Instrumental
[A black-caped Chirithy lays snoozing, curled up on a pillow next to a black hat.]
[Verse 1]
Wake up, say good morning to
[BC Chirithy startles awake and, still curled, looks rapidly around]
That sleepy person lying next to you
[BC Chirithy looking over an empty, rumpled bed; BC Chirithy looks a different direction]
If there's no one there, then there's no one there
[Lightly detailed silhouette of Brain sitting in a bay window, facing away from view; BC Chirithy is looking up at him]
But at least the war is over
[Close up of hot coffee cup in his hands; his hands are scarred, and his dark nail polish is chipped]
Instrumental
[A large box is being carried]
[The box is placed heavily down on a table, little dust poof]
It's us, yes, we're back again
[Skuld goes phew and rubs the back of her hand against her forehead; something catches her attention off screen]
Here to see you through 'til the day's end
[Ventus is approaching with two mugs]
And if the night comes, and the night will come
[Swirling cream in the cups turns into the night sky with twinkling stars]
Well at least the war is over
[Eyelids close over the sky and open to blue eyes]
[Pre-Chorus]
Lift your head and look out the window
[Skuld & Ventus turn to look out a window]
Stay that way for the rest of the day and watch the time go
[From the window view there are Keykids running around in the streets]
[Chorus]
Listen, the birds sing
[Keykids are feeding birds on the street]
Listen, the bells ring
[Keykids are playing games at water edges]
All the living are dead, and the dead are all living
[Player is swinging feet on a roof edge and watching the other Kids]
The war is over and we are beginning
[Player leans back and closes eyes]
Instrumental
[flashes gently between clean face and a dirtier, bloodied, tired face]
[Verse 2]
Gridlock on the parkway now
[Ephemer is walking in a crowd, gets hit in face by a paper in the wind]
The television man is here to show you how
[It's a pre-war advertisement for an entertainment group that aren't in the Dandelions]
The channel fades to snow, it's off to work you go
[Ephemer carefully folds the paper, is sad]
But at least the war is over
[Lauriam & Elrena walk by]
Instrumental
[A picture of Strelitzia comes into focus]
She's gone, she left before you woke
[Lauriam is lying in bed, looking at picture in locket]
As you ate last night, neither of you spoke
[Elrena & Lauriam, eating takeout]
Dishes, T.V., bed, the darkness filled with dread
[{Dishes} A trash can with the takeout boxes in it; {TV} Lauriam sitting with knees folded to chest on a couch with a radio and light on; {Bed} Lauriam is now on side; Lauriam is now gone and lights and radio are off]
But at least the war is over
[Lauriam is in bed, holding locket closely]
[Pre-Chorus]
Lift your head and look out the window
[view from inside: Elrena is sitting on a garden box window, legs swinging outside; now she is leaned against the right wall; the sky is dark and filled with stars]
Stay that way for the rest of the day and watch the time go
[view from outside: Elrena is laying down, head to the right; her right leg is on the box with her, left leg is swinging]
[Chorus]
Listen, the birds sing
[Elrena's eyes close]
Listen, the bells ring
[A girl's laughing, smiling mouth]
All the living are dead, and the dead are all living
[A blurry Strelitzia is standing in a field of white flowers]
The war is over and we are beginning
[The bright blue sky overhead like a dome]
Instrumental
[A white dandelion is blowing in the air and falls into a water flow]
[Verse 3]
We won, or we think we did
[A left hand picks the flower out; gentle flash to same hand in keyblade graveyard; gentle flash to a right, clean hand holding flower in same pose]
When you went away, you were just a kid
[Ventus blinks at the flower in his right hand, sits back]
And if you lost it all, and you lost it
[Ventus is sitting cross legged on the ground by a brook, making a flower wreath]
Well, we'll still be there when your war is over
[A faint Vanitas is laying on the ground behind him, arms behind his head and one leg in the air]
[Pre-Chorus]
Lift your head and look out the window
[Window from beginning, but Brain isn't there anymore]
Stay that way for the rest of the day and watch the time go
[Brain is walking down hallways in Clock Tower]
[Chorus]
Listen, the birds sing
[Brain passes Skuld & Ephemer in kitchen; they are drinking from mugs]
Listen, the bells ring
[Brain passes Ventus hanging up little flower wreaths; there is a faintly visible vanitas standing nearby and watching Brain]
All the living are dead, and the dead are all living
[Brain passes Lauriam & Elrena in street; they are walking different directions]
The war is over and we are beginning
[Brain stops in a field of flowers and greets a figure in a White Cloak]
[Outro]
Here it comes, here comes the first day
[Skuld & Ephemer are laughing over their drinks]
Here it comes, here comes the first day
[Lauriam & Elrena poke their heads in then walk in]
It starts up in our bedroom after the war
[Ventus follows after them]
It starts up in our bedroom after the war
[Brain walks in last]
After the war…
[They're all talking with each other]
After the war, after the war
[White Cloak and faint Vanitas are sitting by]
After the war…
After the war, after the war
After the war…
[Close out with credits]
