A/N: I got inspiration to write this in the middle of the night last night, but I had to wait until the morning to write this, and it's taken me all day to finish! Hawkmoth had akumatized a person who was a literal shadow. Ladybug and Cat Noir had realized half way through the fight that they couldn't beat this villian alone.
With reluctance they handed out the other Miraculouses that already had holders.
Team Miraculous wasn't doing so hot at this point though. Viperion was bleeding badly from a cut on his shoulder, while King Monkey was limping from twisting his ankle. Ryuuko had gotten slammed into a building but was miraculously alright.
Rena Rouge had tried her illusions but Shadow saw through them, and captured her. With this villain, he need only touch you, and you would freeze in your tracks.
Viperion reached for his bracelet. "Second ch-" but was cut off by Shadow grabbing him, and forcing him to his knees.
"Did you really think you could beat me, little heroes? Just hand over your Miraculouses. It'll save you the pain."
"Like heck." Carapace growled. Suddenly he ran at Shadow, much to the dismay of his friends.
"Carapace, no!" Cat Noir shouted, as Carapace ran at the villab.
Shadow cackled evilly, and reached out to grab him with a third arm.
"Voyager!" Pegasus pushed Carapace out of the way and got captured instead.
"Shoot." Ladybug muttered, running over to Carapace. She tried her hardest not to look at her friends, who Shadow had forced onto their knees.
"Carapace are you alright?"
"Yeah, yeah 'm alright." She helped him up.
"Ladybug look out!" Someone shouted. It was Cat Noir! Carapace tried to cover them from harm, with his shield, but Shadow traveled right through it, and grabbed him.
He immediately fell to his knees. Ladybug froze for a second before running. Once she was a few blocks away she hid and tried to breathe, and think of a plan.
Suddenly her yoyo started to ring, and she realized it was Cat Noir. "Cat?"
"Milady. I'm so glad you're ok."
"Good to hear your voice too partner. Where are you?"
"Hiding. He got King Monkey, and Ryuuko. I also knew I couldn't take him alone, so I made a temporary retreat."
"Same." She whispered out of breath.
Suddenly Hawkmoth's face projected everywhere. "People of Paris! Your heroes have fallen.
Ladybug and Cat Noir have abandoned you. Everyone will come to the pavilion in front of City Hall if you want your captured heroes to be unharmed.
I will reveal the identities of the people who couldn't save you."
"We… we have to do something Cat!"
He sighed. "No. No, we can't. This is a ruse to draw us out, and you know it… Our powers are the most powerful, and Hawkmoth could destroy the world if he had them. We have to transform back into civilians, and wait the worst of this out."
"Your right. Then when we see an opening we can strike. Ladybug out." She turned back into Marinette, and ran down the staircase of the building. On her way down she put her earrings in her purse, as to not raise suspicion.
After 20 minutes of running she finally reached her parents safe, and gave them a long hug.
She watched her friends who were still in their superhero forms kneel, and she so badly wanted to help them, but Cat was right.
The feeling of helplessness wasn't enough though.
After a few minutes she heard Alya, and Nino's families looking for them.
Max's mom seemed almost hysteric as she asked if anyone had seen her son.
Ondine was running around the crowd looking for Kim, and she looked scared out of her wits.
Kagami's mother looked more annoyed that her daughter hadn't come back to her when the attack had ended, and Hawkmoth demanded everyone to watch him unmask the heroes. She probably thought she was standing with her friends or something.
Juleka also looked more than terrified as she tried to find Luka. Her mother tried to assure her that he was probably somewhere safe, but also looked pretty scared.
Marinette bowed her head sadly as her friends' families tried to find them. She should have never given them Miraculouses.
When she looked up again the heroes who were on their knees looked sadly out to the crowd. They hated to see their loved ones like this.
"Finally. The Miraculous holders, who have defied me for so long." Hawkmoth looked pleased to see the heroes unable to move. Viperion was trying to reach his bracelet, but was unable to.
"Shadow. Unmask the heroes, and let us see who our 'great defenders' truly are." Hawkmoth commanded. Everyone in the crowd glared at the villian, but didn't do anything lest the heroes be hurt.
