A/N: Hello, it's me (the one who made that Stolas X Reader Oneshot Pleasure that had to be rewritten for initially, and accidentally, wrote it as awful). I have been busy with online university and handling myself physically and mentally due to the crazy two-year pandemic. I'm in a new semester but I cannot help but want to write about C.H.E.R.U.B after Episode 4 of Helluva Boss. Out of the three, I am NOT a fan of Cletus and hopefully, I'm not the only one who ships Collin X Keenie. I would have little to no knowledge of how to write anything relating to religion, so please don't flame me and tell me in the reviews, if possible. And if anyone ask, my English sucks and I don't have Grammarly Premium.
Disclaimer: Everything related to Helluva Boss belongs to VivziePop while everything else is mine (unless ya'll can say some characters are inspired by different characters from different fandom).
"I'm afraid your actions resulted in the death of a human. I'm afraid you can't re-enter Heaven. Yeah, no... Anyway, sorry guys. But those are the rules, yeah. Bye!" No matter how long have they were trying to forget, for two months, Deerie's words continue to plague the C.H.E.R.U.B's minds ever since they were banished from Heaven for the accidental crime of killing a human, no thanks to the I.M.P's mistakes of interfering with their work.
The two months after their banishment, the C.H.E.R.U.B aimlessly traveled to different parts of the world trying to find a church they can temporarily stay for their plans of praying their wishes to return to Heaven and God. But even when they found a suitable church willing to give three angels sanctuary in America, none of those of Heaven or the afterlife heard the C.H.E.R.U.B's pleas they prayed every night which slowly brings Cletus, Keenie, and Collin to feel driven to despair especially by hearing the news of how much sin the humans have caused to themselves and others.
From what the cherubs learned by those who regularly visit the church to pray, and a little bit from Heaven before their eviction, that majority of the crimes and deaths onto themselves were caused by the humans who belonged and work in the black markets, but none as the dangerous as the Dark Hell Market. Fitting to the name, the Dark Hell Market is like Hell on Earth where the people commit atrocious sins around the world such as murder, illegal selling, drug trade, rape, and prostitution towards innocent humans involved in their wrath. Worse, the world has been trying to deal with these heathens for years.
But no matter what the humans have done, the Dark Hell Market successfully thwart their plans and shake the Earth with fear with public terrorism and hellish tortures, making themselves known as 'demons in human skin' by religious people.
Cletus, Keenie, and Collin cannot help but tear up their sorrow whenever they read and heard every single terrible news of the people scarred or killed by the Dark Hell Market, to the point they know that the humans' pain by these heathens saddens them more than their banishment from Heaven. They even tried to use whatever they can to stop the Dark Hell Market themselves as a way to save the mortal realm and return to Heaven, but the three found out that their actions that killed Lyle Lipton brought their powers to be limited to only fly, heal, invisibility at will, and immunity to death, leaving them slightly vulnerable to fight back without their weapons or summon a portal to Heaven.
But perhaps with the restrictions, as long as they have each other, the three will try everything they can with their limited power to stop the Dark Hell Market, save the Earth, and prove to God and the angels that they are capable to return to Heaven…until one day…
"Keenie! Keenie!" Collin gently shook Keenie's body on the bed the kind priests offered them at the top of the church's tower, as the pastors and priests' generous thoughts that their prayers can reach to the heavens, with the purple lamb cherub watch his partner tiredly grumble while rubbing her eyes with her hands to wake up before she noticed the worried expression on Collin's face to also express concern. Even before creating C.H.E.R.U.B with Cletus, Collin and Keenie have always been together and their relationship has and will never break after Heaven's rejection to take the three back, even if Collin was occasionally used as a meat shield. "Collin? What's wrong?"
"I…I-I searched t-t-t-the entire church…a-a-and…I c-c-can't find Cletus everywhere! He's gone!" Collin stuttered in worry while knowing that Keenie is patient with his occasional speech impediment whenever he is worried, angered, or scared until the mention of Cletus's disappearance alerted Keenie to flinch in panic and flew out of the bed, quickly grabbed her scared partner by the collar, and proceed to speedily fly around their quarters before the church for their friend.
