This one… well, it's a WeissxJaune story where Ruby helps her guy bestie who just happens to have the cutest wittle tail convince her girl bestie that he really does like her for her! No! It's not because when he gets sad he looks just like a scolded Zwei!

"Hey Weiss, you look really nice today!" Jaune called as he saw Weiss' really pretty face round the corner with that smile on her face as she talked to her friends… aw, he really liked her smile! He really hoped he could make her smile like that for him some day!
His Husky tail wagged excitedly as he got prepared to ask if she wanted to come with him to the dance, no more flirting or anything like he had been doing, nope! He was gonna just show his true feelings and if Weiss still said no… well, then he guessed he would just try and be her friend then!
Honestly, all he wanted was to make her happy… he noticed how she always had this scent of… sadness about her… and well, he wanted to change that!
Aaaaand then her smile turned into a scowl… ah… there was the big problem… see, Weiss… wasn't his biggest fan.
"Arc. What do you want? Here to trick me into touching you again?"
See… he had been busy checking out the local flora to try and make a nice dinner for whatever team he ended up on, his nose and other senses had always let him be good at this sorta thing after all!
Hah… besides his Huntsman training, he had always taken an interest in food. His dad had joked that, whenever they were done training, his first thing would be to go and eat all the calories he'd just burned off.
But then the weirdest thing had happened… he heard a voice… and angelic voice that filled his Golden Retriever ears which filled him with joy.
" Aw… Are you wost wittle guy? Oh, you're just a poor wost puppa, aren't woo?" had come the pretty voice, Jaune lifting his head and releasing a… kinda embarrassing 'Rrr?'. Then imagine his complete shock when he had felt a pretty hand lay itself down on his head begin to ruffle the afore mentioned ears. Huh… it'd felt… kinda nice…
You see, Jaune was a… bit of an oddity among Faunus. In fact, he kinda shouldn't exist… not like that!
He… well, he was born with two traits.
His mom's husky traits and his dad's Golden retriever traits had combined into one for him, apparently. Though it never really got him any kind of bullying, in fact it kinda made him popular… even if he really didn't enjoy being in the limelight. Heh, always had kinda been more of the… stay they heck at home and game kinda guy.
Anyway! He had been enjoying checking out the really nice looking mushrooms when that hand had touched his head.
That hand had… kinda taken over his brain as the scent of frozen berries and winter flowers had filled his nose.
The sound of her voice had filled his ears, both of them, it was almost angelic in its' way. Filled with happiness and cheer.
He turned and, through the filter of the bushes, made out a face he had only ever expected to see in fairy tales. Skin pale as snow, eyes like ancient ice yet held a certain warmth to them as her beautiful smile spread across her face.
"Aw… do you like me? Oh, your tail is wagging so hard! Eee! I bet you really like me!" Yeah… yeah, he guessed he did… his heart had beat so fast in that moment… knowing what this feeling was… his dad had told him about that feeling, the feeling he got whenever he saw his mom smile…
Aaaaaaand then things had gone bad.
"Oh, uh… thanks! Glad you think my tail wagging is cool?"
He had smiled up at the girl… who froze… utter horror slowly forming on her face as she ever so silently moved back…
He was confused at first, why was the pretty girl looking like that… then she'd screamed about him being a pervert… having apparently decided that he had tricked her into stroking his head as a weird kink thing… for some reason.
From that day, despite his best efforts to be nice and happy with Weiss and… well…maybe get a date out of it since he really liked everything about her… Weiss had kinda hated him… he honestly didn't know why!
But. Back to the present where he was once again trying to be nice to Weiss and compliment her pretty expression… which turned to a scowl as she saw him… ah crud… he guessed she still didn't like him… aw…
"Well, speak up, here to try and trick me into touching you again?"
Ruby Rose watched with a pout as Weiss tore into her guy bestie, watching him awkwardly smile and try and once again explain that it was her who had started it! Now, Ruby liked Weiss a lot! She was… nicer than she had been! Heck, for the first time in ages, she had laughed at one of her jokes this morning! Whoo!
But… what she couldn't figure out for the life of her, was why Weiss didn't like Jaune… it didn't make any sense! He was always really nice to her! Heck, he literally wagged his tail like a propeller whenever he was near her and didn't even seem to know he was doing it!
Hee… she had found it so adorable when he had realised and gone all shy, heh, she had given him ear scritches afterwards as an apology, Jaune's foot thumping the ground when Yang got involved… though Blake still wouldn't go near Jaune… seriously, she actually hissed at him when he went over and asked if he could borrow her book yesterday!
Wasn't she against getting treated like an animal? So why the heck was she acting like this!?
Anyway!
