Detective Billy Echohawk jumped out of bed when his alarm went off and dropped to the floor and cranked out 1,000 pushups then he flipped to his back and cranked out a 1,000 sit-ups and crunches. Then he jumped to his feet and went to his weight bench and did 50 reps with three hundred fifty-pound weights and then he went and jumped in the shower. 15 minutes later he got out and padded to his bedroom and got dressed. He was a tall powerfully built man standing at 6'4.5" tall, and weighing 255#. He had skin the color of burnished copper, broad shoulders, and a narrow waist. He had long shoulder length raven black hair that he kept in a low ponytail and piercing dark brown. He wore dark blue Wrangler Cowboy Cut jeans, LAREDO KEY WEST PYTHON COWBOY BOOTS, a Rafter C Red Oxide long sleeve pearl snap shirt, a dark brown LIBERTY WEAR EAGLE BEAD FRINGED SUEDE LEATHER JACKET. He also had a silver Montana silversmith watch on his left wrist, a sterling silver Braided rope chain around his neck, a dark brown tooled leather scalloped Concho studded Tony Lama Cutting Champion belt, a decorative silver Montana Silversmith floral buckle. He had a 4" stainless Steel .357 Smith & Wesson 686 in a dark brown Galco Dual Position Phoenix Holster, Smith & Wesson Snubby .357 Revolver in a Galco Ankle Glove and a Benchmade SOCP Tactical Folder in his right hip pocket. He slipped his CPD badge over his head donned his mirrored RAY-BAN Aviator sunglasses and stepped outside and got into his blue 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS LS6 454 and drove to District 21.
He lit a Parodi Ammezzati Natural Cigarillo as he thought about the events of his life. He was born on 21 December, 1975 on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, He graduate from high school in 1992 and joined the Marine Corps and was assigned the 1st Recon BTN, then in 1993 he joined Force Recon and was assigned to 2nd Force Reconnaissance Company and served as a Recon Sniper. He retired in 2006 and joined CPD. He was a patrolman until 2007 at which time he was transferred to Vice. Then in 2014 he was transferred to the Gang Unit until yesterday he was chosen for Intelligence. He pulled up in front of District 21 and walked inside.
When he walked in the first people, he saw were Detectives Jay Halstead and his partner Hailey Upton. He and Jay warmly embraced as Jay asked, "What're you doing here bro?"
Billy replied, "I was transferred to Intelligence; heard y'all were down a man."
Hailey introduced herself and said, "Welcome aboard."
Jay asked as they all walked upstairs, "Do you know Voight?"
Billy chuckled as he said, "Yea."
When they got upstairs as soon as Billy spotted SGT. Hank Vioght he said, "Hey Uncle Hank."
Voight grinned broadly; for he was overjoyed to see his pseudo nephew. Billy's mother Gina Baxter had been best friends with his late wife Camille since they were in kindergarten. He remembered vividly when a just returned from Vietnam Jake Echohawk met Gina. It was a whirlwind courtship and 6 months later they were married at the courthouse with Hank and Camille as witnesses, then 9 months later Billy was born. They had ended up having six kids in all. Theresa; who's a doctor at Chicago Med, Matt; who's a fireman with CFD and triplets. Mary Ann; who's an ASA, Chelsea; who's a paramedic with CFD and Loren; who's a Patrolman with CPD. He asked, "How's your dad like Chicago?"
Billy chuckled as he said, "He don't but like momma likes to point out she stayed in Oglala Lakota County, South Dakota for the last 50 years while he was a Sherrif Deputy, then Sherriff. As she puts it he owes her so now they live in Chicago."
Voight chuckled as Detectives Adam Ruzek, Kim Burgess and Kevin Attwater joined them. He turned to Attwater and said, "Kev meet your new partner Detective Billy Echohawk."
The two men shook hands as Voight pocketed his phone and said, "We got a double homicide and a rape on Wabash. Kev; you and Billy go over there I'll bring Kim and Ruzek to assist; Jay you and Hailey go to Chicago Med and go question the rape victim.
When they got to the scene Officer Loren Silver Hawk walked up and said, "Male and Female black were severely beaten and tortured. The female was brutally raped."
Billy thanked her then pulled her in for a hug as he said, "Hey little sister."
She hugged him back as she said, "I'm so happy you were transferred to Intelligence."
He thanked as Burgess, Ruzek and Voight arrived. Loren went to hug Voight as Billy and Atwater entered the house. Billy asked as he pulled on a pair of black latex gloves, "Did anybody say anything bout a little kid here?"
Atwater replied, "No; why you ask dawg?"
Billy replied as he picked a sippy cup half full of juice, "Cuz this belong to no adult."
Atwater handed him a picture of the victims and a two year old little girl. Billy took the famed photograph and showed it to recently arrived Voight. Voight pulled out his phone and called in an Amber alert on a black female tender age child. When he was done he said, "I want you two to go to Med and fill in Jay and Hailey."
Both Billy and Atwater nodded as they left."
When they got to Med they were met by Billy's younger sister Theresa Echohawk ; she gave Billy a hug as she said, "That poor girl."
She glanced at Atwater as she asked, "New partner?"
Billy said, "Yep; Kevin Atwater meet my lil sister Theresa Echohawk."
They both shook hands and then headed for the elevator.
