Jason's Choice

This is a one-shot where Jason gets to choose whether to stay with the ones he loves in Heaven or take a chance and try to change his life. This is not a friendly Jarly story. I don't own the characters, they belong to ABC and General Hospital.

This is one-shot for Jason. Jason has been shot and he has a chance to make his best life possible. He can choose to stay with his loved ones that have passed over or he can choose to change one thing that he believes will make him happy. What or who will he choose? Will he stay with his loved ones in heaven? Read and you will find out. It is not a Jasam or Jarly kind of story. I do not own the characters. They belong to ABC and General Hospital.

Jason's life is not in his own hands. He has always let someone else take his choices away. The worst part of that, is the one person who he loves with his whole heart, believes that he does not love or trust her enough. Elizabeth will always be the one that got away, but that was on them. They wanted to keep everyone happy and because of that, they were the only ones that were not happy.

Sonny believed that Jason would leave him if he ever got involved with Elizabeth Webber. Sonny knew that she was the one that he would lay his life down for and it made him lose his mind. Sonny was bi-polar and when he took his meds, he could be reasoned with, but without them he was his own worst enemy. There was always someone that got caught in the crossfire. Sonny knew that he needed to take out Elizabeth and her son. He knew how to use Sam's jealousy for Jason to make her do what he wanted to do. She did not even realize that she was being played. She truly thought that she thought about it on her own.

Sonny met Sam over drinks, and he told her that he saw Jason talking to the young nurse the other day. She looked so cute in her outfit and he could tell that Jason wanted her. He did not do anything, but Sonny made her think if Sonny were not there that something would have happened. Elizabeth was pregnant with her child at that time. Sonny had told her about the brakes in Elizabeth's car. The brakes go out and so does Sam's problems.

Sam did what Sonny asked her to do. Elizabeth had decided to go for a drive up to "No Where" when her brakes went out. She crashed her vehicle, but she was lucky that someone saw what happened and got her the help she needed. The baby was fine, but Elizabeth needed to stay home for the next couple of weeks, until her ribs healed. That was her main injury. Jason had someone look over Elizabeth's car and found out that someone had tampered with it.

Jason had Elizabeth and Cameron move in with him. He did not know who hurt her, but he wanted to make sure that she was safe. When Sonny found out about it, he was not happy. Jason thought it was because someone tried to hurt her, but when Jason realized that Sonny wanted her out of the picture, he became quiet. Sonny was too into himself to even notice that Jason had got quieter than normal. Spinelli accidently told him that Samantha fixed Elizabeth's car. He saw her under the nurse's car, and he wondered why. Jason then knew that his best friend and girlfriend wanted Elizabeth dead.

Jason then talked to Elizabeth about fleeing the country and living in Italy. They could talk to Maximus and asked to be under his protection. Elizabeth told him that she would love to go. She had always wanted to go to Italy, and she knew that Cameron would love it too. Jason planned on taking her the next day. He had one more meeting to go too and then he would be all set. The meeting was going to be at Jake's. Sonny, Max, Milo and Sam were there for the meeting.

Sonny had Jason sit down. "I want you to know that I am doing this for your own good. I need you to stay here and take care of your responsibilities. Elizabeth is not your responsibility. Sam is your girlfriend. That is who you should be taking care of and not that nurse. I will make it easy for you. Either you do what I want you to do, or I will take out Elizabeth and her son. You stay and do what is needed to be done, then everything will be alright."

Jason got up and walked out the door. He had Max and Milo follow him home. Max knew that Jason planned on going to see his dad the next day. He wanted to help him, but he was afraid of Sonny. "Just be careful".

Sonny was not going to let Jason leave. He and Sam went to the penthouse. Cameron was asleep upstairs, and Jason and Elizabeth were watching a movie when Sonny and Sam broke the door down. Sonny shot Jason twice while Sam shot at Elizabeth. Jason was able to get Sonny, but not Sam. Sonny was dead before he hit the ground. Sam ran out of the penthouse. She took the stairs and was shot at a couple of times, but they missed her. The rescue was called and the police too.

