked confused and Rob laughed.
"He is saying his body is sensitive to touch as well as pain."
"Basically Injuries are a fuck ton more painful for me then it would be for you. However over time I developed a rather high pain tolerance."
"But that also means your sensitive on the other end of the spectrum right?" Rob teased and Barry turn red.
"There are a few um awkward Sid effects of my powers. There is a reason a can't um...date someone who doesn't know my secret."
"Really what's that."
"Captain how did you figure out I was the flash?"
"When I caught you, you...oh..."
"What David?"
"He vibrates."
"Do to my rather sensitive body, that will happen if I'm either knocked out, but it only happens for a second. Or if I'm..."
"Worked up?" Rob finished for him and he nods.
"Dead give away then."
"Yes".
"What's the other negative?"
Barry was the color of his flash suit and given how bad of a condition he was in that was an impressive feet.
He mumbled his response.
"Sorry what was that?"
He repeats a bit louder but still the two couldn't hear him.
"One more time?"
"Zero Refractory period" Barry snaps awkwardly and looks away.
Now both Rob and David were red and shared an awkward glance.
"Oh um look dinners ready." Rob stated with a clearing of his throat.
Dinner was a very quite affair and after Barry went to go back to sleep.
It was the weekend so the Couple spent it, helping Barry recover. Even going as far as to track Cisco down and demand the recipe for the Calorie bars Barry needed while not telling the man anything about Barry's condition because in David mind if they left him to deal alone then they don't deserve him.
Once Monday rolled around Barry was fully healed and had regained his healthy weight.
They of coarse had a crime scene. A robbery where the store clerk was shot.
Joe steps up to Barry fuming.
"What the hell Barry, where were you last night. You should have been there to stop this."
He growled.
David over hearing stepped between Barry and Joe.
looking at Barry.
"Barry, Rob and I where wondering if if you wanted to get lunch with us after we finish up here".
"Sure love to David."
"Oh Detective West, I apologize did you need Barry for something."
"No Sir, Was just asking Barry where he lived now. Since he moved out."
"I don't believe that is any of your concern Joe."
"I'm his father."
"Who abandoned him for his other child. So you lost the right to inquire about him."
"He lied for years about being in love with Iris!"
"That is actually quite normal. When one fears the reaction from family and friends. Which judging from your current behavior, Barry had every reason to worry."
Joe storms off in a huff.
"Thank you David."
"Of coarse. Now then, lets get to work, Rob will kill us both if we are late."
Barry chuckled and nods.
Another few weeks pass and Barry began to feel attached to the two, they now helped him as his new team as well. He was worried though because his feelings for David where growing rapidly and he was now developing feelings for Rob as well.
It was while David and Rob sat in bed that Rob asked David a very hard question.
"You love Barry don't you David."
David winced "I do, but I wont act on it, as I love you Rob."
"David calm down You see I believe I am starting to fall for the man too. I'm thinking, maybe if we can get him to agree."
"a triple?"
"Yes".
David and Rob smirk and begun planning how to get their wayward Speedster.
They started small. Instigated random supposedly accidental light touches. Watching movies together every night after flash stuff. Randomly appearing in only towels when getting out of the shower. They even started working out together with Barry. They noticed Barry looking when he thought they weren't paying attention. Noticed the shutters and the several sneaky readjustments. Barry felt like he was going to lose his mind with in a week of this new behavior and just jump one them. The building tension snapped when David and Rob accidently entered Barry's room with out knocking and Barry had just stripped down to change. All three froze. Barry then noticed David and Rob what staring at his body very intently.
Barry decided to take a chance.
"Problem?"
"N...no"
"No problem".
Barry smirked and turned toward them fully making both swallow.
"If you like the view why don't you do something about it" Barry teased. To his pleasant surprise the two rather quickly surrounded him. Taking turns kissing Barry while they both were getting familiar with Barry's tone body. The feeling of the two against him made him moan into the kiss with David.
Soon enough the two men stripped as well. Before the three made love for the first time together.
The next morning Barry awoke between the two who seemed to be waiting for his reaction.
"So you two going to explain why you were trying to drive me insane?"
"Well David, he has had romantic feelings for you for quite a while and as I got to know you, I developed feels as well. So we decided if your ok with it. That all three of us can be together."
"I have had feelings for David for A while and I quickly developed feelings for you as well Rob. I'd be happy to be with you both if you truly want me."
David kissed Barry soundly.
"very very much so."
Barry smiled as before Ron pulls him into a kiss as well then Rob and David share a kiss which was rather quickly getting Barry very ready for another round.
"Though With me being your boss. This may be difficult."
"David you are aware I am rich right. I own star labs and all the patents tied to Harrison Wells and Star Labs. I will do more good as the flash then as a CSI and plus I have a new invention in the works that will save quite a few lives. So that wont be an issue."
"You thought this out didn't you?"
"You two have been driving me insane for a week. I have super speed, one second to you feels like a hour to me. I think fast and I think a lot."
"I love you both very much" David stated happily.
Rob and Barry glance at each other and then smile at David.
"We love you too" they say in unison making David chuckle.
He knew then that everything would work out just fine. After all he had the two most amazing men in the world with him.
