This is just something that I felt like posting up. Just needed to get this out of my head. Anyways, hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 1

Sailing for weeks now, Jack Sparrow, a world-known captain, stood upon the yardarm in all his swashbuckling splendor as he finally found the place that he had been searching. The very place that had the ship that he was going to commandeer. The ship that he knew the Royal Navy took pride in since it was known as the fastest ship under their possession and command, The Interceptor.

A loud snap and the sound of water leakage was soon heard under him. Looking down into the dinghy, Jack silently curses at the awful timing. He had finally made it to Port Royal and the bloody thing decided to break on him. Grabbing the rigging tied to the very top of the yardarm, Jack held onto it as he jumped down into the boat and grabbed for the bucket. Bending to the boat's foot, he started to grab a bucketful of water and started tossing it out back into the sea.

Silently cursing, Jack couldn't wait until he commandeered the ship; he wouldn't have to worry about any leakage nor any storm trying to bury him undersea. As he tossed the water out, he made sure to check that he was still going into Port Royal's dockings before going back to the task at hand.

Tossing another bucketful of water, something awful, yet not the first time he has seen it, had caught Jack's attention. There, hanging upon the cliff of the entrance to the dockings, hung three skeletons. Skeletons, who Jack knew were pirates and whose skeletons now have become a warning to all pirates who step a foot upon the island. Brethren of his kind. It matters not if they were good or bad, for pirates are pirates as Jack took off his hat and kindly sent them a moment of respect before putting it back on and looking down at the now calf high water-filled boat.

Knowing that there was nothing he could do, he pulled on the rigging to go up on the small mast and stood on the Crowsnest as the now sinking boat slowly sailed him towards his destination. Of course, that earned him some weird looks from fishers, merchants, and traders who were loading and unloading merchandise and goods to one another. Their stare, however, did not bother him as he was used to being stared at. Whether it was from admiration or, what he is pretty used to, despised and anger.

Upon arriving on the docks, Jack spared no seconds to leave the now sunken dinghy and make his way to what he had come for. That is until he got stopped by the harbormaster, with a young assistant by his side.

"Wha-? Hold up there, you!"

Rolling his eyes at the hold-up, Jack stopped and swiftly turned around to the harbormaster and walked halfway to meet him as the harbormaster continued, "It's a shilling to tie up your boat at the dock."

Casting a dubious look at the sunken dinghy mast, Jack looks back at the harbormaster when he opened his ledger, "And I shall need to know your name."

Wanting to make his way to the very ship that he had come there for, Jack decided to bribe the man, "What d'ye say to three shillings, and we forget the name?"

Putting three shillings on the open ledger, the harbormaster looked down at them and was tempted between doing the right thing or not. But, his greed took over and slammed the ledger closed, accepting the bribe, "Welcome to Port Royal, Mr. Smith."

Nodding his head in silent thanks, the two made their separate ways, of course, not without Jack pocketing the harbormaster's pouch that the man had left upon his station. Shaking the thing, Jack grinned in satisfaction when he heard the rattles of coins.

Making his way again to his destination without any hold-up this time, Jack looked around and was surprised by the island's lack of guards. Especially around the docks. Seeing this as a great opportunity for him to get the ship unnoticed, Jack grins. It would seem taking the ship would be easier than he thought.

Or so Jack thought until he looked over and saw two guards under the bridge while he was making his way towards the very ship that he was about to commandeer. Not paying them any mind, Jack tried to walk past them nonchalantly hoping they would ignore him. His hope sank, however, when he heard their rushing footsteps and saw them stopping in front of him.

"This dock is off-limits to civilians," said Murtogg, trying to seem intimidating and severe as he and his partner held their bayonets by their side.

Not the least bit intimidated, Jack casually replied, "I'm terribly sorry, I didn't know. If I see one, I shall inform you immediately."

Trying to go around them, he got stopped when the two side-stepped, blocking his way again. Inwardly sighing, Jack started thinking how he would get the two distracted, or better yet, to get the two to leave so he can have time to set the ship ready to sail while there were no army yet. Until sudden music could be heard coming up from the fort above them.