Emily was able to take Cameron until they knew what was going on with Jason and Elizabeth. Elizabeth died a few hours after Sonny. Jason went into a coma as soon as he shot Sonny. They did not know if he was going to make it. Emily was fighting with Lucky and Audrey for who was going to take care of Cameron if anything happened to his mother. They were going to wait for Diane to tell who had custody of the young boy. Emily was the one that Elizabeth chose to take care of her son with Zander.

Jason could feel himself leaving his body. He saw his grandmother, Lila. She was waiting for him. She missed him terribly, but she knew that he had more important things to think about. He saw Elizabeth and their child. It was a little girl that they named Isabella, or Bella for short. Cameron was alone and its broke Elizabeth's heart to see that, but she was away from everyone that wanted to hurt her, including her own family.

Lila looked at her grandson and knew that he deserved the true happiness that he missed after the accident with AJ. "Jason. I want you to listen to me. This is very important. You have some tough choices to make before anything changes. The first thing is whether you want to stay here and leave Cameron behind or if you want to go back into one part of your life and change something that has bothered you. It can be before your accident with AJ. It can be when you got shot and went to the boxcar. It can be when Elizabeth was trying to tell you that she loved you. It is all up to you. You know who you can truly trust. The rest will take care of itself."

Jason saw how beautiful Elizabeth looked and their daughter. "I am going back to take care of Cameron. I want so badly to stay but I must right a few wrongs and Sonny is one of them. I am just not sure how to do it. Please pray that I do the right thing. Look over Cameron and me. I will never forget you or us."

Jason knew exactly when he wanted to come back. It was when he got shot and went to the boxcar. He knew that he needed to show Elizabeth exactly how much he loved her. He was not going to put Sonny or Carly first. He was going to help his brother, AJ get custody of Michael and cut all ties to the ones who betrayed him. Then he did not know what he was going to do.

Elizabeth found Jason lying in the snow. She first thought he was dead, but the closer she got the more she realized that he was alive. She helped him into the boxcar and later to her studio. The first few days were just like they were before because he was hurt and the most, he did was sleep. He did that and ate soup that Elizabeth made for him.

One of the days he was really starting to feel more like himself, he realized that this was his second chance. He knew what was going to happen and how. He just had to change something and soon, so Sonny did not try to kill him again. "You are my angel. I can see you on top of my Christmas tree this year. You are the most beautiful woman I know."

Liz laughed because she figured his medication was making him say it. "Save some of that happy juice for me. I might need it with the customers at Kelly's. I must go back tomorrow but Johnny or Francis will be around. They promise not to let Sonny or Carly know where you are and how you are doing. They have brought you duffle bag over so you can take a shower when you are up to it and change your clothes. There are some of your travel guides in there and I will see if I can find something interesting at the library."

Elizabeth was going to leave when Jason pulled her down on him. He kissed the top of her head and whispered how thankful he was to have someone take care of him like she did. Then he fell back to sleep.

Elizabeth for some reason was feeling a bit of déjà vu. She felt like she had lived through this before, but she knew that she had not. She just could not shake off the feeling that Jason was going to be a huge part of her life. She also felt that Lucky was alive and that if or when he came back that she should stay far away from him.

The next two weeks were crazy. It was Christmas time, and everyone was in the mood for celebrating. Carly followed Liz home one day and saw Jason. She walked into the studio apartment like she had before, and Jason told her exactly how he felt about her and Sonny.

"Carly. I have realized some things in my life and that you are not one of the important ones in my life. I will always love Michael, but he needs to spend time with his father. My brother may not be perfect, but he deserves to know his son. I am not sure if I am going to be staying around Port Charles much longer. I think it is time that I break ties before someone gets hurt."

"I understand that you need to get away. Michael and I can come with you. He would love to travel to new places with you and so would I. You know I love you and that you will always love me. We make the perfect family. Sonny was a mistake. You must know that. I was mad at you and had too much to drink. It won't happen again."

Jason started laughing as Elizabeth walked in the room. "Carly. You have not heard a word I said. I do not love you. I do not even really like you now. Michael is my nephew and that will never change. He will always have a piece of my heart, but you are not the reason why. You need to get over yourself. I think it's time that you go."