Back to Weiss and… aw no…
"-And for the last time! I do not want to ever go on a date with you! So stop asking-"
"But… I didn't? All I did was say you looked nice?" Jaune tried to inter… inter… tell Weiss! But… well, she didn't seem to wanna know.
"Don't interrupt me! Just give up on the idea! Y-You're ridiculous! You're idiotic! You're gangly! You try and act all nice when I know that isn't t-true! You… You dare to act as if your sad little attempts to appear adorable with your Faunus appendages affect me in any way! Hmph! And then you dare to act like you actually care about me! Hah! I see through you, Arc!"
Ruby's eyes widened as Weiss stormed past Jaune with a growling and spitting Blake following her, clawing at the air… heh… she imagined that was never gonna stop.
And then… Ruby saw Jaune… and her little heart broke at the look on his face… memories of puppy Zwei getting scolded by dad and looking at her with those.. soulful… mournful eyes that begged her to help him… that he hadn't meant to chase that squirrel through his garden… and greenhouse… and the actual house… and then onto his clean sheets with muddy paws… no! Ruby had been powerless… and hadn't been able to stop herself from fibbing that a Creep Grimm was digging through the roses again… yeah, he dad had quickly forgotten about Zwei to go kill the Grimm which was actually there so… whoo! She hadn't actually lied!!!... Technically!
Zwei was just… so good at the puppy dog eyes! And when Ruby looked at Jaune, she… wait, no! Sh-she wasn't feeling bad because he reminded her of Zwei when he was sad! Nope! She… was looking out for her friend! Yeah!!! That… actually was part of it! She really did like Jaune and thought he and Weiss would be cool together… but she… she… oh dang it, why did he have to look like an actual kicked puppy!?
Jaune's tail drooped… his ears pinned themselves back as he released a sound that was Ruby's doom…
*pitiful, doggy whine of 'why don't you like me? What did I do wrong?'*
It… it was too much… Ruby needed to act and now!
And she had just the right person to help as well!!!
"Heh… Ruby. Why would I help you with this… whatever the heck you'd call this? I mean, yeah Jaune's a cool dude that I'd take any day as a sparring partner or have by my side fighting Grimm with that OP Semblance of his… and I bet Weiss would be way less of a bitch-" "Hey, she's not that bad!" Yang ignored her as she continued talking, not entirely sure why Ruby had drug her into their dorm room for this since Weiss was quiet as hell with her tiny body and could be back any second. "-if she got with a guy who would make it his mission to make her happy… but why should we mess in their love life? Or, heh, lack of one" she grinned at the last part… and then felt kinda bad… ouch, okay, bad joke… Gotta get Jaune some jerky later for that one, always makes me feel better to watch his tail wag when he eats it, heh.
"Because... He... He... Oh just look!" her dearest little sister yelled, thrusting out her Scroll and nearly bopping Yang in the face. She pulled back, uncrossing her eyes... And kinda wished she hadn't at the agonising sight before her...
Soulful blue eyes looking down guiltily to the side...
A puppy dog pout of the greatest potency...
Fwuffy ears laid flat against a head that dropped low...
And that tail... Oh Oum, why did it have to look so sadly limp?
Zwei! Did you chew up my slippers again!?
She remembered this look... Remembered the tortured whine that left his muzzle when her dad had been scolding him... And Yang, being the genius tween she had been, had done the only thing she could...
It was me!!! I... Uh, hated them, yeah!
Yeah... That, uh... He hadn't bought it, but Zwei had been such a good boy and given her many kisses and nudges later that night as a thank you for trying... And for setting the kitchen on fire when her previous plan had failed. Grounded for a month she may have been... But the thanks in Zwei's eyes as she had tickled his chin had made it all worth it...
Which was why she suffered as she saw the same look in Jaune's eyes as Zwei'd had! Seriously! She swore she heard really sad music playing in the background and everything! what next!? the whole world was gonna grey out as a voice over told her that her donations would help!?

because dammit, she may just do it!
"Hah, dammit! Fine! I'll help you! just stop with the damn picture already! Oum above, that thing is fucking weaponised!!!"
"Hah! I knew you'd see reason!" Ruby cheered proudly, before pulling out a hastily put together plan written on the back of…
"Ruby… is that the assignment for Doctor Oobleck which is due tomorrow?"
"Not important! Love and making Jaune wag his cute husky tail again now, boring history later!!!"
"Heh… fine, but lemme go bring some back up, we both know she'll be more than happy to help us"
Weiss… was not happy.
Why should she be? She had been dragged into this damnable situation due to her being unable to just run away back to Atlas to escape her equally damnable teammates…
Ruby had come and grabbed her… literally.
Weiss had been trying to calm down after seeing him once again, doing her very best to not tear her hair out as she did the breathing exercises Winter had taught her.