"Apparently, there's some sort of high-toned and fancy to-do up at the fort, eh? How could it be that two upstanding gentlemen such as yourselves did not merit an invitation?" asked Jack.

Murtogg replied, "Someone has to make sure this dock stays off-limits to civilians."

"This must be some important boat," said Jack, pretending to inspect the Interceptor from far afar.

Mullroy, Murtogg's partner, corrected him, "Ship."

Raising his brows at the man's suddenly speaking out of nowhere, it took Jack a while to understand what he meant before he corrected himself, "Ship.

Murtogg then answers Jack's earlier words, "Captain Norrington's made it his flagship. He'll use it to hunt down the last dregs of piracy on the Spanish Main."

Mullroy ended up correcting his partner this time, "Commodore."

Realizing his mistake, Murtogg corrected, "Right. Commodore Norrington."

Humming, Jack made his way down the dock to gesture at the other Royal Navy ship on the other side of the island, "It's a fine goal to be sure, but it seems to me that a ship like that-" Following him, Jack watched from the corner of his eyes as the two kept themselves in front of him still when they glanced over at the other ship that he had gestured to. "-makes this one here a bit superfluous, really."

Looking back at Jack, Murtogg explained, "Oh, the Dauntless is the power in these waters, true enough – but there's no ship that can match the Interceptor for speed."

Information that Jack already knew. Yet, hearing about no ship that can match the Interceptor for speed? Oh, now that was an insult to his treasure.

Pretending to think about it, Jack gave his little intel to them, "I've heard of one, supposed to be very fast, nigh uncatchable… the Black Pearl."

Mullroy scoffed, "Well… there's no real ship as can match the Interceptor."

Turning to his partner, Murtogg informed him, "The Black Pearl is a real ship."

"No, no, it's not," Mullroy counters.

And begins the argument between the two lads if the Black Pearl was real or not. As Jack watched the two argue about it, he almost wanted to put in his two-cent that the ship was, in fact, real. However, seeing this opportunity of the two being distracted, he quietly passed them and stepped onto the Interceptor.

Walking aboard the ship, Jack walked over to the helm and grin appreciatively at being able to hold a helm under his hands again, even if it wasn't his precious treasure that he has longed for ten years now. Of course, he didn't get to enjoy it for long until the two guards shouted and came aboard, pointing their bayonets at him, "Hey! You! Get away from there! You don't have permission to be aboard there, mate!"

"I'm sorry, it's just, it's such a pretty boat- ship," Jack quickly corrected himself in the end.

Still pointing their weapons at him, Murtogg asked, "What's your name?"

"Smith. Or Smithy, if you like," Jack casually replied, giving them the name that the harbormaster had given him.

"What's your business in Port Royal, 'Mr. Smith'?" asked Mullroy, sneering Jack's fake given name.

"Yeah, And no lies!" Murtogg quickly said.

Seeing no threat from these two, Jack decided to confess his plan, "Well, then. I confess: It is my intention to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise pilfer my weasely black guts out!"

Murtogg frowned, "I said, no lies."

Hearing Jack's confession and seeing how he is dressed, Mullroy, on the other hand, practically believed it, "I think he's telling the truth."

Not believing what he is hearing from his partner, Murtogg turned his head to look at him, but still keeping his weapon point at Jack, "If he were telling the truth, he wouldn't have told us."

Jack frowned, wondering where the Navy had gotten these two. They argue so much on topics that get brought up that he wonders if their argument would either kill or save them if they were to ever encounter pirates, him excluded. Deciding to butt in before Mullroy could start another useless argument between the two again, Jack replies, "Unless, of course, he knew you wouldn't believe the truth even if he told it to you."

Murtogg smiled at the statement since it made sense until he frowned and realized that Jack had taken him for a fool.

The trio's attention was then taken away from each other when they started hearing a hammering sound. Wondering where it was coming from, the three looked around them to find no one until they heard a shout up on the mast.

"Done!"

Looking up, the trio couldn't see who it was, no thanks to the blinding sun. Squinting their eyes through the sunlight, they saw a dark silhouette stand themselves up on the yardarm before grabbing onto the rigging and swiftly yet gently swung down and landed on the main deck. Now that they were at eye level, the two sentry guards instantly recognized who it was.