Elizabeth just went to put her things away when Carly started yelling and throwing things around the studio. "I guess Sonny needs to know that you are alright and can go back to work. That will make him feel much better. You will be in the penthouse right across from me so I can take care of you instead of little "Muffin" face. Jason needs someone who is strong and capable. Not a spineless little girl like you."

Jason was about to get up but got a bit dizzy. Carly ran back into the studio and pushed Elizabeth away. This is when Jason realizes that he needs to make changes and it needed to start then. "Carly. What is wrong with you? You need to apologize to Elizabeth. She has been taking care of me since she found me next to the boxcar. You have torn up her place and you pushed her down. This is the last time that I am going to speak to you. You need to find someone else to clean up your messes."

The next day things did start to change. Carly was on a rampage and she told Audrey who she had staying at her studio. She had her mother fire the young waitress and she told Sonny where to find Jason. When Carly was through all hell broke loose.

Audrey went to the studio and told her that starting in January she had to pay for the studio on her own or come back to her house. Bobbie let her go so she did not have to listen to Carly all day. The one thing that Carly truly thought would force Jason back to the penthouse was Sonny coming over to the studio.

Sonny walked inside the studio like he owned it. He told Jason that he was good enough to go back home. He would make sure that everything was taken care of, so he did not have to worry about anything. He found out that Johnny and Francis knew so he fired the two of them.

"I do want you to know that you are family. I would do anything for you, but you are leaving the way you did was unacceptable. I fired Johnny and Francis for lying to me and you cannot do this again. You are my best employee. I would be in trouble if you did not work for me. Everyone else is expendable."

Sonny helped Jason off the couch and grabbed his duffle bag. He did not even acknowledge Elizabeth at all. Jason knew that he had to do something and the only thing to do was to take Elizabeth and leave Port Charles.

"I quit. I am not going to be used like I am your property. Carly has the world mad at Elizabeth because she was not allowed to take care of me. I do not want or need anything from either one of you. Elizabeth has done more for me than the two of you combined. All you have ever done is use me. I can see that if I stay after your betrayal that I will never have a life. I know that you slept with Carly. It was pretty evident when she came down your stairs in your shirt. I was going to tell you that I was shot then. I realized that you set me up so you could have her. She is all yours. Elizabeth found me and has been taking care of me. She did not have to do that, but she did. I am leaving town right after Christmas. I do not know where I am going or when I will be back if ever. I am glad that you showed up. It gives me one less thing to do. Carly, I have talked to my family and they will be hiring a lawyer to get custody of Michael. Good luck to the both of you."

Carly started yelling and the neighbors called the police. They came down to the studio and had a field day with the four of them. When it was all said and done, Elizabeth knew that she was finished with Port Charles. Jason looked at Taggert and told him that Carly and Sonny came in causing trouble because they think they own me. "I am thinking about getting on my bike and leaving town for good too."

Monica, Emily and AJ met the young couple at the police station. "I heard a rumor that you might need a ride home. You can stay with us for a couple of days before you leave. Lila has been telling tales on you, Jason. She thinks that you and Elizabeth need a break for a while. She said that anytime that you are ready, she will give you the keys to anywhere you want to go. The family has homes everywhere. You can just hide out for a while until you figure everything out."

Elizabeth looked at Jason. She knew he was going to ask her, but she needed to hear the words. They made it to the mansion and Elizabeth felt overwhelmed. She had been there plenty of times because Emily is her best friend. It just seemed so different because she had a feeling that she might not be back for a long time.

Lila asked Jason and Elizabeth to come into the living room. She had something for the two of them. "Okay. This is going to stay between the three of us. I am not sure if you remember anything Elizabeth or maybe a feeling of déjà vu. This is Jason's second chance. I am here to make sure that he gets it. I had a feeling that you were going to pick this time. This was a time that was mainly about you and Elizabeth. There were no other people involved except Sonny and Carly. The two of them are there worst own enemies. We will make sure that Michael is happy and safe. I have a list of different places that you can go too. You can start out at one and then figure where to go to next or you can travel for a while and then decide on where to live. Elizabeth, you have a talent that is rare. You need to keep up with your painting. There are plenty of places to study, but I think living your life is the best way to go. Just believe in yourself like Jason believes in you. Like I believe in both of you. I love the both of you very much."

