Now enjoy reading!
Jasmine was in her garden, sitting on the edge of her fountain, her tiger at her feet. The current situation exasperated her to the utmost. She had more than enough of all these suitors marching past to be able to add her to their conquest. They didn't understand what she was feeling. All they were interested in was marrying her to take her father's place when the time came. Why couldn't she rule Agrabah alone ? She dreamed of her independence, of being able to decide her future for herself. Sometimes she regretted being born a princess, if she had been born as a man things would have been so much easier. She could have lived the life she had always wanted, going out in her city, having responsibilities to be able to help her city... and so much more.
"Oh Rajah, you are lucky to be a tiger. You have no problem." she huffed as she ran her hand over the feline's back, still lying at her feet. As she imagined herself alone on the throne, living the life she had always dreamed of leading, she heard a person silently approach her.
"Hello Princess."
She recognized the hoarse voice that had settled behind her. Rajah started to stand up and growled. He stuck out his claws and showed his sharp fangs. It's as if he too feels that the person behind them is full of animosity.
"Gently Rajah." she huffed, stroking his head. He lay down again at her feet but stayed awake to watch the intruder approaching his mistress.
"My day is already bad with the imminent arrival of Prince Harmed, why are you wasting my only moment of peace?" Jasmine rallied, not even giving a glance at the vizier.
"I was just coming to see if you were okay." Jafar hissed quietly, his hands clasped behind his back, little taken aback by her attitude. She was so wild, it was difficult to maintain a parcific dialogue with her. Besides, for as long as he could remember, his relationship with the princess has always been slightly strained. It was as if between them, it was something natural to provoke, it had become like a game between them.
"Of course I'm fine. What do you want to happen to me? I'm confined here day and night. You make sure that happens."
"It's for your own good, princess."
"Yes of course ... Go, I want to be alone."
Jafar was exasperated. The princess was the most stubborn person he knew. He knew that Jasmine didn't like him. Yet he had never done anything against her. He had even tried to appear 'nice' sometimes, but it looked like she could see that his intentions weren't very laudable. She was the only one to realize it. All the people in this palace were devoid of intelligence. He had no trouble getting a number of important people under his control. But she ... It was a waste of time. She had such a strong character that you would have to be very careful with her for hypnosis. A single lack of attention, and it was all over for him ... She would denounce him, have him banned or worse.
"Why don't you appreciate me princess?" Jafar asked, waiting for a serious answer from her.
Strangely, Jasmine was confused by his question. She didn't really know what to say. Yes, she didn't like the vizier, but she found it hard to say why. For her he was a bad person. She couldn't believe his sincerity. He was like the others, trying to gain favor with her father. She couldn't convince herself otherwise. She quickly searched for an answer, not wanting to lose face in front of him.
"You are manipulating my father, you are taking advantage of your status of vizier and abusing your power."
Fortunately the princess wasn't looking at him, so she couldn't see the smile on his face. She couldn't imagine how right she was ...
"But what are you talking about? Do you have any proof? I'm only doing what I'm here for. I'm helping our city by advising your father on how to do it. That's my role ..."
Jasmine didn't answer, searching for the lie in his voice.
"Really? Do you have any examples?" Jasmine scoffed.
"Of course." Jafar smiles. "But as you said, Prince Harmed is coming soon. I'll leave you alone to take advantage of the time you have left. I invite you to join me in my quarters if you want to discuss my blessings on our city... " Jafar proposed, an idea in his head.
"Yes we will see." Jasmine sighed, indifferent. She didn't intend to join him, all she wanted was for him to go. She heard him leave without another word and took advantage of her last peaceful minutes.
Jafar was now in his private quarters. He smiles, thinking of his interview with the princess. He had always wanted to put Jasmine under his hypnosis. But given her strong character, he doubted it would work on her. If he wanted to hypnotize her, he would first have to weaken her morally or make her less suspicious of him. He wasn't even sure she would join him at the end of the day. She only wanted to get rid of him. But if she ever did come anyway, it might be a good time to try to finally bring her under his control. He saw Dalia walk past the huge open door to her quarters. An idea occurred to him. He hurried out to call the young maid.
"Dalia! Come here please." the vizier ordered before she was completely out of reach.
The young woman froze when she heard him. The vizier scared her so much. She found him so dark and intimidating. With his tall, slender figure, his red and black clothes, and his self-confident demeanor, she felt like she was facing evil incarnate.
"Uh yes can I help you?" she asked sheepishly.
The vizier smiled as he noticed how intimidated she looked in front of him.
