"I'm sorry, Bakugou, but you can't be a hero anymore."

To say that the world of Bakugou Katsuki shattered would be an understatement.

His world was nuked.

At twenty years old and a successful young adult, Bakugou wore the title of hero with pride. His head always held high, nothing would bring him down his mountain top.

Except for five simple words.

"You can't be a hero."

This was something he'd expect motherfucking Deku to hear, and there was absolutely no doubt that he did, but for Katsuki Bakugou? This was something he'd expect to hear in a parallel universe.

The lad couldn't move from his chair, the only thing he was aware of were the heavy amounts of bandages on his arms, and the president of the Japanese Hero Association.

"You heard what the doctors ordered," the President continued. "Your arms are in such bad shape that they'd be rendered useless if you continued the path of a hero. On top of that, your attitude is making it hard for heroes to work alongside you, so I'm sorry."

Bakugou didn't bother looking the man in the eyes. "When do I get my next paycheck?"

The president sighed. "In about three days."

"Isn't there something else I could do? Maybe physical combat? Behind the scenes? Become a Sidekick?" He hissed out the last word. He'd do just about anything to remain a hero…

...Even if it meant being ordered around by minor heroes.

He felt that any low life hero would hire him, he was the number five hero after all.

"No."

Bakugou stiffened. "What did you say?"

The president shook his head. "Even if you weren't to use your quirk, much like the number three hero Deku and number thirty hero Lemillion, your arms are still frail enough to the point that even a simple spar would injure them continuously. This means that you're at risk of paralysis if you continue this path."

Bakugou's eyes narrowed at the mention of Deku. The colleague ended up not using his quirk most of the time, and strictly used it in chases and tight physical matches.

He scoffed. Of course he'd mention Deku. Everyone did.

But he held his tongue on that matter. "What am I to do now?"

The man in front of the blonde shrugged. "Do just about anything that's not too physically demanding, I guess." He clapped the seething blonde on the shoulder. "The sky is the limit! With your academics, you could enroll in a nice university anywhere around the world! You could become a teacher, a musician, even a guidance counselor."

His smile dropped immediately.

"Anything that has nothing to do with fighting. I'm warning you, Bakugou. If you so much as wrestle with a villain and we hear about it, you're in for prison for a while."

The blonde was silent.

The elder man smiled softly. "Thank you for your service, Bakugou. It was an honour."

"Tch."

The blonde walked out of the room, anger and shock rising in his system.

As Bakugou walked down the hall, he fought the tears that threatened to flow. He ignored civilians that tried to gain his attention, his temper rising at the thirty-first "Dynamight!!" that called out to him.

"Then again, I'm one of them now." His inner monologue reminded him.

"Katsuki!"

This gained his attention. He silently looked up to a cheerful Mina, Sero, Denki, and Eijiro. All still in their hero attire.

The group reached him, and Mina was the first to notice his shift in attitude.

No longer did his temper flare, he just seemed…

Ashamed.

"Hey, what's going on? How was the visit to the clinic?"

Bakugou scoffed, not in the mood to talk. "Fine."

"Katsuki…"

"I said I'm FINE." The injured man spat.

Denki cocked a brow. "You sure about that dude? You seem in the dumps to me. How about we go on patrol together? Get your outfit!"

Bakugou didn't bother answering. He turned around and started walking.

Eijiro frowned. He stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Bro, what's going on?"

Bakugou didn't know what happened, but something in him just snapped.

That hand was one too many that was on his shoulder today.

With wild eyes, he grabbed the hand and yanked on it, causing the redhead to fly forward.

Eijiro's eyes widened as he was flipped. Before he could cry out he was on the ground, and he noticed his friend grab his arm in...pain?

Well, he did just come out of a wreck a couple days ago.

Bakugou hissed at the newfound pain that spread through his arm. Grabbing it, his attention now focused on the limb.

Maybe that doctor was onto something.

"Dude! What was that for?" He heard Kirishima cry out. He internally smirked. He knew he got a good hit in.

He didn't bother responding, for he found solace in walking away.

The group looked in the blonde's direction for a while. Kirishima rubbed his bruised arm, concern written on his face for the now ex-hero.

"What happened in that clinic?" Sero mused out loud.

The ashen blonde finally made it home after dark, thanks to the line at the supermarket being longer than he bargained for. He fumbled with his keys, cursing them silently when they dropped to the ground.

He bent to pick them up, when he heard a panicked "help!" Call out a quarter of a mile away.

He tensed, two options weighing on his conscience.

He could save the soul,

Or he could walk away.

One option could jeopardize his future,

The other could jeopardize an innocent's future.

"If you so much as wrestle with a villain, and we so much as hear about it, you're in for prison for a while." The cold words of the president rang in his ears.

Now what was he going to do?

"Tch."

Grabbing his keys, he unlocked the door and threw the bags in his arms inside, and sprinted to where the crime was taking place.

'As long as I just use my legs, I should be fine. Deku does it, how hard could it be?'

