Several hours later. District of Columbia City Jail.

Ned Dorneget walks alongside an officer staring straight ahead and ignoring the catcalls directed at them as she unlocks doors and leads him through the jail's holding cells until they reach the right one.

"Here you go" she gestures towards the cell just in front of them.

"Thanks."

She walks away. Through the bars he can see Tim sitting on a bench holding a bloody tissue to his nose.

"How's the other guy look McGee?"

Tim jumps up. They stare at each other a moment.

"She doesn't look as bad as he does" DiNozzo adds stepping into view from behind Tim.

"She?"

"It's a long story. An accident." Tim replies in a defensive tone.

"And what happened to you Tony?"

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you Dorny. What are you doing here?" DiNozzo asks.

"Abby rang. She's still cleaning up now the police have left. She wanted me to come and post bail or somehow smooth things over to get you out. I have. Abby said her party got a little out of hand...? "

Tim nods then winces.

"Glad I left early then. Where's Ziva being held? Do I need to arrange to get her out too?"

"Why would Ziva be held?"

"You guys in a fight of course she'd be there with you. Having your sixes." Dorneget replies with confidence.

"She left early. Ya know after the other incident."

"Oh."

"I really appreciate you coming down here Ned. We owe you one."

"It's okay Tim but..."

"But?"

"Do you have any idea what Gibbs is going to say when he hears about this?"

"I think he'll understand" is barked as Gibbs now wearing a purple cowboy hat, a cowboy outfit and a holster decorated with sequins that he definitely wasn't wearing earlier in the evening steps into view.

Dorneget's mouth drops open and his eyes briefly widen with surprise. "Let's get you guys home."

The officer unlocks the cell.

"It's like I always say" Tony begins patting Ned on the shoulder as he walks past "Weird things happen on Halloween."

The End.

AN. I've always wanted to do an NCIS version of this scene from the JAG episode Wedding Bell Blues.