No matter how many times Keenie and Collin called out Cletus's name while hiding their presences from the priests, pastors, and people visiting the church for today's morning mass, the third cherub is nowhere in sight which increasingly worries the two with Keenie taking note of Collin starting to cry tears for the worried cherub to hastily wrap her arms around him and stroke the back of his wooled hair with one hand.
"Get a hold of yourself, Collin! Everything's going to be okay! Maybe he went off to look and save someone! He would never leave us like this!" Keenie assured with a hesitant smile although she cannot help but shed tears for fearing the worst happened to Cletus that could affect the three of them re-entering back to Heaven. Even if they are flawed by their clashing personalities and actions, C.H.E.R.U.B will return to Heaven either all three of them together or none at all.
"T-T-Then, w-we'll look for him outside!" Collin suggested and grasps Keenie's hand with the other responding to the offer by nodding with the sad smile before the two lamb cherubs flew out of the church while holding their hands together and fly around America on the air, calling out Cletus's name as loud as they can and swiftly hide their presences from the humans mindlessly performing their daily lives below them.
Hopefully, Collin and Keenie will find and save Cletus before they can proceed with their plans of redeeming souls…while trying to stop any demon or I.M.P to interfere with them again.
"Alright, students. I know that all of you are excited that this is your final year of high school. But you must remember that you need to do well for the final exams if you wish to get out of school with flying colors! If not, then you have to repeat the grade until you pass!" Mrs. Mirabelle announced after writing down the homework questions on the whiteboard although she can tell by looking at most of the students not paying attention to her with the expressions of boredom and displeasure and loud conversations and gossips that cannot help but release a sigh of defeat from the Math teacher of the Redwood Academy, knowing that these students do not want to do their next work.
A famous elite school for educating the students promising enough to become future leaders and influencers like famous politicians, celebrities, and even presidents for years. But, out of the classes of the entire school, the one that is the worst class to both the other students and teachers would be Class E. Known to have rough and arrogant students looking down on those they believed normal as 'losers', although some of them are well-behaved and intelligent, the school is aware that most of the students of Class E causes trouble to the other students, teachers, and even themselves just for the hell of it, often bragging about their parents' successful affiliations to show superiority.
As for the patient students of Class E, the entire school feel both relieved that they were nothing like the others… but also worried about what will happen to them physically and mentally if they were to associate with their shenanigans.
It also feels as if Class E is trying to be like the Dark Hell Market.
"Well, not surprised that all of you don't care about passing or failing the finals. I know that the important thing that's on your minds…is the Twilight Cotillion Dance." Mrs. Mirabelle sighed with her hand softly rubbing her short, brown hair, and her eyes closed through her glasses as she does not see her students perking up in interest for the school's annual dance considered as a graduation party before almost all of the boys swiftly turn their heads and face one of the girls sitting close to the wall and window with crude grins and whistles while the girls stare at them with anger and jealously directed at the target, almost all purposely ignore their teacher angrily shouting at the boys. "Boys, can all of you stop making poor Puteri uncomfortable!?"
The girl the boys are staring flirtatiously and initially looking at the open window beside her left after finishing her Math questions before turning around to see everyone staring at her with lust, anger, and jealously is young but oddly beautiful with her natural pale blue hair flowing down her back with little waves and draping down to her shoulders in a high ponytail, beautiful brown eyes that tends to glow whenever the light hit her, fair skin, and presentably clean which fits both her name and the nickname all the boys call her as 'The Water Princess'.
Puteri Kemp is Class E's well-mannered female student that neither bullies nor looks down on everyone, but politely treated everyone equally to help as well as dutiful with her studies, showing herself as calm as undisturbed water which is another reason for her nickname. Also, unlike the other students' parents who have normal but successful careers, everyone knew of Puteri's parents' accomplishments by stories and rumors proven to be true which further impressed everyone for the boys to start hounding to be her boyfriend against her wishes while the girls tend to get jealous with Puteri's rare beauty and popularity….except for one…
"Knock it off, losers! Puteri wants no one but ME, her best friend!" The girl seated behind Puteri stood off her chair and commanded the boys while waving her wand up and down in anger to back them off yet her words further enrages the others while Puteri glares at the student with a blank expression that glued her face. The girl who calls herself Puteri's best friend is as beautiful as any other girls with her chest-length black hair and silver eyes, but her appearance is easily overlooked by her temperamental personality and rude behavior to everyone but openly reveals her obsession with Puteri without care, making others see her treating the other as a trophy partner. Her name is Beverly Nicks, and she is Class E's difficult female student.
