Hello everyone!
Welcome to my new fanfiction that I almost have completely done and will be uploading every once in a while. The rating is for Violence, blood, language, triggering descriptions of violent acts and of course smut for later chapters. I really hope you like it and can't wait to hear what you all think. I'm always open for reviews, both good and bad as it makes me a better writer.
It had been a long day. I pulled my long white hair back into a ponytail and started the large pile of dishes my parents had left behind. My brother was beside me with a towel ready to dry them after I was done with one. All I wanted to do was run to my room and play one of my many video games I loved to play on long days but I had way too many things to do. I sighed as I scrubbed at a particularly tough bit of food.
"I'm guessing your classes didn't go well today if you're in this much of a bad mood." My twin looked at me with understanding. He ran his fingers through his shoulder-length black hair and rolled his shoulders.
"I'm guessing yours didn't either." I gave him a sympathetic look. Our parents had sent us to a private school and made sure we had no classes together. They hated that we spent so much time together instead of with other people. Said we where never going to gain social skills by talking with only one person, would never hold the skills to take over there company if we didn't get out more. To be honest, we wanted nothing to do with them.
They where slobs that didn't realize there kids knew there company was going bankrupt and didn't want to slave away trying to fix it. They where crazy in every sense of the word. They had put us in a genetic experiment when we where young for money for there business, we didn't even know what they did for work and never asked. The only thing they thought came from the experiments was my white hair and our matching crescent moon tattoos on our wrists, but for as long as we could remember my brother and I have been hiding that the experiments worked.
We finally finished the dishes and began going to each room picking up trash and cleaning the floors. When everything was finally cleaned I was about to walk to my room to play some games when I looked at my brother. Something about his face made me second guess my plans.
"Whats wrong?" He twisted his long callused fingers nervously looking around like he was expecting our parents to jump out.
"Can we go for a walk? I don't want to be in the house." I just nodded. I always had a soft spot for my brother. He always got us into trouble but I would always get us out of it. We grabbed out school blazers and walked out the back door. My white and red plaid school skirt almost blew up as we walked out. I looked at the sky and realized dark clouds where moving fast around us. I didn't bother to look at the weather this morning but I could tell it was going to rain. Oh well, we wouldn't melt if we got wet. Seb pulled his white and red trimmed blazer closer, the crest of a phoenix blazing on his right breast. I on the other hand embraced the cold Fall air with open arms. We walked into the forest that was behind our country home and climbed up the steep hill. After a good ten minutes of walking my brother finally spoke.
"I'm sorry I've been keeping quiet. Mom and dad had secret cameras put up with microphones the other day and didn't get the chance to tell you till now." A branch tore off one of the near by trees and I swore.
"Sorry I didn't mean to do that. Seb you should have found a way to tell me! What if I was moving shit in my room without knowing!" I flexed my hand and willed the ice in by body to fill my veins. Controlling ice was easy but moving things was a bit harder to control since it was the latest power to come in. He gave me an apologetic look and kept walking.
"I'm sorry. It's not like we have twin telepathy, too bad they didn't give us something cool like that at the lab. Would have made it so much easier to talk to you now." He smiled and looked at his own hand, willing a flame to dance above his fingers.
"No, you're right. I snapped and shouldn't. I know not to use magic at home anyways. Remember when mom almost walked in on my speed cleaning?" I let out a laugh as we walked into a clearing. Cute little pixies where floating above some of the last flowers before winter set in and a bear was having a drink from the stream on the far left with her cubs. They kept a weary eye on us as we walked to the middle of the clearing to relax.
"So have you finished playing dragon age yet?" Seb asked, twirling a blade of grass between his fingers before burning it.
"Which one?" He gave me a funny look and I gave a laugh. "Ah you mean Inquisition. Ya I've rapped it about five times by now." I laughed again at the look he gave me.
"How did you rap it that many times already? Also what did you play as each time?" I was a little embarrassed to admit that I had actually rapped it ten times but what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him.
"I played as a human the first time and rouge but found I didn't like it that much, all the other times I was an elf mage." He laid down in the tall grass to look up at the sky with a look of understanding before answering.
"I played as a Qunari first and two handed warrior but felt like it was too slow. The second time I played as an elf rouge and it fit perfect so I didn't bother to change it for my other run throughs. Who was your main team?" I always had the same team each time so I said.
