The world is shrouded in darkness. A young boy in a green robe finds himself tired, barely able to move even a single muscle.

All he sees is a pair of glowing white eyes. The being they belong to steps forward, revealing its bulking, purple, boar-like form. If these details weren't enough hints towards the identity of the monster, the tattered black robe, the golden trident and the long, red strands of hair should be. This beast is the combined form of Yuga and Ganon, appropriately named Yuganon, whom the boy faced in past, but still fears.

Yuganon was one of the few enemies Hyrule had to deal with, that threatened not just one, but two worlds. Due to just how fierce this creature is, both Hyrule and Lorule almost fell.

At this moment he realizes that he was experiencing the same nightmare again. The monster used to be just Ganon himself, although he didn't know that back then.

Adding to this sight, the boy hears a twisted laughter. Using the little strength he had left, he turns around to see a witch hovering above the ground. Her name is Lady Maud and she is a unique danger. Her sorcery may not be strong, she definitely wouldn't stand a chance against the magical capabilities of the boy's predecessor, the Hero of Legend, but she is smart in how she uses it.

Just by cursing one jumpsuit to make it irremovable, she turned a beloved princess into a shut-in and put the entire kingdom of Hytopia into a state of panic.

The boy even needed the help of two additional heroes to take her down, how would he do it alone while also dealing with Yuganon and being so weakened that it hurts to stand?

As the two closed in, he shuts is eyes. All he hears are the short screams of the two princesses, Zelda and Styla, who were threatened by these foes. He had failed them yet again.

Link, the so-called "New Hero of Hyrule", wakes up in a cold sweat. He has long lost count on how often he had to deal with this nightmare, but it wouldn't stop disorienting him.

Judging by how dark it is, it is still nighttime. However, even without being able to see much, he still knows that he isn't at his home, as the bed is way more comfortable than his own. As he thinks of getting up to assess his surroundings and maybe find out where he is, Link realizes that a weight is on his body. He wants to shove it off at first, but then notices just how familiar it is to him. He also notices that it isn't just one weight, but two, with one on each side of him.

His eyes are slowly getting used to how dim the light is, allowing him to notice that it's not just any two random weights, but it's actually two people! Judging by the fact that they didn't react to him waking up and their quiet breathing, he assumes that they are still asleep.

He uses his regained sight to look around, he sees a massive closet, some drawers, some shelves, a table, potted plants, paintings on the wall and many other things. Putting everything he sees together, Link realizes that he is in a bedroom. And with the disorientation fading away, he recognizes the place. He is in Zelda's bedroom!

Remembering who he went to bed with yesterday, he looks down at the people laying on his sides. He still can't see much, but he starts to recognize their hair and facial features. On his left, he finds the princess of Hyrule, Zelda, who is roughly his age, but definitely more mature. On his right is the princess of Hytopia, Styla, who is a little younger than both of them and definitely acts that way.

Upon seeing that it is the two princesses who are by his side, the hero quickly calms down. The presence of these two always soothes him, no matter how troubling his current mental state is, a problem all of Hyrule's heroes seem to share. That is probably part of the reason why the trio is in their somewhat unique relationship.

They both partly lie on his body because the queen size bed they sleep on isn't quite big enough to give all three of them enough room for themselves, which they very much use as an excuse to cuddle every night they spend together.

Having his environment cemented in his head again, he tries to return to his slumber.

After he finds himself unable to fall asleep again, Link starts to think about his situation. He feels like he is pretty lucky with his current relationship. He doesn't just have one, but two princesses his feelings are reciprocated by. While he doesn't truly believe he deserves their love, he is very happy about receiving it.

While on this train of thought, he decides to take a trip down memory lane and look back at the relationships he has with both of them individually.

First, Zelda. Zelda is… special, to say the least. Link could go on and on about how pretty he thinks she is with her wavy and almost golden hair (he swears that it glows sometimes), her blue eyes and the positivity they shine out or that adorable smile that always brightens his day, but those are mostly nice accessories to the other things he truly loves about her.

Sadly, he met her through poor circumstances. Seres, one of the Seven Sages, was turned into a painting by a stranger and he had to notify her. Their talk was brief and he was immediately sent to warn Sahasrahla in Kakariko Village, but he quickly took a liking to her and she even gave him a charm. Turns out, said charm wasn't just a kind gift, but the Pendant of Courage, which he would need on his quest, showing just how much she thought ahead.

Sadly, she could only help him and not herself, as that same stranger, Yuga, turned her into a painting too, alongside all the other Sages. Eventually, he got into Lorule, a parallel universe version to Hyrule, and, long story short, met an alternate version of her called Hilda who saved his life. He then had to go through dungeons spread all over the land. Between those, not just Hilda, but also Zelda herself telepathically communicated with him, allowing him learn more about both.