"Who are you to call yourself Puteri's best friend and push us aside, just because you always have her to yourself!? She doesn't even look like she agrees with you!" One student barked at Beverly in anger with the others shouting their agreement while Puteri and Mrs. Mirabelle watch the interrogation in alarm flashing on the latter's face for seeing another verbal argument between the students of Class E, just because of wanting to have one of them for themselves.
Beverly snorted her disgust for the complaints and proudly hit her chest with a hand before declaring towards the class with an authoritative smirk. "All of you are just jealous that Puteri and I've been together as long as we can remember! That's proof how she needs no one but me as much as I want her!"
'We've known each other since primary school…' Puteri reminded with sadness in her inside voice for wanting to correct Beverly as she faced the nearly forgotten teacher when she harshly slams her long ruler on the table beside the two large boxes stacked on top and perhaps heavy or fragile by the size, agitated of being ignored by the mad class. "Class, stop it! If you want to pass your school and go for the Twilight Cotillion Dance, then you need to behave, pay attention and focus on your studies! Now, can I have a volunteer carry these boxes to the teachers' room?"
To Puteri's grief, she sees the students are still glaring dangerous daggers at Beverly silently return to her seat with a proud smile hiding her fanatical love directed to her while she is feeling at fault for causing it, while no one bothered to raise their hands to help their teacher to carry the boxes, including the boys despite Puteri remembering them boasting to her that they are stronger than they look just to impress her, to no avail.
'Perhaps I can forget what happened by helping out…' Puteri decided before slowly raise her right hand and call her teacher who immediately calm down with a sigh of relief when seeing Puteri's hand raised. "Mrs. Mirabelle…"
"I'll help, Teach." The class nearly shuddered in surprise of a boy's voice calmly speaking for Puteri to glance at the owner alongside the others who react in dismay while Beverly snapped in anger at seeing one of the boys sitting at the back of the class and raising his hand like Puteri, who stares at the boy with a faint but visible expression of surprise even when he also looks at her with an astonished frown. The boy classmate is handsome like some of the boys with a tall and lanky built, neck-length spiky-like golden blonde hair, blue eyes, and wearing a green rubber bracelet around his right wrist.
From what Puteri know of this classmate, only by rumors as Puteri was unable to know anything of the other schoolmates by both Beverly rudely push others away from her and the boys trying to get closer to her…this boy is Terren Morgan, rumored to be a delinquent by his appearance and behavior, and he is the only boy who never flirted let alone had a conversation with her….
…but Puteri noticed something unusual about Terren other than his appearance and personality, that she cannot help but stare at him also staring her back until both turn their attention at the teacher, who commented on her happiness of seeing two of the patient students of Class E offering their assistance. Now it's her turn to ignore the flabbergasted students staring at them especially the boys' jealously towards Terren. "Oh thank god! I'm not surprised that Puteri is willing to help, but Terren too? I'm so happy, I want to reward you two by letting you have break time earlier and longer than the others!"
"What!? No Fair! Give us an early break too!" The other students gasped in shock and anger to demand Mrs. Mirabelle for the reward only to fall on blocked ears by Mrs. Mirabelle playfully plug her ears with her fingers while Terren and Puteri stood off their seats and walk towards the teacher's desk when Beverly stood with her hands slammed on her desk, complaining her fury of seeing someone else accompanying her best friend instead of her. "Why does that punk have to go with Puteri, instead of me!?"
"How about you calm down and don't sprout shit that makes everyone vomiting of your obsession, yandere chick?! If you raised your hand earlier and finished Teach's homework, you would have your chance to help out and have more time." Terren calmly taunted with a sneer for being called punk and Beverly's annoying demands, although he and everyone notices Puteri gently hold the base of the bottom box before lifting both boxes off the desk, surprising the class to scream of seeing an expressionless girl easily hold two heavy boxes until Terren hastily grab the top box off the bottom box.
Everyone watch the Water Princess and the delinquent walking out of the class with a box in hand, listening to both the teacher happily spoke the two out and the class groaning their irritation. "Thanks again, you two! Tell the teachers that you both have longer breaks today!"
