A/N: this is my comeback as a writer after inactive for quite a long time. Just write something that came up in my mind (and I'm sorry if there's any plot far from the canon because I'm still catching up the whole show). Pardon for any mistakes in my writing because English isn't my first language, hope you enjoy!
MEMORI TENTANG KITA
Morning sunlight shone across the window on a small cabin belongs to the 5 months old couple, Patrick Jane and his wife, Teresa Lisbon-Jane. Birds chirping happily outside, enough to wake Patrick up. His face turned into his typical smile after he opened his eyes to see sleeping Teresa inside his embrace. He kissed her temple softly before moving his hands to her growing bump. It feels great, he never felt this way for years since Angela and Charlotte's death. But that's all his past, there's nothing to be compared to. He's extremely happy to live a life with Teresa right now and in the future, along with their child (and probably more to come).
Familiar smell of the wooden cabin jumped up his taste buds to make a cup of his favorite tea. Slipping from the warm embrace softly, not wanting to wake her up from her peaceful sleep, he walked towards the kitchen. After heating the kettle full of water, he made two sandwiches. One for him and another one for his wife. The caring husband he is, always make sure to have all her needs fulfilled, even when she's complaining, but she loves it anyway.
He took his breakfast to the porch, enjoying the pond view while sitting on his—now their—favorite couch. It was very relaxing, so Patrick Jane. He took a sip of his tea in his favorite cup; the once broken glass, but Teresa glued it and made it as a whole cup again, then she gave it to him as his birthday gift. Plus, might be the greatest birthday gift he ever received.
Teresa Lisbon, the life before all of this flashed through his eyes. He met her under an unexpected situation. He was definitely a mess. Rugged beard, hopeless eyes, he wasn't even complaining when she said he had a homeless person vibe. He chuckled every time he recalled that memory.
During their time as colleagues in CBI, she often got irritated by his actions. The paper frog, yeah, she was extremely upset with him, but he quietly gave her a paper frog as an apologize.
"A frog? Well this makes everything better, doesn't it?" She was clearly unhappy by his action, but he didn't say a word. Then, the frog jumped on her direction, startle her. And she ended up smiling.
He tried to remember any moments with her while sipping his tea. Ah, when he found a baby trapped inside a car during a case. She was extremely cute, to Patrick's honesty, and Teresa was good around kids too. He gave Teresa a chance to held her for a while, and to his surprise, she was good around kids. Now, he never thought somebody other than his wife, she'll be a great mother for their kids, he's one hundred percent sure.
His mind traveled around his memory palace, discovering any of their memorable moments (but every quality time with her considered as memorable moment, and most of the time he stick to her almost 24/7).
There was a time when Teresa got jealous of him, once when he kissed Lorelei Martins for his own game.
"What are you huh? Crazy?" Teresa approached him with anger, she glared upon him.
"Excuse me?" asked Patrick, not knowing what she was referring to.
"I told you to be careful. I TOLD you to not go over the edge."
"And I told you not to listen." Patrick defended.
"DONT BE CHILDISH. I'm not your girlfriend, I'm an officer of the law, how could I not listen?" She breathed heavily, "you kissed her."
But to be honest, what's on his mind was Teresa Lisbon. Just her. He was thinking that maybe Lorelei was right, he might be in love with Teresa.
Then, there were times where he got jealous of Pike. He couldn't resist his jealousy. Not to mention, he felt weak. She was clearly in love with that Marcus guy, and Patrick thought that he might lose all the chances, before he decided to jump up the airport gate. He didn't care much about his sprained ankle, he just wants Teresa to come back to his embrace.
"You're right, I have forgotten how to act like a normal human being, and I play games, and I lie. And I trick people to avoid the truth of how I feel. And the Idea of letting anyone close to me is terrifying for obvious reasons. But the truth Teresa is I can't imagine waking up knowing that I won't see you (tearing up) The truth is: I love you." He inhaled heavily, "Woo, you can't imagine how good that feels to say out loud. But it scares me and it is the truth; it is the truth what I feel."
And he kissed her, for the first time. In an interrogation room. Somehow it feels great, the world just stopped a while. She's now his, and he's willing to give her the world.
Then, it was the time of the proposal. Patrick had been prepared for their future. A little cabin for them to live together, his old ring, everything. He'd been hiding from Teresa for a week, only to surprise her. She's a bit upset when he said he need some time without her, but it's all worth it in the end. The proposal, the wedding, and a little surprise for Patrick.
"I have something to tell you." Teresa said. Her hands held protectively against her still flat belly, his eyes landed on where she laid her hands.
"No, you're- you're kidding me."
"I am not."
And it feels great, they had their present and the future together. Along with the time, they just can't resist. He's so in love with her, vice versa.
"Honey?" Teresa's raspy voice came from the front door, one hand placed under her baby bump.
"Good morning, sweetheart." He walked to her direction, giving her a kiss full of desire. She broke the kiss after a while, "not now, hon."
He chuckled, "there's your sandwich in the kitchen, let's have our breakfast together."
They both sat together on the couch, eating peacefully together. His one hand holding the sandwich, while the other laid protectively on her belly, a habit he had ever since the first time she announced that she was pregnant with their child. Her smile grew, she's happy that she could feel his warmth against her. Patrick's eyes went from the pond view to Teresa's face, admiring the pregnancy glow she had.
"You're in charge for illegally looking at me, mister." She teased her lost husband, until he came back to his sense. He grinned, "you're still as gorgeous as the first time we met, but now you're more beautiful."
Teresa blushed, "oh, hush. I feel like a whale after gaining so much weight."
"No? I swear that you're stunning as ever, and that pregnancy glow works with you as well." He grinned, he leaned forward to give her a soft kiss, "I love you so much, Teresa Lisbon-Jane."
"And I love you, Patrick Jane."
They both laughed between the peaceful atmosphere, leaned on once more for a deep kiss, before they pulled out because they feel something inside her belly.
"Oh my god, the baby's kicked for the first time!" She exclaimed, looking at Patrick's eyes happily.
"Well, she's gonna be a warrior like her mom, not gonna lie." He laughed excitedly.
"Are you gonna pull that gender argument again? He'll be my best boy."
"Ah, no, I'll be your best boy forever."
But, whatever the baby's gender will be, they'll gonna give their child (or children) the whole world and make sure they're the happiest babies ever. And Patrick Jane feel so grateful to have Teresa Lisbon-Jane forever, and he's ready to have his whole journey with her.