"Yes indeed you can. You see, I am trying to make the princess appreciate me, and you can help me."
Dalia was almost shocked, she didn't understand what he want to say. Jafar kept his smile and subtly approached his personal snake to the maid.
"You are going to send a message to the princess from me. Let me explain ..." he huffed out as Dalia's eyes froze against the ruby eyes of the serpent.
Jasmine was on her balcony, watching the sun slowly set. Agrabah was truly magnificent at this hour. The smell of spices, cooked meats or other specialties of the city reached her nostrils. She could see movements of flame in the distance, probably flame-eaters who were showing their skills to earn some money. Oh, she would like so much to be able to visit her city more closely. She was the princess and she was doomed to see her city from afar... This magnificent view she had on the city allowed her to dream, far from her current situation. That's all she could do. This morning after Prince Harmed's dismissal, her father had come to lecture her again, saying that her next birthday was fast approaching and that she had to find a husband. Still in disagreement, they argued again. He couldn't understand. No one could. She felt so alone, so trapped in her own life. Her very existence was a prison from which she could not escape.
She was out of her dreams of freedom when she heard a knock on her door. She walked into her room without envy and took a breath.
"Come in!" The door opened to make room for Dalia, her closest maid. Finally, a friendly face. "Oh Dalia it's you, come." she smiles at her, not wanting to share her unhappiness with her.
"I didn't call you, do you need something?" Dalia smiles.
"It is not you who have to bring me some things, princess. I am the handmaiden and it is me which have to satisfy you."
"Oh Dalia, you know you're my only friend in this palace. If there's anything I can help you with, I'm here. It's not like I was very busy..." said Jasmine ironically.
"Thank you ... Not all princesses are as good as you." Jasmine smiles back.
"Hmmm, I came on behalf of the vizier. He's sending me to remind you that you should join him to discuss the city of Agrabah."
Jasmine laughed nervously.
"Does he really think I'm coming? I just wanted to get rid of him this morning." she replied before turning her back on her maid.
"You know, this meeting would allow you to let off steam ... I know very well that your situation makes you angry. And since you hate the vizier, it would allow you to let off steam, my princess."
Jasmine smiled at her demonic idea. Yes, it's true that letting off steam on this poor vizier would do her good. Jasmine hesitated. She had enough confrontation for the day and she wasn't sure she could endure another one, especially with the vizier.
"Hmmm ok maybe you're right. After all, if he told me about Agrabah, this discussion might prove to be interesting." Jasmine scoffed as she took the road to the vizier's quarters, before Dalia leaves her room with amical smile.
Jasmine calmly walked towards the vizier's apartments. She had no idea what to say to him once she saw him. Usually she fled his contact, and when she saw him it was against her will ... This time it was she who was going to look for him, that was very unusual. She got to his rooms faster than she wanted.
The moment Jasmine entered his private quarter, Jafar smiled, both on the outside to show welcoming, and on the inside, seeing that his "reminder" to Dalia had perfectly worked. He knew very well that provocation would be the best way to bring the princess. He got up from his chair to greet the young woman. He bowed respectfully to her while spreading his cloak to either side.
"I expected you, your greatness."
Then he sat down gracefully on his soft cushions. knowing full well Jasmine would, naturally, prefer to stand over him, as nobody should sit higher than royalty, and it gave the impression of superiority. She was in the perfect position, as he had expected; she would have to be facing both him and his staff for the spell to work.
"All right, I am here," said Jasmine, snide and sarcastically, knowing the only way she was here was to take her frustration out on him. "I understand you passed on to Dalia. Know that she is not at your service."
"Indeed, i did it," said Jafar. "So that you wouldn't forget. It was fortunate; I met your handmaiden on the way back to my chambers, and passed on the reminder. But you know, your handmaiden sympathizes with me completely. I'm sure it made her happy to do me a little favor." said Jafar, though in reality, it was as easy to put the handmaiden under his spell in the same way as the Sultan. She was far from having a mind as solid as that of the princess.
"What do you want Jafar?" snapped Jasmine rudely.
"Come closer, please, I can't hear you or see you properly," said Jafar, seeing Jasmine was close to the door, no doubt to get out as quickly as possible once she has had enough. Pouting, Jasmine stormed over to Jafar.
"Yes ?" she hissed.
She stood above him with her arms folded...exactly as Jafar had expected. As he spoke, ensuring she was paying attention to him, the ruby eyes glowed on his staff. He was confident that Jasmine would look at them at the same time she looked at him.
