I'M BACK!

First thing first, happy April Fools!

I love this day as much as I love my birthday.

Now, a bit of info about this story:

1. This is going to be like a sitcom. Basically, every chapter has it's own tiny storyline.

2. This is Future AU. Meaning: IT'S HAPPENING IN THE FANON FUTURE

3. It doesn't have a serious plot and it mostly just me writing things that I think are funny but are probably not.

4. Some of these pranks are/inspired by pranks that I have pulled on others in the past.

5. Emma is based on a person that you know. Can you guess who it is?

6. Yeah there isn't a six. I just felt like adding it :D

So here it is, ladies and gentlemen, the first chapter of my second multi-chapter fic!

This chapter is dedicated to my friends' dog Bella, because I was petting her when I got the idea for this chapter. Bella, if you're reading this, which you're not, I love you and I miss you! ❤

Enjoy!

Chapter 1 - Cats and Dogs

It all began on April Fools. Marinette Agreste didn't plan anything special, but when she was asked to dog sit Hibiki (A/N: in Japanese, Hibiki means sound, or echo) for Luka and Kagami, it was too good of an opportunity to miss.

"I'm home!" She called out, holding Hibiki in her hands.

"Hi Mama… WOAH" Emma said as she looked up from her phone, shocked. "No you didn't," she whispered, fear in her eyes.

"Oh yes I did," Marinette grinned.

"Mama, Dad is gonna HATE you," Emma told her cautiously.

"Well, it IS a prank, he's not supposed to be happy about it," Marinette shrugged. "Besides, your dad would never hate me," she said. "For more than a day," she added. "Or a week."

Emma nodded. "Fair point."

"Oh hi Mom," Louis said. Then he looked at the puppy in her hands. "When Dad comes home, I wasn't a part of this," he said and ran away.

"Nice to see you too, sweetie!" Marinette called after him.

"So how are you going to tell Dad that we adopted a DOG?" Emma asked her mother as they both made their way to the kitchen.

"Oh no, we didn't adopt him," Marinette said. "I'm just dog sitting for Luka and Kagami today. And since it is April Fools might as well become a prank for Adrien."

"Aha, and are you COMPLETELY SURE you want to do this?" Emma asked her again. "He'll be mortified. I'm not even going to be surprised if you two divorce."

"Honey we're not going to divorce over a dog," Marinette laughed. "And your Dad will just have to learn to live with this dog for one day. It can't be THAT bad, even for him."

"You 100% sure about that?"

"How long have I known your father?"

"About twenty years?"

"Right, and I know he's not going to divorce me because of one dog."

"Whatever you say," Emma rolled her eyes. "I'll be in my room packing my stuff and getting ready to move out." She started walking slowly towards her room. Suddenly, the front door closed. Realizing what this meant, Emma bolted to her room. Marinette just chuckled.

"Hey, M'lady, I'm home with the milk… AHHHHHH!" Adrien yelled as he dropped the carton of milk from his hand.

"Hi kitty," Marinette smiled sweetly.

"What'cha got there?" He asked, shaking.

"It's a coffee," Marinette answered innocently.

"I think he meant the adorable dog," Hugo piped up behind his father.

"Don't call him adorable!" Plagg screamed. "That monster will kill us all!" Then the little cat kwami flew away hurriedly to his cheese stash.

"Oh, this is Hibiki," Marinette answered. "We adopted him today."

"W-We?!" Adrien asked, mortified. "You and the kids adopted a dog?!"

"Yep," Marinette smiled. "Cute, isn't he?"

"Can we talk, alone?" Adrien asked his wife.

"Sure," she said as she started walking towards him.

"WITHOUT the dog," Adrien added sternly.

Marinette sighed and put Hibiki down. Adrien grabbed her hand and led her to their bedroom. She entered and he shut the door behind her.

"Yes, kitty?" Marinette asked, trying to hide a grin.

"How could you just adopt a dog?" Adrien asked.

"What do you mean?" Her voice was so sweet that for a second Adrien was sure she didn't do anything wrong. The barks that were heard from the kitchen that second snapped him out of it.

"I mean that it's not like you to just adopt a dog out of nowhere," he said. Then, in a softer tone, he asked "Are you okay?"

Marinette's cunning gaze softened. She told him she adopted a DOG without his approval, and he's worried about her. Now she felt kind of bad, but she was this far, she couldn't back down now. Plus she'll only have to feel bad for a day.

"I'm okay Chaton, I promise," Marinette said softly and gave him a peck on the lips.

"So why a dog?" He asked. "Of all animals, why a dog, when you know that I'm a cat?"

Marinette knew he was going to ask her this, and so she prepared an answer. "There were just too many cats in the house," she grinned. "You, Plagg, Louis, at some point I realized I needed a dog to balance it out."

"But WE'RE CATS," Adrien pointed out. "Cats and dogs are in an endless war. You saw Plagg's reaction to Hibiki."

Tikki ran her hand up and down Plagg's back, telling him softly, "It's okay, it's just a dog," for the hundredth time. Plagg was literally panting.

"IT'S NOT JUST A DOG! IT'S A MONSTER!"

"Yeah, I know," Marinette said.

"I'll be honest, it feels like a bit of a betrayal," Adrien said sadly. "I mean, what's wrong with us cats?"