"Miss Aria? Were you making repairs on the Interceptor again?" asked Murtogg.

Dusting her hands of leftover dust wood, Aria looked at the trio and nodded at him, "That's right. Now, if you gentlemen will excuse me, I have to check down the brig."

Saluting her, the two let her go as she hails the two back. Looking over to Jack, Aria smiled with a nod, "Captain."

Jack didn't reply as he kept his eyes on her, for he couldn't believe his eyes. He had thought he would never see her ever again. And yet, here she was just like he remembered her. Aria Wright, whose ocean blue eyes shine and glimmers like the sunny open sea with her hair as dark as the night sky, shines a dark blue under either sun or moonlight. He thought he had lost her all those years ago. So, to hear her call him 'Captain' makes him wonder if she still remembers him. Considering how they had met a long time ago when he was just a boy upon his father's ship.

Watching her go, Jack never once took his eyes off her as she slowly descended the stairs to go to the brig before he asked the two, now curious why she was here in Port Royal, "Who was that?"

Murtogg was the first to answer eagerly, "That was Miss Wright, that was. Aria Wright, the very first and only female shipwright, and a beautiful one at that." He had sighed wistfully at the end of his sentence, making the pirate captain glare at the man.

"Is that right?" asked Jack, biting his bitter jealousy down.

Mullroy nodded, "Oh, it's right, all right. Miss Aria Wright was even the one who had built both the Dauntless and the Interceptor." He then leaned in close as if telling Jack a secret, "With her own bare hands with no help at all."

"Of course, there are her many suitors," said Murtogg, frowning a bit.

This information caught Jack's attention very quickly, "What suitors?"

Standing up straight, Murtogg replied, "Well, you know how society is. No man would ever accept a lady who would embarrass them by having a bigger reputation than them."

Knowing what his partner was talking about, Mullroy nodded, "But Miss Aria, however, just makes the men want her even more. I heard that the suitors are only going after her because of her talent for building ships."

"No, I heard that the suitors are going after her because they want to put Miss Wright in her place. That no lady like her should dirty her hands by building ships and be a good housewife. Prim and proper," Murtogg argued.

Hearing what these suitors wanted to do to his Aria made Jack's blood boil, for he will let no one ever-corrupt her just to satisfy their reputation. If they cannot accept her for who she was, they do not deserve her.

Catching the ebony hair that belongs to the woman they talked about coming back up from the brig, Jack's boiled blood simmered when his eyes met hers. A smile made its way upon her lips as she made her way towards the trio, wiping her hands on a rag before putting it in her toolbelt. Stopping next to them, she greeted, "Gentlemen, what were you all talking about?"

Before any of them could answer, the four turned their heads when they heard a loud splash. They all wondered what that was until they heard a man shout, "ELIZABETH!"

Eyes widened that it was a woman who had fallen from the fort; the four were surprised that she had not hit the rocks. Yet, they knew they could not let her drown. Looking over at the spot where the woman had dropped, Jack asked the two guards, "Will you be saving her, then?"

Mullroy nervously replied, "I can't swim."

Looking over at Murtogg, Jack saw the man shake his head. He sighs, "Pride of the King's Navy, you are."

Before Jack could take off his effects, he heard a second splash. Wondering who had gone in for a swim, he looked around and found that he didn't see Aria anywhere. Looking down on the floor of the deck, he saw that her tool belt laid there. Not wasting a second to go after her to help, Jack quickly took off his effects and handed them to the two sentry guards, "Do not lose these."

Stepping up onto the rail, he dived straight into the water after Aria and saw her swimming not too far ahead of him. Swimming his way towards her, Jack made it to her side when she started pulling the drowned woman up from the seabed. He went to help her by wrapping an arm around the woman's waist as they both started swimming back up to the surface.

Breaking through the water for air, Jack took a needy gulp of it until he got pulled back under, taking Aria along with them. Mentally cursing at the many layers, Jack pulls the buttons from the back of the dress, giving way, while Aria helped to get rid of it by pulling the sleeves off, letting the thing drown to the bottom of the seabed.

