A SONADOW P.O.V SPECIAL.
Part one.
Shadows P.O.V…
I don't know when it started happening, or even why. All I know is it just did. His stupid smile would lighten up a room when he walked in. the way his Azure fur shone in the sunlight and sparkled. His annoying laugh when he made a dumb joke or tried to make our friends smile. His beautiful emerald green eyes sparkled like a rare star in the night. It was all these things and more that drew me to him.
I remember it like it was yesterday, even though it's been a few years now. It was October, a time when autumn starts to settle in, the weather gets colder, and life starts to get ready to sleep for the winter. But more than ever it rains. It rains as it does during the springtime. No one knows why but it does. I guess it is because even during this time of year everything needs it. Though if you were to ask me personally. I think it's because even the sky needs to cry sometimes. Right?
My name is Shadow. Shadow The Hedgehog. There was a time I would never have thought such things at all. But ever since I met the Azure Hedgehog one day my life changed.
It all started ten months ago. It was a bitterly cold January and I was in a battle with Eggman. He had a new plan set in motion to try and take over Mobius and make his Eggman Empire yet again. But I wasn't going to let him even try.
I was in pretty bad shape. I was on my own, sent out by G.U.N. Rouge, and Omega was doing another mission so I was on my own this time. Eggman's newest Robot, The Egg Iceman, was proven to be a force to be reckoned with. As long as there was snow and ice it had an unlimited source of ammo. I had already taken a great deal of damage from his robot. Eggman was in his Egg Hovercraft watching as I fought the blasted thing.
Just give up Shadow. You have no chance at winning this time. As long as there is snow and ice all around us my Robot will have an unlimited ammo source to use and heal itself with. There is no winning this time, and without none of your little friends here to help you. Well... HE HE HE HE….
Narrowing my eyes I watch his robot closely. It shoots off a round of icicles at me and I jump up and out of the way sending a wave of Chaos Spears his way. They hit the oncoming icicles and they blow up. I don't let up and I send a Chaos Blast his way. It hits its mark and damages the robot but it ends up healing faster than I could throw a punch at it.
Just give up Shadow.
NEVER EGGMAN!
You're better off giving up why you can Shadow. You don't have much left in you. I say a few more good hits and you'll be done for Oh oh oh ohhhh!
Don't bet on it Eggman. I still got a few tricks up my sleeve!
Eh, I like to see you try hedgehog.
Jumping into the air I send a wave of Chaos Spears at Eggman, but his robot blocks them and backhands me sending me flying into a tree. I got the wind knocked out of me as I tasted blood in my mouth. I go and I spit it out on the snow, turning it crimson. I must have bitten my tongue when he hit me. Panting, I stay where I am kneeling as I rest my left arm on my left knee.
He was right though. I didn't have much left in me. I was beaten to the point I had deep cuts on me, along with a bruise. I think I even had a couple of busted ribs or bruised ribs. I couldn't tell. All I knew was it hurt to breathe right now and the cold didn't help. I had to finish now I had no other choice. I would have to use my Chaos Inferno to finish this followed by a Chaos Blast. It would be risky because it would fully drain me.
OK, Eggman, you want me to try, then so be it. Because I'm going to finish you here and now!
Pushing off from where I was I activated my air shoes and head right for the robot. It takes a swing at me and I teleport away and behind it sending a roundhouse kick at him, taking it off guard, and sending it flying. Eggman growls out and pounds his fist on the counsel of his hovercraft.
GET HIM NOW!
The Egg Iceman gets up and sends a barrage of ice balls at me. I jump off them avoiding them as best as I could. One of them hits me hard in the chest and sends me flying backward and into another tree. It sends me flying back so hard that I break the tree and a few after it. I landed in the snow hard. I try and get up but can't. The robot comes towards me. Its steps make a stomp, click. Stomp, click sound in the snow. It lifts its arm ready to smash down on me. My ears flicker and at the last second, I managed to teleport away in time and a bit of the way off and behind it.
HE'S BEHIND YOU, YOU HUNK OF JUNK! GET HIM NOW! FINISH HIM BEFORE HE DESTROYS YOU!
THIS ENDS HERE AND NOW EGGMAN!
I take hold of my inhibitor rings and with a click, they drop into the snow with a soft crunching sound. My true power was now unleashed as I stood there looking at the robot. Eggman rears back in fright knowing he's done for.
W-W-W-W-WAIT SHADOW….NO….DON'T DO IT!
