Hiruzen Sarutobi looked at the crying child resting upon the sealing altar before him. Beside the aforementioned altar was two fresh dead bodies.
The bodies were the parents of the one Naruto Uzumaki, the child whose crying replaced the sickening roars of the demon that had just attacked the village a few minutes prior.
The demon that was known as the nine tailed fox. A demon who now was sealed away.
Deep within Naruto Uzumaki's body.
Two Years later
Hiruzen Sarutobi gazed upon the dozing child amongst the other children at the orphanage. The dozing form of young Naruto looked so peaceful. So pure. So ignorant of his fate.
Hiruzen could feel his heart in pain at the thought of the life this child was going to live. A life he himself was going to condemn this child to.
The life of a jinchuriki was always going be a hard, sad and onerous. No matter how much he prepared himself to make this decision, his heart still hurt at the thought of it.
Jinchuriki, much like Naruto, were created when a tailed beast, a demon with unimaginable sovereignty and power was sealed within a person, typically those of young age.
This was done for a few reasons; 2 reasons.
The common reason was to protect humanity from the ravaging beasts. Years and years had the tailed beasts have ravaged the elemental nations, killing many in their wake. Their existence came with destruction. When humanity created the sacred art of fuinjutsu (the sealing arts) and developed it to a required level, they were able to stop the beasts and lock them away.
Unfortunately, with sealing away the demons, it lead to a certain discovery that shook the shinobi world. This discovery was the second, and arguably main reason why jinchuriki were created.
The creation of weapons of mass destruction.
Humans and the lust of power go hand in hand.
The thought of humans weilding the powers of the tailed demons and effortlessly preform terrifying feats that cleanly struck fear into the hearts of their enemies was too good of an opportunity to pass up.
One Jinchuriki could easily sweep the tide of battle at a moments notice. Destroy an army on their lonesome; army killers. Such reasons is why they were clear assets to their shinobi villages.
They were the treasure to a ninja village. A very valuable treasure.
Once again, to think that the serenely snoozing Naruto Uzumaki without any care in the world was going to live such a life, truly pained the aged veteran's heart. It was sad to think about, it truly was. But Hiruzen knew in his aged heart that this was a must.
That it was a necessary evil.
His mind had won the battle over his heart.
Naruto had lost his free will to live a normal life when he had become a Jinchuriki. Hiruzen was fully prepared to make sure that Naruto fulfilled his role and duty to the village, no matter how much he was going to suffer.
Either that or the other ninja villages attacking his own village and mercilessly killing his people; His extended family.
He couldn't have that happening.
A cruel truth was that one life was not more important than the lives of many. He was the leader of his village, he was the Third Hokage. Difficult decisions came with the job. He had to do what was best for his home.
Danzo will come over and adopt Naruto by the day's end and train/raise and mold Naruto into being an effective Jinchuriki and Shinobi.
Minato Namikaze, The Fourth Hokage and the father of young Naruto whom he had died during the fox attack and sealed away the demon into Naruto, wanted Naruto to be raised as a hero and protector of The Leaf.
Hiruzen could only shake his head at this sentiment. Even as a Hokage, Minato quite never got it, did he?
After all, Shinobi aren't heroes. They never were. They were tools. Similarly as Jinchuriki were weapons.
With Minato's actions, Naruto was The Hidden Leaf's weapon and for the sake of the village, he was going to serve as such.
''Forgive me Naruto.''
The end.
A/N: Yeah, I'm capable of writing more than just crack. Lol.