Swimming back up, Jack greedily breathed for air as both he and Aria swam towards the dock. It didn't take the two long until they got to the ladder, and Aria had offered him to go up first, seeing as how he was carrying the woman on his shoulders. Nodding his thanks, he started climbing up until the two guards quickly ran over to take the woman off from his shoulder.

"I got her!"

Laying the woman down on the dock, Mullroy shouted when he inspected her, "Not breathing!"

"Move!" shouted Jack, making his way to them.

Mullroy quickly moved away when Jack, brandishing a knife from his own person, cut the corset's strings and promptly took it off, handing it straight to Murtogg. When he removed the corset, the woman, Elizabeth, coughed up the water she had swallowed as she greedily intakes air into her lungs.

"I never would've thought of that," said Mullroy, a bit sheepish at his lack of knowledge.

Looking at him, Jack mentally rolls his eyes, "Clearly, you've never been to Singapore."

Just then, something around Elizabeth's neck caught his attention as he grabbed it and brought it up close to his eyes. Jack recognized it instantly when he saw the skull symbol in the middle of the medallion.

Looking down at the still dazed girl, he asked, "Where did you get that?"

Before she could answer him, Jack instantly remembered about Aria and went back to the end of the dock to see her slowly making her way up out of the water. Quickly walking up to her, he knelt and gave her a hand, Aria, looking surprised at it at first but gladly accepted it and brought her hand into his. When their hands touched, a sudden spark and warmth engulfed his hand, making Jack's eyes widen and grin at how their touch still affects each other.

Of course, he didn't get to dwell on it when a Captain or Lieutenant brandished the blade of his sword upon him.

"On your feet."

Pulling Aria up with him, Jack looked warily at the sword as he stood.

The tense atmosphere broke when an older man rushed by, taking Elizabeth into his arms as he took off his coat when he saw that she had been disrobed down to her nightgown, "Elizabeth! Are you all right?"

Still, in a daze, Elizabeth answered, "Yes… yes, I'm fine."

Wrapping his daughter in his coat, Jack noticed that this man was of higher title thanks to the dead giveaway of the wig that he was wearing. Telling him that this person has a higher title than the rest. Governor Swann looked over when he saw one of the guards holding his daughter's corset, who then realized what he was holding and quickly dropped the thing as he pointed at Jack. Seeing the man responsible for disrobing his daughter, even though he didn't know that Jack had done it to save her, he immediately saw him as a scoundrel and ordered, "Shoot him!"

Before they could take any action, Elizabeth quickly intervened, "Father!" Looking over to the man who still has his sword brandished at Jack's neck, she continues, "Commodore, do you really intend to kill my rescuer?"

Jack tilts his head a bit when the young woman called the man before him Commodore. So, this was the Norrington fellow that the two guards were talking about. He didn't look much, but seeing as how he was promoted, Jack knew not to underestimate him. Yet.

Looking over at her, Commodore Norrington pursed his lips as he saw that she was right. Nodding to his men to put their weapons down, he sheathed his sword. Jack nods his head in thanks to Elizabeth for saving his hide until Norrington held a hand out, "I believe thanks are in order."

Seeing who he was gesturing his hand out to, they all saw that he wasn't holding his hand out to Jack rather to someone else. Following his outstretched hand, their eyes landed straight onto Aria, who was still dripping wet. Her turquoise blue blouse and light brown thigh shorts were drenched in water, which made the blouse stick to her figure, showing her womanly curves that are mostly hidden thanks to the baggy shirt. Her dark brown boots sloshing with seawater. Seeing this made Jack glared at the men who were eyeing her, even though he too appreciated the view.

Not paying attention to any of the roaming eyes upon her drenched clothed body, Aria shook his hand, "You're welcome, Commodore. Congratulations on the promotion."

Norrington smiled, "Thank you, Aria."

