Hello, everybody who likes How to Train Your Dragon! Welcome to The Prism of All Dragons, a story that dives into the darker, more serious levels of the franchise. I've wanted to write a How to Train Your Dragon fanfic for so long, but I never had a good idea about how I wanted to approach it. Then, I discovered Franz Schubert's "Erlkönig," and boom! Inspiration hit me like a mountain falling on me. "Erlkönig" (or "Elf King" in English) is an amazing song. The legend is pretty straight-forward. The Elf King seduces you (not sexually, so don't worry), and if he touches you, you're dead. That's it. After listening to it, I thought to myself, Heck yeah! I should make a dragon version of the Elf King! And what better way to do that than to have How to Train Your Dragon as my guinea pig?
As I mentioned before, this story takes you on a more frightening journey with Hiccup and his friends. It's psychological, so it's meant to mess with your head a little bit. If you find it hurting, then great! It means I'm doing my job. I've never written a psychological story before, so I'm curious to see if I can pull it off or not. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy this story just as much as I enjoyed writing it. This is not a first draft, but rather a new one.
With that said, let's jump through the portal and dive into the world of How to Train Your Dragon and the Erlkönig.
