"You can't be a hero."

"You won't be a hero"

"Never happening kid."

"How about some other career choice?"

"Simply put, you're never getting to that place. I just don't see it."

"No! You're never going to be there!"

"I'm so sorry…"

Quirk… what a beautiful, but destructive power. What a useful and harmful ability. What a load of crap, but a fact of life.

I learned at an early age, that men are not created equal.

They use to, but that was before Quirks came in. That was before heroines were the life of everybody in the world.

Did you think you heard me wrong? No, I said it. Heroine.

Heroine, not hero.

Not even close… no matter how much I or others wish it were.

Even if it did happen, they'll… they'll be eaten alive or put aside for simply being different. For being a male, for being themselves.

Here are some facts.

Number one, there are only heroines.

Number two, they're hypocrites.

Number three, only eighty percent of the female population have quirks, and even then, the twenty percent that don't are still treated better than men, by a long shot.

Why did it become like this? Why did it have to be only girls? Why didn't we get a chance…?

Why…

WHY….

WHY!?...

WhY?!

I don't have an answer, a reason, nor a fact. Not even science itself has an answer. No one does.

It's just how it is.

And I hated it.

Yes, key word, hated. As in, past-tense.

Why, you may ask? Because I don't need a quirk, I don't need saving, and I don't need to be pushed down by others for not having something in the first place. I don't need to be reminded of my gender, my physiology, my entire existence! NO! If anything, it'll only make me push myself, only motivate me to go past my limits! It will make me go further beyond!

My name is Izuku Midoriya! I am fifteen years old and I am a male! I am going to be the one that will destroy the treatment and idea that men can't do anything!

I WILL RISE UP FOR THOSE THAT CAN'T STAND.

I WILL SHIELD THOSES THAT CANNOT DEFEND THEMSELVES.

I WILL GIVE IT MY ALL TO EVERYONES HOPE AND GRIT!

I!

WILL!

BE!

THE!

SYMBOL!

OF!

HOPE!

FOR!

MAN!

But I will need help.

And I will accept it. Without any hesitation.

Unfortunately, where there is hope, there is always hardships that come in every shape and size.

"State your name, age, gender, and Qui—sorry. Your abilities, please." Asked the interrogator, sitting in front of me.

This is merely a small step, but a giant leap. A leap that will cause a chain reaction, without a doubt.

"…My name is Izuku Midoriya, I am fifteen years old and a male. Obviously, I don't have a Quirk, but what I can do is summon my life force—energy if you prefer, and do things that seem impossible." I said in a monotone voice.

I had my hands closed, laying on the table in front of me and looked straight at the female interrogator that was writing down my information.

"Do you understand that the use of qui—sorry, the extent of…um…you cannot…oh dear."

She didn't know what to do. After all, I am a male.

And males don't have quirks. So, my abilities and control over my energy is completely out of the law's hands.

"Um… um would you mind if I talk to my Sergeant really quick?"

Because males were not considered for the laws of quirk usage beyond heroism. They never were.

"I would like my guardian and brother, please." She stiffened from my response and quickly gathered her things before leaving the room.

Simply put, no male around the world has a quirk, therefore, they're not considered for the laws, and therefore I would be free to go.

But not in this case.

No. I had to come to terms with what I've done and why I still have a hard time accepting.

With a click of the closed door, I unclasped my hands and started to meditate.

'Remember to concentrate on the flame. Imagine the flame as big then small.'

'Control its size.'

'Control it.'

'Control it…!'

'…good. Now imagine it moving around yo—' the door opened again, this time, there was a presence I felt that was tough, yet warm to its aura it produced.

Opening my eyes, I saw the female interrogator with a concerned face and what I presumed to be the Sargent that was training her.

The female Sargent looked at me with a resting frown, then to her officer with a questioning look.

"Is this some sort of a prank Akemi? If you wanted me to laugh, then you should try something a little more clown like than some random boy who has a 'Quirk'." She said as she came in and sat down in front of me.

'Where are you going with this? You would've left if it wasn't worth your time, but now you're sitting here. What's your game?'

I could already feel her gaze on me as if she was trying to decipher me like a puzzle.

"It has come to my understanding that you're here for quote illegal quirk usage, unquote." She said as she leaned towards me with a smirk.

