Fool's union
The day had finally come. Almost a year after Luan served as best woman for Luna and Sam's wedding, here she was, in a wedding dress of her own, about to say similar vows to her other half, Benny. There had been significant changes in the Loud family since that day. Lincoln and Ronnie Anne moved into their own place, Lucy had packed up for writer's school, Lisa became a tenured physics professor at a prestigious university, but most notable of all, the Louds welcomed a new addition to the family. Lori and Bobby Santiago were proud parents of their firstborn son, Arthur, named after Bobby and Ronnie Anne's father, Arturo. Currently, he was in the care of equally proud grandmother Maria Santiago, while Lori and Bobby attended this wedding.
Speaking of children, Leni had not too long ago announced she was three months gone with a little one on the way. She had only just found out, only showing symptoms of pregnancy recently, but did not say anything because she didn't want to eclipse Luan and Benny's big day. However, Lori, having had experience in the matter, could guess why Leni was making frequent and abrupt trips to the bathroom. The news eventually got out, due to Leni still not being able to keep secrets. Still, she was insistent that the others not make a big deal out of it. In Luan's dressing room, she and her maid of honour, Luna, were getting her ready to walk down the aisle.
"Four down, seven to go. I wonder how long it will take for Lincoln to ask Ronnie Anne to marry her," Luna pondered.
"Since I saw Lincoln browsing rings at a jewelry store a few weeks ago, I guess it won't be long until we hear an engagement announcement," Luan answered. Luna chuckled at the thought.
"Did you see the corny way Francisco proposed to Lynn? It was one of those 'jumbotron-type things at a basketball game. You'd think she'd see that coming, what with her being a sports nut and all," Luna recalled. Luan started laughing slightly.
"And her face as she saw her and Francisco on the giant screen as he was asking her. Priceless," Luan added.
"Still, I'm glad she found someone to settle down with. I was worried she would never find anyone for a while," Luna responded.
"I don't think Lynn is the type to hang up her Olympic gold medals on the wall as souvenirs for her kids. I'd give it a few more years before she gets a family of her own," Luan guessed.
"Agreed, but that's our LJ, wouldn't have her any other way," Luna resolved. Just then, Rita came into the dressing room.
"The guests are all assembled. We have half an hour until we start. You girls ready?" Rita inquired.
"Just about. How's Dad coming along with the reception dinner?" Luan probed.
"The finishing touches are being added as we speak. I'm still not sure why your father insisted on making it himself. Benny's parents were more than willing to pay for caterers," Rita updated.
"You know Dad, you can take the chef out of the restaurant, but you can't take the restaurant out of the chef. Nothing but the best for his daughter's special day," Luna reasoned.
"Plus, he's done this three times already. If anything, I'd say he's used to it," Luan added.
"Maybe, but I don't want him exhausting himself," Rita said cautiously. Bobby then entered the room.
"Has anyone seen Lori? Last I checked she was pacing up and down staring at her phone. She seemed to be in a panic about something," Bobby asked.
"She was in the courtyard, last time I saw her. Why, is something wrong?" Rita replied.
"She seemed frantic. I got a call from my Mum telling me Lori's been calling her almost non-stop," Bobby clarified. Rita had an inkling about why Lori was acting this way.
"I think I know what's wrong. Leave it with me and go get the guests ready. I'll speak to Lori," Rita assured. She then left to go find Lori, wading through crowds of guests as she did so. Luna also left to see to the guests, leaving Luan alone to contemplate what she will say to Benny when the two are at the altar. Rita eventually found Lori out in the courtyard, and as she guessed, she was still pacing up and down. If she did that anymore, the marble floor would soon wear out and Rita would rather not be sent a bill for damages. She moved towards Lori at a slow, calming pace, to put her at ease.
