Sword and Courage
Chapter 1
The Visitor
It was a nice beautiful morning in the land of Hyrule. The sun was shining over the vast area. The village, the meadows and the waters all sparkled, and with majestic Hyrule Castle sitting above it all the place looked majestic. Especially to a traveler who was coming down the road. She was all garbed in a old cloak with a eye symbol on it. She looked off as she held her cane.
"At last, I made it. I just hope it will be easy to get into the castle", said the traveler. With that and as much strength she could lean into her walking stick the traveler started to walk up towards the land, showing some urgency despite her lack of strength.
Meanwhile at the same time up in the castle, in one of the towers it's resident hero, Link was trying some thrusting and chopping motions with his sword. In the center of his room was the Triforce of Wisdom, for Link was specifically chosen by Hyrule's crown princess, Zelda, to keep watch over it.
All seemed fine until a stone in the floor came off and three moblins came in. One pointed a crossbow into Links back.
"Don't move 'hero'" the moblin taunted.
"Oh I'm sorry", said Link. "I didn't realize this was a 'stick up'. "
Not taking this as a hint the other moblins went to grab the Triforce on it's pllar. But Link was smart enough to think on his feet. Using his sword he deflected the light off his blad and off a nearb mirror and right to his offender's eyes.
"AH I CAN'T SEE", he shouted backing up. Link powers up his sword in order to zap them.
"And you won't be seeing this place much longer. Your going back to Ganon", put in Link. He fired a beam of light from his sword and zapped the crossbow Moblin who vanished in a flash. He repeated this action for the other two moblins were stacking up to get the Triforce but Link zapped them.
"That took care of them", said Link and noticed the one left his crossbow. "Ah ha and a magic crossbow to boot." He placed it in his magic satchel. No sooner he puts it away there was a knock at the door.
"Link, I'm coming in", said the voice of Zelda. Link smirked because one of the reasons he liked staying in Hyrule was because he had a huge crush on the princess. . .if only he could get that kiss though.
The door opened to reveal the said beauty that is Hyrule's crown princess and who stole Link's heart. She took a look around the room and scoffed a bit. "Sheesh what happened it was like a hurricane hit here."
"Well excuse me Princess", remarked Link, "I wasn't exactly prepared for a Moblin attack before you came in."
Zelda groaned, "Again!? Ugh doesn't Ganon ever quit!?" She huffed and paced in anger. "I am fed up. I don't know about you, I know it's been a while but I almost feel like we have been at ends with Ganon forever. I mean even before we had the Triforce."
Link pondered this and added, "You know I sometimes feel the same way. In fact when you found me and asked me the guard the Triforce, I really felt obligated to do it, and it wasn't because you caught my eye."
Zelda calmed down and smirked, "Is that so. Well that is the nicest thing I heard you say."
"Kiss", asked Link innocently.
"Sorry not today", said Zelda putting a finger to Links own lips. "Anyway tidy up and keep an eye on the Triforce, I will be up to see how things are later."
"Aww seriously Princess… . ", said Link. While he did his job well he didn't want to be with the Triforce the ENTIRE day.
As she turned to leave, Zelda said, "Take care hero." She gave a sly wink and left.
Link groaned a bit, it could be heard by the old visitor that approached the said castle.
"Well this was easy now for the hard part", remarked the visitor, "Trying to convince the two to listen to me." With that she slowly approaches the gaurds and said, "I need to speak to the king at once, Tell him it's important I speak to him as well as his daughter and their hero."
It didn't take long for the visitor to be brought to the audience of King Harkinan. Then again the king was of a jolly nature so it was almost easy for anyone to get to speak to him. But that was probably why the people of Hyrule loved him.
"Now this is a surprise", said the King, "Why we don't see many foreign travelers in the castle every day, wot."
"I am not exactly a foreigner, though I have traveled a long way your highness, the clan I belong to originally came here from Hyrule long before we left and started to. . . . diminish", said the visitor.
"Very intriguing and what business is it you need here that prompted your return", asked the king as he stroked his beard in interest.
"I saw the stars and read the omens and it told me it was high time I spoke to. . ."
"Daddy", came the voice of Zelda interrupting the visitor. "Daddy did you say we have a guest that needed to see me."
The vistor nearly dropped her staff. "By Faore, Din and Nayru, tis you. The great vessel herself! Oh tis an honor to meet you Princess Zelda at long last."
"You. . . know me", asked Zelda almost a bit taken aback.
"Oh yes your legend has been passed down by my people for centuries and eons", said the visitor gesturing how a big deal this was raising her arms.
"Legend but. . I can't be a legend, that only happens when something is in the past", said Zelda trying to get some sense in this.
The vistor pointed and said, "On contrair my dear child there is more to your battle with Ganon then you realize. Even if you do manage to get the Triforce of Power from him the battle would not end for you would be incomplete. Yes, I am aware you still have the Triforce of Wisdom and you sought the legendary hero to protect it."
"Whoo legendary, I didn't know Link was that famous", said Harkinian.
Zelda looked in frustration and shock, "He isn't! At least I don't think he is. I. . don't understand."
"It is normal you don't understand but to understand I must tell you the legend of the Triforce itself and the true battles with the one you know as Ganon in order to finally put an end to his reign."
Zelda looked in delight knowing this could end Ganon, "Well tell me!"
"I need the hero present he should hear what I have to say", said the visitor her old face very stern. The red eyes she had did not help in making the look any softer.
Link had managed to finish tidying up his room thanks to a little help from Spryte, the fairy that acts as one of the castles servants.
"Thanks Spryte", said Link. "Without your help I would never have gotten this done."
"Oh I didn't mind at all", said Spryte slyly, for she had crush on Link.
"Now if only I can get some help on getting Zelda's attention", added Link.
"Hmp", replied Spryte, "Zelda is a snob. You probably should forget about her. There are better girls for you."
"That's just it, I don't think there are", said Link. Before Spryte could protest any further there was a knock at the door.
"Link", came Zelda's voice.
"Oh yes Princess",s aid Link happily that just talking about her just brought her there.
"Link listen I need you to come to the audience hall, there is a visitor here that needs to speak to you and me for some reason", said Zelda
"What's important about this visitor", asked Link.
"She says she knows something about the Triforce and more importantly how to get rid of Ganon", said Zelda.
Link was about to protest when Zelda, almost sensing such a protest added, "She also says you are some legendary hero."
Almost stroking the said hero's ego, he smiled and said, "Tell her I will be right down!"