"…I would like my guardian and brother, please. I will not speak another word unless we are in the same room all together."

Her smirk faltered a bit. But quickly had it back on before getting up and walking away.

"I wonder if that other boy will say the same thing…"

It was my turn to smile. I didn't turn towards her, but I did feel her aura produce a small sense of guilt and frustration that clearly showed that she didn't want to do what she needed to do.

'She seems like a good person, and so does the other officer. If anything, its pretty much a guarantee that one of bad ones will come. Let's hope Orb can stall them until he comes here with everything.'

Hope, is only everlasting, if you have faith.

My faith is as stubborn as a mule.

(Interrogation Room # 5)

The room had dark paint all over its walls, with the exception of a one-way mirror being in front of a teenage boy, who was currently bored. The room only had a modified table with a hook on the boy's side, and a hanging light bulb that would flicker every once in a while.

The boy in question was pacing back and forth, out of boredom with his arms behind his head.

He wore a black, long-sleeve shirt with dirty yellow shorts that had stains of mud and water all over it. His shoes were filled with holes, some having his toes sticking out, but he wasn't concerned about that right now.

His hair was a spiked up with two bangs hanging off and one large piece of hair was hanging off on his right side. The hair itself, looked like it was defying gravity like nothing.

As he was pacing back and forth, he suddenly heard the door open where two officers, one male another female, came in with water bottles, juice and donuts?

"If you would please sit down over there." Said the officer carrying these items.

She was a tall red headed woman with beautiful curled hair that seemed almost flame like, but wasn't. Her standard police uniform was as clean and spotless as it was given to her on the first day. Her name tag on the badge she wore had the kanji written Sato, Anka.

The boy quickly sat down and crossed his hands as if he were in classroom.

"State your name, age, gender and all that stuff for me to write, and please say it slow. I already have enough on my plate." Officer Sato said as she placed the water bottles in front of boy.

'she seems tired…and really casual for someone in uniform?'

He looked over to his right to see a plain looking man holding a pencil and notepad with a resting face that screamed calm but alert. His badge's name tag stated, Kato, Reo.

"…Um…My name is Son Orb; I am fifteen years old and I am a male with a confession to make." Orb said as he looked at the two.

The two officers looked at him and to each other.

'That was quick.' They both thought as they prepare to write down their entries.

"…um, I would like my grandpa here… and brother back, please. Um… I will not talk unless they're here." Orb said as he looked away from them, out of both shame and guilt.

The officer's deadpan towards Orb and wrote down the info they would only receive as they both quickly formulated a back up plan.

'so much for that.' Officer Sato thought.

Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi was not having an easy day. Scratch that, she hasn't had a decent day since the incident regarding the attack on UA's training exercise. Not one person had seen or even heard, what happened during the attack. Not even the villainesses that were a part of the attack could even describe what had even happened. The only information she had, was that they were there to kill All Might and possibly the young heroines in training themselves. Their leader, Toma, as she called herself, said that they were there to end All Might, and to cause chaos for all to see.

The plan was simple yet, somehow, what they describe as a 'Nomu', was nowhere to be found and practically non-existent. Shota Aizawa described the monster like creature and almost fought it had its attention not be taken away by…something. That was noted heavily as Toma was fiercely angry that the Nomu was no longer obeying her and instead following some sort invisible being.

From the gathered testimonies and large amount of evidence they collected, the Nomu was transported by a teleport user—which she still can't find—and was somehow thrown in the air while following something and punched around for bit. Then, what sounded like a charging blast, to some, to others it sounded like two cannons going on forever, being blasted away in a brilliant blue light, and disappearing inside of it. It didn't help that the blue light that everyone saw also destroyed the ceiling of the USJ and caused major collateral damage to the surrounding areas. To the point where even the concrete floor has millions of cracks.

Even the testimonies from the class of 1A were eerily similar and could only describe the creature as disgusting, wrong looking, and terrifying. But the blue light and supposedly fast battle that took place in the middle was what forced them to shield their eyes and to only find nearly all the villainesses downed, traumatized, scared or wondering aimlessly. Something that made each capture and arrest more than easy.

Yet she and her many, many officers couldn't find a trace of said monster.

Too many cracks to tell what was the Nomu's and what was the apparent blue light's power.