"What if he gets hurt, or sick? Does he have enough bottles? What if he has a nightmare during one of his naps?" Lori asked in a panicked tone to herself. Rita knew this state almost immediately. She called this 'New Mum Mode', and Lori was asking all the same questions Rita used to the first time she left one of the girls in someone else's care. Rita did not judge Lori too harshly for this. Far from it, she considered it natural for a first-time parent to be this worried about their child when they have to be apart like this. Still, she had to bring Lori out of this state somehow.
"Hey, Lori. Bobby told me you'd be out here," Rita stated.
"Mum. How long have you been watching me?" Lori inquired.
"Long enough to have a flashback to when I was in your position," Rita answered. She sat down on a nearby bench and gestured for Lori to join her. "The first time I left you with your grand-father, I was doing what you're doing now. You were only a couple of months old at the time, and I had my interview with the dental clinic. I couldn't focus on the questions they were asking me because I was too preoccupied with whether or not you were OK," Rita reminisced.
"Really? Then how did you get the job?" Lori wondered.
"I was still in the waiting room when Dad called to reassure me that you were fine. He told me that you were in the care of someone who had done the parenting gig before and knew what to do, and that calmed me down enough to get ready for the interview. It's only natural and even normal to worry about your child, but Arthur is in good hands. Maria has done this twice before. Plus, she's a nurse, so she is the best person to have around should he get sick or hurt. Trust me, your boy is going to be fine," Rita assured. This put Lori at ease.
"Thanks, Mum," Lori said gratefully. She then used her phone to look through photos of her holding Arthur for the first time after they left the hospital, Arthur in a hand-knitted sweater Leni made for him, as well as other baby photos Lori cherished. Arthur had the same blonde hair as his mother, but his skin tone resembled that of his father, and he had Bobby's eyes as well. Rita was admiring the photos with Lori.
"You two have done a tremendous job with him," Rita complimented. Lori then headed back inside to the main hall, where the other members of the Loud family were assembled. They were all catching up with each other and sharing stories about their lives. Lori joined her siblings and their significant others that they brought to this occasion.
"It really has been a while since we've all been together like this. It seems like we're literally always busy," Lori remarked.
"Need I remind you that we were together last year during Luna and Sam's nuptials? Plus, we get together every Christmas and Thanksgiving where possible, but yes, it has been a while," Lisa responded.
"Anyway, Leni, how is the baby's room coming along? Do you need help decorating?" Lori wondered.
"We still can't decide which colour to paint the room. Soothing lavender or drowsy beige. It doesn't help when you don't know if it'll be a boy or a girl," Leni answered.
"Whatever it'll be, we'll love it regardless. We have six more months until we have to nail this. That's plenty of time," Chaz chimed in, bringing Leni into a loving embrace while resting one of his hands on Leni's stomach as if to feel the baby's presence.
"My advice, enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts. Arthur's a bundle of joy, but he comes with many sleepless nights," Lori advised.
"Speaking of kids, Sam, what about you and Luna? Have you decided who's carrying first?" Leni probed.
"We haven't even found a suitable donor yet. We did interview one guy, but he crudely suggested he 'naturally inseminate' one of us and that the other could join in if they wanted. Luna and I punched him in the face and threw him out after that," Sam recalled.
"Some people just have no class," Lori remarked.
"If I ever see that Chandler guy again, he'll be sorry," Sam vowed.
"There is one guy I wanted to ask, our old bandmate, Sully, but I didn't want to make it uncomfortable for him. After all, he and his wife are trying for one of their own," Luna suggested.
"It's worth a shot. Certainly beats my suggestion, which was even weirder and not worth mentioning," Sam replied. Luna was curious as to who she meant.
"Come on, Sam, we're a team. Nothing you'd suggest would freak me out. Who were you thinking of asking?" Luna asked.
"Well, I was thinking of asking Lincoln and I could carry it," Sam shyly answered. Luna was taken aback by this. Lincoln would probably be up for helping his sister and her wife have a child, but how would you tell the little tyke that their uncle is also technically their father. Lincoln too, was a little shocked at this revelation. But that was nothing compared to Ronnie Anne's expression of sheer confusion.