"Geez. I don't know if you either don't mind everyone annoying you for attention, or you're just hiding your irritation." Terren groaned his distaste for dealing with his classmates being jerks to each other and trying to force Puteri to be their girlfriend but Beverly is still the bothersome classmate, once the two slowly walk through the empty hallway towards the Teachers Office with each box in their hands.
Knowing that this is the first conversation the two are having while proceeding around the school, Puteri quietly gasps her surprise as she faintly glances at the other while being careful of not hitting herself at any wall or the lockers, taking note of seeing her reaching Terren's shoulders and his face is not as scary as she presumed, unless if he is angry or annoyed like earlier, before Puteri sadly look away and respond for earlier. "…I'm sorry."
"Why are you apologizing? You didn't do anything wrong…" Terren exclaimed with bewilderment of hearing Puteri's apology, knowing that this is the first time he is speaking to the popular girl of the school, although he notices how sad she is even before offering himself to help Mrs. Mirabelle…no every day. Terren realized that he always sees Puteri looking so unresponsive whenever they come to school, even when she was dragged by her best friend and the boys harassing her.
Pondering of the other with his pity striking his heart, Terren added with a small smile once they slowly walk up the stairs to the Teachers' Floor. "…Well, maybe I can accept it for trying to carry two heavy boxes without my help. If you need anything, Puteri, don't hesitate to tell me."
"O…Okay." Puteri quietly answered with surprise as she carefully walks up the steps and looked at the boy she is helping with. Puteri was surprised that Terren acts nothing like she was told and heard from the others; they believed that he started gang fights that knock other delinquents severely injured, and his angry eyes would send others frozen with fear. Yet not even baseless rumors would stop Puteri from wanting to have a true friend even if they are as awful as they think, but the obstacle would be an obsessed girl who would harm others just to drive them away from her.
Once they have reached the Teachers' Floor, the two entered the office for two of the teachers remaining there to gently grab the boxes off their hands with their thanks, with both students returning the thanks before walking back to the stairs.
"Alright! Now that we have longer lunchtime, how about we get something to eat and drink?" Terren offered with an energetic smile and stretching his arms up as Puteri glance at their feet with an uncertain scowl for what to do next. Normally, Puteri would think of staying at the cafeteria or read in the library at lunchtime and recess. But since today is just going to be with Terren, Puteri is curious about where would he have his lunch since Puteri never seen him eat lunch at the cafeteria which brings her to ask. "S-Sure…Terren, where do you normally have lunch?"
"I always have lunch at the school rooftop. Why don't you join me? It'll be nice to have some company for once, even by the Water Princess. Plus, you could take a break from the yandere chick and the others." Terren offered with a kind grin and wave his arm over his shoulder, startling the 'Water Princess' who blinked her brown eyes at the surprising but reassuring proposition to have lunch with someone else than Beverly.
Without thinking, Puteri wordlessly nodded and follow Terren down the stairs heading to the cafeteria with the girl noticing a calm smile on his face before looking down to his hand and see what she saw earlier AND every day whenever she often catch glimpses of the delinquent, as well as knowing that others cannot…
A long and glowing red string wrapping around the fingers of both Terren's left hand and her right hand, extending whenever the two are away from each other but shrinks when they are closer like right now, and never breaks even if the strings tangles…
"Cletus! Cletus! Where are you?!" Keenie and Collin continue to call out for their missing friend and hiding around America only to stop by the rooftop of a large elite school, expressing nothing but anxiety and grief that no matter where they go and how many times they call his name, the two lamb cherubs can tell that his presence is nowhere in sight and sense for the two to cry their sadness of Cletus's disappearance.
'Oh, where could Cletus be?! It's not like him to go away from us and disappear like that…could he?' Keenie frantically wondered in sadness of the possibilities as she felt Collin's hand patting on her back to see her partner staring at her with tears and lips quivering to show how he also thinks of Cletus's disappearance before raising his arms for a hug, bringing Keenie to start pouting and quickly return the embrace to loudly cry for their friend.
Even in Heaven, Keenie and Collin have each other to comfort whenever something terrible happened to their fellow angels and souls, especially those who died from the Dark Hell Market or I.M.P.