After being done with the dungeons, Link saved Zelda and they both got sent back to Hyrule, only to end up in the Sacred Realm, both being allowed one wish by the Triforce. They decided to restore Lorule's, as it would need one to rebuild. After that, she was so kind to let him live in the castle and, although he refused that offer, he spent quite a bit of time with her afterwards, allowing him to notice some more interesting personality traits of hers.

For one, her aforementioned maturity. Whenever he has a nervous breakdown, as you do, she will be the first to speak to him calmly and ground him in reality, giving him positive affirmations as well. He has noticed his mental health greatly improve in the time they've been together, his impostor syndrome showing itself less and less over time. The hero still hasn't figured out how to properly repay her, but whenever he asks Zelda about it, she shrugs it off, laughs a little and says that he has done enough.

But despite that maturity, her shelteredness rarely fails to shine through. Link and later on also Styla even had to actively show her the joy of living alongside the townsfolk, not separated from them. Her curiosity frequently got the better of her, resulting in Hyrule's princess often running off, just to see what's going on. Even with the Pegasus Boots, Link often exhausted himself running after her to ensure she doesn't get lost. She also made him realize that he has a weakness for puppy eyes.

The next thing he thinks of is her part of the Triforce. Wisdom. Although her age is very close to Link's, he often feels like she knows more than most of the elderly ever could. She was also the first of the trio to realize the fact that Link is polyromantic and that his heart was with two people instead of just one, which she promptly talked to him about, leading to Styla joining their relationship.

He doesn't know how she became such a person, but he assumes that it must at least partially be because of her duties as Hyrule's only monarch.

Smiling at his memories with Zelda, Link decides to look at the other princess at his side, Styla. While he does really believe that Hyrule's princess is pretty, he also agrees to everyone's assessment that Hytopia's is quite possibly the most beautiful person of this planet. Every time he looks at her face, his crush only gets stronger. He still doesn't fully understand how her hair can remain so perfectly fluffy under all circumstances or how those eyes always manage to outshine the sun or-

Link stops his mental rambling before he loses himself.

Although, there's one thing Link has to admit. He didn't have the highest opinion of her at first. He was on his travels outside of Hyrule and hears that another kingdom is in trouble, then comes to check out the situation and finds out that the princess completely isolated herself just because of a jumpsuit she couldn't take off. While he wrote her off as completely vain, his heroic spirit still made him help, as the people were panicking over it.

But then he found out that she wasn't as one-dimensional as he thought. While she still hid away most of the time, sometimes he found her in the town. Eventually, he got curious and approached her. That lead to a conversation where she tried to cheer him on and thanked him for his hero work and then ran off. It was not much, but he realized that her mind wasn't only focused on looking nice.

Not long after that, Link found himself in front of Styla's room. She seemingly knew he was there and asked him to talk a little, even if it was through the door. He found out that even the townspeople stopped wearing the clothes they wanted and grew wary of being fashionable, afraid of also getting cursed. She hid herself because she didn't want to make matters worse for everyone. The hero saw the pressure for what it was and decided that he misjudged the princess. These talks became more of a regular occurrence over his adventure and led to her coming more out of her shell. A few times, she even let him enter her room when they were talking, allowing him to get a good, long look at her.

Even in that onesie, he quickly developed a crush on the blonde. Later on, once the curse was lifted and he saw what she really looked like, he felt vindicated. But then it developed beyond physical attraction.

Link stayed a little after his adventures due to some festivities he was invited to. Styla used the chance to properly thank him, and spent time with him in preparation, allowing him to get to know her better.

She has a very bubbly personality. Most of the time there is a big, shining smile on her face, which is seemingly contagious, as Link also often has one around her too. She often gives a hearty laughter from herself, is a constant beacon of positivity, gives the best cuddles and many other things.

Styla is far more childish than Zelda, although he wouldn't want it any other way. When the mood is down, she will quickly do her best to get it back up, for one. However, she is also quite impulsive, leading to her sometimes leaving the rest of their trio behind to run into a tailor shop and try a bunch of outfits on. More than once has that led to both Link and Zelda explaining to her that there are none of the size of the ones Hytopia has in Hyrule, their heart breaking at Styla's dampened smile.

She is also a bit of a troublemaker, playing pranks on any possible victim she comes across. One time, she drew a beard on Link as he was sleeping and although that didn't get much of a reaction, she was certainly enjoying herself. Sometimes, she hides his sword and shield, forcing him to stay home on a day he wants to explore the wild a little. He always tries to get them back, but she somehow found out of his weakness to puppy eyes, making him stay. She makes it up with her cuddles every time though, so he can't stay mad at her.

How did she get that way? Link thinks it's because she's more in tune with her people, allowing her to lack the almost unapproachable aura royalty sometimes seems to have, but he can't say for sure.

Smiling, as his nightmare is long forgotten, Link decides to go back to sleep.

"I love you, my two princesses." He whispers.