Seriously. It was just… just… ooooo, utterly infuriating! Couldn't he just stop!?
Anyhow, she was still waiting on finding out just what she, her brute of a sister and… Nora? Oh dear… was it really too late to escape back to Atlas?
Ruby's grip on her arm tightened and Weiss let out a whimper that reminded her of a dunce knight she knew.
Hah… she would admit that with his armour, vast aura, weapons and Semblance, Arc was a great fighter and… well… she guessed he was a decent leader…
But he was just so ridiculous!
Acting as if he actually was a dog all the time!
He panted when he was tired despite the fact that he sweated like a normal person.
He chased his tail when it twitched randomly and shocked him, how everyone else thought it was funny was beyond her… no! She did hate it! It was… stupid!
And dear Gods… she'd seen him literally chase a squirrel up a tree the other day! Had spent a good half hour trying to climb the tree to try and get to the rodent… she dreaded the day he attempted to sniff her posterior…
Now, after spending time with her revealed to be cat Faunus teammate, Weiss' views on Faunus had greatly changed… but Seriously! Arc put his people back generations every time he suddenly sat down on his rump to scratch his ear with his leg!
Ruby turned with a confused quirk of her eyebrow at the expression Weiss was pulling… huh… interesting…
But the worst thing… Was that it was clear that Arc was just like all the others who had attempted to court her. Why else would he act so foolishly in his attempts to get her to date him?
Bah! As if she would.
The way he relentlessly complimented her, acting as if he actually believed her eyes shimmered like the aurora borealis.
The way he kept coming back no matter how harsh her words were! Hah! Why would he keep putting himself through it unless he was just obsessed with getting access to her money, power of status!
It... No, she didn't think his own brand of nervous humour was funny, practiced lines designed to try and lower her guard! That was all they were!
"Hah… what are we doing, Ruby? You said this was important…" Weiss murmured, noticing that Yang and Nora had not noticed them. Instead they seemed to be rather preoccupied with something… something that-oh dear.
"Uh… Hey girls? What, uh… did ya wanna talk about?"
"Ruby… what is he doing here?" she asked, even as she was dragged around the corner by her partner who had them peer around the corner at the show that was apparently going down before them.
Arc was talking with them, a confused expression that wasn't entirely too uncommon considering that Arc was… Arc. His… his… stupid dog ears were flitting about as Nora and Yang were talking to him, grins on their faces that… Oh Weiss did not like the looks on their faces… no sir!
"Well… You know how you think Jaune is only after you for your money and stuff?"
"Because he is" Weiss scowled, interrupting Ruby who hit her with a deadpan stare that impressed even Weiss in the sheer 'shush and let me talk' it impressed upon her.
"Heh… anyway! Well~! We're here to prove to you that, that's not true! And in the cutest way possible!" she imagined Ruby thought she was being quiet in that last bit, but she clearly wasn't… why oh why had she allowed herself to do this?
"Well, that won't happen. You and I both know this, Ruby... Well, I do. You seem to think he is a nice person" she growled out... But that didn't stop her curiously watching just what was about to happen.
"Hah, well, if you're so sure then I say we bet on it!" Ruby announced... Far too loudly as both she and her dolt of a partner were forced to hide behind the wall as the three down the hall turned in their direction. She turned with Ruby with narrowed eyes, the little reaper apologizing profusely.
"Hah... Fine, what is this bet? Because when I win whatever this is, you have to stop eating cookies on your bed! I'm tired of waking up with crumbs all over mine because you down clean up after yourself!" she demanded, Ruby's eyes flying wide in horror at the implications of such a threat. Hah, there we go, Ruby would stop with her childish attempt to get her to think of Arc as anything other than… than a horrid person! Yes! That was what she thought of him!
But then… Ruby smiled… she smiled a smile that she'd only seen once before when Yang had accidentally eaten the last of her cookies and had told her she would do anything for forgiveness…
"Okay then…~" ah, there was that fear for her sanity… she'd missed it, having become akin to an old friend ever since she had met Ruby Rose. "When I win… You have to be nicer to Jaune~ I want you to stop yelling at him when he talks to you and stop being so plain mean when he… well, asks you out"
"Oh for… you seriously plan on making me go on a pity date with him? Ruby… I am honestly a little shocked" Really, she was… She had never seen Ruby as the type to try and pull something so… seedy… it honestly upset her a little. Though from the utterly confused look on Ruby's face managed to fill her with hope that she had been wrong.
"Huh? What ya talking about? I just said I want you to be nicer to him! Y'know, don't glare every time he says you look nice or compliments you… sometimes he really is just being nice and not trying to flirt…" Ah… she… okay, she herself could admit that one morning Arc had simply said he wanted to be as clever as her one day and she may have shouted at him to not try and copy her… and then created an ice wall between them… but it was nice to know Ruby really didn't want to try and manipulate her like that. "Jaune wouldn't do it if he thought you were being forced, he wants you to want to go… plus it'd make him sad" Oum above, was Ruby also a dog Faunus? That puppy dog pout was deadly.
