I own nothing you may recognize.
Here begins the Harry Potter/ Dxd crossover part of the Wood Between Worlds Series. As is my norm, background is important to me so bear with me. Major changes to the King Arthur Story are present in this story, but why this has impact on the rest of the Dxd should be clear almost immediately, but if not, the next chapter will.
Wood-Between-Worlds
"What just happened? How did that pool throw me out? Maybe it is a special pond, maybe I need to find one that will allow me to go back, even though I really don't want to, but if I don't get back before dinner, Uncle Vernon will probably lock me in my cupboard for a week," Harry said once he stood up after being flung out of a pool, which stood by a tree with a tree with nine circles on it carved into it. Deciding he needed to find a way home Harry walked through the wood not noticing the tree which he had previously seen having a tree with nine circles carved into it, changing so the carving also had a vortex under the tree carving. After a few minutes of walking and not seeing anything out of the ordinary Harry saw a tree with a sword carved into it standing beside another pool of water. Finding himself thirsty, Harry knelt down beside the pool of water to get a drink before a breeze pushed him into the pool, causing him to vanish from the Wood.

"Arther what are you doing?" A tall thin old man with a long beard yelled as he walked into a forge where a younger man was working with an even younger man, who saw the old and tapped the elder on the shoulder causing him to pause.
"Oh, Merlin, I had not heard you come in, what can I do for you today," The older of the two men asked kindly.
"What are you doing here?" Merlin asked again.
"Is it not obvious, I am forging a sword, why?" Arther asked holding up what looked to be the start of an enormous sword.
"You are the King, you shouldn't be working in the forge, we have blacksmiths who can do that for you," Merlin said incredulously.
"Okay, your point?" Arther said flatly.
"You are the King!" Merlin exclaimed like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"I know, but what does that have to do with anything, I want a new sword," Arther said still confused by the older man's statements.
"My Lord, I think he doesn't understand why you would want a new sword, since you already have one," The younger man said softly.
"I can see that, Hadrianus, but my sword is like poor bronze, as you know," Arther said rolling his eyes.
"I know, my Lord, I have worked out many chips out of the sword," Hadrianus said with a sigh.
"And that is why I am using the steel from the spear of Lugh, swords of Taranis, and Camulos to make this sword, so it won't chip so often," Arther reminded him.
"Yes, and what a sword it will be, though absolutely huge," Hadrianus said with a smirk.
"Yes, but hopefully if we do it right it won't cost the lives of an entire battalion to kill a God, just one person yielding this sword," Arther said before Merlin coughed to remind the two he was still there.
"Yes, Merlin, did you still need something, I thought our Lord had already answered your question," Hadrianus said confused on why the old man was still there.
"He is the King and he is needed in the Castle to do his Kingly duties, not slaving away at this task, boy, you can work on this task, but stop distracting the King from his duties," Merlin said coldly.
"Merlin, I am grateful for your council, but this is my squire, and friend and you will give him respect. Besides I, as in me, myself, chose to come here and work on this blade, no one made me. I personally enjoy working the metal, it's calming," Arther said coldly glaring at the old man.
"But your duty is to the kingdom not to a forge, you are the King, people expect you to act as such," Merlin said chastising him.
"And any who wish to tell me what they think can, I think the people would rather have a king who is willing to work with his hands, than one who just sits on the throne and guts himself on the labors of his subjects. Why do you think I have the knights of the round table, when not working on quests, work the fields, and learn trades outside of battle? Its so the people know they are not just glutting themselves on their work. Now I have already heard the complaints and concerns of the people for the day, and so I am relaxing at this time. Now unless there is something pressing, I would ask that you leave, I shall return to the castle later, and be ready to hear the complaints and concerns of the people tomorrow," Arther said dismissing the old man, who seeing the dismissal left in a huff.

"Knights of the Round Table, word has arrived that the Men of Ireland with their Gods have decided that they are the rightful rulers of our lands, will we stand for this?" Arther asked once all of his knights were gathered.
"No!" A loud chorus cried out.
"Then will you march with me to the North to drive those barbarians out, and if needs be kill all who dare attack our great Kingdom?" Arther asked loudly.
"Yes!" The chorus cried out.
"Then we ride at dawn!" Arther said before dismissing the round table until only one knight remained.
"My Lord, at last you shall be able to see if Excalibur will be able to do as we hope it does, and is truly a God Slayer," The knight said with a grin.
"Indeed Hadrianus, and you shall be able to see if our alterations to Caliburn make it so it can kill Gods as well, we already know it can kill Dragons like Excalibur," Arther said with a grin.
