Long time no see ! This is just a little thing I cooked up for y'all. Enjoy!
Han Solo, the pilot who crowed that he was the best because he did the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs, was in trouble again. Well, it didn't really impact me. I was his ship, the Millenium Falcon; the ship that used to belong to Lando Calrissian, and was won in a game of Sabacc by my current owner. He usually got into things like this, being in the smuggling business and all. At least he had his best friend, Chewbacca, to help him out.
Currently, Han is negotiating with the slimeball Jabba the Hutt, the alien he was working for currently. Jabba mentioned something about Han killing a person named Greedo. That sounded like him, quick to draw his gun. Jabba said that Han couldn't make any exceptions. The human insisted he'd pay off his debt. Jabba slithered off, saying that it was Han's last chance.
After that, a young blonde, old man, and two droids entered the docking bay. One of the droids was a little astromech, the other a glimmering golden protocol droid. The younger human looked slightly disgusted upon seeing my old, or as I call it, vintage, exterior. My semi-faithful pilot assured him that I was upgraded, and one of the best ships out there. The droid, old man, blonde youngling, and droids boarded me.
Suddenly, or as expected, Imperial stormtroopers entered the docking bay, shooting. If you didn't know, stormtroopers are the almost-mindless foot soldiers of the Imperial military. Of course, they missed my gleaming hull. They were probably here to arrest someone on me, maybe the old man and the blond teenager. Han and Chewie managed to maneuver me out, thereby saving me and my passengers.
But ,the trouble didn't end there.
Two Star Destroyers were on our tail! Wasn't that a bit much, I internally asked myself. Han inquired if the droids and humans were of special interest to the Empire. Chewie quickly made the lightspeed calculations. I took my passengers into hyperspace; we were safe for now.
Time has passed while we were in hyperspace. And humans got weird when they were bored. The old man had given the younger boy a helmet that covered his eyes, and the young man was training with a laser sword and a little droid that shot out laser bolts! The blonde had to use the laser sword- or a lightsaber, as the older one called it- to block the shots that the droid was shooting WHILE he was practically blindfolded! Why didn't people be more mindful of their surroundings? The lasers could damage the floor and the wall!
Han said that he didn't believe in the force that the older man was talking about; he thought it was all fake. The old man didn't listen, he just sat very still with his eyes closed. Surprisingly, the younger man managed to deflect four laser bolts in a row! I was very surprised, he had only started learning the ways of the lightsaber. The trainee took off the helmet, and looked like he had realized something.
One of my sensors alerted my passengers and I that we had reached our destination, the planet of Alderaan. Hold up- where was Alderaan? We were just in an asteroid belt! Surely, it existed... Surprisingly, Han confirmed that we were in the area of the planet, but it wasn't there!
The old man muttered something about the Empire destroying Alderaan. Han, in his usual way, said that the Empire had no way of destroying it. I, a ship that had seen a lot, agreed with the old man. The Republic back then had some weapons with A LOT of firepower, so maybe the Empire had repurposed it.
Moments after Han said that, an Imperial TIE fighter, a small ship that the Empire used, flew over us! The old man said that it was too small to take a long-range flight (I took a moment to feel superior to the TIE fighter), so there must be a base nearby, and it might alert the Empire of me and my crew. Chewie and Han reached a quick decision to follow the small ship. As a result, we found the base. It was big enough to be a small moon, but it was obviously constructed.
As we approached the space station we got ensnared in the tractor beam! Clearly, we were trapped and helpless. I internally sighed, we should have pulled away when we had the chance. The old man, who later I heard that he was named Obi-Wan Kenobi, said that we couldn't surrender or fight, but there was a third option. Han, Chewie, Obi-Wan, the droids, and the young man who was named Luke, hid in my smuggling compartments that Han and Chewie used to hide illegal things.
Stormtroopers boarded me. I was very very nervous. What if they discovered my secrets,(which were my passengers)? A scanning team joined the stormtroopers. Now there was an even higher chance that my passengers would be discovered. Quickly, Han and the blonde knocked all the Imperial agents out. After that, Han and Luke stole their armor and used it as a disguise so they could infiltrate it and save someone named "Princess Leia". Chewie and the droids went one way, Obi-Wan went a different way, and Han and his friend went another. And I was left… alone.