As they continue to cry on each other's shoulders, they did not hear the door of the rooftop's small building underneath them opening until the two stopped by the sounds of a boy speaking. "Trust me, Puteri. You'll be safe from those guys if you come here…"
"Hide!" Collin whispered and hastily grab Keenie's hand for both cherubs to fly at the back of the small building just in time to hide from two high school students in uniform climbing up on the ladder and sat at the higher part of the rooftop, showing their backs to the cherubs spying on them as although they have never been spotted by humans whenever they make themselves invisible, the cherubs know that they are a certain number of people that can see the supernatural with the power of clairvoyance.
From their hiding spot, Keenie and Collin see a boy with blonde hair and wears a white, short-sleeved buttoned shirt with black linings, a green rubber bracelet around his right wrist, dark green pants, and white sneakers while the girl has pale blue hair and her uniform is also a white short-sleeved shirt underneath a dark grey pinafore and a pair of white sneaker shoes with a stocking on both legs.
"I didn't know you can stay here for lunchtime. It's so…peaceful and quiet." The girl softly remarked with surprise after sipping her bottle of orange juice and cross her legs to sit beside the boy leisurely lying his back on the floor with his arms under his head after he responds to his friend with a calm smile. "Yup. Again, if you need quiet when you eat or study, just come here even without me if I'm not in school."
Keenie and Collin continue to hide behind the students despite seeing that they are nice together as the former noticed something when looking down the moment the girl wondered aloud with faint sadness in her voice. "…Oh. But I think it's nice if I could come here with you. You seemed nicer than everyone here, despite the rumors I keep hearing about you. Even Beverly always says that you're nothing but trouble, whenever I wanted to talk with you before today."
'Aww. I wish we can do something to help them while we'll look for Cletus.' Collin thought with sadness as he caught the soft frown on the boy's face from the girl's words, but Keenie's hand quickly tapped her hand on his back with gentle pats to see her pointing her other hand at something regarding the two students, confused about seeing her so happy since their time as C.H.E.R.U.B at Heaven for Collin to slowly glance back at the students and see what Keenie spotted…
Now Collin also reacts with surprise that instantly shifted in happiness and feels his heart slowly reduce the despair of not returning to Heaven and filled it with hope when seeing the glowing red string tangling around some of the fingers of both the boy's left hand and the girl's right hand.
"Ah! A Red Thread of Fate!" Keenie quietly cheered and hugging Collin back while keeping their brief celebration quiet from the two students. Everything relating to love is Collin and Keenie's favorite thing and nothing excites them more about love is seeing a couple destined to be together with the magical Red Thread of Fate. Even those living in Heaven and Hell have one since Collin and Keenie still have their Red Thread of Fate while they remember the imp couple of I.M.P also have theirs when they fought each other before Lyle Lipton's death.
It was when the four heard the school's bell ringing in the air to attract them as the boy sigh his relief or amusement with the girl slowly turn her head and face him with a blank frown and lifeless-like brown eyes that slightly glow from the sunlight. "At least we have an extra hour of lunchtime, thanks for being good students and help the Teach. Oh wait, we're the only good students of Class E. You can't help but smile to yourself when you get good rewards for helping out."
"That's so true." Keenie and Collin nodded in agreement with a smile although the former look at the girl and softly frown her confusion and sympathy of seeing her not showing anything but melancholy even before coming to the rooftop, slowly look at the bottom of the school from their position and softly place her orange juice bottle on the ground. "…I never thought about smiling in school, due to feeling like a burden whenever the boys and Beverly try to get me for their benefits. I would smile whenever I'm with my parents…but I always wondered if I could smile by having real friends without getting everyone wanting me like a prize at school."
"Then, why don't I be your first friend? I always see you trying to ignore the boys and the chick being jerks for your affection, even for the Twilight Cotillion Ball, and you are kind to the others even those others see them as poor and worthless. Just think of me as someone who you can trust…or like your dad." The boy raised himself to sit and proposed with a friendly grin as Keenie, Collin, and the girl stares at him with surprise yet the former two quickly express the happiness of seeing a boy helping a girl warm up to him, with the blue-haired girl first blink her blank brown eyes for the thought until her lips softly curl into a tiny smile. "T-Thank you, Terren. I hope that I'll be a good friend to you."
"Oooh! I can't take it anymore!" Keenie squealed and swiftly fly out of their hiding spot towards them, surprising Collin in worry for seeing his spouse flying to the students and hastily fly to her side with her visible body showing.