"Indeed, though it was clear Merlin was not pleased when you gifted me Caliburn when you knighted me, Hadrianus the Emerald Dragon, two years ago, on my 18th birthday." Hadrianus said with a smirk.
"Is Merlin ever happy? Besides you deserved to be knighted after you had killed that dragon with Excalibur and had worked so hard with me to make the two swords with the metal from the Gods," Arther said with a smirk.
"True, but Merlin was still pissed," Hadrianus said with a smile.
"Well I don't really care, until I have a son, you are close enough to one for me to count as one, that is why I tied both swords to both of our soul lines," Arther said with knowing look.
"I know, and the fact the Queen was willing to tie her soul into it as well was more shocking," Hadrianus said simply.
"You know she loves you like a son as well," Arther said with a smile.
"I know, as does Lancelot and Gawain, I have been blessed with such great people being around me to help make me the way I am," Hadrianus said before with a bow leaving the throne room.

"Arther, Arther, SNAP OUT OF IT!" Hadrianus cried out as he dueled his mentor, who was clearly trying to kill him.
"Die, evil being, you and your friends betrayed me, kidnapped my wife and you and that scum Lancelot raped her, the witch," Arther said coldly.
"You are out of your mind, Arther, we would never do that!" Hadrianus called as he barely avoided a swipe by Arther.
"That is what Merlin said you would say, scum, you have been tricking me for decades, now die!" Arther screamed as he started attacking Hadrianus more viciously, causing Hadrianus to have to backpedal as he continued to try and stay alive.
"Please work," Hadrianus said quietly as he heard a horn blow from off in the distance a few minutes later, though the horn distracted Arther enough that he missed a parry from Hadrianus so he has cut deeply in the side.
"What? What happened, and why am I bleeding? Why are you standing over me with your sword coated in blood?" Arther asked falling to the ground, very confused.
"My King, do you remember what all has occurred in the past few months?" Hadrianus asked as he knelt down and tore off his cloak to start trying to stop the bleeding.
"Oh, no, no, no, please don't tell me that I actually did all I am remembering," Arther begged after falling silent for a few minutes.
"What all do you remember my king?" Hadrianus asked slowly.
"I recall believing that you, and my brother and best friend Lancelot had kidnapped my wife, once I had started to believe that Mordren was the son of Lancelot and not my own son. When I could not find any of you I went and killed my baby boy, and the love of my life" Arther said starting to weep.
"Aye, that did happen, but the reason we were gone was due to you sending us to the North based on a rumor that one of the Irish gods who had escaped our war had returned to our shores," Hadrianus said sadly.
"I remember that now, but then after killing my love and my child I went and roused the round table telling them how you and Lancelot had turned traitor, and the knights who refused to believe me I had put to the sword, and knights to ride out and kill their kin, destroying their lands," Arther said sorrowfully.
"I had heard rumors of that, but had not been sure, but then you met Lancelot, Gawain, Galahad, Percival, and myself as we rode up to Lancelot's castle, where you drove us away, but in the process Lancelot and Gawain were killed," Hadrianus said sadly.
"Yes, I killed my brothers, and then for revenge against Lancelot, for raping my love I raped his wife, my sister, Morgana," Arther said weeping openly.
"Arther, please tell me that is not true," Hadrianus said eyes wide.
"Yes, I did, though I now know that Lancelot and my queen had never betrayed me," Arther said sadly.
"Then in today's battle you have killed Galahad, and nearly killed me, the realm is broken my King," Hadrianus said sadly.
"But how did you break the spell that Merlin had me under, for only he could have done such to convince me that my closest friends had betrayed me," Arther asked confused.
"While in hiding, Percival, Galahad, and I realized you were not acting as yourself and so someone else must be behind things, and knowing how much Merlin hated Lancelot, Guinevere, and myself we figured it was him, so while Galahad and I came against you we sent Percival to Merlin's tower to kill him, and blow the white horn when the task was done," Hadrianus said sadly.
"So of the loyal knights of the Round table only two survive, how far our nation has fallen, and with no King it shall fall further still," Arther said sadly.
"You will live, my King, we are in my Land's and my wife who dwells within the lake is the greatest healer in the Land as you know," Hadrianus said kindly before an arrow pierced his side and a man came out from the wood.
"He shall die, as shall your entire Kingdom fall, for by my power as Lir, god of the Sea's water shall flee from you even as you breath," The man said with a grin.