Emily heard part of what her grandmother said, and she realized that her best friend was in love with her brother. They might not know it yet, but when you look at them, it is easy to see. "Liz, I heard that your favorite Christmas movie is on tonight. I was thinking that maybe we can have one last movie marathon before you leave. Unless you rather hang out with my brother."

Liz blushed and Jason knew that he needed to see Francis and Johnny before he left. "I am going to see Johnny and Francis. I want to apologize to them for getting fired. It was not their fault that Sonny is an ass. We might hang out at Jake's and crash there. I will call if I do that. Ems take care of my beautiful girlfriend. She has places she needs to go. When you have some free time, you need to catch up with us."

He hugged his sister and Elizabeth before heading out to see his two best friends. Emily and Liz went up to Em's room to start their movie marathon. "Okay. I do not want you to think that I am crazy, but I believe that Lucky is still alive. It is a feeling that I have and that he is up in Canada somewhere. I do not want to hurt Nik, but I think that his grandmother had something to do with it. I love your brother. I am not sure exactly when it happened, but it did. I still have a lot of love and respect for Lucky, but I cannot be with him. Just try to get Nik to try looking in Canada. I could be wrong and the dreams that I have been having are really off, but I truly believe that it is true."

Em looked at her best friend and hugged her. "I believe you. I have been having those same dreams. If the dreams were really what happened and Jason is being given a second chance, then take it. If you stay, you will be trapped just like if Jason stays. I will pray for you both and for Lucky. Just remember that if you need me or anyone here, we will be there for you and Jason."

Jason met up with Johnny and Francis. The three of them decided to team up. "I am sorry that I got you fired. Sonny is crazy if he thinks that I will stay and be his puppet for the rest of my life. He can have Carly and I will find a life outside of Port Charles. The problem is where to go, and I need to see if I have permission to do so."

"Johnny and I have a meeting with the five families right after the new year. It will be in New York City on the third. I could see if they could fit you in too. It is going to be about Sonny firing us because of looking out for you. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I am just glad that I am not working for him anymore. I don't think that Sonny is invited."

The three of them hung out and crashed upstairs in the rooms above Jake's. Em and Liz had finished watching their third movie and were sound asleep on the floor in front of the television. Popcorn was in their hair from their popcorn fight. Jason had already called Elizabeth to tell her what was going on. She told him to take it easy and that she would see him the next day.

"Em. Jason and I are going to New York City for New Year's Eve. Do you want to go, or do you have a hot date for that night? There is a meeting for Johnny and Francis because of Sonny firing them for protecting Jason. Jason plans on going too and seeing if he can get out from under Sonny's thumb. Then I guess we will start our new lives together."

"I am a bit jealous of the two of you. Nik, we have been talking about doing something like that, but then he will start to think about Lucky, and he will change his mind. I am going to start talking about going to Canada and seeing if you are right. Just remember I have your back and I know you have mine."

It is Christmas Eve day, and everyone is going crazy. Alan and Monica have spoken to their lawyer about Michael. The first of the year, they will have a court date. With the life that Carly leads, it will be a shoo-in for the Quartermaines to get full custody of Michael. Carly will be able to see him, but at the mansion. When he is older maybe some overnight dates.

Em and Liz went Christmas shopping. There were a few things that they wanted to pick up before the day got away from them. Jason had talked with his grandparents and Lila gave Jason the engagement ring she received from Edward. Lila thought that Elizabeth was Jason's soulmate. She was to Jason like Lila was to Edward. Elizabeth had been working on something that would show how much she loved the Quartermaine family. There were two paintings done. The first was Lila in her rose garden. It was breath taking. The second was a picture when Alan and Monica had just adopted Emily. Alan, Monica, AJ, Jason and Emily were standing by the Christmas tree. It was a perfect Christmas gift. She had it all wrapped and under the tree already.

Jason was going to propose to Elizabeth on Christmas morning. He could not wait to get on one knee and tell her how much he loved her. The snow was falling when the shopping was over. Emily thought that a sleigh ride was a perfect way to end a perfect day. The lights were on and there was a peace around the estate with the snow lightly falling.