"It depends. I always had a rouge, warrior and extra mage on my team so I would have Cassandra most time as the warrior and sometimes Iron bull. Varric for rouge and Cole the other times and for mage I would have Solas until the end, then I would have Dorian in Trespasser. I hate Vivieene, gods do I hate her. She's always going on and on about how my character was a lesser mage because she wasn't a circle mage! Ugh" I hucked an ice ball at the river and the bears ran back into the woods.
"Wow, you really do hate her. I'll keep that in mind if I ever become a mage not to take her aid." He laughed at my random bout of anger and grabbed my right hand in his left, sliding his grip up my forearm and lining up our marks. An instant wave of calm washed over me as they aligned to make a full moon.
"Thanks, you didn't need to do that." I chuckled and stood up, brushing the leaves and grass that was stuck to my legs and skirt. Pulling my socks up to my knees and righting my shirt and blazer I pulled my brother up from the grass.
"Come on, let's go on an adventure or something. I remember seeing an old cabin over there last time we where out here." I pointed past the river and to the forest beyond it. He nodded and walked to the river and waited for me to catch up. I extended my hand and froze the water so we could walk over it. When we made it to the other side Seb melted the ice so if our parents decided to come find us they wouldn't see it. It was a bit of a trek up the steep hills before we came to another clearing. The rain had just started to trickle through the trees and I stopped Seb.
"Do you feel that?" The air was thick and charged. An unnatural humidity hug like a think blanket making our hair stick to our skin.
"Something isn't right. We should turn back." Seb was grabbing my arm as the arch of lightning came down on a tree right behind us and a crack of thunder ripped over head.
"We won't make it home! Run for the cabin and we can wait it out there!" I shouted over the rain as it smashed down on us. I cursed as we slipped over the wet leaves and mud the closer we neared the cabin. Just as we reached the door another flashed came down just down the path we where on. I ripped the door open and we tumbled in, Seb kicking the door shut from where we fell on the floor.
The only sound in the cabin was our ragged breathes and the rain hitting the roof. I got up and looked around, the cabin was a cute little thing with a small kitchen on our right and a lounge room. There was a little walk way with a railing to the two small bedrooms and a bathroom on the far left. Just outside the kitchen there was another door which I guessed went to the basement.
Seb walked over to the fire place and through some logs in before lighting it. I hugged my arms and walked into the kitchen to see if there was any food left from when someone was up here last. The place was too nice for someone not to be here regularly. The fridge was empty, meaning someone wasn't here at the moment but the pantry had some canned food if we where stuck here for too long. Seb had already left the fire and walked to the door to the basement.
"Hey Syb, it's locked, you wanna come over here and open it?" I rolled my eyes and waved my hand toward the door. The locks clicked and the door opened.
"What? Do you think they got dead bodies in the basement?" I laughed as his face fell
"Don't worry Seb, we aren't exactly your average people in a murder story." I made frost fall from my hands to prove my point but didn't put them out as we went into to dark space. Seb called flames to his hands to light the way, being careful of the hanging cobwebs as we turned down into the open space. The floor was all dirt and some random junk was lying around like someone was having a party and ditched really quick. Seb was too busy looking around the stuff left while I looked at the dirt. In the faded light of Seb's flames I could see things carved in the hard packed dirt.
"Hey Seb, come over here a sec and look at this." He rushed over and looked at the marks. We where standing in a huge circle with marks and swirls. The marks almost looked like it was burned deep into the earth.
"Can you feel the Seb? Can you feel that weird sense of power rolling out?" I asked but didn't get a reply. He was too busy tracing a finger over a familiar word etched into the middle.
"Is this... Elven?" I crouched down next to him to get a better look and sure enough the word 'shia' meaning travel and the word 'viane' meaning open where carved into the dirt in Elven.
"Syb your Elven is better than mine, what does this say and what is this?" I could feel my eyes go wide and I grabbed for my twin to hall him out of the circle.
"Seb I think someone tried to make a portal to Thedas." Before we could move, before we could react. The lighting outside flashed a blinding green as it hit a transformer outside the cabin and the basement's stale air hummed with magic. The marks at our feet lit up and the green light was no longer outside but all around us. I clung to my twin as I felt our bodies being flung through time and space.
Everything hurt. The world felt like it was spinning and tilting in a never ending raging ocean. It felt like hours before I felt a cool hand on my face whispering in Elven that everything would be ok and to rest. I opened my eyes to see silver eyes that looked so familiar but couldn't remember where I had seen them before, the wave of pain rocked me unconscious again.