"That's the spirit, you two! Making friends will make everything better!" Puteri and Terren flinched in surprise of witnessing a sudden appearance of a small and glowing anthropomorphic female sheep with yellow fur, along with a yellow halo and wings, purple eyes with red irises, and wears a yellow dress with a red bowtie hovering in front of them, surprising Terren while Puteri softly gasps her amazement when another but male anthropomorphic sheep with a white halo over his head and wings on his back but has periwinkle eyes and body, and wears a white bow tie around his neck nearly bumped into the first deity and reminding her in worry or fear. "Keenie! Be careful! I don't want to lose you too if you show yourself!"
"What the hell!? What are these things, I mean people?! No wait, they're sheep! What's with the sheep people!?" Terren gasped in shock of seeing a pair of floating sheep appearing before them, about to hide Puteri behind him if he believes these angelic-looking sheep are trying to harm her, although the other does not genuinely look terrified when they stare at the female sheep the male one called her Keenie introducing herself and her partner with a kind smile…even though Puteri can sense sadness in both the female sheep's heart and voice. "I am Keenie and this is Collin, and we are Cherubs."
"Cherubs… the beings of Heaven that serves under God?" Puteri pondered with Terren reacting with disbelief of seeing the revealed pair of Cherubs before them even when the one called Collin nod his response with a nervous smile when he spoke although he suddenly frowns in sorrow with Keenie also express sadness to rest a hand on his shoulder, confusing the two students who immediately felt sympathy for seeing a sad Cherub. "Y-yes, that's right! We and our other friend Cletus are also part of C.H.E.R.U.B, that protects and blesses the humans on behalf of the souls residing in Heaven.… B-but the three of us were banished because we accidentally killed our last human Lyle Lipton, f-f-from the demon imps of Hell trying to kill him and interfere with our work of blessing him not to die."
"Oh, yeah. It was in the newspaper; famous inventor Lyle Lipton who turned old from his last invention died alongside countless others in an opera theatre two months ago, with the old man died from a piano dropped on him." Terren recalled what he remembered from reading a newspaper about Lyle Lipton's death, first looking at Puteri to see her express a faint reaction of sadness before Terren turns his attention to Keenie and Collin in puzzlement. "So all of that was because you were trying to stop demons from killing him? And yet, you two and your friend got banished? That sounds wrong."
"We've been trying to pray to God and everyone at Heaven to take us back, but they never answered our prayers. Now we know that we're no different than those imps, as monsters, and Cletus disappeared from us. We're so worried about what happened to him, and what will happen to us! We're not going back to Heaven without him!" Keenie revealed on the brink of crying even when Puteri raised her arms for a hug which she accepted while Collin flew towards Terren and sat on his cross-legged lap, allowing the boy to stroke his wooled-like hair.
Seeing two sheep cherubs crying for what happened to them and their friend's disappearance, Puteri and Terren cannot help but feel sorry for them when they looked at each other for the former to ask the other with a small scowl. "I wish there's a way we can do to help them, Terren…"
Terren looked away from Puteri and wonder of Keenie and Collin's situations and being the only people who knew of it, trying so hard not to imagine if any one of the school will catch on of what happened, even Beverly…Suddenly, he has a plan.
"I got it." Puteri, Keenie, and Collin stared at Terren with surprise and curiosity at the calm and confident smile on his face when he thought of what he planned in his head. "How about if we can help you two find your friend, and get you back to Heaven? If Puteri and I can keep your secret, maybe if you guys have some power to hide yourselves, and do some good deeds while we search for this Cletus, that will get God's attention to see what you both have been doing! Perhaps that will get Heaven to take you three back!"
"Oh! That's an amazing idea! We've been staying at a church ever since our banishment, we almost forgot that it's the angels and cherubs' jobs to redeem souls! But maybe Terren's plan could help us get back and lift our spirits to continue working!" Keenie happily flew off Puteri's embrace with acceptance of the plan, also captured Collin's happiness to fly and join Keenie's side for Terren and Puteri to watch the two cherubs cheering for the plan while the latter glance at her new friend with a curious scowl of surprise.
"Will that work?" Puteri asked.
