The Shooting Star kept on searching until it felt the presence of another mage. It then flew off in search of the mage who alerted the broom of his or her presence. As it was searching for the mage, a group of three friends were busy playing music in a garage. Their names were Jacklyn, Laura, and Charlie. Jacklyn was the lead singer and guitarist, Laura was the pianist, and Charlie was the drummer. Jacklyn was a spotted green-eyed cocker spaniel, Laura was a blue-eyed collie, and Charlie was a violet eyed chihuahua.

They were all part of a band they made together named Spice Chord, and they often practiced together after school at Jacklyn's house. They were playing the song Jacklyn designed promoting their love of rock and roll, and other "cool things."

Jacklyn was happy that they had gotten another day of practice in during their summer vacation. Jacklyn had graduated from school already, but her friends/bandmates were still in school. Some good news was her friends would be seniors after Summer Vacation. Laura was also glad with their performance. Laura then told Jacklyn and Charlie that she had designed some new costumes to try on. Laura was not only a pianist, she was also a fashion/costume designer. She often designed clothes for the band, and liked having costume fittings after a performance whenever she finished a new set. She often got her sense of style from an Italian magical girls cartoon that had 3 different dubs: Winx Club. The cartoon had mixed opinions, but Laura was attracted to the show because of the magical girl transformations and the variety of outfits used in the transformations. They ranged from simple dresses to epic warrior outfits. Jacklyn admired Laura as a friend and bandmate because she not only had musical skills, but was incredibly skilled in making clothes. Laura liked fashion, and wanted to be a fashion designer/tailor when she grew up. Jacklyn's dream was to lead her band to fame and fortune, just many other famous rock bands. As for Charlie, she did not have a dream like her two other bandmates, but she liked her life the way it was. Charlie was more into cute things than cool things, but she liked being in the band regardless. Charlie was full of energy and often hyped the band up with her positive attitude.

The girls then went upstairs to wait for Laura to come back with her latest designs. As Jacklyn and Charlie were waiting, Charlie gave Jacklyn a small snack she made. Charlie had a habit of bringing snacks to their meetings, mainly being ones she made herself. Charlie was a skilled baker, and liked sharing her creations with Laura and Jacklyn. It was not long before Laura came in with her newest costumes. Jacklyn was the first to have her costume, then Laura and Charlie. Jacklyn liked Laura's outfit, and decided to keep it. However, as she was waiting for Laura and Charlie to show up with their costumes, she spotted a mysterious shooting star fly by her window. It flew to a nearby forest and landed there.

She was about to get a closer look, but Laura and Charlie came in with their costumes on. After the costume fitting, they all left and returned to their houses. Jacklyn then used her opportunity to see what the shooting star was.