When I finally woke up again everything was black, like someone had snuffed all the light from the world. My head was throbbing with information. Memories from a different life filtered through without rhyme or reason and just when I was getting a grasp of the small lifetime of horrific memories someone came into the area and lit a torch. The room was a large cell with no furnishing. I was shackled to the floor with Seb to my right. I was just about to ask if he was ok when a green light flashed and he screamed out in pain.
"Oh good, you are both awake. Time to go." A voice said from the door. The man came forward and unlocked us from the floor and shoved us to the door. He brought us to a smaller room and I felt someone shoving me down to my knees and shackle me. I could feel someone's shoulder brush against mine in the dark and prayed it was Seb. After a moment the door busted open and two people walked. While my eyes adjusted to the new light I could hear a voice speak in between me and my brother.
"Tell me why we shouldn't kill you now. The conclave is destroyed. Everyone who attended is dead, except for you two." Cassandra's voice was seeping with rage as she walked to stand in front of us. Seb and I shared a look before I answered.
"What do you mean everyone is dead?" I could feel how scared I was through my voice. This had to be a dream.
"Explain this." She grabbed Seb's hand, pulling it into view just as the Anchor sparked to life.
"I can't" Seb said through clenched teeth. He looked like he was in pain.
"What do you mean you can't?" Cassandra said through clenched teeth.
"I don't know what that is, or how it got there." Seb said and she went to grab him.
"Your lying!" She pulled at his arm like she was going to hit him.
"We need them Cassandra." Liliana rushed from behind us and hauled her off.
"What ever you think we did, we are innocent." I had to defuse the situation, I couldn't think of the game or how everything went but I felt rather then remembered the words to say.
"Do you remember how this happened, how this began?" Liliana asked me instead of Seb. Probably thinking she would get more information out of me than him.
"I remember we where running, things where chasing us, and then... a woman?" My mind was a jumble of memories, only fogy where some were missing
"A woman?" she asked. Looks like something I said sparked her interest so I continued.
"She reached out to us, but then..." Cassandra had heard enough and turned to Liliana.
"Go to the forward camp Lilliana. I will take them to the rift." Liliana left and I could feel my heart sink to my stomach. I would much rather deal with the cool-headed Nightingale than the brute Seeker. Cassandra walked over and took the shackles off our hands but kept them bound with rope.
"What did happen?" Seb asked as she moved to his. It would also seem like he didn't believe this was happening.
"It will be easier to show you." She got up and led us out of the dungeon and out of the Chantry. The blinding light of day hit us and it took a moment before we looked up at the green sky.
"We call it "The Breach" It is a massive rift into the world of demons that grows larger with each passing hour. It is not the only such rift, just the largest. All were caused by the explosion at the conclave." Her voice was laced with sadness as she explained everything to us. Not that we needed it.
"An explosion can do that?" Seb asked trying to keep the ball rolling.
"This one did. Unless we act, the Breach may grow until it swallows the world." Seb screamed and fell to his knees. I dropped with him and held his hands through the pain, whispering that it would be over soon.
"Each time the Breach expands, your mark spreads... and it is killing you. It may be the key to stopping this, but there isn't much time." The mark calmed and I helped him up and met Cassandra's eyes with as much determination I could muster.
"If we can help we will." To my surprise my voice came out even and strong, stronger than I felt. Cassandra nodded her head in approval and led us through the town of Haven. I tuned them out as Seb talked with her. I had to remember, remember everything. We needed to get to the first breach and close it, but playing the game and living it in real life are two different things. Not only did I have to remember everything but memories from what I'm guessing my body went through before we where stuffed in them kept creeping into my mind. A life growing up in clan Lavellan and ever moment after. We made it out of town and Cassandra turned to us with a small dagger. I tried not to flinch as she walked up to us and cut our binds.
"Your mark must be tested on one of the smaller rifts, hurry." We settled into a light jog while Seb kept talking to Cassandra. Most likely trying not to talk to me and blow our cover. We where making good time when I seen Seb tense, then fall to the ground screaming again. I don't think I'll ever forget those screams and I told him so.
"The pulses are coming faster now." She said as she helped me pick him off the ground and turned back on the path. The conversation died off until we came to a bridge over a frozen river. It was my turn to tense as a flaming fade ball came and crashed into the bridge causing it to crumble and send us flying into the ice below. Just as we where getting to our feet another fade ball came crashing down a little away from us bringing Wrath demons.