"I don't know. But it won't hurt to try, just like it won't hurt to try and make friends. Plus, it's good that it's the two of us helping Keenie and Collin, since we lived next door to each other. We can walk to and go back from school and visit each other regularly, using the time to plan on helping the cherubs find their friend and get them back to Heaven. I hope our…families don't mind us seeing each other." Terren explained the plan with a few nods and his face is as serious as earlier with his smile as Puteri softly feel her heart growing lighter after looking down at their hands to see the glowing red thread she always sees on one of their hands is authentically connected.
Keenie and Collin flew down to hover in front of the two with the former smiling happily and point at the thread, with Puteri seeing Terren staring at their hands in confusion as she knows he cannot see the red thread. "I'm so happy! Not only do we get to meet two young students destined to be with each other, but also kind enough to help us get back home!"
"Wait, what? Destined?" Terren dumbfoundedly raised his left hand while Puteri calmly lifts her right hand, seeing nothing that prompt Keenie to point something at them with happiness while Collin flew closer to them and explained with a nervous smile. "Y-Yes, destined by the Red Thread of Fate. No matter what happens, whenever two lovers connected by the string are away and out of reach, the string will never break, and those who can see it knows that they're destined to be together for eternity."
"I knew it." Puteri exclaimed as she points her right hand at Terren to see him staring back with his mouth gawking in surprise at her understanding response before she points the same finger at his left hand. "…I have a secret ability to see something out of the ordinary like spirits, the supernatural, and even the Red Thread of Fate that's been on our hands since the first time we met on the first year of high school. I also see my parents' Red Thread and despite their claims, all the boys and Beverly do not have my Red Thread of Fate but you have."
First glaring at Keenie and Collin to see them nodding to him with happiness at Puteri's explanation, proving that she is telling the truth, Terren quietly holds his head with his hand connected by the Red Thread and took a few minutes to rest his mind and think with Puteri and the cherubs staring at him with mixed confusion for his response before Terren asks the question he had in mind to Puteri, not with anger and doubt but curious and a little bit of relief.
"Wait, wait, wait. You mean to tell me…that the Water Princess of Redwood Academy not only has extremely famous parents, being a sane student of a mad class and have every boy and a crazy-obsessed chick wanting your love…but she can see supernatural shit and a magical, destiny proofing string to show the person who shall be with her forever?"
"Y-Yes? At least it's you and not anyone from the school and Beverly. This shows that they're speaking nothing but false promises and lies…and you're more handsome and kinder than them." Puteri agreed with a chuckle from her smile at Terren's flabbergasted reaction to his assumptions, with the boy glancing at the two nearly forgotten cherubs raising their hands and gives him a thumbs up with a giddy smile, before Terren stared back at Puteri to respond with a confident grin and chortle his happiness for the confession, giving a short and dramatic bow with his left hand raised for her right hand. "What a way to get confessed by the school's popular girl! Alright, I promise, not only to help the cherubs get back to Heaven but also be a good friend…and boyfriend, milady."
Puteri again giggled her gladness and took Terren's hand to see the Red Thread is shrinking again to their wrists when she did.
"Yay!" Collin and Keenie cheered in unison just as the four heard the school bell ringing again, signaling the end of the lunch hour for everyone to go back to class, with Terren and Puteri removing their hands off each other and the former turn their attention to the cherubs with a faint smile. "Okay, we have three more classes before school ends. We can drop by either my house or Puteri's and then we'll discuss what we'll do. You both can make yourselves invisible right?"
"Of course, Terren. We can do that, but we would like the two of you to be the only ones to see us." Collin answered as he and Keenie flew down to the entrance with Terren climbing down the ladder before Puteri before the four walks and flew back in the school for the students' next class.
During the flight, Keenie and Collin would look at the two students willing to help them search for Cletus and get back to Heaven walking closer and immediately fill their hearts with joy and hope for their kindness, reminding them that not only humans are evil like the Dark Hell Market but humans are kind like Terren and Puteri.
Now knowing that help can exist by the same people they sought to protect, that is more than enough for two of the C.H.E.R.U.B to press their hands together and pray to hopefully God and Heaven.
'Dear, Father. With your eternal love, please watch over and accept Terren and Puteri's help of redeeming us and return home with Cletus. Please allow this as proof that we are sorry for what the three of us have done, and that we will do anything in our power to fix our mistakes. Amen.'
A/N: Please tell me if this is either good or bad like the other one I did.