Jason had asked if Francis and Johnny could spend the Christmas and Christmas eve at the mansion. Edward was not too happy, but Lila insisted they stay. The dinner was loud with lots of tall tales being said and alcohol being thrown around. AJ was there and he was able to stay away from it. Jason was very happy about how far his brother had come. It was getting close to midnight, so everyone got ready to go to midnight mass.

When they entered the church, there were two people already there that were shocked to see who just came in. Jason sat next to Elizabeth with Johnny and Francis on her other side. Emily sat in between her two brothers. Carly was going to go back to Jason and make sure that Elizabeth did not sit next to him. The only reason she could not was because she had Michael with her. He was sound asleep, but any fighting would wake him right up.

The mass was beautiful. It talked about how baby Jesus was born, and the church seemed to be the most peaceful place around. When everyone was leaving, Sonny tried to stop Jason. He had a couple of his guards around him, and he was going to take Jason by force if he needed too. The only thing that Sonny did not understand was most of the employees liked working for Jason, Johnny and Francis. The loyal guard would not allow Sonny to hurt Jason in any way. Jason had way too much respect for them, and they returned the respect back to him. Carly tried to get Jason to go see what Santa had brought for Michael. She did not want to be around Elizabeth, but she did want to spoil her holiday.

Lila looked at Sonny and Carly. "The two of you need to bring Michael home now. There will be another time for you to talk to Jason. Just remember in a few short days he will be gone. Jason and Elizabeth are going to check out all the great places in history. Elizabeth will paint her way across Europe and Jason will be making sure that no one gets near her. Johnny and Francis are going to be her guards too. You will have to take a step back then because everyone will want her paintings."

Jason could see how tired Elizabeth looked and his sister. He helped his grandmother get into the limo for the ride back to the mansion. Jason, Elizabeth, Emily, Johnny and Francis got in one behind the family. They were going home and to bed. In a few hours, Jason was going to have his whole life changed.

Em and Liz barely made it to Em's bedroom before they both fell sound asleep. It was Christmas morning and there were changes awaiting them. Jason checked on his present for Elizabeth. He made sure that he could find it easily on the tree to give to the woman who he would give up his life for. Then Jason headed to bed himself. Johnny and Francis went to their rooms and were happy for their best friend. They both knew that Elizabeth was the right one for Jason.

A few hours later, everyone started getting up. They all headed down to the family room with the Christmas tree and presents for everyone and then some. Cook had put on a great breakfast for everyone and then left to start on their Christmas dinner. Lila and Edward had so much fun watching everyone open their presents. Lila was not one for caring about what she got, but she loved giving gifts. It was something that she did freely all the time, not just for the holiday.

Elizabeth and Jason went to get the two paintings that Elizabeth had been working on for the past two months. Emily only knew about the one with Lila in her rose garden. She did not know about the family portrait that she had done too. Elizabeth went over to Lila and whispered that this was from her and Emily.

Lila opened the painting, and she was astounded. It was breath taking. Emily had found an old photograph of her grandmother in her rose garden. Lila remembered that Edward had taken the photo before he went to war. He carried it with him when he went overseas, and he told her that she kept him alive.

"I am not sure how you got this photo, but I remember when it was taken. Your grandfather was getting ready to go overseas and he took the photo. He took a few others, but this picture was what he took with him overseas. He said it protected him. I thought that the photo was beautiful even then in black and white, but this is beyond beautiful. I knew you had talent, but this is beyond that. Thank you both very much. Emily, I know that you found that photo somehow or somewhere. Elizabeth, you have taken something that means so much to Edward and me and turned it into something truly amazing."

Em looked at her best friend and knew that Liz was going to do great things in the art world. Then Jason brought the second painting to his parents. His parents opened it up and saw that their family portrait was another amazing painting that Elizabeth had done for the family. Alan and Monica were nearly in tears. Emily went to hug her best friend. "You certainly know how to take a photograph and turn it into a piece of history. They are both amazing."

It was now down to the last few presents. Jason got his present for Elizabeth off the tree. He went over to her and let her open it up. When she did and the tears started to flow, he knew that he needed to tell her exactly how he felt. "Elizabeth, I know that many people don't get a second chance at life, but I have. I have loved you for so long, but to most people, it would seem a minute. You have been everything that I have ever wanted or needed. I promise that I will always stay by your side and protect you. You have my heart and soul. Will you do the honor of marrying me?"

