Two figures awoke to a bright sunrise. They were atop a mountain, overlooking a bright neon city.
"Where are we? And how did we get here?" one of the figures asked. He was wearing an orange and blue gi.
"I don't know, Kakarot, but it's quite clear that we aren't in West City," the other figure said. He wore a blue jumpsuit with white gloves, boots and chestplate.
"Whoa, Vegeta, you sense that?" Goku asked.
"Yeah," Vegeta answered. "Powerful ki, and it isn't far. Let's go."
Goku and Vegeta took off from the mountain and soared into the skies. The city below was in ruin, buildings toppled, and skyscrapers destroyed.
Then, a loud roar. It was enough to stop both Saiyans in their tracks.
"Damn, what was that?" Goku said, still covering his ears.
"Look, Kakarot!" Vegeta pointed.
A huge spiny lizard and a giant brown gorilla were below. They dwarfed the buildings around them.
Goku and Vegeta gasped in awe.
"These things are huge! What the hell is this?" Vegeta asked.
As the two large monsters continued to stare, another roar was heard. However, it did not seem natural but mechanical and artificial.
Turning their heads, the Saiyans, Titans and humans all watched as an even larger creature rose from the rubble. It was badly damaged, but it was undoubtedly a robotic version of the spiny lizard.
"Another one?! That one's like the lizard, but an android!" Goku said.
"Their energy levels are low," Vegeta observed. "I'm guessing they fought this one earlier, but now, they're too weak."
"Then we'll fight it ourselves," Goku said with a thumbs-up.
Vegeta nodded. "Fine, then I'll go first."
"No, I will," Goku argued.
"Fine, we'll settle this with rock-paper-scissors," Vegeta suggested. Goku nodded.
Together, they raised their fists while saying "Rock, paper, scissors!" before revealing their choices. Goku had paper, while Vegeta used rock.
"Ugh! Damn you, Kakarot! Being the idiot you are, I thought you would've done scissors again."
Goku giggled, happy with his success.
"Don't get too comfortable. Something tells me that I'll be getting involved as well." Goku chuckled and dived towards the ground.
The robot monster was getting ready to charge a breath attack. People below ran for their lives, whether in cars or on foot. Tired and exhausted, Godzilla and Kong looked on, unable to stop it.
"Oh no, you don't! HA!" Goku shouted. He punched Mechagodzilla's jaw, shattering it into fragments. However, the mechanical beast remained standing.
"I saved the people below, but that's all my punch did? I guess I'll have to get more serious!" Goku began to yell as a golden aura apparated around his body. His hair was blond, and his eyes were cyan. His transformation was bright enough to rival the sunrise. Everyone shielded their eyes, even Kong and Godzilla.
"Now, witness the power of a Super Saiyan!"
In response, Mechagodzilla fired a barrage of rockets. With ease, Goku either destroyed or dodged them all. However, he failed to notice Mechagodzilla's tail, which slammed him into a building.
Groaning in pain, Goku barely had time to react to Mechagodzilla's tail tip, which was spinning rapidly like a drill. Using all of his strength, Goku was struggling to keep the tail from skewering him.
Then, a bright flash struck Mechagodzilla's tail, causing it to fall off. It was Vegeta, who was also a Super Saiyan.
"Phew! Thanks a lot, Vegeta!" Goku sighed.
"Idiot," Vegeta said. "Try to be more careful, would you?"
Goku chuckled while scratching his head in embarrassment. In a split second, his face went from smiling to serious. Soaring, he flew towards Mechagodzilla's left leg, while Vegeta attacked the right one. They would split up and attempt to bring the tin monster down.
After multiple punches, kicks and ki blasts, Mechagodzilla's legs became too weak to support his massive weight. They snapped like twigs, sending him crashing to the ground.
Even though he now lacked legs, Mechagodzilla was still able to catch Vegeta in his hand. Using his remaining strength, he threw Vegeta into the road below, creating an indent. Mechagodzilla then raised his hand, If it wasn't for Goku's Destructo Disc severing the arm, Vegeta would've certainly been crushed.
"Looks like it's my turn to save you, Vegeta!" Goku said.
"Shut up, Kakarot!"
Vegeta grunted in frustration. "Tch! You made a serious mistake by messing with the prince of Saiyans, monster android! This ends here and now! Final…"
Meanwhile, Goku also charged an attack of his own.
"Ka…Me…Ha…Me…"
"…Flash!"
"Ha!"
Both Goku and Vegeta's attacks combined to form a single, stronger blast. A blast that would happen to be the last thing Mechagodzilla ever sees.
After the explosion and dust cleared, scrap metal fell down from the sky like rain. One piece of scrap interested Goku in particular. Bending down, he picked it up.
"What is that?" Vegeta asked.
"I dunno, but it's glowing red, so it must be important," Goku said while looking at the piece before putting it in his gi.
Turning around, Goku and Vegeta saw a huge crowd of people, who were cheering and praising them. Goku smiled and waved, while Vegeta simply crossed his arms. However, he noticed a particular group of people who weren't celebrating, but discussing amongst themselves. When a couple of them noticed he was glancing in their direction, they gestured for them to come over.
Vegeta tapped Goku's shoulder. "Kakarot, look."
Seeing what was happening, Goku nodded. The two Saiyans walked over. There were seven of them, four adults, two teenagers, and a young girl.
"Hi guys!" Goku said in his friendly demeanor. "Hope you guys aren't hurt."
"That was amazing! You did something that even the Titans struggled to do!" one of the teenagers said. She seemed ecstatic with the Saiyans. "Who are you, and how did you do that?!"
One of the adults, presumably her father, stepped in.
"Now, Madison, give them some space. Hi, I'm Mark Russell and this is my daughter, Madison. That's Josh, Bernie, Ilene, Nathan and Jia."
Everyone waved.
"Hey, I'm Goku, and this is Vegeta. I'm super excited about those monsters, they seem super strong."
"'Strong' is an understatement," Nathan said.
"Well, that's our job," Mark said. "We dedicate our careers to studying and learning about Godzilla, Kong, and this planet's other Titans."
Ilene and Jia were communicating in sign language.
"What, the kid can't talk?" Vegeta asked.
"She's deaf, so she needs to use sign language," Ilene explained.
Vegeta simply scoffed.
"Anyway," Goku said. "When we beat the evil robot, I found this, could it be important?"
Opening his gi, Goku revealed the scrap that was glowing red.
"I believe this could be," Bernie said. "We need to plug this into a computer ASAP."
"If Apex was using Monster Zero's consciousness to process Mechagodzilla's power, I don't know. The last thing I want is Ghidorah in my laptop," Josh said.
"What do we do now?" Ilene asked.
"We got to find out what's on that drive. It could contain useful Apex information," Nathan said.
"What are waiting for? Let's go!" Goku said.