"Hah… fine, fine! Though you will have to understand that I will freeze him to the spot if he thinks myself being nicer is me wanting to date him" she growled, Ruby rolling her eyes as she mentioned Pyrrha was always nice as pie to him, more than nice really… and yet he didn't want to date her.
Yes, that was fair, but why couldn't he just date Pyrrha!? The girl actually wanted to be with him for some reason! She had literally walked up to him the other day and said he looked so incredibly handsome in just his orange tank top and sweatpants… dammit, why did a disgusting pervert like Arc have to be toned and muscular? It was bad enough to have his unwanted attention, it was made worse by the fact multiple girls had come up to her and asked just what her reasons for not dating one of the top students in the year were… well, it was simple! She had already stated why!
He was no different to those others who had gone after her for the fact her last name was Schnee… it was clear with just how pathetic his attempts were. No man who actually cared about a girl would debase themselves as much as he had to gain her affection unless he was after something other than her favour…
"Cool, gonna tell Yang the plan is go then!" She giggled, Weiss raising an eyebrow… that… this was more than a hastily thrown together plan, wasn't it?
Jaune's ears flicked as he caught the sound of a weird buzzing noise… but was quickly distracted as Yang suddenly wrapped an arm around his shoulders.
"Say, I got this new game, you two wanna join me for a match? Jaune? It's that one you've been wanting to play for a while~" She grinned, Jaune's eyes and ears perking up instantly, oh! Was it really Immortal Brawl!? Oh, he hoped Tarantula still had his chain dagger spam attack, it was always so fun to annoy his sisters with and he still owed Nora payback after she accidentally broke his bed by jumping on it… seriously. For a Sloth Faunus, Nora really didn't know the meaning of relaxing.
Yang tried not to squee at the sight of Jaune's wagging tail, somehow managing it despite his excited look that just brimmed innocent joy.
A faint 'eee!' down the hallway told her that Ruby wasn't as successful. Before Jaune's enhanced hearing could pick up on it, though, she dragged him into the room with promises to let him play first against her to see if he was any good. The competitive grin he shot out was something Yang found herself sighing in relief at. Hah.. at least he hadn't suspected anything.
"Okay… now what? Unless you have a cam…era… oh Oum, you have a camera?" she asked as Ruby produced her Scroll's camera which showed it was connected to Nora's who gave a thumbs up and an almost cheesy grin on her face.
"Eyup! Now… why don't you give a listen in and focus on Jaune… or, well, I certain part of Jaune" Ruby said mysteriously, Weiss not entirely sure what she meant but if it would mean that she got away from all those awful cookie crumbs.
Jaune grinned as he managed to get in a combo on a growling Yang, heh… it was rare that he could beat her outside of the arena and even then it was mainly due to just how punishment he could take before he dished out a powerful thwack! With Crocea Mors.
"No, no, no! Dammit!" Yang yelled as he managed to get a finisher on her, burning her to nothing but ash and yet still somehow managing to leave her heart unburnt to grab and crush… ah, he loved mindless violence sometimes. "Heh… I'll get you next time you button mashing cheater" she glared playfully, Jaune chuckling a little, knowing how serious Yang was when it came to winning.
"Ooo! Jauney! I just found out that the new edition of your favourite comic is out!" Nora suddenly cried, Jaune turning with a start, eyes wide and near sparkling in joy at the revelation.
Thump, thump, thump!*
"Really!? Oh, heck yeah!" he cheered, oh this was epic! He was really gonna go and get the latest issue! He wondered what Xray and Vav were gonna get up to this time!
"Oh… but I think they just sold out…" the weird thumping sound he had been hearing stopped as Jaune froze mid cheer… sold out? They… aw… but he really wanted it…
*...*
Hah… oh well… it… could be worse… at least he could… maybe get ano-
"Oh wait! Pyrrha just messaged me that she got it as part of a sponsor and is asking if you want it!" she suddenly shouted, turning her Scroll around to show Pyrrha's smiling face as the call Nora had made connected.
*THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!*
"YES! Pyrrha, I could kiss you!" he cheered, not noticing how his sister in all but blood went beat red and ended the call with a sound that was half scream, half squeak. "Huh? Where'd she go?"
"Never you mind~" Yang interrupted, patting his shoulder… a little heavily, a sigh leaving her lips.
"Yeah, don't you worry, Fearless, dense, leader!" Nora cheered, Jaune cocking an offended eyebrow. He wasn't dense! He was pretty darn good at telling people feelings! Well… maybe not everyone's feelings as he had thought that Cardin actually wanted to be his friend when he asked if Jaune wanted to play fetch… what? It was his favourite game back home! Really helped with his cardio as well!
