Authors POV:
It was just another Thursday for Marinette in her apartment getting ready for work, she was brushing her hair when she neared someone calling her on her phone. She walked from the bathroom to the living room where her phone was, it was Luka, her boyfriend. Once she noticed it was him she rolled her eyes and hung up. Ever since she fell in love with him, completely forgot about liking Adrian, moved to LA with Luka… well it's been almost a whole year since I moved from Paris, France to Los Angeles. She didn't feel the same way about Luka as she did six months ago, that's when they got in a huge fight about Luka going back to France for six months for his band and Marinette having obligations for her job and not being able to go. Ever since then Luca said that they were going to have a long-distance relationship, it's been six whole months, and she couldn't handle it at all. She missed him but he called her every night but then the calls became shorter, only once a week for a minute or two. Luka was coming back today and she was going to break up with him, which means she's moving, but she doesn't know where yet. Marinette walked back to the bathroom and finished getting ready, she was walking down the stairs to get to work when Tikki came flying out of her bag and looked at Marinette's face closely, trying to figure out what she was thinking " What?" Marinette said " what are you thinking Mari" Tikki said questionably " Ok Tikki I'll tell you, I'm going to break up with Luka today when we meet up for lunch. " Marinette looked at Tikki and her jaw dropped " MARI ARE YOU SERIOUS!? DON'T YOU LOVE LUKA!? ISN'T THAT WHY YOU MOVED WITH HIM TO LA AND LEFT ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY BEHIND!? " Marinette looked at Tikki with sadness " Yes Tikki but this 'long-distance relationship' isn't working and I feel so sad all the time. I need to break up with him. I don't even have the same feeling I did seven when we first moved " Tikki nodded and said " I believe in you Marinette, and you deserve better. " Marinette hugged her Kwami and descended down the stairs. It took Mari 15 minutes to walk from her appearance to work so when she got there she didn't waste any time and went to work. She worked at a design company called LA Studio Design, the company shipped clothes everywhere around the world. ( Alya bought everything Marinette made for her company but Mari doesn't know ) she was working in her sketchbook when her alarm went off which means it's time for lunch and time to break up with Luka. She got an uber and went to one of Lucas restaurants Takos and Beer. I walked in the door and couldn't find his blue hair until he ran up to me and gave a tight hug and whispered in my ear and said " I missed you so much, Mari." " I missed you to Luka. ( she pulled away from Luca ) I need to tell you something." They sat down, Luca looking concerned we sat down " I ah, I'm Luca this long relationship thing isn't working and I know when I got here you were going to tell me that your band was going on another tour in two weeks and I'm so happy for you and your band so I'm just don't feel the same way I did when I moved in with you. I want to break up." Luca looked at me with sad eyes and froze. We slowly looked down and said I'm sorry about the long relationship thing but I couldn't go on tour, but it was a once and lifetime opportunity and yes we're going on another tour in a couple of weeks. I'm so sorry Mari I didn't mean to make you feel so sad and in the dark if you want to break up because of that, I understand ….and Mari I need you to know before you leave that I will always care about you." Mari looked at him with kind eyes and said " goodbye Luca, and don't worry about my stuff at home I got extra work done early so I can pack after lunch. " Mari got up and left. She felt good about herself, that's when she realized that she needed a place to live. She didn't want to stay in LA. She was thinking about where to move when she froze a smile crept on her face and got really excited she ran to her apartment and when she got there she was out of breath. Tiki was about to ask what she was freaking out about until she saw Marinette turn on her phone and call her parents then Tiki started freaking out too. The phone was ringing and Sabine answered the phone " Hello this is Sabine how can I help you?" ( Marinette changing her voice ) " hello can I have a dozen croissants and half a dozen macaroons please." Ok, that's the name for this order? "
Marinette Dupain Chang " " OH MARINETTE HI HONEY HOW ARE YOU!?" " Hi mom, I'm good, we'll sort of, I just broke up with Luka." " Oh hun I'm so sorry " " It's ok, and I have a big surprise for you!" " What" " IM MOVING BACK TO PARIS!" " YAY! Where will you be staying?" " I don't know yet but I'm on ? trying to find an apartment." " Oh Marinette you don't have to do that, you can stay here in your old room until you find an apartment to live in. " " Mom are you sure?! " of course." " Thanks, Mama I have to start packing, tell Papa I'm coming back home that I love him." " Ok, I will by Marinette." " By mom."