"OK, yeah, that's a little weird, plus a little hard to explain once the kid is old enough. I have to be honest, I'm not entirely 100% behind that plan, but if you really want, we could try it," Luna conceded. After thinking about it, Lincoln came to a decision on the matter.
"I'm sorry, Sam, but the answer has to be no. I'm already dating one sister-in-law, getting another one pregnant, even without direct contact of any kind, is where I draw the line. I'm flattered that you would think of me, but I can't be your baby's biological father. Please understand," Lincoln resolved.
"Yeah, I get it, Lincoln. It would be weird for you to get your sister's wife pregnant. We'll see if Sully is willing to help us. Thank you for being direct and honest with us on this," Sam responded.
"Enough baby talk, how has work or school been for everybody? You still teaching at the university, Lisa?" Lincoln diverted the topic of conversation. In the many years that had passed, Lisa managed to graduate middle and high school at a record pace and, after finishing her studies in the career of physics at an equally fast pace, Lisa began teaching at the same school she was a student at while also going for a medical degree. After all, tuition was expensive. Lisa needed to pay those bills somehow. Her new boyfriend, David, also graduated middle and high school at the same pace as Lisa, although he chose to go into forensic science as his chosen field. In his spare time, he did enjoy the occasional cop show, and this brought on his interest in criminalistics. He was going for a doctorate in the subject with the hopes of heading up his own crime lab one day.
"I must admit, the process of teaching students older than myself was a bit jarring at first, but overall I find the path I have decided to walk on most calming," Lisa answered.
"It's too bad you're not teaching veterinary science. That's my end goal," Lana added. Lana's chosen career aspiration was to become a vet. While previously she wanted to become a female plumber, a nasty bout of stomach flu brought on by working on the Loud House pipework without rubber gloves had since changed her mind. Her second choice was to be a mechanic on a pit crew, but she could only do one, and she did like animals more than cars, albeit only slightly.
"Plus, I'm the main mechanic of this pairing. I mean, Lana helps with Vanzilla as well as my family's car, but I'm the one working in a garage and loving every minute of it," Skippy, Lana's boyfriend, interjected. Skippy had gotten a weekend job at his uncle's garage. At first, he was only learning how to work on cars, but he picked up the material so quickly, he was getting practical experience almost right out of the gate. He proved himself to be a real asset to the team, provided he kept up with his school work.
"Speaking of school, Lucy, how's that creative writing course you're on?" Leni wondered.
"It's been very helpful. I didn't know half the things I know now when I wrote my first book. Honestly, I have no idea how I got that published. What I'm learning in this college will certainly help me with the next installment," Lucy replied. Lucy decided half-way through middle school that she wanted to branch out more with her writing. True, poetry was how she started, but she wanted more, inspired by her mother's novel. She wrote the first installment in a book series about a family of witches who travel to other dimensions and do battle with mysterious evil-doers who threaten the balance of the multi-verse while learning more and more about their powers and how to use them responsibly. Once she got her first book published, it was an instant best-seller, and when a creative writing professor saw what Lucy wrote, she was instantly awarded a creative writing scholarship. Her boyfriend, Rocky Spokes, expressed an interest in one day turning the series into an animated show. He took an animation course at the same college Lucy went to, and they were both able to get a dorm room together on campus.
"The animation course is going great as well, though the group projects can sometimes turn into arguments over who booked the computer labs first," Rocky added. Leni then turned to Lola.
"Have you decided what you want to do when you leave high school, Lols?" Leni asked.
"I once thought pageanting was my life until I grew tired of the strict hair and make-up routines that came with it, not to mention the endless hours of practice. Lincoln was a good coach, but a good pageant queen should also know when her time in the spotlight is up. It was then that I thought I could use what I learned from my pageants to pursue a career in politics. Who knows, I might end up in the White House someday," Lola mused. Everyone paused to let the thought of President Lola Loud sink in. They were all thankful she grew out of her 'bossy' phase, or the idea of her being the most powerful woman in the world would give them nightmares. Winston, Lola's boyfriend, merely chuckled.