"Stay behind me!" Cassandra said as she rushed forward to kill one of them. Like clockwork the next one appeared behind her coming straight for us. Seb spun and grabbed two daggers that where laying on the ground and threw me a staff. Thankfully my body moved like I had used the weapon a million other times as ice ripped forward and hit the demon. If it weren't for Seb being there I would have been screaming like a little girl as those large talon fingers came swiping at us. Before it began the battle was over, my hands where shaking so bad I almost dropped my staff when Cassandra came running over.
"Drop your weapons." She had her sword drawn on us like she was ready to attack.
"We need to have weapons. We won't survive the demons if we are unarmed." She grunted in understanding and sheathed her weapon and found a new path to our destination. We fought some shades and other demons on our way to the rift but they died quickly as we ran to make it in time. We walked up to another broken bridge and could hear the sound of fighting.
We stood overlooking the scene before us. It was just Varric and Solas fighting wave after wave of demons coming from a rife not far off. You could tell they where tired and almost about to retreat when Seb let out a war cry like nothing I've heard before and jumped down to join the fight. Cassandra jumped next, but I stood looking out at everything and caught Solas's eyes. A shiver went through me as I registered that it was him who brushed my face so tenderly back in the cell. I stood there another moment looking into his eyes and felt something snap into place in my mind. Not wanting to think much into it I jumped down blasting ice at any demon in front of me. I slowly made my way to stand directly behind Solas. If I've learned anything it was that long ranged fighters should stand back-to-back to make it easier not to get flanked. I could feel a barrier spring up over me and was about to shout a thanks when I saw a Rage demon coming up in his bind spot.
"Solas duck!" I called out realizing too late that I made a mistake in calling his name, but he ducked and I fired an ice shard killing the demon. He gave me a strange look as my face went red all the way to my pointed ears. He didn't say anything and carried on fighting. It took everything I had not to stare at him while he fought. Finally after another ten minutes of fighting the demons stopped coming.
"Quickly, before more come through!" Solas yelled as he grabbed Seb's left hand and raised it to the Rift. A ray of energy burst forward and the Rift sizzled shut and a calm wash over the clearing.
"What did you do?" Seb shook his hand like it had pins and needles.
"I did nothing, the credit is all yours." Me and Seb knew this song and dance. I stood quietly behind my brother trying not to draw attention.
"So I CAN actually do something." Seb said looking at his hand.
"What ever magic placed the breach in the sky also placed that mark on your hand. I theorized that mark would be able to close the rifts in the Breach's wake and it seems I was correct." His voice sounded like liquid honey as he explained things. This was going to be hard not to talk to Solas while in Thadus. I didn't tell Seb how many times I've romanced with Solas in the game. It made my toes curl trying not to fan girl.
"Meaning it could also close the breech itself." Cassandra said coming to stand next to me.
"Possibly, it seems you hold the key to our salvation." His voice had a hint of sorrow in it but when I looked I couldn't see any of it on his face.
"Good to know, and here I thought we would be ass beep in demons forever. Varric Tethris, rouge, storyteller and occasionally unwanted tag along." We nodded to Varric and I pointed out his weapon.
"My name is Sebastian and this is my twin sister S..."
"That's a nice crossbow you have there." I said. Trying to get a better look at it. It looked so much cooler in person.
"Ah isn't she, Bianca and I have been through a lot together." I laughed.
"You named your crossbow Bianca?" No matter how many times I heard his stories I always loved hearing them again and again.
"Of course, and she will be great company in the valley." He said smugly while turning to Cassandra.
"Absolutely not, your help is appreciated Varric but."
"Have you been in the valley recently Seeker, your soldiers aren't in control anymore. You need me." He knew he had her and smiled with all his teeth.
"Uuhhgg." Cassandra walked away in frustration as Solas came closer.
"My name is Solas if there are to be introductions. I am pleased to see you still live." Seb greeted him since I greeted Varric but Varric added.
"He means I kept that mark from killing you while you slept." Seb turned to Solas with a questioning look.
"You seem to know quite a bit about all this." Seb interjected.
"Solas is an apostate, well versed in such matters." Cassandra said across the small alcove we where talking in.
"Technically all mages are apostates now Cassandra, my travels have allowed me to learn much of the fade far beyond any experience of a circle mage. I came to offer any help I can to the breach. If it is not closed we are doomed regardless of origin." I had to give my head a shake. I couldn't keep thinking of moments that technically didn't happen yet but it was still hard not to picture him in his immortal armor.
"That's a commendable attitude." Seb added. I could tell he didn't like Solas from the smallest ton in his voice. I pinched him with my powers, a warning to play nice, and watched as he rubbed the pain away in his arm.
