Adrien jolted up in bed, eyes bleary as a sharp knock at his window startled him awake. He nudged Plagg to get up, just in case Chat Noir needed to make a sudden appearance to fight this mystery intruder. While Plagg whined in protest as he slipped into the pocket of Adrien's nightshirt, Adrien searched wildly in the dark for a make-shift weapon, falling off his bed in the process.

He blamed Plagg for his sudden paranoia, as the kwami insisted they do a horror movie binge right before they headed to bed. It had mainly been an excuse for cheesy popcorn, but he'd managed to convince Adrien somehow and now Adrien was paying the price.

Another knock, more insistent this time, followed. Finding nothing, Adrien abandoned his search before he steeled his nerves. Adrien flicked the lights on in one smooth motion and peered at the shadowy figure outside. Seeing who it was, he rushed to reach her and let her inside.

"Ladybug?" He gasped, his eyes wide in surprise. "What are you doing here?"

For a dreadful moment, Adrien wondered if there was an akuma in the vicinity, but she simply blushed as she took a moment to decide how to phrase her words. His fears alleviated by her reaction, he waited patiently, his happiness at seeing her outweighing the questions flooding his mind.

She looked him in the eye and gave a determined nod before she began to speak. "Y-you see, I was just p-passing by and I heard that there was a meteor show happening tonight?" She phrased it as a question which made Adrien frown.

If he remembered correctly, then there was indeed a meteor show happening tonight. Everyone in his class was going to watch it together in the park. They had gotten special permission from their parents, with a few parents bringing snacks for the kids and chaperoning. He had been invited but his father had deemed it too dangerous, much to his disappointment.

He grabbed his phone to check the text Max had sent the group chat. "There is a meteor shower, Ladybug. My friend says that it's supposed to happen at around 1 am."

"So any moment now," Ladybug concluded. He nodded in agreement. Ladybug fidgeted with her hands before she cleared her throat. "It appears to be that Chat Noir is too busy to join me so would you like to watch the meteor shower with me?"

"Me? Are you sure, Ladybug?" Adrien blinked at her, as his heart thudded loudly in his chest.

She gave a small shrug. "I couldn't think of anyone else I'd like to stargaze with," she blurted out before hurriedly turning away. "Will you come, please?"

As if Adrien could ever refuse her. He eagerly nodded and rushed to get his things so he could go with Ladybug. He paused to give Plagg a suspicious look as the kwami hadn't told him about any messages from Ladybug. Plagg gave him a deadpan stare, making him sigh.

"Everything alright?" At Ladybug's voice, Adrien nearly jumped half a foot in the air. He spun around to face her, cheeks flushing in embarrassment. He ducked his head trying to hide his pink cheeks from her, hoping she wouldn't think of him as a fool. "Sorry! I didn't mean to startle you," Ladybug apologized.

"No! It's fine, I just got lost in my thoughts," Adrien waved his hands frantically in front of his face. "Let's go?" he asked tentatively, hoping Ladybug hadn't changed her mind because of his antics.

In response to his question, she gave him a brilliant smile before suddenly pulling him to her, an arm around his waist. "It's easier to move this way," she said before he could ask and then they were soaring through the air. Adrien had experience with parkour due to being Chat Noir but moving with Ladybug was an entirely different experience.

She was the one in control as she maneuvered them in every which way. All he could think about was the fact that there was no space in between their bodies and that he could smell the perfume she had used. If that meant he took the opportunity to cling onto her tightly, as they swung from rooftop to rooftop, well that was no one's business but his own.

Before long, they arrived at a secluded rooftop Adrien recognized as one where Chat Noir and Ladybug had spent countless afternoons relaxing and talking. For a moment, he felt an intense flare of jealousy and had to remind himself that he was Chat Noir.

"Here," Ladybug called out to him as she tugged blankets and throw pillows out of the corner. He rushed to help her and the two spread warm blankets to sit on with a larger quilt to drape on themselves. "I also have snacks," she smiled at him before pulling out bakery boxes.

Adrien's eyes lit up. "Are these from the Dupain-Cheng bakery?"

"Only the best," she joked back, as she handed him a croissant.

"My favourite," Adrien told her as he eagerly bit into the still-warm bread. She grinned back at him as she scooched over to sit next to him, her arm brushing against his. Everything was surreal. He couldn't believe he was actually sitting here, joking with Ladybug as Adrien.

"I think it's about to start soon," Ladybug hummed, sounding a little unsure.

"Doesn't matter, it's rather nice sitting here like this," Adrien blurted out before realizing what he had just said. He fought the urge to bury his face in his hands.

Ladybug gave a light chuckle as her cheeks began to turn pink. "I think so too," she smiled at him, making Adrien's stomach flip in excitement. They smiled at each other when something caught Ladybug's eye. She tilted her head upwards with a gasp.

Adrien followed her gaze to see what appeared to be stars falling to the ground. The white streaks lit up the dark night sky and for a moment, Adrien was in awe at their beauty.

"It's beautiful," Ladybug breathed, a soft smile playing on her lips. He turned to look at her and he had to redefine the meaning of beauty as his breath caught in his throat. The light of the stars illuminated her, allowing him to see the joy that was written all over her face.

"It really is," he agreed. She cocked her head to look at him, the meteors reflecting off her bright bluebell eyes as if they were mirrors. Ladybug hesitantly smiled at him while she worked on deciphering what he had said.

He could pinpoint the exact moment it occurred to her because her face turned as bright as her suit. "J-just watch the meteors," she grumbled.

Adrien's heart leapt to his throat. For all his flirting as Chat Noir, Ladybug had never reacted this way. Mustering all of his courage, Adrien reached for her hand and laced their fingers together.

He could hear Ladybug's sharp intake of breath before she tightened her grip around his hand. The remaining tension in his shoulders drained away as a huge grin overtook his face. He could still hear his heart pounding furiously in his chest, especially a few moments later when Ladybug rested her head on his shoulder.

Slowly, giving her enough time to move away, he rested his head on hers. Adrien felt hyper-aware of every little movement Ladybug made as she shifted against him to get more comfortable. It was every fantasy of his coming true. The meteor shower was gorgeous but Adrien was far more interested in taking peeks at Ladybug to convince himself that it was really her.

On one such glance, his eyes met Ladybug's. They stared at each other for a few moments; Adrien was completely mesmerized by the twinkle in her eyes. Slowly, tearing his eyes away from her intense gaze, he took in every part of her, his gaze finally dropping to her lips.

Ladybug licked her lips and the sight of that small, pale tongue made Adrien's throat dry up. Mustering all of his self control, he tried to move away from her but her grip on his hand tightened further. With a jolt, he realized she was staring at his lips too.

Heart thudding, he moved in, eyes flicking up to try and read her reaction. When he had gotten within an inch of her lips he paused, waiting for Ladybug to make her move. Smoothly, without hesitating, Ladybug closed the gap between them.

It was all he had ever dreamed of, his hand coming up to cup her cheek as she rested her hands on his shoulders. Ladybug broke the kiss to look at him, clearly trying to gauge his reaction, doubt showing in her eyes. A smile crept onto his face as he reconnected their lips, feeling her melt against him.

They kissed beneath the night sky, the sight of the falling stars long forgotten.