"Say, Jaune, I meant to ask… is everything alright with you and Cardin now? You, uh… you made it seem like you weren't too happy with him the last time you saw him…" Yang asked, looking weirdly awkward for once… ah, Cardin…
*…*
"I… yeah, I guess I'm not his biggest fan, I tried to be nice to him! I really did! But he just wouldn't stop being mean to Velvet about her ears!" he forced himself to suppress a growl at the thought of what he had seen them doing… poor Velvet had looked like she was hurting… so naturally Jaune had thrown a pie in his face! It… had ended up in a massive food fight where he may have smacked a watermelon into his privates… hey, he was a nice person but wasn't above pettiness! Even Ren had wailed on him with a string of sausages and a baguette!
"True… but hey! You made a great friend in her and that Coco girl at least!"
*thump, thump, thump!*
Yeah, she was right! Coco and Velvet were really nice and Coco had actually helped him upgrade his style too! Hah! He really liked his new jacket with buckles around the neck in case he got cold… it… had a name he claimed to know so Coco wouldn't sigh and shake her head at him like he was slow again…
"… That… heh, what am I meant to be seeing here, Ruby?" Weiss asked with a huff, Ruby grinning ear to ear.
"Don't you see? Look!" she pointed at the screen where Nora was busy ruffling his hair and telling him that he was a lot more awesome than he gave himself credit for! Arc's tail… wagging again… and his ears wiggled happily… wait…
"Yep! Jaune's tail and ears are really good at showing his emotions… and he doesn't even realise it! look!" Weiss was about to deny it, when Yang complimented his fighting style and that tail began to wag at top speed once again… only for Jaune to finally notice it and clamp a hand around the offending appendage with a red face.
He… he really was terrible at hiding his emotions with those appendages of his…
"S-So what? Just because he is an idiot who can't control his own body parts, it doesn't mean he actually gives a damn about me!" Weiss told her with a growl… even… even if it was kinda cute… wait-no! No it wasn't!
"Just. You. wait!" Ruby informed her, bopping her nose like she was an idiot child! The smack Weiss delivered to her arm was something Ruby didn't seem to notice as Weiss returned her attention to the screen.
"Yeah… and I bet, with those muscles, skills and your mug to help, that new outfit she got you has made you pretty popular with the ladies?" she asked with wiggled eyebrows, Jaune furrowing his brow in confusion, what did she mean? He… well, he wasn't really all that popular with the girls… friends with a lot of them who liked to offer him chocolates and cookies every time they saw him, especially that one nice with girl with green eyes and black hair. She was a transfer from what he knew.
But a girl liking him… nah… even if he really wanted a certain girl to like him…
*…*
"Nah…. I mean, the only girls I really hang out with only really see me as a friend or… well, we all know how Weiss sees me…"
His ears flattened in disappointment, he really would have been happy with her just wanting to be his friend, he really liked her… plus, well, he knew a lonely person when he saw them… Weiss really was a lonely person who was just getting some friends and he wanted to be one of them!
"Oh really? You sound like you really like Weiss then…~?" Nora giggled, pearly whites exposed as Jaune blushed heavily at the implications of what she was saying… Well… yeah, he did… but that didn't mean he wanted the world to know!
"W-Well… maybe…"
"Hah! Maybe, sure! Jaune, we all see the way you look at her!" his flushed at Yang's words, aw crud... Yang was like a Grimm in a this particular occasion. Grimm sensed your negative emotions and zeroed in on it to hunt you down... Yang? Replace the negative emotions with embarrassed blushing and they were a mirror image... Not That he would tell her that she reminded him of a Grimm, he wasn't stupid. "So. Tell me... What do you really want with Weiss? Why do you wanna be with her? Don't give up despite how, uh… what's the word Rubes would use? Ah, despite how much of a meany she can be?"
He froze… eyes flying wide as both Yang and Nora leered at him with knowing smiles… he… okay this… ah crud… this wasn't good…
"I… I… uh…" he took a breath, steadying his thundering heart, unaware of the two people down the hall who were also listening in…
Weiss watched intently… what… what would be his answer? His tail had stopped moving… his ears were flat… was this a sign that he was getting ready to lie? Or… or… she hated the damn heat that came to her cheeks, this was Arc! She hated him! She did! It… she… why did she care whether or not he actually gave even the slightest damn about her?
"Weiss?" Ruby asked, Weiss jumping for a moment as her friend stared at her confusedly… ah, oh this was something she needed to cleverly explain.
