This is just the prologue so it's very short and doesn't have a consistent POV, this will change in the second chapter.
I don't own RWBY or JOJO.
Prologue: Reborn
Yang always knew her sister was tough, hell tougher than the regular huntsman. She always held a defiant stare in the face of danger, it was something admiring yet completely baffling. Yang often felt like there were two adults in the house, her dad and cute sister, Ruby.
The current situation should be shocking but Yang couldn't be compelled to feel shocked at her little sister anymore. Her fifteen-year-old sister that has shown no interest in becoming a huntress was going to be attending Beacon while having no combat experience.
well... there was the kind ghost thing, but Yang was having trouble discerning if that was reality or not, but nonetheless, she digresses.
No matter the amount of huntsman or hero stories told to her by Yang's now-deceased mother, she never seemed interested, to the great relief of their dad, no, she instead was focused on marine-biology, Yang wasn't dumb, maybe a bit loud and brash but not dumb, but everything about it went over her head.
Yang remembers when some kids were picking on her for her complex hobby, she would of went over there and showed them a piece of her mind, damn the consequences, if not for Ruby... breaking their balls, literally. She winces at the thought, her little sister could be... exessive? at times. Not that they didn't deserve it.
It was bad enough with that weird uniform she wore, a pure black trenchcoat with a hat that practically melted in with her hair, a gold chain hanging off her collar. It is very... delinquent looking, despite Ruby being short and 'cute' she pulled it off.
Then there was the 'kind ghost', as young as Yang can remember situations that should have left her with scraped knees or purple bruises never happened with Ruby around, almost like an invisible force was saving her. When she told their mum and dad about this they at best doubted her.
Her father's mind was changed on the worst day of her life, Yang has a... tiny, just a tiny bit of a complex about her real mother leaving her, Raven.
So being a child she decided the best course of action was to go look for 'mummy', bringing Ruby who could barely walk at the time with her, despite the cold glare. Even as a kid she always had a look, a look that seemed it was staring into your very soul.
The situation took a turn for the worst while 'searching for her mother'. Grimm attacked leaving both her and Ruby defenceless, well that is what she thought.
Before Yang's very eyes Ruby was intensely staring at the Grimm as it was rag-dolled around like thousands of meteorites were crashing on it.
Right after that Ruby said her first word, "Yare, Yare Daze" roughly translated from Mistral as 'good grief'. Where would she even learn that word? Yang sure as hell didn't teach her it.
Qrow her uncle quickly showed up after, drunk and smelling like puke and liquor, he then had some words with Ruby about her semblance. Yang at the time had no idea what it all meant.
This situation had to be the most ridiculous one, Glynda Goodwitch has ever been in. Some barley teen girl with a lack of respect had come waltzing up and put Roman Torchwick. The ex hunter turned criminal, in the hospital, she didn't even have a scratch. He was in the intensive care section from her beating.
She caused a lot of property damage along the way. Glynda was ordered to detain the girl before the authorities tried anything, she would have liked to give this reckless little girl playing hero her mind but, but the kind of person she found was... unexpected.
The little girl gave off a cold glare that made Glynda's one look like a kitten, her cold silver eyes looking at her with disinterest and annoyance. Not even the least bit shocked as Glynda took her to the leader of Beacon otherwise known as Ozpin.
It was thereafter neither the girl nor Ozpin let off a chance as to what they were thinking, Ozpin asking questions, where did she learn to fight? and the like. The small girl reiterated him to very rudely "piss off".
Glynda had her riding crop ready to whack the bad-mannered girl but Ozpin put a hand up to stop her.
Ozpin to Glynda's dismay offered the now known Ruby. The chance to go to Beacon after an awkward quiet session, due to the offering of cookies and Ruby calling him a senile old man, saying she was fifteen, not ten. Glynda really wants to put this rude little brat down a peg.
Glynda was beyond annoyed as the little girl listed off demands so that she would attend, it should be a privilege so why is he acting so arrogant?. One of her outrages requirements was that it is just to be a mere hobby, as she was already interested in marine biology and the second was she could ditch class whenever she wanted. The last one had Glynda seething at the mouth in anger.
As thoughts like 'A huntress is not supposed to be taken as a mere hobby, you have to take it seriously or be killed' went through Glynda's head, Ozpin already had his hand out to accept with a handshake.
This led to Glynda being even angrier.
Ozpin then on an off-handed comment made a remark about Ruby's silver eyes, it may have been small almost microscopic but Opzin's expression seemed intrigued, Ruby, caught it with otherworldly precision and filed it away. She would be looking into her silver eyes later.
"I'm super happy, I can't wait for you to join me at Beacon sis!" Yang shouts boisterously.
Ruby gives a little smile in response, tilting her cap down to hide her eyes.
Yang loved seeing Ruby's usual cold demeanour melt-away.
"Don't get too excited" Her smile disappears instantly, "This is just a hobby, nothing more or less".
