...
Raven ran to her room completely distraught and anxious. She was so frazzled she didn't even shut the door behind her.
It was an accident; she didn't mean to kiss him. It was an act of impulsion, something she didn't even realize she was doing until it was done. And now she has to deal with the consequences.
She knew he was incapable of pretending it didn't happen, and that caused her to let out a frustrated sigh. She wished to go back to when she wasn't allowed to feel strong emotions. It might have been tedious and lonely, but it was simple. Something she could handle. Because right now, she couldn't handle having non platonic feelings for him.
Of all people, why did it have to be him?
It was all his fault! Why did he have to grow up? Why couldn't he be that annoying, immature teenager she once knew? Why did he have to mature, and become endearing, and dare she say attractive.
What happened? Wasn't it just yesterday that his annoying, prepubescent voice caused her ears to ring? Now the deeper, smoother tone was something she turned into tentatively, instead of blocking out completely.
And when did his manic, hyperactivity even out, becoming a calmer more relaxed persona, that she enjoyed being around?
When did him seeking out her attention become flattering and not bothersome? And when did his stupid toothy smirk, turn into something seductive and enticing? When did he become attractive?
She scuffed loudly. "Attractive…" What a revolting word.
And now she reciprocated his feeling; something she thought was impossible. She used to roll her eyes at his little crush on her. Figuring it was just his male hormonal brain, honing in on anything female. She missed being revolted by his flirtatious winks and smirks, and his suggestive word play.
She could handle being revolted but couldn't handle the captivating excitement that had formed inside her every time he whispered something in her ear. Now him finding her desirable, isn't something she tried to overlook. But instead found gratifying, even if it also made her feel anxious. And what was even worse than her reciprocating his feelings, was now he knew she reciprocated them.
Raven took a deep breath, letting it out slowly, when her body suddenly tensed at his presence. "Hey Rae." She could hear the smirk in his tone, as his eyes bore into her.
She tried to stay impassive, as she slowly turned to see him calmly leaning on her door frame. His arms were crossed, as his lips curved in an arrogant smirk. A part of her wished she had shut her door, while the other was secretly glad she had left it open. It forced her to deal with the consequences of her actions.
"Hi." She addressed calmly, as he continued to smile at her, his body radiating pride and positively.
She didn't want him to know how distraught she was, and tried her best to remain stoic as she approached him. She leaned on the opposite side of the door frame, mimicking his movements as she looked at him.
Beast Boy glanced down at her, something he was now able to do since his minor growth spurt, as he slowly bit his lip intriguingly. "So… when we were in the kitchen…" He began, and she tried not to noticeably tense, as he drew the conversion towards her spontaneous act of impulse. "You kissed me."
She narrowed her eyes, tensely. "It was a brief deficiency in judgment, that I assure you, will never happen again."
He ran his hand through his hair, before propping it next to her, as he leaned over her. His smirk never leaving his lips. "Really?" He inquired, leaning closer to her. She struggled with her impassive persona as he got exceedingly closer to her. "Are you sure that now you got a taste, you won't become ravenous?" He suggested, inches away from her expression.
She continued to glare at him. "I'm sure I can control myself." She drawled sardonically, making direct eye contact as she said it.
He suddenly pulled away, taking his enticing aura with him, as he leaned back on the door frame. "Fine." He smiled. "But if the desire ever emerges again? I'm happy to oblige."
"It won't." She seethed, glaring at him.
"Of course not." He began. "Because Raven never gives into her desires." He said mockingly.
She scoffed. He was inferring her with every aggravating thing he said with the suggestive tone of his voice. He was maddening, and exasperating, and so endearing… That she struggled with the one thing she wished she had more control over, restraint… And so, with lack of better judgment, she conceded, giving into her desire. Moving instinctively, quicker than her mind could protest, as she grabbed him by his shirt and yanked him forward. She forcefully pressed her lips against his, relieving all the tension that had built up in the short span of him being in her room. She ignored the objections. She ignored the humiliation. She ignored her inner thoughts telling her to control herself, that he's just an insignificant boy, that she shouldn't succumb to. But here she was, falling into his hands, surrendering to her human desires. Kissing him as if she were dying from some fatal disease, and he was the cure.