He spoke, merely bringing up trivial matters of the law and the necessity of a prince while keeping the staff focused on her.
All the while, Jasmine was getting bored of his words. She would have preferred him to tell her about the city itself, not the rules constantly reminding her why she was forced to find a husband or why she was condemned to stay in the palace. It was a waste of time. She doesn't know what she was told herself she shouldn't have come... Suddenly something else was grabbing her attention: Jafar's staff. Eventually, her eyes fixed from Jafar to the staff itself. The kaleidoscopic spirals were starting to reflect in Jasmine's eyes, filling her vision. Soon the eyes were all that she could see. The more she gazed into it, the more drawn to it she became. She didn't know why, but she couldn't look away. The sparkle of the rubies was so attractive, beautiful and pleasing to the eye. She didn't even want to look away.
Her usually hazel eyes turned bright red and gold, her pupils shrinking to whiteness before golden and red spirals swirled around the blank space where her pupils were. With a little attention, it was possible to see the reflection of Jafar's staff in his eyes. Her own mind was becoming blank, her jaw relaxed, her arms went slack.
Seeing she was now focused, Jafar began his soothing words of control.
"Yeeeees, princesssss," he said smoothly. "Soon, you will find more than your usual princes." He said getting up to be in front of her now.
Her speech was slurring; the trance was affecting her speech. She found the voice of her interlocutor so attractive and could not help listening to him with extreme attention. This voice was so restful. It was so good, so delicious…
As she remained still, Jafar slowly circled around her, like a predator surrounding its defenseless prey. He took advantage of her carelessness to approach her and observed her whole body, now so close to hers. He saw how beautiful Jasmine was when she was hypnotized. So helpless under his spell… But she didn't need to be under hypnosis to be radiant. She was of rare beauty. Knowing that no prince had yet succeeded in taming this tigress increased his longing.
He knew his goal was only to bring her under his control, but seeing her like that defenseless gave him nasty thoughts, she was so attractive that he could not resist. While the princess was still motionless, he set his staff aside. With a smile, he approached her, his hands wrapped around any bared skin the princess exposed. Without realizing it, Jasmine instinctively put her hands on his. This is the first time the princess has touched him on purpose. Her skin was so soft. He moved closer to her, and as her sweet scent filled his nostrils, he leaned down and kissed her gently. He never imagined he could one day enjoy the softness of her lips. He was pleasantly surprised when he found that, even under hypnosis, Jasmine responded to his touch and parted her lips for another kiss. He could have stayed there kissing her indefinitely, it's so good to feel her in his arms like that, this usually inaccessible woman… It was so delicious, so intoxicating, so…
Jafar suddenly felt the princess's fingers tighten lightly on his suddenly blinked awake. Headstrong as she was, her intuition, nullified by the spell, woke her. Jafar's words were droning on and on, and the next thing she knew, she was in an embrace with him...she was kissing her own vizier!
Coming to her senses, Jasmine pushed him away strongly and screamed, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING, JAFAR?!" She was lost, how could such a thing have happened? She didn't understand the situation. Everything was very blurry. A few moments ago she was listening to him talk about the laws of Agrabah, and a moment later she was kissing him.
For a brief moment, Jafar was perplexed. How did she come awake…? What a shame to have ended such a good time. But then it occurred to him that she couldn't hypnotized. So he had to improvise, mentally noting that next time he will keep the staff to her eyes until she was under total control, a slave to his spell.
"Why, princess," he said, destabilized. "I have done nothing! You forced yourself on me. It was all so unexpected I couldn't push you away." He complimented, hoping to flatter her.
"I...did ?" said Jasmine, lost. "I…"
"Is it entirely possible that you despise every and all suitors who come to call that you are willing to consider me?" offered Jafar with a little smile, knowing full well she wouldn't take that remark seriously.
"I...I have to...I have to go." Jasmine contented herself, very embarrassed by the situation.
She left abruptly, but this wasn't the Jasmine who walked into his chambers just mere minutes before. If it was, she would've scoffed rudely, told him to see a healer, and just cold-shouldered him. But Jafar knew why: his hypnotic spell had quite the effect on Jasmine, on the mind of the princess. She was uncertain, lost. And she would probably be more embarrassed to see him again after sharing a tender kiss with him...
When Jasmine left, Jafar schemed more.
"Oh, that was so good," he breathed softly. "It would probably be easier next time, but I'll have to be careful. I must see her again. And this time, she will not escape the spell so easily."
Short story but I hope you like it. The sequel is coming very soon :)
