For those of you who don't know, my main story is 116 chapters long. It is also recommended to read chapters 102-116 to get the full story. But for those that need a recap:
Hacker Newton is transported to Peter's world thanks to Discord. After hacking into the writer's phone, he brings his allies to assist Peter and his friends in taking down Discord. Now, they have a bigger enemy to fight. Newton's old school.
The first two chapters will be set before chapter 102 to get a better view that Hacker Newton isn't the same as the Newton who leads the Wenja tribe. Also, I will be using the old names for the members of Newton's hacking group Dedsec before changing to the new names in chapter 3.
And by the way, the reason why I put this under as a "Watch Dogs" story is because elements of the video game are adapted here.
Oh, and by the way, this new series will connect to my main series even more. The Forever Purge only gave a nod to my main story, you'll see why this story is more connected than my previous one.
NEWTON
"Come on! Beat his butt!"
Newton was playing video games with his uncle Aiden.
"Woohoo! I got him!" Newton cheered.
"You sure kicked his butt." Aiden chuckled.
"So when are we going to get back into class?"
Newton was taught the tools of the trade of hacking from Aiden. Aiden was a security researcher and father figure of Newton.
"I got access to the lights in the apartment, what should I do?" Newton asked.
"Hit it."
Newton shut down all of the power for the apartment except for his own.
"Oh, it's time for school. I wish I didn't have to go." Newton said, checking the clock.
"Come on, school can't be that bad." Aiden said.
Newton found himself constantly bullied by the students. Rumors in a world inhabited with ponies and other creatures that an escaped pony who appeared almost identical to Newton escaped custody is now on the run. This naturally led the students to believe that Newton was the pony who escaped. Newton was shoved, beaten, and thrown into walls on his way to class.
"Friendship killer!"
"Leech!"
"We know what you did!"
Newton sat down on his desk.
"Newton, come to the principal's office immediately." His teacher said.
Not even his teacher was shy of mistreating him. As he walked into Principal Solas's office, Newton noticed Solas looking angrier than usual.
"Due to the recent events in the conquest of Equestria by the Storm King and his army, we have decided to expel you from school."
"What? But I didn't do anything!"
"We are doing this for the safety that is friendship." Vice Principal Lunis added.
"Pack up your things and get out." Solas said.
Newton solemnly walked out and grabbed his backpack.
"Hey everyone! Newton has just been expelled! You know what to do, kids!" Solas announced over on the intercom.
The students and teachers went out of their classrooms as they jeered at Newton. Rotten food was thrown at him as he made his way out. The more angrier he got, the more steps he took towards the exit, the more he wished revenge on those who bullied him.
"One day..." He vowed. "They will pay."
LEON
"Oh no, not again!"
Leon's parents noticed their son breaking apart an old laptop that Leon's father was going to sell.
"Leon, you know you can't do this..." Leon's father said.
"Dad, I want to be a computer expert when I grow up."
"But you don't know how to fix computers. You only know how to break them apart. But maybe there is someone who can teach you."
"Really?"
"Yep, and he's super cheap!"
Leon's father took Leon to the former's friend, who was a computer repairman. He agreed, and taught Leon's the tools of repairing a computer.
ANGEL
Staring at her mother's grave, Angel reflected on what caused her death.
ONE MONTH AGO...
"Beat me, you little snitch!" Her mother yelled.
"Oh really? I like to see you fight, you scrawny tadpole!" Her father added.
Angel expected this. Both of her parents were under the influence of drugs. As they fought each other like they usually do, Angel only turned to school as means of escape.
"I wish to see you dead!" Her father said.
As Angel walked to school, she thought of the times things were happy. Her mother was always in and out of the hospital due to her drug use. Nothing could stop her from getting her hands on that alcohol. She recalled times where her mother held her down against a wall, expecting her daughter to fight back. Angel once pushed her mother back since she was not having it, but since her mother was a small woman, the latter fell into a large box she can't get out of. Her father had to pull her out. She thought about the time where she would not have frozen dinners since they belonged to her mother's. And if she would try and microwave them herself, she would be called words such as "fat" and "obese". Sure, she was a bit chubby, but she didn't want to be called that. But still, she loved her parents despite the setbacks. She knew people suffered worse. Such as Newton. Watching him get beaten up by the students was just like watching herself get beaten by her mother.
"Hey!" She called out. "Leave him alone!"
"Why?" A student taunted. "Because your his mother?"
"How would you like it if he beat up you?" Angel added.
"Oh please. He ruined friendship!"
"She must be working for XCOM!"
Without hesitation, the students beat up Angel.
Angel pressed an ice pack against her shoulder at the grocery store after school. It didn't hurt so bad since she was used to getting beaten all the time by her mother. It didn't do the same for Newton though. While she didn't see him after standing up to him, she could still hear the students beating him up in the hallway.
"I should head home now."
As Angel walked home, she saw her mother on the floor. She expected this. Her father called 911 and her mother was taken to the hospital. But this was the last time she ever saw her.
