With a grin, Ross chimed, "You've always been on my strings, boy. You've forced my hand, now live with the consequences." He gestured to the Avengers, before typing on the phone. "Kill them."
His body rushed forward on its own… and he promptly tripped.
"Cut!" came the director's voice, and laughter bellowed out of the nearby cast as they helped the young actor to his feet.
"Are you okay?" Ross's actor asked, a knowing grin on his face.
"I'd be more fine if I hadn't eaten the floor," Peter's actor muttered, though a smile showed he wasn't upset. "Alright, we should probably try that again."
"If you had told me I'd be playing the main character of a popular TV show a year ago, I probably would've laughed," The young man admitted. A tagline appeared at the bottom of the screen- Tim Hilland, 19, Peter Parker. "I mean, woah! It's any theater kid's dream to star in a show, but most of us don't get lucky just out of high school. It's really an honor."
"Of Webs or Weapons is something I hadn't seen in the industry before," an older man remarked. Wilbur Downey Sr, 47, Tony Stark/Iron Man, appeared as the actor continued, "It's an ambitious project, sure, but also a bold one. How many pieces of media exist that would be willing to cover such serious topics? Not many."
"I've done my fair share of shows before," came a young woman's reply, accompanied by the tagline of Scarlet Johnson, 33, Natasha Romanov/Black Widow. "But this is one I'll remember. We have so much fun on set, and the cast… it's impressive how talented my co-stars are. I don't believe anyone better could've suited the given roles."
Both had flowers in their hands, and laid a few beside the graves, before handing him two flowers. "I heard it was polite to bring flowers for the dead," Nick said, though there was a slight smile to his stony features that made Peter certain it was a joke.
And, well, he supposed it was true; he had been dead, both legally and literally. He laid the flowers on his lap before he said, "Thanks for the flowers- dammit!"
Tim groaned and buried his face into his palms as Sam shook his head and Jesse chuckled. Belatedly, the actor said, "One of these days I'll remember to use the phone."
"Isn't that what you youngins are best known for?" A cameraman crowed.
"Not on set!" Tim called back with a grin.
"It was really interesting, waiting for the second season," Tim remarked, throwing an arm around the young man sitting next to him. A tagline introduced the young man with Tanner Hilland, 19, Weaver. "I couldn't wait to see how many people would think I was also playing Weaver, and missed that it was my brother."
"In fairness, we are twins," Tanner pointed out good-naturedly. "And the full-eye contacts removed one of the biggest differences in our looks."
"You guys should've been there when Tanner got to join us on set for the first time, instead of being in the voice-over booth. I couldn't get him to stop talking!" The younger twin said, nudging Tanner playfully.
Rolling his eyes, the older twin shoved him back. "It couldn't have been worse than when you got your role. He woke us up in the middle of the night to show the casting call on Wikipedia."
"Okay, yeah, that's fair," Tim admitted, before smugly adding, "Still, I got to get back on you after all your 'I'm the older twin' remarks by being the star of the show, while you're Peter's alter."
With the raise of an eyebrow, Tanner remarked, "Yeah, but now I get to star right along with you for the foreseeable future. Granted, our spotlight is shared with other actors and actresses, but now I'm getting paid to embody those remarks as the 'practically a protective older brother alter'. You can't escape your fate."
Tim let out a sigh before falling dramatically back against his twin. "Fine, you got me there."
"It's all just... moving so fast," the former asset's voice grew softer at that, a dark shadow falling over his mood. "I'm used to living in volatility, yes... but it's a lot of changes within just under a month."
"At least the changes, this time, are mostly pheasant- whoops," Ben's actor giggled against the mic stand as the others in the recording booth laughed along. "Pheasant changes!"
"I was honestly expecting a fib from Connor," Tanner admitted, resting his arms on his turned-off mic. "You went, like, an hour and a half of recording without interruption last session."
"You do have to admit Connor and Maya breaking into song was great, though," Breylee, Rose's actress, chimed in.
"I don't get to chime in often, so I'll take what I can get," Maya, Mayflower's actress, said. She turned to the man next to her. "Hey, Austin! Do you think we should do a karaoke session after work?"
Austin, Araneae's voice actor, simply smiled and said, "Get your parents to agree and I'll find us a place."
"Hey!" Tim's voice came through the intercom to the booth. "Don't forget me in this. I want in."
Breylee folded her arms, a pondering expression on her face. "You think we should throw on the get-ups as well, just make the media go wild by doing karaoke as the clutter?"