She nodded and took a step back as Norrington held his hand out to Jack this time. Losing his glare now that the attention was on him, Jack looked down at the outstretched hand and eyed at it suspiciously. But he grabbed it to be polite. They shook until Norrington's grip held tightly onto Jack's hand and pulled his hand towards him, pulling his sleeve up to reveal a burnt scar of a large "P" upon his inner wrist.

Seeing this, Norrington asked smugly, "Had a brush with the East India Trading Company, did we pirate?"

Jack winced at being found out until he looked at Governor Swann incredulously when the man gave an order, "Hang him."

Not having to be told twice, Norrington ordered, "Keep your guns on him, men. Gillette, fetch some irons."

Doing as he says, the men brought their guns back up as they pointed it at Jack while Gillette took off to get some irons that he knew were always kept at the docks in case problems like these were to happen. As he waited for Gillette to get the irons, Norrington seemed to have seen something else on Jack's wrist as he pulled the sleeve up more to reveal a tattoo of a sparrow flying over the horizon.

"Well, well… Jack Sparrow, isn't it?"

Hating how they never add his title to his name, Jack corrected him, "Captain Jack Sparrow. If you please, sir."

Glancing at the bay for his ship, Norrington mocked, "Well, I don't see your ship… Captain."

"I'm in the market, as it were," Jack replied sarcastically with a grin. Looking over at Aria from the corner of his eye, Jack couldn't help but eyed the backside of her as the shipwright woman went back on the Interceptor to grab her things before walking back to them. When their eyes met, Aria smiled at him before looking down at her tool belt to make sure all of her things were there.

Jack would've loved to keep his eyes on her throughout this entire ordeal if it weren't for Murtogg speaking out about Jack's plan on the ship, making him turn his head back to them.

"He said he'd come to commandeer one."

"I told you he was telling the truth," said Mullroy, before bending down to grab Jack's stuff and holding it out to the Commodore. "These are his, sir."

Inspecting them, Norrington looked through them, "No additional shot nor powder. A compass that doesn't point north." Checking the sword, he pulled it halfway out and smirked at the pirate, "And I half expected it to be made of wood."

Sheathing it back in its sheath, Norrington continues, "You are, without doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."

Raising his hands, it was Jack's turn to smirk at him, "But you have heard of me."

A chime of laughter came from behind Jack as the Pirate Captain made way when he saw Aria pass, finished strapping her tool belt back on. She patted Norrington on the shoulder, "He's got you there, Commodore. He may be the worst, but practically everyone in the Caribbean, or maybe even the world, have heard of Captain Jack Sparrow."

Jack grinned at her when he saw amusement and laughter in her eyes as she made her way down the docks.

Norrington, hating that Aria was right, sighed quietly in frustration before he held a tight grip on the pirate's arm and started pulling him towards Gillette when he saw that the man finally came back with the irons.

Seeing what the Commodore was about to do, Elizabeth frantically got out of her father's arms. She started to go after the two as she protested, "Commodore, I really must protest!"

"Carefully, lieutenant," said Norrington, not wanting their criminal to escape.

Jack couldn't help but sigh at how everything was not going as slightly to his plan. Then again, he wouldn't have met Aria, so he guesses that's a bonus in his plan now that he knows that she's here. Without any protest, Jack brought his wrists up for the lieutenant to shackle them in iron. However, he didn't pay much attention to what was happening to his wrists. Rather, he kept his eyes on Aria, who was trying to make her way through the soldiers. A woman, so short and adorable, was easily maneuvering her way through them as if she was the wind itself while Elizabeth continues, "Pirate or not, this man saved my life."

When Aria finally managed to get through the soldiers, Elizabeth's eyes snapped to her, and like a viper, her arms shot out and coiled tightly around the ebony-haired woman's arm as she pulled her close to her.

"As well as Aria!"

Confused by why Elizabeth dragged her into this, Aria looked to her, Norrington, and then to Jack as if one of them could explain something. Seeing her confusion, Jack chuckle inwardly at the adorableness of her furrowed brows.

"One good deed is not enough to redeem a man of a lifetime of wickedness," said Norrington, trying to get Elizabeth to drop it.

Feeling the irons shackled onto his wrists, Jack replies his two-cent on the argument, "Though it seems enough to condemn him."