CHAOS INFERNO!
I pull my arms and legs in and throw them out sending a Chaos Inferno out in every direction. It melts the snow and ice around us and heads right for the Egg Iceman. It rears back as it is hit by my Chaos Inferno and its ice body melts. Without any snow or ice around it couldn't regenerate. I quickly follow it up with a Chaos Blast.
S-S-S-S-SHADOW NOOOOOOOOOO!
CHAOS BLAST!
Once again I bring my arms and legs in and throw them out sending a powerful blast outward. It hits the robot and Eggman and it blows up and sends Eggman flying.
CURSE YOU SHADOOOOOW! I'LL GET YOU FOR THIIIIIIISSSSSS!
Panting I float there watching him fly off.
I scoff as I slowly start to land. But as soon as my feet touch the ground something hits me from behind as I'm forced to arch my back from whatever it was that hit me. My mouth opens in a silent cry of pain as I fall to the ground in a heap. Blood starts to slowly pool around me as I lay there with an icicle spear thru me. I weakly reach out to pull the part of the robot that somehow managed to get a hold of some snow and ice to form an icicle and shoot it at me.
Damn...you...Egg...man…
Before I could do or say anything more there comes a blue streak that rams into the bit of robot and kills it. The blue streak flies into the air and lands in the snow. The next thing I know is I hear crunching in the snow as whoever it was that saved me runs over to me and bends down. The images start to become fuzzy and I could feel my eyes starting to close. But as I do I could hear a voice. HIS voice. That annoying blue hedgehog's voice calling out to me.
Hold on Shadow. I got you now buddy.
Fu...ck...y..ou...Son...ic…
Same old Shadow.
I heard him chuckle out as I felt him pull the icicle spear out of me and wrap something around me. After that everything went dark.
I woke up three days later with little recollection of what had happened or where I was for that matter. The last thing I remembered I was on the brink of death then he came. I bolt upright fast and cry out as I hold my side grimacing.
SHADOW!?
He was there with me, but where WAS here? He goes and places his hands on me and holds me up. I slap his hands away growling at him.
GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME NOW FAKER!
He rears back from me with a look of hurt on his face. Like I care anyway. Growling low at him, Sonic looks at me with concern in his eyes.
I-I'm sorry Shadow. I just wanted to help you up. I know you must be wondering where you are right now. I mean that battle with Eggman took a lot out of you buddy. You used up all your powers fighting him. You got hurt during the process and I managed to come along in time to save you. But you need to take it easy or you'll open your wound again.
My wound?
Yeah.
I went and took a look at myself and I could see I had bandages wrapped around my arms, part of my face, and my chest. With smaller bandages taped to me.
I was coming in to change your bandages when you woke up screaming out.
I grunt at him narrowing my eyes as I scoff.
You're pathetic you know that? You never change Faker.
Hey, that's not very nice Shadow. I mean I saved your life after all. If it wasn't for me you'd be an icicle.
Sonic folds his arms as he stands over me annoyed.
Yeah, whatever Faker. I didn't ASK for your help, and I don't want it.
Well, too bad Shadow. You're getting it whether you like it or not.
AND I SAID I DON'T WANT IT! SO BACK OFF!
I throw the blankets off me and try to stand up. Grunting out in pain I fall over and grab hold of the nightstand next to the bed. Sonic comes over to help me but I slap his hand away. He looks at me annoyed as I growl at him. Holding onto my side I make my way slowly to the bedroom door. I open it and at once I'm blinded by the light in the room. Covering my face to let my eyes adjust to the brightness for a moment. After they do I see that I'm in a tidy medium-sized home. I feel a set of hands-on my back and I shrug them off.
Shadow I think you should get back in bed. You're not fully healed up yet and you could end up opening your wound again. PLEASE.
My left ear twitches to the sound of his voice but I ignore his pleas to go back to bed. I keep going till I'm at the front door.
Shadow I mean it. You're hurt too badly to be moving around right now. You're going to open your wound up again.
I DON'T CARE SONIC! JUST STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!
I flatten my ears back as I get my shoes on. I open the door and I walk out of it and leave slamming it behind me. I didn't care if it was raining or not. I didn't want to be in that hedgehog's house another moment if I could help it. Holding my side I walk on and head due east. I walk for a long time, I don't know how far I walked but I hoped it was far enough away from that stupid blue hedgehog.