It was lonely. I just sat there, hoping no one died, and I got scrapped and repurposed. Why do they even need to rescue the Princess? You'd think I'd know everything, being the ship, listening in the background. But, it seemed like I was ignored and unappreciated. Just a ship to take you from place to place.
Suddenly, Han, Luke, Chewie, the droids, and a human female who I assumed was Princess Leia met in the hangar. Obi-Wan was dueling, using the lightsaber that Luke was, with a man in black, who was also using a lightsaber. He was using a red one. Obi-Wan was using a blue blade. The humans, Chewie, and droids used the duel as a distraction to board me and not die.
Suddenly, the man in black sliced Obi-Wan in half. Somehow, Obi-Wan's now dead corpse disappeared, leaving an empty cloak. Luke let out a yell of horror, his mentor had been slayed! Luke's yell alerted the troops of his and his friend's presence. Great. The young blonde tried to shoot every Imperial in emotional agony. His friends urged him to stop so they could escape! I hope we would leave soon, I was getting desperate to leave. Finally, Luke relented. He ran through my blast doors speedily. As we flew out, the tractor beam didn't reactivate and trap us again! I guess that that was the old man's job.
I blasted us out of the station's defense system as fast as possible. We needed to get out FAST. Four TIE fighters were already pursuing us! Han gave Chewie the controls and he and Luke went to my gun turrets, ready to blast those four ships right out of here. Quickly, the two managed to destroy the TIE fighters. Han started to brag to the Princess about what he did during her recuse. Leia said that the Empire only let them get away, so they could track them to her Rebel base. She explained that the blue droid had technical readouts of the space station, which she called the "The Death Star." Leia had high hopes that the droid's data would help her and her allies destroy the Death Star.
I honestly had hope too. It felt good to do something not just for the money. Well, Han probably was thinking of the money. I was thinking of the positive fulfillment you got from helping someone out. Leia was trapped, and I took my passengers to help her get out! I honestly couldn't believe it was that easy to do something good. I was just used for smuggling and stealing.
I landed on Yavin 4, where the Rebel base was apparently located. I opened my doors. Then my passengers got out. I felt tired. All of that flying, and shooting, and hyperspace; I probably needed a fuel refill. I could hear the rebel leaders formulating a plan to attack the Death Star. I hoped Han would join the fight. On the other hand, there was probably a reward, and he was always in there for the money, always thinking of what he could gain.
After a while, it seemed that they had their stuff together. People were darting all over to their ships. A siren wailed, signaling it was time for battle. Han was telling something to Luke and Leia. He was also holding a case used for money. As Han and his friends got closer, I heard what he was saying.
Han was saying now that he had his reward money, he wouldn't join the fight to destroy the Death Star. Han's argument was that if he got killed, his reward would be useless. It was valid, but I had really hoped he wouldn't have said that. I had wanted to participate in the fight. I wanted to destroy all those pesky TIE fighters. His friends looked very disappointed at his announcement, but continued their preparations.
He, with Chewie following him boarded me. I wished there was a way to persuade him, but I couldn't exactly talk to him. The only way I could get back there is if I moved of my own accord, but that was impossible. So I just sat there, listening to Chewie and Han argue about the subject that I was pondering.
Eventually, Chewie persuaded him to return to the fight. His main point was that he might get some reward in the future for helping blow up the Death Star. Deep down, I knew he wanted to help. Very, very deep down. Even though you would probably have to dig, Han cared about his cause.
Even though we hadn't gotten that far, we still needed to go into hyperspace. If I was a human, I'd be sitting on the edge of my seat! I was very excited! Chewie looked happy to help his friends too. Han was just focusing on getting us there fast.
We dropped out of hyperspace just in time. The Rebel fleet was in dire need of help. The rebel's ships were being destroyed, with TIE fighters quickly trailing the survivors. Luke had two enemy ships following him as he raced towards a weak point in the Death Star. Han came up close and blew them up; doing so with an exclamation of joy when seeing the positive results.
I can imagine that Luke was happy as Han informed him that he was clear to fire. Luke fired. His torpedoes went right into the weak spot and the station exploded as we and the Rebel Fleet flew away. Everybody was screaming for joy! We had done it! We hand exploded the Death Star.
