Super Hero-Ld
The Superhero challenge had been held. Despite a strong showing from Harold, Courtney managed to win invincibility. Justin had previously mentioned to Harold and Duncan that the 3 of them were the only guys left in the competition and that it was a necessity to vote off one of the girls. The scene cuts to them at the trailer getting changed out of their superhero gear.
"I got robbed on that challenge!" Harold said.
"Whatever. The girls are kicking our butts. Who are we gonna boot?" said Duncan with mild worry.
"The biggest threat. Courtney." said Justin as he also went wide-eyed to emphasize the name.
Duncan appeared unsettled by the suggestion but was able to change Justin's target by reminding him that she won the challenge.
"Dude, she has invincibility which I'd say leaves…. Leshawna!" Duncan said with apparent enthusiasm.
"There is no way I'm voting off Leshawna! We're supposed to have an alliance with her. Duncan, we should vote you off for treason." Harold snapped back with anger at the suggestion.
"Pals before gals, Harold." Duncan said as he approached Harold threateningly.
"We're outnumbered and if you don't do what I say, I'll tell Leshawna you pick your nose in your sleep."
"You have circumstantial evidence at best." Harold said despite a booger on his finger seeming to confirm Duncan's claim. Why it only showed up then when his fingers were clean seconds earlier is unknown.
Harold storms off out of the cabin in leaving Justin and Duncan.
"I don't like this. I think that the Bffs and Leshawna have it out for me. If Doris votes for me, that would be a majority." Duncan said with uncertainty.
"I'll vote for Leshawna. It won't really phase me, but if we can't sway Harold, I could convince someone else even just for today." Justin said.
"What are you planning then?" Duncan retorted with curiosity. What Justin was planning is to be determined by the audience as the video cuts away.
The screen cuts to the bathroom which is the site of a conversation between Lindsay, Leshawna, and Beth.
"Aw, I wish we could vote off Courtney." Lindsay said with genuine disappointment.
"The girl's got game, that's for sure." Leshawna pointed out.
"I say we vote off Duncan. He super strong and as much as Courtney would hate to admit it, it would probably kill her." Beth said with apparent excitement.
"Kill two jerks with one stone; I like it, but there are only 3 of us. We can't do it on our own." Leshawna claimed. It was true, the 3 of them could be outvoted.
"Leave it to me." Beth said with excitement as she set out to sway Harold's vote.
Leshawna sighed and said "I really hope that girl is not going to talk to the plants." in a jab at Beth's superhero persona earlier that day.
The scene cuts to Duncan near the girls' trailer.
Duncan gets Courtney's attention with a whistle.
"I need your help." Duncan pleaded.
"And why would I help you?" Courtney retorted with apparent annoyance.
"Because you won't have invincibility forever and I'm thinking that it's only a matter of time before the girls give you the heave-ho." Duncan responded.
Courtney opened her mouth to respond, but seemingly realized the truth in his words. She had invincibility so he was not capable of betraying her anyway.
"You gotta convince Harold to vote off Leshawna. Captain Alberta won't listen to reason." Duncan said with an eye-roll.
"You mean your fists?" Courtney said with narrow glare.
"That too. You in?" Duncan said.
Courtney's eyes dart back and forth as she appears to ponder the question. She ultimately smirks affirming that she plans to persuade Harold.
The scene changes to show Harold at the window of the boys' trailer perhaps in deep thought.
Harold's deep thought is interrupted by Beth.
"Harold! We have to get rid of Duncan." Beth said with a sense of importance.
"Tell me something I don't know!" said Harold with a glare seemingly affirming that this was his intention that night.
"My boyfriend Brady has two dogs named Steve." Beth said seeming to take Harold's words literally.
"Wow, really?" Harold said likely due to surprise.
"There are 4 of us. If you vote for him, he's gone." Beth said as she disappeared into the bush.
However, it turned out that Courtney was also listening in and was about to speak as well.
"Harold, I need to talk to you." Courtney said to get his attention.
"Me?" Harold said in shock.
Confessional: Harold
"I knew Courtney would come around. Eventually." Harold said in apparent smugness.
Back at the window of the trailer
"You're the only one who can be reasoned with. The girls are planning to kick the guys off one by one and you're the first to go." Courtney said to Harold surprise.
"Why are you telling me this? Do you expect me to believe that? Beth was just here and just asked me to help vote off Duncan and I know they would vote for him before me. It's not like you and I are even on good terms." Harold snapped back with a glare.
Courtney was taken aback by this retort and struggled to find the words to respond.
"Fine, be that way! Don't say I didn't warn you." Courtney spat back in anger. She realized that Harold's vote wouldn't budge and that it would be hopeless. She left just as Beth did.
Confessional: Courtney
"OK, that didn't go the way I hoped. Harold didn't budge, so Duncan could be in danger. I guess we'll have to try something else."
The scene cuts to Courtney speaking with Duncan at his trailer's window
"Sorry, Duncan. Harold wouldn't budge. I tried." Courtney said in a display of annoyance.