"She, what?" Her father gasped.
"Due to the damage of her addiction, there is no hope to save her." The doctor said. "Her liver, kidneys, and pancreas are no more. We have to take her off life support."
Her mother laid in bed, bloated, a grotesque monster. It was no longer her mother. Reluctantly, Angel pulled the plug.
PRESENT DAY...
Angel had a single tear run down her cheek. She never got to say goodbye fully. But she still learned to move on. She turned to meet her father, who agreed with her to make up for past events.
CONNOR
Connor has Asperger's Syndrome. It made him harder to get a job. As he reflected on how his condition is preventing him from finding a job, he was redirected to a company known as Autism Speaks. However, Autism Speaks do not help autistic people, they condemn it. Their motto of autism that must be cured was criticized by Connor and several other high-functioning autistics. To prevent any word of Autism Speaks and what they were doing, Connor and other autistics were threatened into silence.
He was good with computers though. He didn't hesitate in writing blogs debunking Autism Speaks. He was met with a knock on the door of his house.
"Hello?"
"Do you know about ASAN?"
"Huh?"
"ASAN stands for Autism Self Advocacy Network. We know about your rants against Autism Speaks and ask you to be our spokesperson. We'll pay you generously."
Connor wanted inside info.
"Welcome to ASAN." An employee greeted as Connor walked in their headquarters.
The company's motto was to promote that autistic people have rights. It does make it harder for autistic people to do things normal people can do, but a greater percentage are higher-functioning.
"So are they generally smarter?" Connor asked.
"Not really. While some are, most have trouble in school and just need help. Autism Speaks doesn't support that. We strive to make sure people with autism have their rights."
It didn't take long for Connor to realize that ASAN was nothing like Autism Speaks. He agreed to the job.
DEDSEC
"This... is where the magic happens." Aiden said.
Underneath Aiden's video game store was a basement that Newton could hang out. Newton set up his laptop and PC there.
"I hope you enjoy." Aiden said.
Newton waited until Aiden went back to selling video games. He went out the back door. GamerCon was a few blocks away, and he was sure going there-
"Hey, move over!"
THUNK!
Newton was knocked onto the ground by Angel, The latter helped him up.
"S-Sorry! I was in a hurry!" She said.
Newton blushed at first sight, but he shook it off and went on his way. At the entrance to GamerCon, he came across Connor who was handing out flyers promoting ASAN.
"What's this?" He asked.
"We're advocating rights towards autistic people." Connor said. "Would you donate to us?"
"Maybe some other time." Newton said.
Newton paid for his tickets as he walked inside the convention.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to GamerCon!"
The crowd burst into cheers.
"Please welcome our showcaser, Bryan Heynolds!"
Bryan walked on stage as he gave his announcement.
"It is so nice to see you here. As we gather here today we-"
The room suddenly went dark. As the audience broke out into cries of fear, a person wearing a hacker mask appeared on the front screen in a distorted voice.
"All attendees of GamerCon, please give your full attention to us. We have detected XCOM spies within your own presence. We are 404. We have set bombs to eliminate any and all of you. We are keeping the value that is friendship."
A timer showcasing how much time is left before the bomb blows up appeared on screen. There were 12 minutes before detonation.
"There's a bomb here!"
"There's no way out!"
"I can't call the cops! No signal!"
"We're gonna die!"
"AAHHHHH!"
"Step aside!" A voice said.
"They must be after me..." Newton realized.
Everyone sat down and prepared for the worse. As Newton went to find a safe place to hide, he saw Leon, Connor, and Angel with the bomb.
"I can't get past the electronic lock blocking access!" Leon said.
"I can do it." Newton said.
Newton took out his laptop and hacked the lock to open. Leon noticed this.
"Thanks."
"Now, I'm not a bomb expert. What makes you trying to defuse one?"
"Angel's helping me." Leon said. "Her cousin's dad is part of the police force."
"Hello." Angel greeted.
"And Connor just wants to look."
"Hey." Connor greeted.
"Okay, the detonators should be placed over here. Slide each of them out carefully."
Leon removed the detonators of the bomb.
"Now onto the triggers. Cut the red wires."
"Got it."
The timer stopped. This allowed everyone to get some relief.
"I think we defused the bomb." Newton said.
"Thanks to all of us." Leon said.
"But I didn't do anything." Connor said.
"You helped. If you weren't there, I wouldn't have the courage to defuse the bomb."
The power went back on. As so were the doors. Everyone made it out in time. As the cops went in to deal with the bomb, they found out that it was already stopped.
"I'm-I'm speechless. What you guys did was incredible." Bryan said.
Bryan left to check on the other attendees.
"Want to go hang out at my place?" Newton asked.
"You have a place where we can hang out?" Connor said.
"Yeah, at my uncle's video game store."
"Hey, we never got your name." Leon said.
"Newton."
"I know you." Angel said. "You were that kid who was beaten up all the time. I stood up to you."
"Um, thanks?"
CONNECTION LOST.
You've reached the end of this chapter.