"Merely a sensible one, although sense seems to be in short supply nowadays.
Cassandra you should know the magic I felt here is unlike any I have seen. your prisoner is a mage but I find it difficult to imagine any mage having such power"
"Understood, we must get to the forward camp quickly." Solas walked with Cassandra and Seb like he wanted to keep as much distance between me and him and I didn't blame him. Varric came to stand next to me and gave me a reassuring smile.
"Well Bianca is excited." I laughed and we walked up the mountain together until we made it to the forward camp.
The forward camp was stationed on one of the many bridges on the mountain with soldiers running this way and that grabbing supplies. As we walked up to Liliana I could hear the all too familiar voice of a frantic Chanceler yelling to put us in chains.
"Stand down." Cassandra commanded the soldiers coming our way. They stood down and walked away without a second thought. Seb and Varric had walked up with Cassandra and I stayed back to look at the view while they dealt with the situation of where to go. I can't believe I've never taken the chance to see the beauty of the valley even with the breach's green light above it.
"It just occurred to me that we never got your name. I do not wish to call you a prisoner and since you know mine it would only be fair." Solas said in a calm voice. I just barely held in my flinch. I didn't hear him approach me. I blinked a couple times realizing he was right. I had interrupted Seb before he could say it. I had to think of each word, afraid I would tell more than needed.
"My name is Sybel, It's nice to meet you." His silver eyes feel like they are boring into me.
"Nice to meet you Sybel. It is nice to see you awake and not dying on a dungeon floor." I couldn't help but look at him then. His eyes where soft and kind, nothing like the sharpness they held in the game.
"Thank you for that. I was wondering who it was that was treating us so kindly in such a dark situation." I meant every word. A smile that didn't reach his eyes played on his lips and I could see the sadness he held for just a moment before he hid it behind his mask.
"You are welcome. Though I must admit I still don't know where you learned my name." A blush was creeping up my face again and before I could stumble out an answer Seb called over.
"Sybel, Solas! We know where we are going now. Hurry up or I'm leaving you behind!" I jumped and ran to him.
"You wouldn't dare!" Varric laughed as we walked toward the mountain pass to find Liliana's missing team while we walked to the Conclave.
The mountain pass was as you would expect it. Cold, windy and very high up. Everything was going smoothly until they came to a cave in the mountain.
"We need to go though this to get to the temple. This is also where Liliana's men went missing so be on your guard." Cassandra's voice was calm like there was no place else she would rather be. We where all quiet until we came the cave opening and heard the sounds of battle. We rushed into a camp and found the lone survivor from the nightingales group cornered by demons. My staff was in my hands before I could register my hand grabbing it and began firing my ice magic. Solas put a barrier around everyone as the demons began to turn toward them. Good, more demons on us meant the more chance for the spy to survive.
Cassandra and Seb rushed forward to get between the demons and the spy and Varric stayed by my side, Bianca firing bolts faster than I thought possible.
"Thank you! I thought I was dead for sure." She was wounded but would make it. I relaxed a little and helped her along as we walked the rest of the way to the temple. When we arrived we handed the injured spy over to the healers who came up the mountain to help and a human came running up to great us.
"Thank the Maker you made it. Everyone is in position and ready." Cullen yelled over as we waited for him to join us.
I had to admit Cullen was very good looking in real life and couldn't get over how perfectly groomed he was in such a ruined environment. Cullen directed us to the ruins of the conclave and we finally directed our attention to the breach.
The breach was nothing more than a massive green column of light but the wrongness of it screamed through my bones. I felt Seb come to stand next to me and grabbed his hand to steady myself.
"I've never felt anything like this." He whispered as he squeezed my hand tight. I could only nod my agreement as we walked passed the rows of chard bodies frozen in agony of there final moments of life.
"How did we survive this?" I asked as we walked into the remains of the temples main room. Red lyrium and debre littered the entire area
"You both had physically walked through the fade and came out after the explosion. Your brother must have opened a rift and walked both of you through." Solas explained just behind me. I looked to Seb but knew he wouldn't have any memory's of the event like I would.
We made it just under the rift and heard Corypheus's voice before I remembered the demons that would be pouring out of the rift when Seb tried to close it. I tightened my hand on my staff and let go of his hand.
"We can do this." I whispered to him so only he would hear me. Everyone was already dispersing to look for clues and wouldn't hear us talk.
"Sybel, I got to ask. Do you have new memories in your head? Did this stuff actually happen to us?" I stiffened but nodded.