As I walk I feel something wet against my side. I remove my hand and see blood on it. He was right, and it irked me that he was. Grunting I keep walking on not caring. This wasn't the first time I was in this bad of a state, and it wouldn't be the last time either. I've survived them all.
The rain kept falling as I walked on, it never let up that day. The more I walked the more I felt weaker with every step. But I didn't care. Not once. I stop under an old willow tree and see that it had a big enough opening in its trunk for a single person. I thought to myself it wouldn't hurt to rest for a little bit before moving on, and so I did.
I sat down and curled up. My side was still bleeding as I sat down, blood seeping through the bandages. I curled up shivering from the cold and from being wet. Maybe I should have stayed at his house till I was well enough to leave. I should have let him help me till I was better. But I didn't. Instead of swallowing my pride I kept hold of it and left, and now here I am, cold, wet, shivering, and bleeding out again. Nice going, you moron.
I could feel sleep starting to take hold of me. But I forced myself to stay awake for as long as I could. But it was a losing battle. I ended up falling asleep anyway. I remember waking up and feeling dry and warm. I looked around the room and I could see I was back in his room. My ears moved about and I could sense someone in the room with me, and the feeling coming off him wasn't good.
So, are you going to let me help you get better this time? Or you going to go back out there in the pouring sleet again, and just so you know there's a winter storm warning for the next few days. But if you want to go I won't stop you. But I won't come after you a second time Shadow. So what will it be?
Looking away from where the voice was my ears flatten and I close my eyes. As much as I hated to admit it I gave in and swallowed my pride.
I'll...stay... this time. I won't run off till I'm well.
Good.
I could hear the smugness in his voice when he said that. As if he won a battle with me just now. Which I guess in a way he did.
You were bleeding out again so I had to redo your stitches again. I also changed all your other bandages and cleaned everything out. I made some hot stew, you would like some? It's pretty good. Vanilla gave me the recipe for it.
So you do eat other things besides chili dogs huh?
He chuckles at this.
Yeah, I do. I mean I gotta keep a balanced diet after all.
There was the smugness again in his voice. If I wasn't so hurt I would have decked him. Stupid fake hedgehog.
So what about it? Would you like some?
I carefully roll over and pull the covers over my head. Sonic takes this as a sign and nods.
Well if you need me I'll be in the guest room next to mine. Goodnight Shadow.
With that, he left me alone. He left the door open a crack and I could hear him cleaning up in the kitchen. A short time later I could hear the other bedroom door open, but not close. My guess was he left it open a crack should I need his help for anything.
Sighing I pull the covers up around me and I breathe in deep and close my eyes. But the moment I do I could smell him all around me. His scent was all around me, like the wind and sunshine. For some reason, this not only irked me, but it gave me comfort for some reason. I take in another deep breath allowing his scent to fill my lungs. This time I could smell the scent of fresh grass. Fresh grass and wildflowers mixed in with the sunshine and wind. This was his scent. A scent that for some reason soothed me. I slowly closed my eyes and before I knew it I was sound asleep.
Another three days later nothing had changed much between us. Some of my cuts were healing up nicely, and the swelling on my left eye had gone down at last. It still hurt to breathe some but I could tell that my ribs were starting to heal up as well. Though the hole in my chest where the icicle spear was, was taking its sweet time. More than likely due to me using all my powers up so it was going slow.
Just as Sonic told me, a winter storm blew in that night. the winds howled like a banshee on the warpath. Even though I was still annoyed by being saved by him, part of me was happy I was someplace dry and warm, and safe. I could hear the front door opening up and closing and I guess Sonic had gone out to get more firewood for the day.
I hear him setting the logs down in the pile by the fireplace and then coming down the hallway to his room where I was staying. He knocks on the door and pokes his head in.
What is it Sonic?
Came to see if you wanted anything to eat yet.
Is there any more of the stew left?
Yeah, I think so? Would you like some?
Sure.
OK give me a moment and I'll be right back.
As I wait I turn on the TV that's in his room and turn on some random crime show. As I watched it kind of reminded me of the Chaotix, only better played out. Sonic walks back in with a tray with two bowls of the stew and hands me one.
Hey, I didn't think they started the 4th season of Detective Crime Case Files yet. Really should start from season one tho to get a feel for it. Otherwise, you'll end up lost. I got all three seasons on my DVR if you want to watch them.
Maybe later. What are you doing here anyway Faker?