"So the reports were true, the last god of Ireland did come into our lands, but you too shall fall filth," Hadrianus said coldly quickly moving over to the God, to the God's shock at his speed, and cutting him down.
"Well Hadrianus, it seems your quest is complete, but now we both need your wife," Arther said trying to joke.
"But the cursed poison holds, see even the blood flees from me, it will help you as it will keep it inside, but I shall not make it to see my dear wife," Hadrianus said pointing out how all things with water within were starting to veer away from him.
"Your wife is a wonderful being, surely she will be able to remove your curse," Arther said as Hadrianus helped him stand and start to move towards the lake.
"Perhaps my king, and I hope it shall be the case," Hadrianus said as they slowly made their way to the lake, at which shore the water moved away from Hadrianus, who looked at it sadly as he removed his ring and threw it into the pool.
"Beloved, oh, our King, you are bleeding out," A beautiful woman with teal green hair said as she came to the surface of the pool and saw Arther.
"Help your husband, he has been cursed, I can stay alive a bit longer," Arther said with a grunt of pain, as the sound of a horse came near.
"Hadrianus, Lady Nimue, my King, I came as fast as I could," The rider said as he got off his horse.
"Sir Percival, thank you for doing your part so well," Hadrianus said softly as he started feeling his blood fleeing his body.
"My king, I cannot approach my husband, his curse is so fresh it's power is beyond me, especially with it being from a ruler god, and as the last of his pantheon the power of all who died resided in him, so his curse was much stronger than normally would be," Nimue said bordering on tears as she tried to approach Hadrianus but found herself unable to get within 3 feet of him.
"My beloved, it's fine, help Arther, please," Hadrianus said himself struggling not to break down knowing he would likely never again touch his wife.
"What happened?" Percival asked confused as Nimue moved over to Arther.
"As you blew the horn, it distracted Arther and I so I accidently cut him in the side, and as we were about to begin to come her, the God Lir hit me with a cursed arrow, so water will flee from me," Hadrianus said sadly.
"Then let me treat the wound, I am not a water nymph like your wife surely I could," Percival offered.
"But the moisture leaves both through my blood, my eyes, and my breath, the curse will kill me that is for sure," Hadrianus said sadly as Nimue looked up from Arther's wound.
"You used Caliburn when you fought," Nimue said looking at Hadrianus.
"Indeed, it is the only sword which can match Excalibur in speed and strength except for Ascalon, which Sir George took when he went South," Hadrianus said knowing why she would ask.
"The wound requires healing I cannot deliver, because Caliburn is a God Slayer, and only Gods can heal those wounds," Nimue said before a boat appeared.
"Where did the boat come from?" Percival asked confused.
"It is a boat from the Lake to get to the island of the Gods, or that is what Nimue has told me," Hadrianus said looking longingly at the boat.
"Percival, I will need you to help me get Arther into the boat, and stay with him to apply pressure to his wound," Nimue said softly, nodding at Hadrianus' explanation.
"Why not have Hadrianus do so, so he can also get healing from the Island of the Gods," Percival asked confused.
"Water flees from me Percival, I could not touch the boat if I wanted to, please go, I need to do one last thing before I die," Hadrianus said his eyes begging.
"Very well, but what must you do, and where will I find you once I return?" Percival asked reluctantly.
"I go to Lancelot's home, for I wish to give Morgana my blade, the true King's blade, since being the last of the line of Pendragon she is now queen, though you will never return for once someone goes to Avalon they cannot return until the great horn is blown," Hadrianus said the last portion under his breath.
"Then I will see you there, take my horse for speed," Percival said as he carefully lifted Arther into the boat.
"Perhaps my friend, my King I bid you goodbye, my love until we meet again, don't have regrets," Hadrianus said as he carefully got on the horse as Nimue looked at him with tears in her eyes.
"Indeed, my love, I will wait for you," Nimue said before leading the boat away from shore and vanishing into the Fog that appeared suddenly.
Island of Avalon, Also known as Arther's Country.
"Welcome home, my son, you have completed your path," The Emperor-Beyond-The-Sea said once the boat arrived at the shore, Arther having left Excalibur with Nimue sometime before as the boat started to move on its own accord.
"Indeed," Arther said as The Emperor-Beyond-The-Sea helped him up.
"Wait, Uther Pendragon, I know you were dead, and you don't look anything like how Uther has been described," Percival said confused.
"Who called my name?" A man with short dark hair asked walking over.
"Wait, what is going on here?" Percival asked very confused as he noticed Lancelot, Gawain, and other knights he knew had died walking around as if never hurt.
