Hey everyone, Wulf here! I am alive, and with a new story! No, I promise Inheritance is not abandoned or done. I actually am almost done with the next chapter, which should be the last chapter for this arc. Anyways, this story has been sitting in the drafts for some time now, and I finally got the motivation to kick this sucker into overdrive. School has kept me pretty busy, but things are slowly starting to wind back down once again, which is awesome. Anywyas, huge shoutout to the two people who have really helped me push this idea into an actual story (You know who you are, you amazing people!) Anyways, if you aren't apart of the discord server for the near community, I suggest joining it. I'm pretty active there so you might get to meet and talk to me!
Anyways, it's a new world! Welcome one, welcome all. Here we go again. Leave reviews!
Naruto, at the tender age of fourteen, never thought he would feel this betrayed in his whole life. Currently, he is sitting in the Hokage's tower in the dead of night, cleaning it as punishment for a harmless prank on the Hyuuga. I mean, come on. Itching powder in their laundry is a hilarious prank. But that's not important, what is important is the current folder he is holding.
In his hand, is a folder of his mother fucking parents and clan he belongs to!
Naruto starts to feel tears slowly trickle down his face, falling onto the open folder. At the top of the first page, is a picture of both of his parents, more importantly, his mother. Absently, he fingers his bright shoulder-length locks. Now I know where I got my hair color from at least. Secretly putting the folder away in his jacket, Naruto proceeds to clean the rest of the tower, looking for any more clues about his clan. He finds something else later in the night.
As Naruto starts to go into the basement, he sees a door, with the Uzumaki swirl above it. No fucking way. Kami-Sama must really love me tonight! Quickly going to the door, he tries the handle, it doesn't budge. Naruto nods, having expected as much. He pulls his hand back as he accidentally pricks it on the handle, blood dripping onto the floor beneath his feet. A brilliant blue light starts to glow from beneath his feet before the door swings open. Naruto blinks, then silently fist pumps into the air. Yatta! Now, to find out more about my clan. While all of this is going on, someone is looking on from within.
I'm glad the kit is finally going to learn about his parentage and clan. Now maybe I can start to teach him some things that I know… The vixen silently giggles from within, continuing to watch on as Naruto proceeds to plunder the whole vault. He puts everything into a few storage scrolls he found laying at the door.
After about an hour or so of cleaning the whole vault of various scrolls, books, weapons, and armor, the place is cleaned out. Naruto grins from ear to ear before dashing from the place. He summons a shadow clone, having him proceed to clean the rest of the basement. Once that is done, he dashes from the Hokage tower, making a beeline for his small apartment on the outskirts of the Inuzuka clan. Naruto smiles as he enters his apartment, his mind going back to the first day he got his new apartment.
Flashback
It's the day their sensei officially made them a Genin squad after completing his stupid bell test. Both Hana and Naruto lay on the ground in the field, smiling at each other despite their exhaustion. They had managed to work as a team with their third member, Haruno Sakura who had been 'Kunoichi of the Year' though it was complete bullshit. She was only book smart, while both Hana and Naruto actually trained.
Getting up, Naruto pulls Hana to her feet, a light blush adorning her features as he does so.
"Say Naruto, how about coming to my clan's compound? Kaa-Chan has something she wants to show you I guess." Naruto looks up excitedly. Tsume has always been nice to Naruto, one of the few that usually is nice to him. He nods his head, as the two of them leave the field, their teammate stomping off long ago, more than likely to stalk her crush.
After arriving at the Inuzuka compound, Tsume grabs both kids, practically dragging them by the scruff of their neck. Just like a mother wolf does to her kids. "Naruto" she starts, as they walk to a small apartment complex near the compound, "The clan got you a new apartment. This way you are out of the red light district. Also you're closer to us now as well." She says this last part while winking at Hana, who glares at her mother with a scarlet blush on her face. She chews on her bottom lip at the smug look on Tsume's face.
"Really? For me?" Tsume nods, tossing a set of keys at the young redhead. Naruto's face brightens as tears start to fall down his face. He turns to Hana, engulfing her in a tight bear hug. She can feel the air leave her body, even though she's happy he is hugging her.
"That means I get to see you more often Hana-Chan!" He exclaims excitedly. He dashes into his apartment, dragging Hana by her hand with him. Tsume shakes her head while stifling a laugh at her daughter's predicament.
Flashback End
Naruto enters his apartment, going straight to sit down at his mahogany table in his kitchen. As he sits down, he feels himself get pulled from reality. Next thing he knows, he is in a sewer of some kind.
"How in the Kami-Sama did I end up in a sewer?" He ponders aloud.