Though I'd keep you company if you like?
I wouldn't, but not my house so whatever floats your boat hedgehog.
I go and I eat my stew in silence and he just looks at me for a moment and gets up to leave.
Right well if you need me I'll be in the living room.
I just scoff at him and ignore him. He leaves me after that for a couple of hours. Later he helped me into the bathroom so I could shower why he changed the bedsheets and blankets. When I was done he redressed my wounds up once again and helped me back in bed, and I went back to watching Detective Crime Case Files in silence. I went to sleep shortly after a few hours and I dreamed. Something of which I haven't done since when I was back on the ARK.
"Hey, Maria?
Yes, Shadow?
I was wondering about something?
What about Shadow?
I had a strange dream last night and it confused me for some reason.
What do you mean?
Well in my dream I was on Mobius, it was cold and the leaves were different colors. Red, yellow, gold, and greens. I think it was autumn, and it was cold and wet too. I think it was raining because it was a bit dark. I was walking in a forest where all the trees were gold. I was alone walking down a pathway when all of a sudden the wind picked up and blew a bunch of leaves in my way. When it settled down I saw blue?
Blue? Like the sky?
No, this was a deeper darker blue. A blue I never saw before, and it was talking to me but I couldn't hear what it was saying to me clearly. Its voice was muffled. And this blue I saw it looked like it had a body to it with a hint of peach coloring but I'm not too sure. It was all blurred out. I think it was calling out to me and holding its hand out to me.
Did you take it?
No, I ended up waking up from my dream because it ended up turning pitch black and I see blood around me and I'm holding my side, and my blood pooled around me. The blue blur was no were to be found either. To be honest, I've been having this dream a lot, and I don't understand it.
That is very strange Shadow and kind of scary too.
What do you make of it?
Well, you said you've been having this dream a lot right?
Yeah.
Well, this could be a guess here. But I think this dream has some meaning to it. I read once in a book, that if one has the same dream over and over again then it has to mean something. But it is up to the one who is having the dream to figure out its meaning. All I can say it sounded like you were on Mobius if you saw leave and were walking in the rain and everything, and it sounds like you're hurt badly as well. As for why this blue blur was no longer there, I think it means he left you or you him. It's hard telling. But all this tells me it could be a sort of insight into something that will happen in the future.
In the future?
Yeah. It's only a guess but I feel this to be the truth.
I wonder what it could mean?
Who knows only time will tell Shadow."
That night I had that very same dream again.
"I'm walking down a pathway through a golden forest. It was a bit dark out because the clouds were covering the sun up and it was raining. The rain fell as I walked alone. Cold and wet. I didn't have a sweater on or even a coat. I walk alone and all of a sudden a gust of wind picks up and blows a bunch of leaves past me to the point it knocks me down.
After it settles down that very same deep blue blur shows up and holds out its hand to me. I hear it saying something to me but it's muffled like always. But I could make out a small bit of what it was saying. Something about a hand. It was all I got this time. Then like always the sky gets pitch dark and everything goes black. I'm in a pool of blood again. I hold up my hand and see it's my blood. That blue blur was nowhere to be found again.'
I wake up screaming out and Sonic rushes into my room to check on me.
SHADOW YOU ALRIGHT!?
I had a hand on my face as I held myself up and panting hard. Sonic comes over and places a hand on my back and chest to help sit me up. He hands me a glass of water and I take it and drink from it. After a moment I calm down. I hand the glass back to Sonic and he sets it down on the nightstand.
Hey, you OK now?
Yeah, thanks.
What happened?
It was a dream.
Dream huh? Sounded more like a nightmare to me.
Yeah.
Sighing, I sit there for a moment when I hear Sonic sigh annoyed.
What's wrong now?
You somehow opened up your wound again you Ultimate Doofus.
I growl at him annoyed as he walks out of the room.
I'll be right back with the First-Aid kit again and clean sheets.
Sighing I place my hand on where my wound was and look at it. He was right. AGAIN. And it irked me that he was. Sighing, I throw off the cover and stand up slowly and sit on the chair. He walks back in with a new set of clean sheets and the Fist-Aid kit. He changes the sheets first and puts them in the washer so the blood wouldn't settle in then comes back to patch me up for the third time in less than a week.
It takes him about 15 minutes to finish patching me up.
I did a double stitch this time so hopefully, it won't open again.
He tells me as he places new bandages on me. He helps me back into bed and I carefully rollover.