"We will get through that too. We need to worry about one thing at a time. Let's take care of the rift for now and worry about our memories and life later."
"Syb... I. I'm going to be out for a couple days. Are you going to be ok? Are you going to be able to handle being alone here? What I'm trying to ask is, will we make it?" I gave him a faint smile and put my hand on his shoulder.
"Just treat this fight like the game and keep fighting. All our magic works here. I don't know to what extent but if you do down I will still be able to heal you." He nodded and gripped the hilt of his daggers tighter.
"And if you go down? Who will heal you?" I smiled the brightest smile I could before I answered.
"There is another mage here Seb. If I go down then Solas will heal me enough to get back up." His eye twitched at the name and I scowled at him.
"I forgot to mention that maybe you should stay away from the fade expert Syb." I noticed Solas looking at us not far away and watched my brother lean in close to whisper in my ear. "I heard your little slip up at the first rift and I've been watching the way you look at him. I'm going to take a guess and say you romanced him." My eyes where still locked on to Solas's as Seb's words sunk in and a blush crept up my face before I looked away. "Might not want to get to close to the Dreadwolf twin, He might catch your scent." I shoved My brother away from me and tried to keep my face covered as I stomped past him to look at the breach. I could hear him laughing at me as I took a deep breath to calm my racing heart.
"You ok kid?" Varric had snuck up on me and I tried my best not to let it show.
"I'm fine Varric, thank you for asking. My brother likes to tease me and sometimes doesn't realize when he goes too far. Let's hope we survive this so I can pay him back later." I gave him a fake smile but knew he would see right through it.
"Alright everyone, get ready!" Cassandra called and I made sure to put myself on the far right of the field so I wouldn't get trampled when the pride demon came through. I watched as Solas also took up a spot not too far away from me.
"I get the feeling your brother dislikes me." He said it in the most bored sounding voice but I could tell it bugged him. Solas didn't say anything unless he wanted to know something or wanted to be heard, regardless if he sounded bored. Everything the man did was for a reason.
"Sebastian is protective. He will dislike anyone or thing that has a possibility of harming me or him. At this moment he dislikes everyone in our company. It's not his fault, its just the way we are. We trust no one." He nodded but I could tell the answer didn't satisfy him. I was about to speak again when Seb threw his hand up and opened the breach.
Lines of green light blasted out and demons appeared everywhere the light landed. With a mighty boom the pride demon dropped down out of the rift and far down field. I felt a barrier spring up around me and yelled my thanks as I blasted each demon that made it my way. I was just getting used to the feeling of battle when Solas yelled from behind me.
"Sybel duck!" I dropped hard onto the ground and rolled out of the way of a rage demon as he pelted it with ice. "There, now we are even." I laughed as I got back up and froze in terror as the pride demon charged right for Solas and back handed him out of the way. He smashed into the far wall. I had barely enough time to run out of the way before the demon charged past me toward Cullen and Cassandra who where drawing it to them. I slid to Solas's side and tried to keep the fear from stopping my movements. He had blood coming from his head and he groaned and clutched his stomach in pain.
"Don't move, I'll have you fixed up in a second." He groaned again as my magic spread through him, finding all the wounds and sealing them. I was just about finished when Seb started yelling for me. I turned my head to see what Seb was yelling for and found the pride demon looming over us getting ready to slam its fists. I threw my body over Solas to shield him and snapped my eyes shut and waited for the pain.
However, the pain never came. The only sounds I could hear was Solas's labored breath in my ear and a smashing noise that was coming from above me. I turned to look at what stopped the demon and found two barriers between us and it and Solas's hand reaching out past me to hold one in place. The other inner shield was mine that came up without me thinking.
"I can not hold the outer barrier for long. We need to move." He said through gritted teeth and I went to lift him but realized I still didn't heal one of his worst wounds. I watched as he flinched in pain from a wound in his stomach. I forced him back down and placed my hand over the wound and began healing it.
"We don't have time for this, we must leave!" I ignored him and kept on with my healing and finished just as the pride demon smashed through the first barrier. Solas grabbed my hand and went to drag me out of there just as the demon smashed into my barrier. I felt my magic quake and knew we didn't have time to run, didn't have time for both of us to make it. I called on all my magic and pulled Solas till he was looking at me.
"If I don't make it, tell my brother I love him and that I am sorry." He went to argue when I pushed forward with my magic and smashed him threw the barrier and away from the demon. I watched as he landed twenty yards away before looking up to the demon as his hands came down on my barrier, smashing through it and hitting me. There was blinding pain before everything went dark.