"I quite like the idea of being America's first First Lord. Maybe I'll end up in a record book," Winston joked.
"You two can run the country if you want. I'll stick with managing Reininger's," Leni chimed in. Leni stayed at the store she worked at after she left high school. While she did have her eyes on a fashion course, Leni decided against it at the last hurdle. She concluded that a sense of fashion was down to each person's individual tastes. Fashion could not be taught in a classroom, it had to be learned from experience, and Leni had that in droves. She applied that unique perspective to Reininger's, and business was flourishing more than it ever had. So much so that when Ms. Carmichael left to take up a management position elsewhere for more money, she left Leni in charge full-time. She gave the assistant manager job to her husband Chaz, who relished the role. While some may have called this favouritism, those that knew Leni and Chaz found it cute that they ran the store together. Also, with the baby on the way, Leni and Chaz would have to interview potential temporary manager candidates closer to Leni's due date.
"Why didn't you ever try college, Lincoln?" Lana inquired.
"I think enough of us are going away without our folks worrying about college funds. Not all of us can win scholarships. Besides, my commissions and the video game commentary channel I run with Clyde are more than enough income for me," Lincoln answered. Lincoln's passion for comics never went away, so he started drawing his own comic book storylines and publishing them online. People loved them so much they started paying him to draw stuff for them. That, combined with recording video game footage, editing it, and providing commentary with Clyde, and posting those videos online gave the channel, called 'Clincoln McCloud Commentaries' a massive following. The video-sharing platform they posted these on started offering them ad revenue, providing more income that the two shared evenly.
"Not to mention working at your dad's restaurant has been really fun. He makes a great mentor," Ronnie Anne said gratefully. Ronnie Anne got a job as a waitress at Lynn's Table. It was the first step on Lynn Sr.'s training program to become a full-time chef. One day a week, Ronnie Anne got to help out in the kitchen and she enjoyed it even more whenever she did.
"Do you ever miss the golf circuit, Lori?" Lynn inquired.
"A little, but I have bigger priorities right now. The golf tour was fun, but Arthur needs me more now," Lori answered. Since graduating from Fairway University at the top of her class, Lori had become a distinguished member of the PGA (Professional Golfer's Association) and has represented the country in the women's PGA cup tournament since its inception. She won many cash prizes during her time as a professional golfer, most of which helped pay for her and Bobby's wedding, but she announced that she would be stepping back from professional golf when she found out she was pregnant with Arthur.
"Still, it doesn't compare with your stellar win record, Lynn," Lola added.
"You know I don't keep score anymore. Not against family," Lynn reminded. True, Lynn had grown out of her overly competitive phase, but she still strived to be the best at what she did. When a sports coach saw what she could do in her high school days, he made it his mission to get Lynn into the next Olympic Games, and he was successful. Lynn represented the country in the 2024 Olympics in Paris and won several gold medals in events including, but not limited to, javelin, shot put, various sprinting lengths, weight lifting, and swim lanes. When she wasn't bringing honour to the US, she was a trainer at the Royal Woods Gym. Her fiancé Francisco coached Little League and brought the local team to nationals three years in a row.
"You guys are all so lucky. You know what you want to do with your lives or are getting on with your dreams. Me? I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up," Lily said with a little sadness.
"Don't be discouraged, Lils, you're still in middle school. You have loads of time before you choose your future. Enjoy it while you can," Leni encouraged.
"Plus, your grades are top-notch. Mrs. Johnson told me when I ran into her at the grocery store that you're the third-smartest kid she ever had, behind myself and Lisa," Lincoln added.
"Well, it certainly helps when your room-mate is a certified genius," Lily mused. Everyone laughed until Luna checked her watch.
"Five minutes to showtime, dudes. We'd better get in there," Luna pressed and everyone made their way to the aisle where the ceremony would take place.