"Cause I brought you here kit." A very melancholic voice comes from behind him, startling the hell out of Naruto. He turns in surprise, jumping in the air. Naruto stares at the large fox with vibrant orange fur that looks super soft to him sitting behind some jail bars.
"Your fur looks super soft!" He blurts out, before covering his mouth in embarrassment. Kurama stares at Naruto, blinking in sheer confusion.
My fur is…. Soft? She glances down at her fur, looking at the freshly licked fur. A wry smile wiggles its way onto her face. I er- I suppose it is.
"That's very kind of you, young one." Naruto looks up at Kurama excitedly.
"So what's your name?" Beedy blue eyes stare up inquisitively at Kurama, who merely blinks at the exuberant young child. She shakes her head, her tails swishing in the water behind her.
"Your kind calls me 'The Kyuubi.' As for my real name, I shall tell you it if I ever deem you worthy of knowing it." At this, Naruto's visage diminishes significantly. With a sad look on his face, adding his deep blue eyes, Kurama almost caves right then and there. By Kami-Sama he is so adorable!
"Wait, if you're the Kyuubi, doesn't that mean you are the one who killed the Yondaime? Does that mean you're the reason the village hates me as well?" Kurama nods to him. Naruto looks up at her with passive confusion. "You don't look like you would do that though. You seem too nice." Here again, Kurama is taken aback at the sheer intelligence that seems to guide her host at times.
She laughs a very loud laugh that ends with Kurama on her back rolling around in the water. Eventually, she stops laughing to see Naruto staring at her with a deadpan look.
"You amaze me, young one. Most humans in your current predicament would be screaming in confusion at seeing me or fear for that matter."
Naruto just shrugs as he sits down in the sewer water.
"Well, I try to not be like everyone else, especially when it's obvious I'm only a host, not the actual thing. Though I stand by my statement, I do not think you are all that bad." Kurama just looks at Naruto, fully looks at him. She takes in his appearance, the ripped clothes, the small amount of blood present on his body.
"You want to be a shinobi, correct young one?" Naruto nods his head so enthusiastically his hair whips over his head violently.
"How would you like me to train you then?" Naruto's eyes turn as wide as the ramen bowls in his cupboard at the mention of training.
"You mean I could become a shinobi like lord fourth? Hell yes! I'm going to be the strongest shinobi ever!" Naruto starts to run around in circles excitedly as Kurama sweatdrops at the hyperactive knucklehead. Kurama chuckles as she contemplates whether or not she should tell him about his ancestors. No…. He will find out eventually anyway, besides if he doesn't know then he won't go asking for things he shouldn't. Naruto starts to feel a tug at the back of his mind as Kurama ponders internally. The sewer water slowly starts to move towards Naruto, which raises the curiosity of both him and Kurama.
"It seems you should get going young one." With that, Kurama flicks her tails in Naruto's direction, sending him tumbling down the darkness of the sewer behind him. Naruto's mind fades back into reality, to see a seemingly young anbu with midnight black tresses and a crow mask on, staring at him pensively.
Naruto feels the sheets on top of him shift as he tries to sit upright, his vision swimming with the sudden movement. Seeing nausea take hold over the young Uzumaki, the anbu gently lays him back down, rearranging the sheets as well.
Watching his Jiji walk in the small bedroom door, his smile slowly grows wider. Hiruzen smiles softly at the young boy, ruffling his hair gently. He nods to the young operative. She shunshin's out of the bedroom, a purple streak the last thing they both see of the operative.
"Naruto-Kun, how do you feel?" The kindness in his tone earning him a beaming smile.
This village doesn't deserve such a smile, not after what it has done to this child so often.
"I'm fine Jiji. I don't know what happened, but it was awesome! I got to meet this super nice fox, who said she would take care of me! Oh yeah, her fur was super soft as well!" In Naruto's mindscape, Kurama can feel a maddening blush take control of her face. In her human form, which she refused to show to the young kit on the first meeting. Kurama covers her face in her hands, trying to fight off the blush as best she can at the praise and compliment.
Hiruzen on the other hand, tries to contain his shock from showing on the outside in any shape or form.
The Kyuubi has made contact already? Does Kakashi know about this? This could be very troubling, especially with the increase in mobs attacking young Naruto. I had hoped with him becoming a Genin last week, they would slow down or at least stop. Yet, they haven't…. This might push him to leave the village, and with what happened to the Uchiha not so long ago…
"Jiji! Are you even listening?" Hiruzen snaps back to reality, as Naruto snaps his fingers in front of his face, jumping up and down. He ruffles the bundle of red hair sitting on Naruto's head, smiling down at him.
"I'm sorry my boy, I must have spaced out for a second. Would you mind repeating what you said?"
Naruto rolls his eyes, yet smiles at Hiruzen.