"Indeed," said Norrington, narrowing his eyes at Jack, who merely smirks at him.

Once the shackles were finally on, and the lieutenant left his side, Jack huffed out, "Finally."

With quick speed, his bicep pushed Elizabeth away as he wrapped his manacle chain around Aria's neck. Gasps and a shout of "Don't shoot!" could be heard. However, Jack paid no attention to them when the skin of his fingers brushed against the neck of her skin. He almost groaned at the warmth and spark that made its way up his arm. However, he didn't get to dwell, cherish, nor admire it for long since he now had soldiers aiming gunpoints right at him and his woman.

Jack didn't like that. Not one bit. But he knew that they wouldn't shoot since, from what he has seen so far, practically everyone admires Aria and knew that they would never hurt her. Of course, he would never hurt her either, but they didn't need to know that.

Bringing his head down so he could whisper into her ear, Jack brushed his lips on her ear, sparks, and warmth shivering down his spine as well as Aria's when he heard her quietly moan a bit, making him grin that he wasn't the only one to be affected by it, "I knew you'd warm up to me, love."

Before Aria could give her response, Jack looked to Norrington, "Commodore Norrington, my effects, please. And my hat."

However, when Norrington didn't move an inch at all to get his things, Jack tightens the chains on Aria's neck, though not too much pressure where it'll hurt her, "Commodore!"

Elizabeth pleaded when she saw that Norrington still hasn't moved an inch, "Please, Commodore!"

Glancing at Elizabeth, whose eyes held worries and concerns, Norrington glanced back at Aria, who stood stiff as a board as she was held captive. Her eyes did not show fear, rather, they held confusion and curiosity behind them. He could've misinterpreted them, seeing as how Aria was always such a mysterious woman, yet a woman with a great talent of being a shipwright.

Knowing that they can not lose such a talented and wonderful woman, Norrington huffed in defeat and turned to grab Jack's effects from Mullroy.

When he saw that the Commodore held his effects, plus his hat, within his hands, Jack leaned back close to brush his lips on Aria's ear, "Aria… It is Aria, isn't it?"

Tilting her head back a bit so their eyes can meet, Aria nodded, "Aye, I believe you already know my name though, Captain."

Chuckling, Jack softly brushed his fingers through her still wet ebony hair, "Aria, love, if you'd be so kind?"

Knowing what he wanted, Aria reached out for Jack's effects and hat from Norrington's outstretched hand and took them within her arms. Once he saw that his gun was within reach, Jack grabbed his pistol and held it up to her temple. Spinning her to face him, Jack kept his gun pointing at Aria's head as he pulled her closer to his chest and grinned down at her, "Now, if you'll be very kind?"

Without a thought nor complaint, Aria grabbed his hat out of the pile first and gently put it on Jack's head, clipping the compass on his belt, and lastly, strapping the sword belt around his hip. Feeling her wrap her arms around him, Jack would've loved to stay like that forever. But he knew they couldn't, thanks to their audience and the situation they were in. Instead, he gave practically all the men who eyed him with envy a smug look.

Feeling her loop the belt on, Jack grin, "Easy on the goods, darling."

Looking up at him, Aria raised an eyebrow before fully strapping on the belt and made sure that it wouldn't fall off. Satisfied when she finished, Jack spun her back around as he started to back up, bringing her along with him as he spoke to Norrington and his men, "Gentleman… love… you will always remember this as the day you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow."

Feeling a sense of longing of not wanting to let her go, Jack forced himself to push her away into Elizabeth and Norrington's arms. Besides, he knew he would see her again, now that he knows she is Port Royal's shipwright, and took off up on the cargo gantry, spinning on the thing as he tried not to get shot at when Norrington shouted, "Open fire!"

Swinging and landing on a yardarm, Jack saw the rope connected to it by his head and used the chain of his iron shackle to start sliding down back to the ground. Before he entirely left the docks, the last thing he heard from the woman he fell in love, was her bubbled laughter, "That's the Great Captain Jack Sparrow for you! A man who is always mad."

Her words made him grin as he ran into town while trying not to get shot.