"Welcome to Avalon, Percival, or as some may call it heaven, or as my brethren call it, Arther's Country, here all the good beings of all ages come and find rest and time passes differently here," Arther said kindly.
"What, we are dead now?" Percival said confused.
"Yes and no, if a time comes we can return to aide the forces of good against forces of evil, but that is only when all hope is lost," Arther said simply.
"Okay, so that also means Hadrianus will be coming here soon then?" Percival said slowly.
"No," Arther said flatly.
"But why not, he was a good man, why wouldn't he come here, or is it because of the curse that that Lir guy placed on him?" Percival asked confused.
"You mean me? Yeah my power does not affect Avalon, at all," Lir said simply.
"How is he here, or any of those Irish Gods, they are evil," Percival said angrily.
"No they're not, just had a different role than ours," Arther said simply.
"But then why won't Hadrianus come here, won't he die?" Percival asked still very confused.
"Hadrianus, or as his name actually is, Hadrian, is different than any of you, since he never techniquelly should have been in our world to begin with," Arther said simply.
"You mean us, and how was he not supposed to be in the world, clearly he was born in the world, your older sister's son," Percival said rolling his eyes at the clear mistake on Arther's part.
"No, I did not misspeak, Hadrian in truth is my brother, and not like any of you, but like myself, a master of the Deepest Magic and a keeper of the Truer Knowledge," Arther said simply.
"The what, and how is he your brother, Uther died like three months after you were born and your mother when you were born," Percival said still very lost.
"Okay to simplify things, the man who helped me up out of the Boat is the Emperor-Beyond-the Sea, and Hadrian and I are his sons. In turn both Hadrian and I are creators of our own parts of the World within the Sea-of-Time-Space-Matter-Knowledge-Magic-and-Life. However a war is looming that could destroy all within the Sea. For this reason myself and eight of my brethren are allowing Hadrian, our younger brother to enter our worlds and aide in them to help him gain allies for the war to come, since we will not force any of our creations to join us in battle," Arther said trying to keep things simple.
"I'm still so confused," Percival said simply.
"In short Hadrian is not as bound to the laws of life and death as others are, so he can gain allies throughout time, when he dies he will return to an area outside of worlds, called the Wood-Between-Worlds where he can enter other worlds, though he will eventually have to return to his own world to continue on his path," Lancelot said simply.
"Okay, but what path?" Percival asked a new question.
"Hadrian took the Heroes route to be a ruler of a world, like I did, my path was to cleanse Britannia of the Elder gods, and forge Excalibur for reasons that will come later in this world's story. Hadrian's is to kill an evil wizard from his world and gather the three artifacts the original ruler of his world had left in the world which would allow someone to force someone out of Merlin's or now Hadrian's Country without their will. Merlin happens to be the name of the the previous ruler who recently decided to just stop caring about his world and let it die, and that would have happened had Hadrian not stepped in," Arther said simply.
"Oh, so what happened to Hadrian once we left in the boat?" Percival asked causing all the others of the round table to come closer to hear.
"Well, as much as I am ashamed to admit, under our Merlin's spell I raped and impregnated Morgana La Fey, and she has since given birth to the true king, so Hadrian will give her Caliburn which my heirs will hold onto until the end of days, I think, I don't know for sure, depends on what impact Hadrian plays in the world later. Once he gives Morgana Caliburn he returns to the shore of the Lake and jumps at it in hopes to be able to enter the lake, and instead he vanished, I am assuming back to the Wood-Between-Worlds," Arther said simply.
"My King, if I may, what happened to my wife after, Hadrian left her?" Lancelot asked with concern in his voice.
"Well she will give birth to twin boys, due to my horrible act, the elder she names Lanther, after both you and myself. The younger she names Merlanus, after the Merlin of our youth who had been a great man and teacher for her in the ways of magic, and Hadrian. I can't see for sure how things go after that point however," Arther said with a shrug.
"Very well, as much as I am upset that Merlin caused your action, I am glad that she has children to keep her busy, though I do wonder why Merlin did change so drastically," Lancelot said curiously.
"I do not know, my friend, but we may someday know, or I hope at least that we do," Arther said sadly.
AN: The next chapter introduces the 3 major factions, this one just touched on the 4th faction the Hero Faction.
Forgive my naming of Characters, I am bad at names, sorry, kinda.
Mordren, Lanther, and Merlanus will make an appearance in passing in the sole Harry Potter part of this story, just fyi, these characters are not all just mentions for no reason beside making up names.
Reviews are amazing!