Meanwhile, Benny was putting the final touches on his suit. His mother and father were there with him. It had been an eventful journey getting to this point. Luan and Benny spent a lot of time away from home, taking their comedy act to various theatres across the States. Benny didn't mind travelling with her. He even considered it fun, especially the nights they spent together at the various hotels. When Benny proposed to Luan on one of these trips, the two decided that they should settle down somewhere. Luan got a regular job hosting a weekly panel show where two teams would analyse the week's news stories and insert their own humour and jokes. Benny was her agent, but that was the day job he did to earn some income. He did still perform in local theatre whenever he could.
"I still remember the day you came home from that school play and told us you and Luan were an item," Mrs. Stein reminisced.
"If I remember right, you were re-arranging my whole wardrobe and replacing all my clothes with, what was the term you used, 'date-wear'?" Benny recalled.
"Someone had to get you ready for your first real relationship. It was a good thing I taught you how to bake, too, in case she had a sweet tooth," Mrs. Stein added.
"Yes, who could forget the first time Luan came over for dinner. I mean, Dad and Luan cracked jokes for hours. There was barely time to eat," Benny joked.
"It was at that point I knew you had chosen well, son, and here we are now. We're dead proud of you, boy. Get out there and make her yours," Mr. Stein pressed. Benny's suit had been finished when Bobby came in and told the three it was time to proceed.
Once everyone had been seated, Benny approached the altar. Once the officiator of the wedding took his spot, the familiar music played, and Lynn Sr. walked his daughter Luan down the aisle. Once they reached Benny, Lynn Sr. gave Benny Luan's hand, signifying that she had been given away. Once he took his seat, the ceremony began. The officiator didn't speak, however. Instead, he produced, from behind the lectern, two very familiar wooden playthings, Mr. Coconuts and Mrs. Appleblossom.
"Errrr….what's going on, dudes?" Luna inquired.
"Isn't it obvious? Mr. Coconuts and Mrs. Appleblossom are going to be conducting the ceremony," Luan explained.
"Then who's this guy?" Lori asked, gesturing towards the officiator.
"That is one Jack Durham, master ventriloquist, and puppeteer from my theatre group," Benny answered.
"Greetings, everybody, and thank you all for being here. Now, back to the show," Durham started the proceedings. He started with Mr. Coconuts.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to bear witness to the union of Luan Loud and Benjamin Stein in holy matrimony," Mr. Coconuts introduced.
"Oh yes, Mr. Coconuts, it is our greatest honour to see these two become one. Over the years, we've seen it all, the ups, the downs, everything in between," Mrs. Appleblossom added.
"We didn't see everything. Thankfully, we were spared the sight of their 'activities' whenever they got a room, although we could certainly hear what they were doing through the nightstand drawer," Mr. Coconuts joked, earning him a slap on the back of the head from Mrs. Appleblossom and causing Luan and Benny to blush red with embarrassment and the audience to laugh.
"Do you really think here and now is an appropriate time to bring that up?!" Mrs. Appleblossom scolded.
"Oh, come on, everyone was thinking it," Mr. Coconuts defended.
"You really are a hopeless cause," Mrs. Appleblossom rebutted.
"But I'm your hopeless cause," Mr. Coconuts charmed. Mrs. Appleblossom chuckled.
"Yes, that you are. Anyway, we must ask this because it's in the script. If there is anyone here who has a lawful reason why these two should not be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace," Mrs. Appleblossom recited.
"Go on, say something. Make my day," Mr. Coconuts playfully threatened while waving a fist in the air. Nobody spoke. "Yeah, that's what I thought," Mr. Coconuts said.
"Does the best man have the rings?" Mrs. Appleblossom asked.
"He sure does. Ladies first. Knock 'em dead, toots," Mr. Coconuts responded. Durham then made him hand a ring box to Luan, who opened it, took the ring out, and placed it on Benny's finger.