"Not to worry, I had a plan B with someone easier to convince." Duncan said with genuine confidence. Would it pay off?
(Gilded Chris Ceremony)
Chris was dressed in his blue suit as usual as the contestants sat on the bleachers.
"And now, we vote."
The 7 remaining contestants casted their votes with varying degrees of enthusiasm. Harold seemed vengeful and enthusiastic about his decision.
"And Gilded Chrises go to Courtney and Justin. Beth, Harold."
Harold seemed enthusiastic to hear he was safe; it meant that the rest of the alliance kept to their plan to vote off Leshawna and it was likely to be Duncan going home with his vote.
"And we're down to the final 3. Lindsay."
Despite being safe, Lindsay was noticeable nervous as she accepted her gilded Chris.
"And finally…. Duncan!"
Gasps were heard from Beth and Harold, how could Leshawna have been voted off when they all voted for Duncan?
"You guys voted for me?" Leshawna said in genuine surprise.
Confessional: Leshawna
Yeah, I know I messed up with the spa day, but I thought everyone would be over it by now. Ugh, I guess that's showbiz for you."
Back to the ceremony
"Harold, you voted for me?"
"I didn't! I voted for Duncan. How is this possible?"
Cut to a clip from earlier where Lindsay is approached by Justin outside the trailer
"Lindsay, I'm so glad I caught you!" Justin said abruptly startling Lindsay but certainly getting her attention.
"Uh, hi Jason?" Lindsay was clueless as to why Justin had approached her.
Ignoring the fact that she had gotten his name wrong Justin quickly went to work convincing Lindsay that Leshawna was untrustworthy. Lindsay was not aware of the guys' alliance.
"Lindsay, get this. I overheard Harold and Duncan admitting that they were in an alliance with Leshawna and they were planning to give us Former Grips the heave-ho starting with you."
Lindsay looked perplexed by this statement.
"Uh, that means to get rid of. Point is, as former teammates we have a numbers advantage. I need to ask for your vote again. Leshawna is our best bet. I'm planning to speak to Beth after this to convince her as well. I know Leshawna already apologized for it, but she did lie to all of us for a prize and she did call say that you and I have half a brain cell max."
"I don't know Joshua. I agreed to help her vote off Duncan; are you telling me she was lying?"
"Yes, she already lied to us before. She called you, uh, unaware before and she's trying to play you again. This is our chance to be rid of her. I'll go speak to Beth; with her vote, it'll be a tie between us and the former Gaffers. Don't tell Beth about this before the ceremony. I will.
Confessional: Justin
"Yep, I talked Lindsay into voting with us just in case Harold wouldn't budge. Looks like that ended up being necessary. I also told her not to talk to Beth, so she wouldn't be talked out of it. The only issue now is that Lindsay might be mad if she realizes I misled her. Oh well, that's an issue for another time."
Confessional: Lindsay
Lindsay looked disappointed
"Jeremy told me that Leshawna was planning to vote me off, but I wasn't in the bottom two. I think that means that she really was planning to vote off Duncan. Did Jeremy lie?" Lindsay said in genuine thought."
Walk of Shame
Leshawna was perplexed but got over the shocking elimination and still walked towards the lame-o-sine without hard feelings. Lindsay, Beth, and Harold saw her off with varying degrees of sadness.
"I'll miss you." Harold said with genuine shock and disappointment.
"Me too." Beth said also in shock.
"Bye Leshawna." Lindsay said with a hint of guilt.
"Aww. I'll miss you guys too. And, I'll be rooting for you, Harold. Just make sure you stand up for yourselves. Don't let Duncan push you around."
"Hey Harold, what's that in your pocket?" Duncan mockingly said before kicking the burrito and running away.
"Well, I should have seen that one coming. It did feel wet after all." Harold said in only mild annoyance.
"And I guess a certain someone should have seen that coming. And I guess you should see what is coming next time on Total! Drama! Action!"
Votes for Leshawna: Duncan, Justin, Courtney, and Lindsay
Votes for Duncan: Harold, Beth, and Leshawna
Author's Note:
Let me just say that I am not a professional writer or anything like that. I'm just someone who was always bothered by the way that Total Drama Action ended and I wanted to do a rewrite starting at Super Hero-ld. Harold voting for Leshawna at this point always felt weird to me and I got the idea for Justin convincing either Lindsay or Beth instead from a Reddit post of all places. Lindsay just seemed more plausible since she is known for being easily manipulated and this is before heI am planning to keep going, but updates may take a while since I am being bombarded by classwork since I am a college student and it is the month of April. Anyway, I guess Action seemed to fall apart near the end with several eliminations that felt premature or unfair. I will give no spoilers just in case you somehow have not seen Action by now and just happened to stumble upon this, but I felt like the original season had a poor choice for eliminations following this point and I am planning to use an elimination order that was shared with me on Reddit.
My reason for keeping Leshawna's elimination the same? She didn't really have any plot left and it still served to set up future conflicts.