"I-I… uh… pay attention to the screen, Ruby! I want to be able to laugh fully at you when you are proven wrong!" She declared… internally cringing horribly as Ruby looked at her as if she was insane… which she herself was questioning due to her actions just now…
But instead of dwelling on her own, more than likely dwindling, sanity… Weiss chose instead to watch his answer…
And found herself surprised by it.
"Weiss… hah… do… do you really want my honest answer?" he asked them, Yang and Nora nodding their heads fervently, glee written across their faces. "Okay then… Weiss… she seems so lonely, especially when she first came here… and I hated seeing it… hated seeing her look like all she wanted to do at times was go over, say hi… and just talk to people and have fun… no person our age should look so alone when they're surrounded by people" None noticed, even Jaune with his enhanced hearing, the catch of breath outside the door. What he did notice, was the thumping sound was back, Jaune not paying it much mind as he instead thought of his reasons… "So… So, I guess what I want with Weiss is to make her happy. It was a shame to think it… but that was the case. but that wouldn't stop him! He would find a way someday to make her smile!... that wasn't at him getting punted across the ring whenever he fought Pyrrha… yeah, metal armour had kinda made him a ragdoll that one time he'd gotten a pretty solid hit in on her and Pyrrha had gotten this weird smile… muttering 'he got me… he really hit me!' as she turned things up a notch… well, while he'd gotten his butt handed to him, he was proud to say he had gotten her aura to Yellow! Whoo… wait, where was he? Also, that thumping sound had gotten louder, was someone sparring in their room?
"Uh… Jaune? You… you serious there? You don't care if Weiss never dates you so long as you can make her happy? Despite the fact you ask her out constantly and… well, made it clear you are crushing on her hard with said asking out?" Yang asked incredulously, Nora… what was Nora doing? She was hunched over, giggling to herself eagerly and playing with her Scroll?
"Uh… yeah, honestly… While I really like Weiss… a lot… well, I guess if I can end up just being a friend, being another reason she doesn't have to look so lonely again… well, I guess that's fine with me!" he flashed his best grin, his mom would have called it wolfish, everyone else? He apparently reminded them of a puppy… which he was not! Nope! He was a grown guy now! "Honestly, the only reason I carry on despite how much she yells at me is because I know how good a person she is! I just… well… need to prove to her that I'm not a bad person, well, at least Ruby tells me I'm not"
"Eee! Did you hear that Weiss!?... Weiss? Weiss, what's wrong?" Ruby asked, turning to her bestie who looked… really conflicted… a frown on her face that made Ruby place a hand on her shoulder.
"I… that… oh… He's quite serious, isn't he? I saw the way his tail would wag when he talked about wanting to make me happy… and how it fell still while those ears flattened out when he said he hated seeing me look so lonely…" Ruby patted her back as Weiss clearly came to a realisation that Jaune… well he wasn't as bad as she seemed to think he wa-"I missed out on scratching those adorable ears of his all this time!? And that tail! Dammit! This won't stand!" Weiss roared… as Ruby found her brain stalling… WHAT!?
"Oh for… all this time… I thought that he was some disgusting pervert who was trying to just use me and my status! But he wasn't! And I've lost so much time aweing over those adorable wittle puppy ears and tail! Oh the tail! It looks so fluffy!!!" she cried, smacking her hands into her head with fury… that Ruby did her very best to try and understand just what the heck was going on!
"… What!?" She squeaked, Weiss pausing in her… whatever the heck she was happening! She turned an interesting shade of red as well… huh, she never knew a person so pale could go that red…
"Oh… my… my sincerest apologies, that was… um…" she stalled as Ruby leaned further and further forward, ready and waiting for an answer as to just what her partner had been doing… only for it to die an ugly death as Weiss turned her embarrassed blush into an icy scowl which froze poor little Ruby to the spot. "That was a moment of weakness induced insanity that you will never tell anyone about. I do not want to touch Arc's anything. Is that clear?" She growled, Ruby squeaking the affirmative.
"Y-Yup! That's… that's fine! So.. uh… does this mean you'll be nicer to Jaune now?" she had to ask, that was kind of the whole thing she wanted to accomplish here… also, she really wanted to see how excited Jaune would get when he found out she was responsible for this! Ooo! Maybe he would let her finally take a brush to his tail! Oh! Even better! He could show her how he manages to be nearly as fast as her, on all fours! She... Uh... The last time she tried it, Ruby had ended up falling flat onto her face as Jaune had padded up to her and told her it was okay, he'd been the same... When he was 5.
"… Yes… he… hah, fine I shall admit I may have been wrong about him" She relented, Ruby squeeing in joy. "I… shall be… nicer to Ar-… Jaune… eh, that will take time to get used to" she said, acting as if she had eaten something nasty, Ruby giggling into her hand at the sight.