"Yes, absolutely," Tanner and Tim chimed at the same time.
"How the hell am I gonna look like a spider? Get a costume?" Austin asked, perplexed.
"You don't actually get a spider costume, dude. You're tall enough you could get away with a simple cosplay," Breylee mused.
"Could you help me put on the blue make-up, Brey? I can't quite apply it the way you do," Maya said, before adding, "I'm absolutely down to see the chaos that ensues when the public sees Mayflower talking. The memes alone would be worth it."
"Sure thing, Maya. I suppose I could do your guys's make-up too, Tanner and Tim. God knows you'll need a lot of it, Tan." Breylee laughed, and danced out of the way when Tanner scowled and swiped at her.
"It's not my fault Weaver's got lots of drippy spots!" Tanner muttered, though his smile soon turned smug. "Though I will take you up on the offer. It'll be fun to walk the streets looking half-dead. Halloween would come early."
Connor threw a celebratory fist into the air. "Yes, this is gonna be fun!"
"I'm glad to hear you guys having fun," the voice director said, amusement prevalent in her voice. "But you are still at work. Let's wrap the scene up and y'all can go terrorize the public in your cosplays."
"Yes, ma'am!" The group chimed.
"I just kinda 'woke up' to being in the front, and no one was there to say I couldn't, so I've been active! And it let me find a cat friend!" Ben enthused, before frowning as a growl emerged from the nearby feline. Ben lowered his voice and coaxed, "Oh, sorry, I don't wanna upset you. I do wanna pet you though, so-"
Tim prepared to jerk back to mime a bobcat hitting the plastic of the 'prosthetic' arm, but instead fell backwards and lost his balance. With a laugh, he shook his head and said, "Okay, cut."
"I don't know, I thought it would've been pretty fitting of Ben's character to fall over," a cameraperson remarked.
"Yeah, but their instinct probably wouldn't have let them fall over quite like that," the actor mused, before sighing. "I've gotta get back into Ben's vibes again. Oh! Did I capture how Ben talked well, though? I sat down with Connor for a long time, just trying to get the right bubbliness and inflection for his character."
"I approve!" came Connor's voice from the back.
Tim hung his head and shook it fondly. "I should've known you guys were on set today." Seeing that the shot wouldn't be continuing any time soon, and the crew was back discussing camera angles, the young adult got up to approach his co-stars. "What were you guys here filming?"
"It's a secret," Breylee said, wagging her fingers on each hand to add flair to the statement.
"We were just filming for the next episode," Austin filled in, and he held an arm out to fend off Breylee's playful hit. "Was that so hard to say?"
"It was supposed to be a mystery," she huffed with a roll of her eyes. With a grin, though, she mused, "I'm glad we finished early enough that I saw you fall over, though. I don't get to see it often enough since your gymnast self typically has great balance."
"You say that, but there's at least a minute of bloopers of Tim just falling over," Tanner remarked smugly.
"Hey! You try keeping a good balance when you do most of your own stunts!" Tim shot back good-naturedly.
"I think you're doing just fine," Maya said.
"Thank you," Tim replied.
"...for now."
Tim frowned down at Maya. "What's with the ominous statement?"
The young actress turned to walk away, and only paused to glance over her shoulder. "Wouldn't you like to know?"
"Damn, can't believe you're getting sassed by a fourteen year old," Tanner snickered. "Get owned."
"What's wrong with being sassed by a fourteen year old, Tan? You got something you need to prove, or are you just jealous that someone younger than you can do better burns?" Connor asked with a raised eyebrow, before mimicking Maya's walk-away.
Breylee let out a low whistle. "Caught in 4k by a twelve year old, dude."
Tanner let out a sigh. "I deserved that."
"Yes, yes you did," Austin agreed, before lightly slapping him on the back. "Are you gonna take it lying down, though, or are you gonna stand up for your integrity?"
"I'll back you up, bro," Tim said, staring after their two younger co-stars. "I need to gain some pride back, too."
"Oh, this'll be good," Breylee chimed. "I'm tagging along just to see how this goes."
One of the nearby camerapeople overheard the conversation and called out, "We're gonna take a break, so go ahead!"
Tim flashed them a thumbs-up, before turning to their small group with a shit-eating grin. "Well, you heard 'em. Let's go try to get some honor back from Maya and Connor."
Tanner matched the grin with his own. "Lead the way, bro."