The tears started fall a little faster than. She got up and hugged him. "Yes, I will marry you. I love you too. You have made me feel safe and loved since the day you saved me at Jake's."

Everyone went to congratulate the young couple. There were a lot of people that did not get what either Jason or Elizabeth was talking about, but Lila did. She was happy that she could see her grandson finally do what needed to be done to make a good life for himself outside of Sonny.

The next couple of days were a blur. Jason and Elizabeth planned on getting married before they left Port Charles for New York City on New Year's Eve. The minister at the church came over to the Quartermaine mansion and talked to the young couple. The only ones that were going to be there for the wedding were already staying at the mansion. Elizabeth did not ask anyone on her side of the family even her grandmother.

She had her best friend stand up for her as her maid of honor. Jason asked Johnny to be his best man and Francis was going to walk Elizabeth down the stairs to her future husband.

They planned on getting married the thirtieth of December. There was going to be something in the paper but that was going to be after the couple were married and far away from Sonny and Carly.

Lila called up her favorite niece, Chloe and asked her to bring some of her bridal gowns and maid of honor gowns for the wedding. Chloe got on her plane with her crew, and they were in Port Charles two days before the wedding. The men all had their tuxes, so they were good to go. Chloe had plenty of gowns for everyone. Her assistants helped her show off her gowns and Lila were amazed. Then Chloe saw the painting of Lila and asked her who the artist was and if she had anything for sale.

"That my dear will be the bride. She did this for me for Christmas and the other family portrait was also done by Elizabeth." Chloe asked Elizabeth while she was trying on gowns if she ever thought about design like in clothing or maybe even interior design. Chloe saw Johnny and she was smitten with him.

The gowns had very few alterations, so most of Chloe's crew went back to London. She was going to stay for the festivities and had a few assistants there to help with the hair and make-up for the wedding.

It was late in the afternoon when the wedding started. Emily walked down the steps into the family room. Francis was with Elizabeth and gave his charge a hug and kiss on her cheek. He was always wanted a daughter and Elizabeth was a gracious stand in. She knew that Jason wanted Francis to be part of the wedding and so Elizabeth thought this was the perfect way for them to bond. She knew him already from Kelly's diner and for helping her with Jason. She knew he was a great guy, and he would put his life on the line for her if needed.

"Thank you, Francis, for walking me down the aisle. I could not ask my father, even if I knew where he was, and my brother is studying abroad to join our parents when he finishes. I just want you to know how much I appreciate this." Francis looked at her with tears starting to form in his eyes. She wiped them away and they proceeded down the stairs.

Elizabeth walked up to Jason. He looked so calm, compared to her. She was so excited that she felt that her heart was going to explode. The minister started talking about marriage and two becoming one. Then it was time for the vows. Jason spoke first. "I, Jason take you Elizabeth to be my wife. You have had me enchanted since the time I tried to save you from that caveman at Jakes. Then it was cemented when we went on our first bike ride. You and I fit so well together. I want you to know that I will always put you first. We are about to go on a journey of a lifetime and this time I will get it right. No more Carly or Sonny to make me choose who I love or who I want in our lives. Love is put above everything else. There is no one I would rather be on this journey with than with you."

Elizabeth looked into his eyes and she knew what he said was the truth. Most of the people besides Emily and Lila understood what they were talking about, and that was fine with them. "I, Elizabeth take you Jason as my wedded husband. I plan to make your life as full as possible. We will have many adventures ahead of us, but the best will be when we settle down and have a family. You will be the best dad and I can see that we will have great friends to take care of us. I want you to know that I will always put our love first and that we will have a great life together. I love you always." The two the exchanged rings and was finally able to kiss as husband and wife.

"For the first time as a married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Jason Morgan Quartermaine." Everyone was happy that Jason went back to his original name. Lila had tears in her eyes because she knew that her wish had been granted too. Then the fun began. There were lots of pictures being taken and then off to the ball room.