This was nice… really nice… and this way, they could all hang out together! Huh! She could invite Jaune over to play video games without Weiss thinking he'll go through her underwear draw! Yay!
"So… you say that… but I gotta ask, what about Weiss made you wanna date our resident Ice Queen?"

Jaune once again found himself flushing heatedly… why did they wanna know about that!? Well, he could guess Yang wanting to know… but Nora was usually pretty good at knowing he'd rather not openly talk about this sorts thing!
"C'mon Jauney! Tell us! Never know! It may help you to finally get Weiss to date you!" Nora cheered, Jaune being squished under her arm and… um… a certain place that if Ren ever found out he went, would more than likely arrange something painful to happen to him.
"I-I… uh… Urgh… you aren't gonna give up until I tell you, are you?" He asked, knowing the looks in their eyes very well from the fact he had seen the exact same one on all of his sisters in the past… hah…
"Nope!" they replied, Jaune huffing and grumbling, why did they giggle at his manly groaning!? Oh for, he wasn't a puppy, dang it! It wasn't a puppy noise! It was a proud wolfish noise that would make anyone tremble! His mom had told him so!!!
But… he was also someone who knew it wouldn't get him anywhere with the likes of Nora and Yang around… hah…
"I… I guess it was the moment when I first saw her… even if it didn't really end all that well, heh. She… she was so beautiful… if you told me that she was some kind of angel from the stars, come down to try and help anyone who earned her friendship… I'd have a hard time not believing you…" *thump… thump…* "and the way she smiled so innocently when she, uh… thought I was a dog… such pure joy and happiness that I bet is so rare for anyone to see… her eyes, her hair… they remind me of cold mornings where the fresh snow blankets the ground while a crystal blue sky above…" *thump, thump, thump!* then and there I knew that I… well, I guess I felt something for Weiss… but I… I fell I love with Weiss when I got to see just who she is as a person…"

"Weiss… is incredible… despite how hard it must have been for her to come to a completely new country, and despite the bad start she had with you… Weiss is a great friend to Ruby and is kind enough to help her with whatever she when it comes to homework... She really is so incredibly kind when she feels she can trust someone, wanting to do anything she can to make them happy... And then there's just how... sure of herself she is. She could walk into a room on strangers and just... rule if she wanted to... She also forgave Blake when it came out she used to be White Fang, something even I didn't think would happen!"

He didn't even hear the loud noise that had snagged Nora and Yang's attention... Too focused on thoughts of an angel that had captured by his attention for so long...
"She's strong, she studies so hard to be the very best she can and... Well... She wants to live up to her family legacy... I know that feeling, but Weiss had a much harder battle than me, I honestly wish that someday I can be as brave and amazing as her... so... Yeah, that's why I love Weiss... Ruby froze as she heard Jaune's words… turning like the clunking of that robot she'd made in third grade… to find Weiss was frozen to the spot… eyes wide… and completely and utterly lost for words… before she turned around and began to storm down the hallway with a glare as harsh as winter… oh poop…
Jaune let out a yelp as the door to the room was suddenly booted open, the apocalyptically angry looking Weiss storming up to him and grabbing his collar, forcing him to lean down meaning he got the full brunt of her angry face cold as the storm.
Unable to stop her as the near 5' ballerina imposed her dominance and will upon the 6'2 armoured puppy knight.
"You!" She yelled.
"M-Me?" he meekly replied, fully prepared to get a slap since Weiss had very clearly heard all the awkward, cringy things he'd said.
"You… absolute… idiot!" ah… yeah, he guessed that was fair… heh… welp! He'd take his lumps and… well… he guessed after this, he would give Weiss some space… maybe he just wasn't meant to be friends with Wei-"Why didn't you say these things to me in the first place!?"
… whuh? Came Jaune's very intelligent thought as Weiss looked angrier and angrier as she dragged him closer and closer until their noses were touching… oh gods… why did she have to smell so nice? Like blueberries and winter flowers… Wait… Noooo… don't you dare, tail! He internally yelled, but now that he focused on it, he could tell it was already beginning to do so…
"What was up with all that stupid flirting when you could simply have been honest and just told me your feelings! Are you seriously telling me that you thought badly playing the guitar in front of my door was the best way to go about this when you were keeping things like that hidden from me!? Urgh! I hate you, you stupidly romantic dolt!"
"Uh…" Yep… more incredible and deep thoughts from Jaune Arc… though he couldn't really be blamed since this wasn't something he had ever expected... was... Was Weiss saying what he thought she was saying?
*Wag, wag, wag* went the tail, Jaune finally realising that the thumping sounds he had been hearing... oops? Meh, not much he could do now... But from the near giddy smile on Weiss' face, he guessed she liked it?
Then it slipped and she glared at him again.