Thanks to his powers Shadow was able to simultaneously remove the heroes Miraculouses.
The crowd gasped as:
Rena Rouge turned into Alya,
Carapace turned into Nino,
King Monkey turned into Kim,
Ryuuko turned into Kagami,
Pegasus turned into Max,
and Viperion turned into Luka.
"Alya?!" Her family cried, as she looked up with tears streaming down her face.
Chris ran out of the crowd trying to get to Nino, only to be stopped by a wall of shadows.
Ondine looked like she was going to collapse after realizing that her boyfriend was one of the superheroes that had just been captured by Hawkmoth.
The people around Kagami's mother turned to her. " Kagami's, Ryukko." Someone whispered.
"What!?" She cried, outraged, her face immediately turning to one of horror, and fear.
Max's mom had a terrified look on her face as she saw that her son was the superhero, Pegasus.
And Juleka had frozen, a look of pure terror on her face. Her mother didn't look much better off.
Marinette lowered her head in shame, for not being able to protect her friends. Adrien did the exact same thing on the other side of the crowd.
Hawkmoth smirked triumphantly from the stage. "I guess that Ladybug and Cat Noir are too scared to save their friends." He taunted.
"How dare you!" Marinette whipped around as did the rest of the crowd. Standing alone to face Hawkmoths wrath stood Adrien Agreste.
"How. Dare. You." He seethed.
Everyone anticipated Hawkmoth to order the boy executed or something else that an evil-villain-person would order done on one of their deffiers.
But… he didn't… Hawkmoths just eyebrows knitted together in thought.
"You have CHILDREN kneeling before you, and you still have the guts to taunt them? To know that up until now you've been defeated by CHILDREN!?!? How does that make you feel? You're hurting CHILDREN, and still seem to NOT CARE!" Adrien shouted.
"AND LADYBUG AND CAT NOIR DO CARE!" He grabbed something out of his pocket, and thrust it onto his ring finger. "PLAGG!" He cried. "CLAWS OUT!"
Standing there seconds later was an angry Cat Noir. "CATACLYSM!" The crowd gasped as Cat Noir jumped at Hawkmoth, his intent clear.
"Kitty no!" Marinette shouted without thinking. This caused Cat Noir to falter, and instead of destroying the villain he destroyed a very sad potted plant.
Everyone turned to her. She hastily put on her earrings as Cat Noir stared at her stunned.
"Tikki! Spots on!" She shouted, immediately transforming into Ladybug.
Hawkmoth blinked several times, still incredibly confused as to Adrein being Cat Noir. Back at the manor Natalie had actually fainted from the shock.
Ladybug flung her yoyo at Hawkmoth, successfully trapping him.
This whole debacle had caused Shadow to have a temporary lapse in focus, as Hawkmoth lost some of his control over the akumatized victim.
Right as Shadow tried to free his master, Carapace (Who had somehow managed to free himself while Shadow was confused, and get his miraculous back.), destroyed the akumatized object which just so happened to be a pen.
Marinette deevilized the butterfly, and Shadow started to disappear.
As the akumatized victim transformed back into a person, the college student's family ran over to him.
"Wha' happened?" He asked, as he looked around at a trapped Hawkmoth, stunned crowd, and a group of unmasked heroes.
"We'll explain later." His dad told him, as they led him back into the crowd.
Cat Noir stalked over to Hawkmoth, and tore the Moth Miraculous off his chest, leaving a resigned Gabriel Agreste where Hawkmoth had been seconds before.
The crowd gasped, and everyone turned to Cat Noir who they now knew as Adrien. The boy took a step back in shock.
"N-no…" He whispered. Suddenly Adrien's expression turned cold. He turned to the police, and nodded towards his father. "Take him away."
The police blink for a few seconds before running to grab the fashion designer turned criminal mastermind.
"Son! I did this for you!" Gabriel tried to reason with Cat Noir.
The boy turned to his father his eyes glittering with unshed tears. "That's not an excuse, nor an answer. I didn't ask you to do this, and I never wanted you to hurt my friends." He growled.
