Chloe and Nikki were in Albie's for a catch up, Nikki started drinking before Chloe because, Chloe was in tied up in surgery when Nikki's shift finished so by the time Chloe got there, she had already 3 pints of lager drank so she was a bit tipsy. After a while they started talking about Cameron because Nikki had just broken up with him and was mad at him, so she was talking at Chloe who was sitting there not really listening to her until Nikki said something that caught her by surprise, what Nikki said was "you know he called me while he was in theatre when that guy with a gun was on Darwin and got me to talk through a whole procedure after I was down on AAU I overheard him talking to Ange and he was saying that he did it without help" when Chloe heard that she was reminded of something her mother had told her the week prior to this so that raised Chloe's suspicions about what Cameron was up to more
*a month later*
While Chloe was on Darwin with a patient, she sees Cameron walking around so she walked over to him,
Chloe: what are you doing here?
Cameron: Chloe it's a free hospital I can be here also I have a patient up here.
Chloe: okay
After a while, Chloe is in the staff room when Cameron walks in and he looks angry.
Chloe: right, what the hell is up with you.
Cameron: you already know you a sly bitch.
Chloe: okay what the hell did I do
Cameron: oh, don't play dumb you know exactly what you did.
Chloe: Cameron if knew what I did I wouldn't be asking would I?
Cameron: *gets angry and pushes Chloe against the wall*
Chloe: * trying to push him back off her"
Cameron: if you ever tell your mother anything about me again, you'll be sorry * he punches her in the stomach then let's her go and walks out of the room*
Chloe just dusted herself off because she wasn't scared of Cameron and plus there was CCTV cameras in the staff room, so on her lunch break she went to AAU because she was supposed to meet her mother there but instead, she saw her mother shouting at Cameron in her office, and she saw Dom and went over to him,
Dom: *sees Chloe* hey you.
Chloe: hey what's going on in there *points to Ange's office*
Dom: I'm not sure Cameron did something in theatre again.
Chloe: *starts wincing in pain*
Dom: * notices* Chloe are you alright?
Chloe: yeah
Chloe nearly collapsed but Dom catches Her and brings her to a side room where Ange can't see her because Dom feels like something is up and he feels like Chloe doesn't want Ange to find out,
Dom: Chloe can I examine you ?
Chloe: *nods while she's in pain*
While Dom is examining Chloe, he notices bruising all over her stomach.
Dom: Chloe what happened.
Chloe: nothing why
Dom: these bruises look purposely there.
Chloe * pulled down her top* nothing happened * walks away but then walks back into room again* you don't tell mum any of this.
Dom: *agreed because he didn't want an argument*
After this Dom knew he had to tell Ange because Chloe didn't look to great so when he saw Cameron wasn't in the office anymore, he walked into her office,
Dom: hey could I talk to you.
Ange: sure, sweetheart what's up?
Dom: its Chloe I'm worried,
Ange: (instantly looks up from what she was doing) what do you mean?
Dom: I was talking to her while you were shouting at Cameron in here, but while I was talking to her she started wincing in pain and then she nearly collapsed so I brought her into a side room because she didn't want you to know but anyway while I was examining her I noticed her stomach was covered in bruises when I asked her what happened she kept looking at the door then after she just replied "nothing" and when I questioned it she just pulled down her top and ran out
Ange: wha *when Ange went to speak; she was interrupted by Max McGerry storming in *
Max: ah you're both here you are both needed on Darwin its Chloe she collapsed she has an internal bleed, so she is currently being prepped for surgery
After Ange heard that she ran straight out of the office and straight to the lift, when Dominic heard this he also ran out but he didn't run to the lift like his mother he ran to stairs and headed straight to the roof where he sat for hours thinking everyone will blame him for not following Chloe after he saw her stomach heck he even blamed himself for not following her, when he finally came down from the roof he went to AAU and cleaned out his locker because he decided he can't be in the hospital anymore he also quickly wrote two notes and his letter of resignation, one note was for Chloe to explain how sorry he was for not realizing what was going on, he wrote the second one to apologize to Ange for being a disappointment of a son and that her life was better before they found each other, after he wrote them he put his things in his backpack so he wouldn't be walking out holding a box drawing any attention to himself, so he walked up to Darwin to see Chloe was asleep, he decided not to go in in case he woke her so he just left it with one of the nurses, then he headed to Ange's office and left the note for Ange and his letter of resignation on her desk, while he was walking out with his backpack on and his earphones in, he saw Ange and fletch in pulses, he wasn't in the mood for talking to them but he caught Ange's because she saw he had been crying, she decided to call out for him but he didn't answer so she got up and ran over to him, she grabbed his hand, when Dom turned around he could see the look of despair in his mother's eyes but he couldn't be there anymore so he pulled Ange in for one last hug and whispered "I'm sorry" in her ear after that he walked out.
*Four days later*
Whilst Ange was on AAU it was her first day back after being off helping with Chloe, she was told that Dominic had been nowhere to be seen since Chloe collapsed so she decided to head to her office to ring him, she noticed two envelopes on her desk as she walked up to open them she noticed they were both in her sons handwriting, the son she had when she was 14 and gave up for adoption when he was 6 months old because she could never have been a mother especially not at 14, she opened his letter of resignation first after she read that she was confused at why was he leaving and why hadn't he spoken to her about it, after she quickly opened the second letter which started with "Dear Mum, I hate that I have to write this but I know it has to be done because I'm not the son you imagined the baby you gave up 32 years ago would be I can see the disappointment in your eyes every time we speak" when Ange read that she instantly grabbed her keys and bag, then ran to her car where she kept trying to ring Dom but it kept going to voicemail, she drove to his flat, saw there was a light on so she ran up to the door and knocked on his front door until he finally answered, when he opened the door Ange gave out a breath of relief that he was okay and still in Holby, Dominic invited his mother into his flat because it was a cold December morning, When Ange walked in she saw there was moving boxes everywhere
Ange: Dominic can we please talk about this.
Dom: what's there to talk about
Ange: Dominic please we both know we must talk about this * holding up the letter*
Dom: * looks away* everything I said on that letter is true.
Ange: hey look at me *takes his hand * no it's not true Dominic you are even better than what I imagined my son to be.
Dom: but I can see the disappointment in your eyes every time you look at me but all I can see when you look at Chloe is love and I know you're going to say you don't, but you really do because I've seen it in everyone's eyes when they look at me.
Ange: Dominic I love you so much you are not a disappointment in my eyes I'm telling you now, I am proud of you every single day and okay I might show more attention to Chloe but that's only because she struggles.
Dom: and you don't think I struggle no * on the verge of tears* mum do you want to know why Isaac was in the hospital that time with his father.
Ange: * looks confused at why he would be mentioning Isaac now a year and half later*
Dom: * pulls his hand away and stands up" well mum that day you basically told me that I didn't need you and you weren't my "new mum" was also the day I found out lofty had cheated on me when he was in Las Vegas and because of you telling me that " I didn't need you" I turned to an online dating app and can you guess who was on there, Isaac was on there, he was the only person that I didn't see the look of disappointment in his eyes every time he looked at me
Ange: *horrified at what her son has just said* Dominic I'm so sorry.
Dom: I'm moving to America to go live with Zosia because I need to get away from here from you and Chloe because I know deep down what she really sees whenever she sees me and it's not her big brother it's "a baby her mother gave away because he was that much of a disappointment to her she couldn't keep him" and I can't say I disagree with her because you know deep deep down you know it's true too