"I said that she wants to help train me! Oh also, what are summons?" Hiruzen just stares wide eyed at Naruto.
"Where did you learn about summons my boy?"
"Well, during our Genin test thingy, Kakalate-Sensei did this jutsu that summoned a couple of dogs! After asking him about it, because I thought only the Inuzuka had dogs, he said it's a summon!" Hiruzen merely shakes his head. Only Naruto would ask about summons because they didn't go with what he already knew, not because they look cool.
"Well my boy actually-"
"Hokage-Sama," Hiruzen turns as an anbu approaches from the door. "The elders are requesting your presence in your office." Hiruzen glowers at them. "The elders do not order me to do anything, I am the Hokage of this village, not they. I shall remind them of this, but very well. I'm sorry my boy, we will talk more later when I have time." Naruto nods, his head dropping slightly.
As Hiruzen leaves, Naruto pulls out some scrolls from under his bed, with the Uzumaki symbol on them in dry blood. He stares at the scrolls, before a knock on his door resonates through the small apartment. With his head still spinning, Naruto calls out to the door.
"It's open!" Tsume walks in, with Hana and Kiba in tow. Hana bounds over to the bed, worry written all over her face. She jumps onto the bed, sending a small jolt of pain shooting through Naruto, before she pulls him into a fierce hug, her generous assets dressing firmly into his chest. Naruto blushes lightly, but waves to Tsume and Kiba. Tsume grins at Naruto, drawing an air heart. Naruto's face heats up to a darker shade of red than his hair as Hana finally lets go from the crushing hug.
Before anyone can speak, a loud crash comes from the hallway, followed by several very drunk Chūnin, all smiling menacingly with kunai out and gleaming off the moonlight from the small window in the room. Tsume tenses as both Naruto and Hana dive behind her legs. One of the Chūnin makes his way forward into the room, a dark red hue plastered on his face.
"Hand over the blonde fucker Inuzuka. This doesn't involve you. Only the demon needs to get his just dues." He leers at Naruto, who stares back with some trepidation in his body, yet bravery shines in his eyes.
"You don't touch him. He is under protection of the Inuzuka clan, for you to be this bold near my clans territory is something you should reconsider, Chūnin-San." He shrugs his shoulders slightly, before darting into Tsume's guard, slashing upwards. Blood flies as the kunai gets stuck halfway into her grabs his hair with her other hand, flinging him across into the rest of the group. Blood drips from the wound, some muscle peeking out from beneath her shirt. She grits her teeth as she dislodges the kunai, her vision starting to swim.
Poison. The fucker wanted to poison him?
Before he can make another move, several anbu flicker into the apartment, pinning him to the ground. More anbu flood the apartment, with Hiruzen in tow. Hiruzen's face is dark.
I've never seen Jiji so livid before….
"Take them to Ibiki." The pure cold rage in his voice sends shivers down everyone's spines as the several of the anbu obey immediately. The others move to Tsume, who has now fallen to the floor in a cold sweat, her eyes half lidded. They nod to Hiruzen, before flickering with her, as well as Naruto and Hana, to the hospital.
"Emergency room now. Prepare one immediately for a severe injury to the upper arm and lower shoulder." The night shift nurse just stares for a moment, at the bloody and, now clearly sick clan head in the lead anbu's arms, with two very worried children right next to his leg. The nurse nods, before pressing a button. Loud sirens go through the hospital as the group rushes to the nearest emergency room. Red lights wail on the walls, as the group flings open a pair of doors. Several doctors rush about as Naruto and Hana stay outside the room, staring in hope.
"Okaa-san…" They both say as doctors and medic ninja shout instructions and coordinate with each other.
"Fujisagi-Sensei, she's going to lose her upper body if we don't cut the arm off, now." An older man nods to the nurse.
"Do it then. Better she can live with mobility than be paralyzed." The door slams shut on Naruto and Hana, with a young nurse grabbing their hands, taking them to a small waiting room down the hall. Both would fall asleep curled up with each other.
Hiruzen paced his office as he glanced at the letter currently sitting on his desk. It was a request to summon the council, from Tsume.
This is going to be about the attack four days ago, I'm sure of it. With a weary sigh, Hiruzen motions for his anbu. A young purplette with a neko mask flickers in front of him.
"Send out summons for an emergency council meeting, as well as tell Tsume she has her meeting request approved. Go." The purplette nods, before vanishing.
An hour passes as Hiruzen and Tsume sit in the council room, alone for the moment.
"What did the medical ninja say?" Tsume shakes her head, her hair waving in the air slightly.