There were more people there that the family had invited. They even invited Sonny and Carly. They thought it was for a pre–New Year's Eve party. Audrey was there, Bobbie and Michael. There were other people from Kelly's and friends from the hospital. Everyone was having a great time. Then they announced the bride and groom. When Carly saw the gown that Elizabeth was wearing and the rings that were on her hand and Jason's hand, she lost it.

Carly started off by saying that it would be a cold day in hell that she would allow Elizabeth to be married to her boyfriend. She seemed to forget that she was living with Sonny and still legally married to his brother AJ. Sonny knew that it was going to get bad and tried to leave. Lila had already called Taggert to come up and arrest Carly. It was going to make it that much easier for Monica and Alan to get custody of Michael.

Carly went to grab Jason and pull him away. Jason did not move. Carly then started hitting and kicking Jason trying to get some reaction out of him.

Jason knew that this was going to be the last time he was going to see Carly. He needed to put her in her place so he could be happy with the woman who always held his heart. "I am going to say this once to you, Carly. I have never loved you. You were a mistake that I just cannot seem to get rid of and I know that is on me. You seem to have this future all picked out for us, but you seem to forget that I am a real person who is capable of knowing who I love, and it is not you. I let you interfere with my relationship with Robin and if it were stronger than you would not even be here right now. I should have left you out in the rain, so you would have to rely on yourself. I am not going to make those same mistakes again. You and Sonny are on your own."

Carly then took a swing and hit Elizabeth in the face. That was when Elizabeth decided to do the same but with left hand. She got Carly good, and she went down. Sonny was about to do something when the Port Charles Police Department showed up. Taggert took one look at the bride and Carly. He already knew who started it. He just needed to hear who threw the first punch.

Everyone who was there said it was Carly that first started hitting and kicking the groom. The groom did nothing but told her that he never loved her and that she would have to take care of her own messes and so did Sonny. Then Carly swung a punch at the bride. When Carly thought she was about to get her again, the bride swung at her with her ring hand and down Carly went. She was going to have a broken nose, and stitches from the ring.

Carly was taken to the hospital and after getting her nose taken care of, she was headed to jail. There were going to be no charges against the bride because she was defending herself. Sonny looked at Jason and knew that when everything was settled down that he was going to take care of his best friend and his new bride. He was not sure how, but he would get his revenge.

The rest of the evening was peaceful and soon everyone was leaving. Lila just smiled at the two newlyweds. She knew that things were going to be different now.

Jason was able to get out of mob along with Johnny and Francis. Elizabeth became one of the most sought-after artists in both the United States and Europe. Maximus Giambetti who released the three men under his protection took an interest in the young bride's talent. Max and Milo helped the young artist as her guards too. The Giambetti family adopted the young couple and two best friends. Elizabeth did interior design for the rich and famous in Italy. Jason, Johnny and Francis helped when it came to picking places to work. They created a security firm that put new security systems in the homes that Elizabeth decorated. Their favorite place was their villa that Lila had given them as a wedding present. There was plenty of room for the four of them. It had a small winery on the property and the previous caretaker still helped with the grapes and olives.

Lila got to see the young happy couple with their baby. Lila loved their son, Jacob Alan Quartermaine. Lila told them all the gossip that was going on in Port Charles. Emily and Nik were able to find Lucky before too much damage had been done to him. They found a deprogrammer that was able to free him from Helena's brainwashing.

Lucky was able to find love with Elizabeth's sister Sarah. Emily and Nik got married a couple years after finding Lucky. Emily goes to visit Elizabeth whenever she could because she hated being around Sarah. Nik found them a villa not far from Elizabeth and Jason. This way the two sisters-in-law could be close.

Carly and Sonny lost custody of Michael because of her not being able to hold her temper. She was able to visit once a week at the mansion, but she hardly ever went. Carly married Sonny when he told her that he was going to get Jason back. Sonny was never able to do that because Maximus had him too protected. They did try to get Elizabeth when she was doing a show in New York City.

The person who was shot instead of Elizabeth was her sister, Sarah. Sarah survived but found out that she was pregnant with twins. The twins did not make it. The families told Sonny that he needed to go to his island, or he would be taken care of and there were no second chances.

Sonny was executed because he did not go to the island. Carly was left broke because the families took Sonny's money and property and gave it to the church and to pay off debts, he owed to the people he hurt and tried to hurt.