"Benjamin Stein. When I'm down, you bring me up. You accept me for who I am, pimples and all, and whenever I need you, you are always right there beside me. Romeo and Juliet may have a tragic ending, but to me, the end result of that play was the happiest moment of my life, save for this wedding and the day you asked me for my hand. With this ring, I vow to repay all that you have given me and more, as we embark on this next stage of our lives together," Luan vowed. It was Benny's turn. He too took a ring box from Mr. Coconuts, took the ring out, and placed it on Luan's finger.
"Luan Loud, ever since we met, you've always brought a smile to my face a warmth to my heart. You complete me in more ways than you know. You are the Juliet to my Romeo. Every day with you is a blessing and I eagerly look forward to spending the rest of my blessed days with you. With this ring, I promise to bring joy and love to this union," Benny promised.
"It's a good thing we don't have tear ducts or our varnish might just be ruined," Mrs. Appleblossom commented.
"Let's just get this over with before I lose it. Do you, Benny-boy, take this lovely gal to be your wife?" Mr. Coconuts asked.
"I do," Benny responded.
"Do you, Luan, take this hunk of meat to be your hubby?" Mr. Coconuts hurried along.
"I do," Luan replied.
"Goodie, then by the power vested in us by the State of Michigan, which for some reason allowed dummies to become ordained ministers, we now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now smooch," Mr. Coconuts concluded and Luan and Benny had their first kiss as a married couple while everyone gave them a round of applause.
"Everyone, give a hand to Jack Durham, our ventriloquism master and minister for today," Benny called on the crowd. They clapped and cheered for Jack, who took a bow and returned Mr. Coconuts and Mrs. Appleblossom to Luan and Benny respectively, and everyone left for the reception area.
When everyone arrived, they found the tables had already been set with starters for the reception dinner. The restauranteur in Lynn Sr. was on full display. The spread looked divine. Everyone was thankful that they hadn't eaten recently when they saw all this. Everyone took their places, and Lynn Sr. tapped his glass with a spoon to get everyone's attention.
"Well, here we are again, the fourth daughter married off. As a parent, it is painful to see your babies leave the nest, but every time I see the lives my son and daughters have made for themselves, I couldn't be more proud of them. It brings me great joy to see each and every one of my children embark on this new chapter of their lives with those they wish to spend it with. You chose well, Luanna-banana. May you bring as many laughs to your audience and the family you'll create as you did to this old man," Lynn Sr. gave his 'father of the bride' speech and sat down. Luna then got up to give her 'maid of honour' speech.
"To think, this time last year, Luan went all out to give me and Sam the wedding of our dreams, and now I get to do the same for her. It's nothing short of a privilege. I am thankful for all the laughs and fun times I have been able to share with Luan while we shared a room, for all the support she has shown me in the past, but most of all, I am thankful for Luan and Benny getting their own place, so I can go into my room and not see them, you know, in the bottom half of the bunk bed we share. And I thought Mr. Coconuts had heard it all. Anyway, Benny, if Luan makes jokes in her sleep, it's your problem now. Thanks for coming, everybody," Luna gave her speech and sat down. Benny, whose face was flush red, got up and gave his speech.
"First of all, I would like to say that the line about Mr. Coconuts and Mrs. Appleblossom hearing mine and Luan's bedroom activities was not in the script I sent Durham," Benny clarified.
"Hey, you told me I could improvise," Durham interjected.
"Second of all, I would just like to say how heartwarming it is to see all of you here. I realise that large crowds are par for the course with this family, but it really means a lot to me that all of you came to wish us a happy union. I couldn't ask to marry into a better family. But most of all, I would like to thank the maid of honour for not ratting us out to her dad when she caught us out that one day she just mentioned. Boy, was that awkward. You're all the best, and Luna, I happen to love Luan's sleep-joking. It's cute," Benny gave his speech and sat down. Finally, Luan got up to give her bridal speech.