"You... Are a dolt of the highest order! You are ridiculous, lack basic gentlemanly attributes, barely know how to interact with those of the opposite sex... you actually thought that your cringe worthy attempts to woo me would work!"
"Sorry..." he whimpered, Weiss' smile turning into a frown as she snatched her head to the side... and then slammed a slip of paper into his hands before stomping over to the door. "Uh... Weiss? What... Is this?"
Without turning around, Weiss stalled in the doorway, Jaune catching her ears turning bright red.
" That is instructions for the reservation you will make at the restaurant you will be taking me to this weekend! Oum knows you need my help!"
"R-restaurant? W-w-wait! You're making it sound like this is... Is a..." aaaaand Weiss was back in his face again with a frostiness to her glare.
"What, have you suddenly lost interest in me?"
"No! This... This is the best day of my life!" he answered, Tail wagging up a storm as joy set in, his ears perking up straight as a near giddy expression overcame his face.
Oh dear gods... He really is just like a puppy... Weiss thought while forcing herself not to coo at the adorableness of it all... To instead prop her head up imperiously and try and pretend she didn't internally squee as those ears wiggled at every little noise around them all... Hah... So many missed opportunities to tickle fwuffy ears... so many nights spent trying to convince herself she hated those things she wanted to scritch with all her heart and soul!!!
Hah... She of all people knew that... Jaune probably wasn't a pervert, and if he was Weiss could easily freeze him in a block of ice, but... She had just been so embarrassed! She had thought she was petting an adorable doggy! And then... Then he had stood up... And up... With a grin on his face that Weiss in her moment of panic, decided was perverted!
It... probably wasn't the best thing that she could have said but... well, a bad experience with a 'fan' of her singing also involving a bush had jaded her to the fact the dolt was more than likely just being Jaune... adorably innocent.
But now... Heh, dammit, this would get made up with by what she was doing.
"And it should be! I am going to be giving you a chance, Arc. To see if your words are true. If you can prove to me that you are in fact a decent person and that you... the real you beneath all those terrible pick up lines is what I just saw? Well... I would not be opposed to mayhaps seeing if a romantic relationship would be possible between us. Now, buy a nice suit, smarten up that mess of hair on your head and buy be some damn flowers! I will be wooed Arc, you hear me? That is, if you want me to even entertain another one!" she bellowed, that grin of his getting wider and wider, eyes sparkling with joy at her words... But she also had another request. "I-if... If you are fine with it... a-as well... I... I would like, if you prove you are telling the truth, I would like to stroke... Stroke your ears whenever I want..." she mumbled, blushing terribly as that wagging fwuffy thing behind him near turned into a propeller... But Jaune?
He smiled down at her with a... With a warm little smile that made her blink... Huh... He had a rather nice smile.
And then he bent down onto one knee, gently taking her hand, crinkling his eyes with a smile and a wiggling of the aforementioned ears...
"Hey, if it makes you happy, then sure! Just be gentle with them" he smiled, Weiss' heart near jumping out of her chest at the sight of him tenderly taking her hand and placing it on the ear... It... It was so soft! So fwuffy!!! Eee!!!
It was the best feeling on the planet! The best! Oh, she wanted this to last forever and ever! She never wanted it to end!
"Hey, uh... Weiss? You having fun over there?" came Yang's quip as Weiss snapped her head to the side to find... So many grinning faces on her as Jaune, blissfully unaware, left a small kiss upon her hand that did not help her blush and promised to make it the best date of her life! Literally 'wooping' in joy as he ran down the hallway.
That... Left her alone... Alone with her teammates and friend who looked at her with grins resembling sharks.
Well.
There was only one acceptable route to such a situation!
"Oh, would you look at the time! Ahah! I will just be going now- ack!" Weiss let out a strangled scream as her damnable friends dragged her into their clutches where they planned on her dress, what she should order, down to the finest detail did they plan this... Oh dear gods... She had just agreed to a date with Jaune Arc... Had been the one to initiate it!
"Oh! You gotta let me know if he does that thing where he chases stuff in his dreams!" Yang cooed in delight, Weiss barely hearing that or the smack Ruby left on her arm.
"Yang! He's not a dog!" she cried hypocritically, Weiss knowing she was desperate to know as well, if her plans to see if Jaune liked to play fetch that Weiss had found under her homework were anything to go off of.
Hah... What hell had she just allowed herself to walk into?
Many years later...
Weiss sighed in silent pleasure as she played with Jaune's dog ears and hair once more, her favourite activity after a stressful day as he murmured in delight at her actions, kicking slightly when her fingers would scritch at just the right place.
Okay... Maybe going on that date wasn't such a bad thing... She had enjoyed a lovely time with him and... And many more after that...
Heh. She guessed she really had struck gold with her puppy knight.
