Notes: I am finally starting the sequel for Justice or Injustice which many of you requested. But truth be told I am able to write this story, after taking inspiration from the writing of LotsLover and also how she encouraged me to write the sequel at the end of the prequel.

Anyway I am really glad and I think that other BMWW lovers would also agree with me that you are there Lotslover to provide us with more BMWW stories in the future.

Thanks for your content again.

PROLOGUE

Superman looked around him, as he unsteadily got on his feet. The city was burning, people were screaming. He could hear them clearly, more so than the others because of his abilities. But what his powers are for when he cannot save the people whom he loves most, people around the world, his friends, his mother and Lois. He was helpless against the evil power that was wreaking havoc around the whole world.

His friends stood by his side, strongly, providing him support, giving him strength and belief that they could fight and defeat this evil power. Unity is strength, he believed that. But even their combined powers are not enough this time.

They have only a few hours before the Earth is destroyed. And….

"You know, it is the only way that we may stand a chance." Batman said, stepping beside him.

"No. As long as I can draw breath, I won't give up. You know that, Bruce." Superman argued back.

"This is not about giving up." Batman hissed in anger and frustration. "Why don't you understand? This will give us enough time to save the Earth. This is our only chance, Clark." Batman said softly.

"But, Bruce you will die. I can't do that. None of us can." Superman didn't agree with Batman's plan.

"I agree with Superman on this, Batman. There is almost no chance that will survive, this…. Whatever you are trying to do." J'onn agreed with Superman.

"Diana." Superman said. "Make him understand."

She came to stand in front of them while limping. "He is right, Kal. It is the only chance we have."

"But…" Superman tried to say but Shayera stopped him.

"Batman, is right I must say. Even if this is the last thing we want to do, it is what we must do now." Shayera suggested.

"This is the only chance we have." John agreed with Shayera.

Flash came zipping towards them. "Wait! What are you guys trying to do?"

"He is going for it, Flash." Superman said.

"What! No… We still can… maybe… We will figure out something. We always do." Flash disagreed completely.

"We don't have the time, Wally. This is the only way." Batman said.

"But…"

"Bruce even if we agree, there is a high chance that your body may not be able to take it." Superman said.

"No, Kal." Diana interrupted. "I believe in him."

Several emotions ran through Batman's face as Diana's words. Nobody had ever trusted him so much except for Alfred. But Diana…. No he shook his head and put those thoughts away. What they had was something heavenly… and what he wouldn't give to have it back but he knew he didn't deserve a happy life or most importantly a woman like Diana in his life. She deserves much better. The fragile relationship of friendship and teammate they have now, is all he could offer, it's all the Batman could offer. She has moved on and she was right to do so, and he wanted her to do it even if it tore his heart apart. He wanted to say so many things to her, instead he just nodded at her.

"Do it." Batman said, looking at them, pulling out a red crystal from his utility belt.

Hesitantly, the five of them approached the glowing red crystal and placed their hands on it. The effect was immediate. They felt their strength fading away. Within a minute the five of them fell down on the ground panting. They felt as if someone squashed the air out of their lungs. Their eyes fell on Batman, who was holding the red crystal in his hand, which was now glowing brighter than ever. Batman took out a lasso out from his utility belt and it wasn't just any lasso… it was the lasso of truth. Diana's lasso. He held one end of the lasso in his left hand, and bound the glowing red crystal with it. As all of them watched the crystal they saw, the glow of the crystal faded away eventually.

"Did it work?" Superman asked.

"Maybe…" Batman couldn't finish his sentence as his eyes widened including others. The crystal's surface was cracking and bright red lights were streaking out from it.

"Bruce!" Diana screamed in fear.

But that was all she could say, because at that moment the crystal exploded with a loud boom as red light from the crystal blinded them. They had to cover their eyes from getting blinded. As the light slowly faded away, there was only a crater and the shards of the red crystal scattered everywhere, where Batman was standing a moment ago.

"No…." Diana whispered as her eyes began to fill with tears.

Superman couldn't say anything. He just fell down on his knees with his head bowed in grief for the loss of his best friend. Others couldn't say anything either. Even Shayera had hints of tears in her eyes. Flash's eyes were wide as saucers in disbelief. J'onn and John just stood there with their head bowed down also, like Superman.

But the heroes had no time to grief as something landed in front of them with a massive thud, cracking the ground in the process.

An eight foot tall massive figure stood in front of them, with large glowing red eyes.

"Darkseid." Superman gritted his teeth in anger. But he had no strength left to fight. None of his friends do now, he knows that. All of their strengths were sucked out from their bodies by that damn crystal.

"The Justice League is defeated. This world is mine now." Darkseid said and his eyes glowed. "Give up now, then I will have mercy and grant you all quick deaths."

"Not until we can breath." Superman said. The other nodded.

Darkseid smiled cruelly. His eyes begin to glow brighter.

At that moment the ground shook again. The crystal shards begin to move on their own and join together one by one, while emitting a bright red light.

"What is this?" Darkseid asked.

Within a moment the shards joined together and the red crystal was back as it was before. A red beam of light came out of it and it begin to take the shape of a human body.

Everyone's eyes widened as they recognized the figure. Batman fell down on the ground panting heavily.

"Batman?" Superman said in disbelief.

"Oh. It's you. It's good that you are here now. I could kill all of you now, together granting you all a quick death." Darkseid said.

Batman slowly got on his feet and faced Darkseid, not backing down. "I will stop you, Darkseid."

"A mere human challenging me?" Darkseid laughed.

"Not anymore…." Batman said slowly.

Darkseid's eyes widened when Batman started to flow up in the air, standing in head level with him now.

"No trickery, can save you human." Darkseid said.

He threw a powerful punch at Batman's face. Normally it would have killed Batman instantly but Darkseid couldn't even touch him as his hand went right through Batman's body.

"What is this?" Darkseid yelled in anger.

Batman's lips twitched. Without giving Darkseid any chance he countered with a punch of his own. Batman's hands should have broken when he punched Darkseid so hard, but instead Darkseid flew away and crashed into a building twenty feet away, completely devastating it.

Batman lifted Shayera's mace with his right hand from the ground. Then without saying anything he stretched his left hand towards John. John let out a yelp of surprise as his power ring flew out from his finger and attached itself on Batman's finger. Then he pulled out Diana's lasso from his utility belt.

Batman looked directly into Darkseid's red eyes.

"It's between you and me, Darkseid." He said calmly, in a deadly tone. The lenses of his mask glowed red.