"WHY WOULD YOU THINK THAT HARMING INNOCENT PEOPLE IS WHAT I WANTED!??!" He shouted, whimpering towards the end. His father, his FATHER was a villain.
"Thank you for freeing me." Nooroo addressed the superheroes. "Ms.Natalie is Myura. Please help my friend Dusu." He informed them.
"Of course Nooroo." Marinette handed the kwami a macaron. "We'll make sure everything gets handled, now why don't you rest on my purse, and I'll take you back to the miraculous box later."
"Thank you guardian." Nooroo flew into her purse, and ate the remainder of the remainder of the macaron Marinette gave him.
The police led Gabriel away, and Ladybug rested a hang on Cat Noir's shoulder. "It'll be alright kitty." She told him.
He nodded numbly. "I can't believe that Natalie was Myura. I'm going to go see to it that she is arrested, and that Dusu is freed." He used his staff to jump onto a building, and jumped from roof to roof.
Marinette sighed, and shook her head. This had been one CRAZY day…
Now that Shadow was gone, and Hawkmoth was being handled by authorities, the miraculous holders' families ran over to the group of kids.
Carapace had transformed back into Nino, and was on his knee's breathing heavily. Chris ran over to him, and hugged Nino. The Turtle Miraculous holder smiled, and hugged his brother back.
Alya had tried to walk, but failed miserably. She ended up leaning on Nora, just so she could stand up. Her family engulfed her in a big hug, and it didn't look as if they were going to let go anytime soon.
Ondine ran over to Kim who looked as if he was on the verge of fainting. "You idiot." She whispered, as she hugged him. "You brave, brave, stupid idiot."
Kagami's mother made her way to her daughter's side. Kagami was on her hands and knees trying to breathe.
"Kagami." Her mother barked, causing said girl to go riged. "You did good, I'm proud." She added in a softer tone.
Kagami tried to laugh, but it ended in a coughing fit. "Thanks mom." She whispered, as she was pulled into a hug.
Max had passed out as soon as Shadow had lost his control on him. Max's mom hugged him, and he awoke for a second which was just enough time to assure her he was alright.
Luka had also passed out, though he had most likely passed out from blood loss, not exhaustion. A paramedic was in the process of bandaging his shoulder.
Marinette's parents came rushing over to her, and held her tight. "We had no idea!" Her father murmured.
"You've been so brave!" Her mother cried.
"I love you guys." Marinette whispered.
Her father kissed the top of her head, and her parents stopped clinging to their daughter.
"I have to do something." Ladybug told them. "I'll be right back."
She walked over to Alya, and hugged her. "Are you alright." Was the first thing Marinette asked her best friend.
"Yeah… Yeah, I'm fine…" Alya yawned. "I still can't believe your Ladybug, girl!" She added.
"Yup! I guess I did a pretty good job at hiding it."
"You can say that again!" They both laughed.
Alya yawned again. "Are you sure you're alright?" Marinette asked, just to make sure.
"Yeah. I think Shadow was draining our energy, cause I could sleep for a week now."
"Should we have the holders checked out by doctors? Just to make sure everyones alright? I mean aside from Kim's broken ankle, Luka's shoulder, and the fact that Ryuuko probably broke a rib or two when she got flung into that building."
"That's probably for the best." Alya remarked. Her friend reached for her necklace.
"No." Marinette told her. "Keep it."
Ladybug turned to the crowd. "I deem that all of the people who already hold miraculous except Hawkmoth, and Myura may keep their miraculous as long as they use them for the forces of good.
I sincerely hope that we will not have to face another villain, but I know that if we do I will have the best teammates by my side."
Everyone cheered, and the injured heroes were helped into ambulances so that they may be checked up in the hospital.
A little later Cat Noir met Ladybug on their special roof.
"Everything taken care of kitty?" She asked him.
"Of course, Bugaboo. Dusu is back in the miraculous box, and Natalie has been arrested. I guess it's time for our next great adventure." And with that the partners jumped from rooftop to rooftop on patrol.
Though Hawkmoth and Myura were gone, they would still keep Paris safe. Because it was what they did.