"Thank you, dear sister, for making that rather embarrassing incident public domain. I'll be sure to get you back after we return from our honeymoon. It is my job as a comedienne to make people laugh and smile, even on the days where you don't feel like doing either. Lucky for me, I have an amazing family to bring back my smile whenever it gets lost, and now, I have my very own Prince, or should I say, King Charming, to keep the smile on my face for the rest of my days. Thank you all for keeping me true to myself. I love you all," Luan gave her speech and sat down. Once everyone had their reception dinner, it was time for the bride and groom to share their first dance as a married couple. Other couplings joined in on the fun as well. Luna and Sam were remembering their wedding fondly during this time.
"Do you think the reason you didn't rat out Luan was that she once caught us 'doing that' in the same room you caught her in?" Sam postulated.
"Oh, don't remind me. Those two incidents are why we made the rest of the fam sign a pact saying they would only have 'relations' at the other person's place," Luna recalled.
"The joke she told was even more awkward. How did it go?" Sam asked.
"Something along the lines of 'I hope the melons were as plump as the clams'," Luna reminisced with a hint of cringe.
"Well, were they?" Sam wondered.
"I'll give you a private review of the fruit quality later," Luna flirted and they kissed. Elsewhere, the newly married Luan and Benny were having their own dance, eyes fixed on each other, everyone else might as well have been an afterthought.
"So, Queen Charming, any ideas what you want to do when we get back to our castle?" Benny probed flirtatiously.
"Well, we could send all the stable boys home for the day, then we could…." Luan played along and whispered suggestions in Benny's ear, which made him grin with anticipation at the thought of what Luan had in mind. Benny mildly chuckled.
"Wow, good thing Luna can't walk in on that," Benny remarked.
"It'll be our exclusive show," Luan seduced and they kissed. Finally, Lincoln and Ronnie Anne were having their dance. Lincoln was looking all around, taking notes on what he wanted his wedding with Ronnie Anne to be like.
"Don't tell me you plan to propose, Lame-O," Ronnie Anne teased.
"Well, I am next on the list," Lincoln replied.
"Fine, but no public displays like with Francisco and Lynn. I don't need any of that," Ronnie Anne cautioned.
"Where would you rather me ask you then?" Lincoln inquired.
"I can't tell you that. It's your job to be creative and to ensure I don't see it coming," Ronnie Anne rebuffed.
"On that, you can count on," Lincoln replied and they kissed. The proceedings came to their inevitable conclusion and a limo was waiting to take Luan and Benny to the airport, to fly to their honeymoon destination. Everyone said their goodbyes and watched as the limo took Luan and Benny away, to the first step towards the rest of their lives.
Author's note: I had wanted to bring this out tomorrow, on April Fool's Day, but nearly being locked out of my own laptop changed my mind. I didn't want to lose this when it was so close to completion. Don't worry, The Second Cipher War is coming, I just wanted to do this first because I missed out on several April Fool's Day specials. Also because this is a thank-you present to Your Saving Grace is Here, both for taking part in my Age-Up Challenge last year and for giving me the idea of this fic when he reviewed my Pride Month submission last year. I hope you enjoy it. I also wanted to use this fic to touch upon what I think the Louds would choose as their careers in the future. Sorry if I focused too much on that. I felt it important to give each working Loud a description of what career I think suited them. Lastly, major life update. As of when I have written this, I have had my first Covid jab. Even though it makes you feel rough for the first 24 hours, I highly implore all of my readers to get theirs as soon as they are able. Your immune systems will thank you for it. The usual disclaimers, I own nothing, Nickelodeon owns The Loud House. Enjoy, and before anyone asks when they read about the bits with Chaz and Leni, I will give you my opinion on the recent episode detailing Leni's 'crush', that cowlick guy can kiss my…..*We apologise, but we have had to cut off Albertson at this point because he really didn't like how 'Undercover Mum' handled Leni and had some choice words to say about the matter. We hope this fic brings you joy and love.*