Marinette was about to answer when there was a big thump in the living room. Opening the door, Marinette and Adrien walked out, only to see Emma carrying two giant suitcases, one of them on the floor, open, with Hibiki sniffing it.

"Oh hi Dad, hi Mama," she said.

Marinette and Adrien looked at each other and then back at their oldest child.

"Honey what are you doing?" Adrien asked in a concerned tone.

"Packing."

"Why?" Marinette added.

"Because you guys are getting divorced."

"Uh, no we're not," Adrien said, confused.

"Did you miss the dog, or what?"

"Oh yeah, before you arrived, she was sure that you're gonna divorce me for adopting a dog," Marinette told her husband as she rolled her eyes.

"Emma, I'm never going to divorce your mother," Adrien said. Even though they've been together for fifteen years, Marinette still blushed when he said stuff like that. "I can't even be mad at your mom," he said. "For more than a day," he added. "Or a week."

"That's what I told her."

"But, she adopted a dog," Emma said again. "And you're a cat."

"I'm aware," Adrien chuckled.

"I-I don't understand," Emma said.

"As much as I dislike dogs," Adrien said, crouching down next to his daughter, "I love your mom more than anything that I dislike, and that is never, ever going to change."

Marinette felt like she was melting on the spot.

After a few seconds Emma shrugged. "Well, okay," she said and dragged the suitcases back to her room.

Suddenly, Hibiki (who was still in the room) went up to Adrien, and the man fell down and hurriedly moved back.

"Princess how do I get this thing to stop chasing me?!" Adrien asked, panicking. Marinette laughed. "Adrien, he just wants you to pet him."

"P-Pet him?!"

"Yes, pet him."

"O-Okay." Super slowly, Adrien reached out a hand, shutting his eyes. Emma, Hugo, Louis, Plagg and Tikki all came to the living room, shocked. The whole house was silent, everyone waiting to see this happen. So slowly that if he was going any slower he would've gone backwards, Adrien's hand reached the dog's fluffy head. Adrien squinted his eyes open. Marinette's eyebrows were so high that they were barely visible behind her hair.

Then Adrien ran to his and Marinette's bedroom and locked the door.

"Well, good show," Louis said as he and his older siblings went back into their rooms. Marinette laughed as she walked towards their bedroom to calm Adrien down.

"Kitty? C'mon, open up," Marinette said as she knocked on the door. She heard the lock moving before Adrien opened the door, quickly pulled her inside and shut it again. Then they both sat down on the bed.

"Kitty," Marinette touched his arm but he moved away. "Are you mad at me?"

"Yeah, kinda," Adrien said, hurt. "Of all animals, you adopted a dog. And without even talking to me about it first."

Marinette couldn't meet his eyes. The pain in his voice hurt her, and at that moment she decided that's it. This prank is over.

Besides, there'll be plenty of other pranks for her to do.

"Chaton," she said carefully. "We didn't adopt a dog."

Adrien's eyes met hers. "What do you mean?"

"I mean that Luka and Kagami asked me to dog sit today," Marinette said calmly.

"Then, why did you tell me that we adopted a dog?"

"Happy April Fools?" she said weakly.

Adrien just stared at her.

And then he started laughing like a maniac.

Marinette just watched as her husband held his stomach as he laughed. She smiled, and started laughing with him. Tikki and Plagg heard the laughter and flew into the room, wondering what the hell was going on. They looked at each other, shrugged, and joined their chosens.

Slowly, Emma, Hugo, and Louis opened the door to their parents' bedroom, curious. They looked at each other as they saw Marinette, Adrien, Plagg and Tikki just laughing. Not long after that they joined in too.

At some point, Hugo stopped laughing and spoke up. "Why are we laughing?"

Everyone stopped at once. "That's a good point," Emma said.

"Yeah, what's going on here?" Louis added.

"Your father just found out that we didn't really adopt Hibiki," Marinette told her kids, wiping tears from her eyes. "You should've seen his face."

"Wait, what?" Plagg and Tikki asked simultaneously.

"Oh yeah, we're not actually adopting a dog, apparently," Adrien told them. Plagg's face lit up.

"YESSSSSSSS!"

And... it's over! I know this is longer than my usual chapters. This was 5 pages on Google Docs!

I really hope someone got the reference that I snuck in there :D

On a serious note though, pranks are the best and I love them, but if you are pranking someone and it seems like their feelings are really getting hurt, or might get hurt, stop the prank. It's not worth it. The whole point of pranks is that they're supposed to be fun, but they're not fun it someone gets hurt, physically or emotionally. Plus, like Marinette realized, there are so much more pranks you could pull on them that are harmless!

Wow I really need to stop saying serious things in my stories.

Hope you liked it! If you want, write me a comment telling me the best prank you've ever pulled! If I like your prank, I might add it in a future chapter! I would tell you mine right now, but it's gonna come up later in the story ;-)

And lastly, and important message:

This is going to be the last story I'll write :(

I know, I'm sad too, but my mom figured out that I'm writing stories on a site on the internet and doesn't want me to do it anymore. She let me finish this multi-chapter fic, but after this one, I'm not allowed to write stories anymore.

:(

Just kidding. I would never stop writing stories for you guys!

(Disclaimer: my mother is fully aware that I'm writing stories to you guys and completely approves of it :)

Happy April Fools!