"God, if your listening, please send me something to help my with this case!" she said out loud as she was trying to organize the papers of the witness testimonies. "I'll take anything! A hair, a print! Hell, I'll even take a small splatter of spit, just help me please."

This was one of her ways that helped her cope with the fact that this was mostly a cold case of—her door opened and in came in a random officer.

"Detective! I believe you may want to come and see this!"

(000000000000)

"Are you sure this is right?" Naomasa asked as she was handed papers upon the three people in the room in front of her.

"The young boys are claiming it's true and it would seem that their guardian is…angry, but disappointed and…also happy? About what they're claiming they did." Officer Sato said as she handed Naomasa more papers and a couple of folders with big red stamps stating 'Police Confidential'.

"The elder gentleman with the beard and moustache also gave me this as for your eyes only and to contact anyone else you feel would be aware of this information." Sato said as she handed her a heavy blue paper file with a giant red stamp titled, TOP SECRET.

She immediately opened the files and began to skim through each one. Such as the life of a detective. Receive a file, skim through expertly and see if anything was worth noting. She did this so many times now, she could awaken from a drunken stupor and keep going like nothing.

The Blue heavy paper file was a new one for her however. She rarely was let on in some secrets beyond her line of duty. Only having a couple at best that would definitely cause some ruckus.

"What can you tell me so far about them?" she asked out loud to her fellow officers.

Officer Reo responded. "The one on the right is named Jackie Chun, he's a retired martial artist/homeschool teacher, that has two adoptive sons. They're currently right there with him. He's sixty-two and male with only a record of sexual misconduct twenty years ago. The charges were dropped however, and has since then been quiet."

The two female officers, Anka Sato and Akemi Yoshida, both frowned at the elder man, from behind the one-way mirror. Their thought was to be more on guard and to be aware of this new information.

"Jackie Chun, huh, originally born from an island on China sea territory." Naomasa noted as she continued looking at the file.

Akemi spoke, "The one in the middle is Izuku Midoriya, fifteen and both birth parents deceased. He's a bit of a quiet young man, but definitely has an attitude that he's trying to hide." This raised a question from Anka. "His parents died and he has an attitude? I don't blame him, if anything he seems to be still struggling from it and other things."

The others agreed.

It was not uncommon for males to be swayed into villainy, if anything, they had no one and no where to go and so their only chance of survival was to join the dark side of Japan. Many officers had seen too much of this and many could not save any at all, due to the female population being more upfront and dominating the standards. Not to mention, the treatment of males in general were too heavy on not recognizing it simply because men refuse to report the abuse and activity because of the fear, the outcry and backlash of just about everything.

Naomasa had seen it all. From stay at home fathers to struggling business men. They all eventually fall or succumb to their final chapter of their lives, because of the silence or the fear.

She shakes those dark days and continued reading the file on the possible one in a thousand men that would not fall.

"Says here his family was attacked by a villain in the prefecture area. He was in the foster care system for a month before being adopted by…Jackie Chun." That was a little weird for Naomasa to say the least, but she was thankful in a way.

"So then, that leaves the young man on the left to be, Son Orb. Age fifteen and no public-school record other than being home school by…Jackie Chun. I'm seeing a pattern here." She said as she closed the profiles and looked at the heavy blue folder.

'Who or what are you three exactly? You've all been off the grid according to our records and now you claim to be a part of the USJ incident, but only days after? What's your goal here.' She pondered the idea that maybe, they were unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time, but then again, how did they get there and why did they suddenly pop back up?

She opened the TOP SECRET file and began read the first page's content.

'…. wait…Are you? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!'

She turned the next page and continued reading it. Each sentence was making her eyes widen further and further, to the point where they were the size of dinner plates. Her fellow officers were starting to get nervous as they've never seen her act this way from a file of all things.

"Um, detective? Are you okay?" asked Sato. Before she could ask another question, she was suddenly spooked when the sound of the folder closed rather loudly. She yelped a bit and so did the others from the sound of their yelps.

"I need to contact some people. I need you four to not speak of this investigation to anyone. Not even to your superior officers. Do you understand me?"

They seemed a bit put off from the sudden demand, but regardless, they trusted her and believed her through and through again. They would never reveal anything unless said otherwise. They trusted her and she trusted them.

"You have our word." They all said, simultaneously.
