Why?
It was a normal day in the Elior Forest in which a village of elves resided. They take refuge in here, secluded from the outside world. However, the decision to live here was not out of choice but out of necessity. The reason was because of the Witch of Envy that made the world harbor a deep grudge against elves because she was an elf herself. So to escape this stigma and hatred they live deep inside of this forest. It was hard at first, but because of a kind bishop named Pelelguese, life had a good outlook. They didn't need to worry about food, clothes, and other supplies because he would routinely visit to make sure they were well stocked. Because of this, they were able to build this village up to the point where they could call it home.
Even though these elves were now self-sufficient, the kind bishop insisted on them accepting his help. Everything until the Peleguese started acting strange. For the past 2 months, the bishop has been enforcing a check-up for everyone in the village. He had told everyone that they were in danger. That there was an imposter among them. For a while, the village believed what he said. However, his accusations have yet to bear fruit and thus the people of Elior stopped believing that was the case. They thought he was lying but perhaps it was all the work getting to his head. He always worked tirelessly and maybe because of that.
Thinking that was the case, Fortuna was able to talk Peleguese into having a full week to himself to take it easy and rest.
Unfortunately, it wasn't doing anything to help him.
"ARGGHHHHHHHHHH!" in the dead of night a blood-curdling scream echoes throughout his home. Petelguese is curled up in a fetal position on the floor holding his lower abdomen as if he was in great pain. Rapid footsteps could be heard coming to his room just before the door flies open with a worried-looking man within its frame.
"Peleguese-sama!" The finger cries before rushing to the bishop's proned form.
"He is here! The imposter is here!" Peleguese says hoarsely which causes the finger to get on guard.
"The imposer! Where?!" The finger shoots back.
"There!" He says while pointing to a corner of the room. But just as soon as he does he immediately realizes something.
The corner is empty.
"Huh? Nononono he was right there I swear!"
The finger thoroughly checks that side of the room but not only is there nothing there, but there's also no sign that anyone was here, to begin with.
"Petelguese-sama... was it perhaps a bad dream?"
"No, it was real! I have proof! He got me right...here?" He removes his hands from his stomach but is again met with nothing out of the ordinary.
"Impossible! He got me! He stabbed me! I felt it! I experienced it!" Peleguese grips his head and shouts madly.
'Lord Petelguese...' the finger's eyes begin to water as he watches this kind soul spiral down into the depths of madness.
As this was happening, a platinum-haired woman stood in the very same corner of the room in that Peleguese pointer to.
"How interesting." She says out loud. However, the two other people in the room don't seem to take notice of her. Or rather, they couldn't. The vile person before them was Pandora, the Witch of Vainglory.
"Who would have thought that Among u-" Just as she utters those words she feels pain like no other rip it's way into her mind. So dreadfully painful that moment that she was struck by the pain feels as though its been stretched out an infinite number of times. She lets out a silent scream before the pain suddenly disappears and she drops to the floor gasping for air. The pain is gone but the fear is engraved in her soul. Suddenly the witch feels something that she's never felt before.
Guilt and regret.
Was this what Peleguese was going through every waking moment? After experiencing only a taste of the pain after merely almost stating the name of the curse she couldn't imagine what he was going through.
"I'm sorry Guese." The witch apologizes meaningfully. What she did to him she would never do to anyone else.
1 week later...
Peleguese's fingers were back in Elior delivering supplies as they usually did. However, they were in low spirits. They tried to hide it with fake smiles and cheer while it may have fooled some but not Fortuna. So while they were unloading she decided to wave one over.
"Hello Fortuna-san, anything you need?" The young woman asks politely.
Fortuna leans against a wall before sighing softly.
"How's Petelguese?" She says getting straight to the point. The finger's face falls slightly before flashing a fake smile.
"Petelguese-sama told us to tell you not to worry about him."
"Why? Is he getting any better?"
"..." The finger stays silent. Fortuna grabs her hands and looks her in they eyes.
"If you don't tell me what's happening, I can't do anything but worry." The finger averts her gaze and says nothing.
"Please?" Fortuna begged.
"He's...He's only getting worse." The finger started with tears coming to her eyes.
"Everyone please line up! It's time for your checkups!" A familiar voice shouts out loud.
"Petelguese-sama! You were supposed to be resting!" One of the fingers said worriedly.
"I'm fine my diligent finger." When they get a good look at him see that his outfit has completely changed. He is wearing a strange black jacket that has an unknown language written all over it and similar black jeans. This outfit was complete with a pair of expensive looking shoes that had a check mark on them.
"Geuse what are you wearing?" Fortuna asked the strangely dressed man.
"Oh, this? It's just my drip. With this, I'll be able to beat the imposter."
...
...
...
After a couple of moments, the fingers begin to weep as they witness their leader's fractured mind.
"Now enough with my drip. Everyone line up!" He calls out again. Despite this, his word no one makes a move. Both the villagers and fingers looking at him with pity in there eyes.
"Guese..." Fortuna says softly with the same look on her face.
'Why are they all looking at me like that? Was my drip not enough? Wait a second! No, it can't be! They think I'm suspicious!' Suddenly Peleguese is unable to stop thinking about the last word he thought about. His mind latched on to it as if he was being forced to dissect it.
Suspicious...
Suspicious.
Suspicious!
SUS-
When the imposter is sus
Suddenly an image of someone's face that he didn't recognize flashes in his mind for a brief instance before unearthly pain rips through his skull and straight into his mind where he sees the Red, Orange, and cyan bean people dance with their overly large shoes to something that could hardly be called "music". Each beat of the bass making with brain tremble with pain. Peleguese falls to the ground and starts clawing at his head like he was he was trying to get something out.
"GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD!" He shouts with tears running down his face freely as he rolls back and forward. Mad with pain, he unconsciously summons the Unseen Hand and they start moving like they have a mind of their own.
"Peleguese-sama!" A finger shouts. Before he can do anything to help, everything above his waist explodes into blood mist only leaving a bit of his spine protruding from the waist.
It's silent for a moment nothing can be heard except for the lower half of the man's body dropping and his blood raining down on the surrounding area.
Then everyone screams.
"Lady Fortuna! We need to get out here!" a blond-haired elf named Arch says while pulling her arm.
"But Guese is in trouble-" Just as those words leave her mouth she hears something wisping through the air at high speeds. She looks to see what it is but nothing is there. A moment after that Arch's head explodes.
Arch's skull fragments shoot out like shrapnel and embed themselves into Fortuna's flesh as she's knocked to the floor. It all happened so fast that she couldn't process what happened. One moment she was standing up and the next she was knocked onto the floor. Her ears are ringing and she can't even hear her own voice. She calls out for Arch and looks around. From her proned position, she sees multiple fingers rush in to save Peleguese only to be struck by an unseen force and explode in a mess of gore. She moves to get up but her hand touches something warm. She looks to her left and is greeted with Arch's headless corpse with blood soaking the floor and her clothes.
"Archie?" Before she can do anything else something strikes one of the houses next to her sending a brick flying directly into her face making her world go black.
