A/N: I really don't know why I think of these things.

There are things that Ayame knows he shouldn't do. But he had never been very good at playing by the rules, so he tended to ignore the bulk of them.

He never told anyone his zodiac secret though.

Until a young girl stumbled upon it herself and suddenly… suddenly…

Suddenly there was this girl who already knew the deepest, darkest part of himself, and did not care. Who still only saw him exactly as he was. For who he was.

It made him want to be closer.

Slowly, he started. Paying her special attention, compliments. Gentle brushes of hand, tucking her hair behind her ear. Lingering gazes, soft smiles.

Some lines he would not cross. So he bided his time and he waited. And waited. Until, at last, she was eighteen, and he could lean closer, brush their shoulders against each other, sit beside her at dinner and press their legs together.

He relished in the confusion in her eyes, the blush on her cheeks. The glares of Kyo and Yuki. The eye-rolling of Shigure and Hatori.

Then, one night, he clasps her wrist gentle in his hand, and spins her, tugs her close. Their faces are inches apart.

"Tohru…" His voice is subtly sultry. He smiles when she blinks in confusion, but doesn't pull away. "You know how fond I am of you, right?"

"But Kyo-"

"Is a very good friend of yours."

"… a friend?"

"Mm-hm." He leans closer. "But I could be so much more." And then their lips are pressed together, his tongue sweeps through her gasp. He tugs her closer, but not too close, careful to press them together but not wrap his arms around her.

He ravages her thoroughly, so that when he lets her go, she is bleary-eyed and unfocused, panting and clutching at his shirt to stay standing. He cannot help the male grin of satisfaction the sight causes. "Till I see you again, sweet Tohru." When he leans down slowly to kiss the corner of her mouth, she does nothing to avoid it.

And she watches him the entire time he walks away.