He caught up to the criminal, who wielded a sword, and was in a position to swing it at the innocent.

"No witnesses, kid. It's just business." He heard the villain shout.

And before the villain knew, he sent the masked man flying into a wall with a single kick.

Bakugou smirked. "No witnesses, huh? Reminds me of me when I was in high school." He bent his torso forward, feigning the use of his arms. "Now let's see what you got!"

The villain picked himself up, only to see the incoming missile that was Dynamight, and promptly dodged, a sigh of relief escaping his throat as a tennis shoe barely missed his skull.

Bakugou scowled when he saw the kick didn't land. 'Using my legs only is harder than I thought. It fucking blows that I can't use my arms often.' He didn't blink as he dodged a sword swing. After a few matching blows and dodges, he jumped back to catch his breath.

'At this rate, I'm going to tire out. I need to finish this.' The blonde thought, before raising his arm to blast the villain away.

Before he knew, several strands of tape caught his arm, and he was electrocuted with the villain, who was having a far worse time than he was.

Bakugou slumped to the ground, exhausted and in pain. He wasn't out, heavens no, but the sword wielder was. Glancing to the side, he almost scowled at the disapproving looks of his friends.

He simply opted to look away.

"Katsuki," Mina started. "What the hell were you thinking?"

He looked at her in surprise. "How the fuck-"

"We heard from the directors and the president of the hero association. Now tell us why we shouldn't kick your ass here and now for endangering your life and possibly crippling yourself permanently?" Kirishima interrupted.

"Is the civilian alright?" Even if he was in trouble, he had to make sure the person was okay. That was the reason why he was here in the first place.

Kaminari scoffed. "I'm so glad you care, number five. Yes, the civilian is safe and in custody."

Bakugou's eyes narrowed. He didn't like that tone at all. "Now listen here, Pika-"

SLAP*

All was silent as the pinkette hit the ashen blonde, who was now shocked.

Mina was never one to act on her anger like this. She always voiced her anger in a mock fight or an argument, or even when she dances.

She never would hit a colleague, or a friend.

He resorted back to looking away, his check burning from the slap.

"Katsuki."

He ignored her.

"Katsuki, look at me."

He rolled his eyes, mouth twitching. He wanted to scream at her so badly, but couldn't muster the courage.

If there was anything he was scared of, an angry Mina was close behind his angry mom.

"Katsuki, look at me. Now."

Now that caught his attention. Her being angry with him was scary enough, but her being stern with him?

Now he knew he was in deep shit.

Hesitantly, he turned his head towards the angry pinkette. Looking at her expression, he slightly shuddered.

She glared at him. "Do you even know how much trouble you're in right now?"

She didn't even wait for a response.

Grabbing her phone, she typed on a browser and just about swung the phone at his face.

Katsuki paled, his eyes wide.

It was an almost blurry video of a sword wielding man…

...and him.

At four million views already.

"Shit." The response was involuntary.

Pocketing the device, she crossed her arms across her chest. "Yeah. 'Shit.' Didn't the man warn you not to look for any fights?"

"The civilian needed help, so-"

"No. Nuh uh. You don't get to play that card. We were finishing our patrols, and you could have sent a text to either of us. Kaminari's phone screen is even linked into his costume, or have you already forgotten?"

The blonde looked at his lap, the gears turning in his head.

She was right. Pikachu could have seen a text, but he needed that anger in him out.

And a civilian in trouble was his excuse.

"Did you even try to check up on the woman?"

That was new. He hasn't even seen what the civilian really looked like. He just saw the villain and started fighting.

"I'm going to take your silence as a no." Turning to the boys, her head dropped. "Guys, I don't know what to do. I don't want him to go to prison-"

"We'll take it from here, Pinkie."

The entire group jumped at the new voice, who happened to be the new police commissioner, Tensei Iida.

The brunette wheeled over to the ashen blonde, and frowned. "Bakugou, Katsuki. Age: twenty. Used to be the number five hero Dynamight. We warned you what happened when you picked a fight, and we even gave you the option to lead a normal civilian life. Now you've thrown it away."

Bakugou started to panic. This was so real, too real. He looked towards his friends, only for his heart to drop at their disapproving looks.

The commissioner continued. "Now, you're under arrest for vigilantism. I'm sorry, Bakugou, but there's no other way. I wish you made the right choice and stayed out of hero work. Please stand, if you can, and place your hands behind your back."

In another world, the ashen blonde would have ran. He would have fought back for this injustice. He probably would have screamed at them in desperation, but in this world, the disappointment in Kirishima's eyes shattered him.

The redhead was a man who supported him, no matter what. He followed him no matter where he went. He even became friends with the raging blonde in high school.

In all the years that Bakugou knew Kirishima, he never once witnessed the look in the redheads eyes.

It crushed him.

His friends were regrettable for their silence, but there wasn't a thing they could do or say to alter the situation.

So Bakugou was arrested. He refused to speak in the case that he might cry.

So he remained silent.