He knew she was hiding something, a dark, secret desire, that he wanted nothing more than to discover. The calm collected Raven had a tipping point, and he wanted to send her over the edge, and he was humored at how little he had to try. Just simply being himself always seemed to trigger her. A simple wink from across the room. A light graze against her soft skin. A suggestive whisper in her ear. It all gradually built up, forcing her to break.
Earlier In the kitchen, all he did was lean in next to her as she propped herself off the countertop. They were doing their playful back-and-forth banter, something he always relished in. When he leaned in suggestively… He did it to get a rise out of her, and honestly wasn't expecting her to act in the way she did. She usually showed some sort of fake distaste, pretending she didn't like the attention he was giving her. But instead, she seemed a little lost in thought, as she watched his proximity increase. Her guard must have been down, as she remained calmly leaning against the counter, as he got drastically close to her. And that was when she kissed him… It was just a little peck, a slight brush against the lips. But it was enough to snap her out of her trance, as she realized what she just did. And he was ecstatic!
No more pretending she found him annoying. No more acting like she didn't see him as more than just a friend. The facade was over. Time to acknowledge the truth, and the truth was she wanted him as much as he wanted her.
Raven pushed him away, as she let out a heated breath. She glared at the delighted smirk that adored his face, as he gazed at her with satisfaction. "Like I said, I'm happy to oblige." He said with a smirk.
She let out a disappointed sigh, as she glanced away defeatedly. "You win." She conceded. "Happy now?" She asked, crossing her arms, the frustration still adamant in her voice.
"Oh, I'm ecstatic." He breathed.
"Now what?" She asked harshly, glaring back at him.
The question caught him off guard and confused him, as he gave her a puzzled look. "What?"
"You won, I conceded." She told him as she walked inside her room. "I gave into what you call desire. I acknowledge that your flirtatious touches have an effect on me. I accept the mortifying fact that I find you attractive, and have developed feelings for you. And that even though I hate every annoying thing you do. I also crave it with every morsel of my being." She slowly turned to face him as she finished. "So, now what? What happens next?"
Beast Boy opened his mouth to respond but no words came to his mind. He honestly didn't think this far ahead. Seduce her into succumbing to her own human desires. Prove that she doesn't find him as annoying as she makes him out to be. And get her to acknowledge her feelings for him.
"Umm…" He stammered, quickly thinking of his next line of actions. "You kissed me." He repeated, looking back at her, resuming his arrogant smirk.
"Wow, it's as if I wasn't there." She said sarcastically rolling her eyes.
"Because you have feelings for me." He continued as he walked into her room.
"We already established that." She said with a tone of irritation coming to her voice.
"Okay, so I didn't exactly plan this out entirely." He confessed awkwardly.
"You didn't have a conclusion to your step-by-step plan?" She asked, although she honestly wasn't that surprised.
"Well, I might have had one in the beginning, but you took so damn long to break, Raven. That now I can't remember." He huffed in frustration, falling exasperatedly on her mattress. She walked over to her bed, hovering over him, as he laid on his back, his legs over the edge of the mattress. Her arms were still crossed, as she glanced down at him. He let out a sigh, as he let his hands run down his face exhaustedly. "Wanna go out?" He finally asked after a minute had past.
"Not really." She said, uncrossing her arms, as she sat down next to him.
"Well then I don't know what to do." He said letting his arms fall down, in dramatic defeat.
"We could make out?" She suggested, shrugging her shoulder as she glanced towards him.
He slowly sat up, his smirk faintly playing back on his lips, as he gave her an intrigued glance. "I'm happy to oblige."
She huffed at the comment, as she turned away from him. "The remarks aren't going to stop, are they?"
He bit his lip, as he reached up, steering her back to face him. "No, they're only going to get worse."