"I'm finished. I have a high risk of stroke, as well as heart and organ failure from the poison, as well as blood clotting. There is nothing they can do for me, I can't be a ninja anymore." From her side, Kidōmaru growls his irritation at not being there for Tsume when she needed him, when she wasn't even fifty yards from his territory.
Hiruzen grimaces, disappointment and anger hidden beneath his calm face. If they listened hard enough, they could maybe hear the screams from the unfortunate souls being played with at a certain scarred man's pleasure.
The doors to the council room open, allowing the rest of the clan heads, as well as the civilian representative and the elder council to enter the room. Once they have all been seated, Shikaku speaks up.
"Hokage-Sama, what is so important that we had to meet at six in the morning for a meeting? This couldn't have waited until later?" Hiruzen shakes his head, before glancing at Tsume.
"I believe I should let Tsume explain since she has called in her clan's emergency reparations act clause to summon this council. Clan head Inuzuka, please speak." She nods solemnly, as the rest of the council now takes in the obvious civilian clothes, as well as the lack of a left arm where there should be one.
"Honorable council, it comes with great sadness that I must inform you that I have been directly attacked without provocation by the village my clan has sworn to protect, while defending someone under my clans sworn protection as well." As she speaks, her voice gets harsher with each word, before she is barely speaking above a whisper. A glass of water appears before her, before she drains the glass of its contents.
"I have been relegated to a civilian, with my arm gone as well as possible organ and heart failure a high possibility from stress, not to mention strokes as well. I have discussed it with my clan. I would like to say that they are very upset with this village. Upon finding out, the culprits for this attack come from some distinguished clans as well." Now the council was sweating, the loyal Inuzuka were upset and attacked? Not good…
"Clan head Kurama, Clan head Yamanaka, as well as Clan head Hyuuga, please rise." Hiruzen's commanding voice booms through the room, the three clan heads now sweating bullets as Hiruzen turns a frigid stare upon them.
"Each of your three clans made up the attackers on the Clan head, as well as our resident jinchuriki. All three of you must unanimously agree to repay this attack, or the Inuzuka has called to leave this village with all of its assets in tow. This includes our Jinchuriki, who is under protection of the clan.
"They can forget it then, if she was defending that thing, then she deserves no sympathy on my part." The head of the Kurama clan spits vehemently at Tsume, who only shakes her head in disappointment. Both Hiashi and Inoichi glance at each other, before glaring at the Kurama clan head.
"Are you foolish, or do you hold a death wish? You are not a major clan in the village, Kurama-San. Nor will you ever be, even if you try to kick one of the major clans out. The Inuzuka helped start this village with the Sarutobi, Senju, Uchiha and Hyuuga. They were here before my clan came, yet this would be how you treat them?!" Inoichi seethes at the poor fool, who merely shakes his head.
"Let the bitch leave for all I care, this village doesn't need a bunch of mutts anyways." Silence fills the council room, before a loud crack fills the room as the table bends under pressure.
Shukaku, with some sweat rolling down the back of his neck, turns to Tsume.
"Tsume please, don't let this fools' words get to you." Shikaku glares at the idiot, before turning back to Tsume. "This village needs you and your clan Tsume. Not only that, but as a friend I would hate to see you leave. You have done a lot for this village, to throw it away at the words of a delusional fool doesn't seem to be a good idea." Before Tsume can speak, Shibi speaks up.
"Tsume-San, where would you go if you were to leave the village? Your old clan grounds back in the warring states are now under Iwa territory, logically you would have to speak to the Tsuchikage before even attempting to do so." Tsume merely glances at Shibi and Shikaku.
"Hmph. I don't understand what you two, some of the largest clans in Konoha, care for some clan that only cares about their mutts. They do nothing except let their wild instincts take over constantly. If I recall correctly, wasn't it your dead husband who let my wife die on that mission in the third war, Inuzuka bitch."
With a face full of hatred and rage, Tsume stands while glaring at the clan head. She turns from the table, walking over to Hiruzen. She stretches her hand out abruptly. Hiruzen sighs, before pulling five storage scrolls from within his robe. She nods, before walking out of the room, pausing in the door as Homura calls out to her.
"Tsume-San please reconsider! You can't leave the village! This village needs your clan and its resources!" Tsume merely shrugs her shoulders. "You mean the village that seems to not even value my clan and what we do? Fuck you." With that, she slams the doors to the council room, sending them falling off the hinges. She walks down the hall, turning the corner and disappearing completely.
"Kurama-San, you may have just doomed us all." The voice of Shimura Danzō floats from beside Hiruzen across the eerily quiet room. The clan head sits down in his chair with a huff, before shrugging.
"This council is dismissed. As of this day, the Inuzuka, as well as Uzumaki clan have now left the village. They are free to travel where they wish, so says the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen."