Gee not so much as thanks even.
I could hear the sarcasm in his voice and I smiled a little bit scoffing at him.

See was that so hard to say, Ultimate Doofus.
I look up at him and growl. He stands at the door and looks at me with a smile. I take the extra pillow that's next to me and throw it at him. It hits him in the face and he laughs. He picks it up and walks over and tosses it on the bed then turns around to leave once more without a word. I could have sworn that there was a hint of something in his eyes just a moment ago. Ignoring it I roll over and go to sleep.
The next few weeks went by slowly. The winter storm had stopped a few days ago. Sonic was outside shoveling snow again to make a pathway from the house to the road. After he was done he made us lunch of some sandwiches and soup.
Sorry, it isn't much. I'm hoping to get into town before tomorrow before another winter storm hits. One shouldn't but never hurts to be ready just in case.
I tell him it's fine and not to worry about it.
After we had lunch he headed out to head to town. The minutes drag on, and they become hours. I was in the room watching Detective Crime Case Files when a knock sounds on the door. I try to ignore it as best as I could but whoever it was wouldn't take the hint that no one was home. Sighing I throw the covers off me and slowly get out of bed my side screaming in protest and try to work my way over to the bedroom door and open it. The knocking became frantic as I tried to hurry. Using the wall I work my way to the front door. I managed to get there and look at my hand to make sure that it wasn't bleeding. Thankfully it wasn't… YET... The knocking continues and I start to get annoyed.
I'M COMING JUST HOLD THE FUCK ON!
I yell out at the door as I finally make it and throw it open yelling again.
CAN'T YOU TAKE A HINT THAT NO ONE IS AROUND!
WELL, I NEVER SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG!
I stand there in shock as someone slaps me across the face hard and folds their arms and huffs. Their Chao yells at me annoyed.
Cream? Cheese?
That wasn't very nice Shadow.
I stand there glaring at them growling.
Well banging on the door non-stop to annoy someone isn't either!
Well, I'm sorry but I was in a hurry. I need Sonic right away.
I look at the young adult lop-eared rabbit. She had grown since the last time I saw her. She looked to be 19 now and had quite a nice figure to her. She was an almost spitting image to her mother Vanilla. She was slim and petite, maybe about a foot shorter than her mother. Her hair was a silky soft orange-brown and pulled back with a ribbon. She had on an orange sweater dress and white leggings and a bright red scarf around her neck. She also had on a pair of orange winter boots that had fluff around the top hems of it along with pom-poms. She had on a pair of mittens that had snowflakes on the back of them. Her breast had grown to nearly as big as her mother's as well. She looked quite lovely. I look her over and blush a bit.
What...ahem… what did you need Sonic for? He's out shopping right now.
There was a cave-in on part of our house a bit ago. My mother is trapped. Can you come help if Sonic isn't here?
I wish I could Cream but I can barely move, right now as is.
Cream looks me over and she sees the bandages that were wrapped around my chest.
OH SHADOW!? WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!
Eggman is what happened to me.
Oh gosh, Shadow I'm so sorry I didn't know. I'm sorry. Oh, what am I to do? Do you need any help till Sonic comes back?
No, but if you like you can use Sonic's Phone and call someone for help...(and then get the hell out of here and leave me alone so I can get back to my show.)
May I please? I think Knuckles may be down from Angel Island now that the snow stopped.
I move aside and let her and her Chao in and they head right for the phone. I close the door and I head back to lay down before I open my wound up again. I managed to make it back to the room stopping in the bathroom for a few moments, and I lay back down.
After a few moments Cream knocks on my door and I glare at and sigh.
Yes, Cream.
Sorry to bother you but I just wanted to say thank you for letting me use Sonic's phone, and that I'll be going now to meet up with Knuckles. If there's anything you need before I go please let me know.
Yeah, there is.
Really? What is it?
You can go away and stop bothering me.
I go and I growl at her and she gaps out in shock but she regains her composure and folds her arms and stares at me with her light brown eyes.
You know Shadow if you were just a bit nicer to people you'd see they would be a lot more willing to help you out with whatever it is you need.
Well, I just told you what I needed Cream. So do it and get out of my face! I'm in no mood for your childish games or remarks.

Cream faces palms and groans out as I glare at her Chao.
Even if it is true Cheese that wasn't nice.

Creams huffs and folds her arms turning bright red.
I narrow my eyes at the two of them as I tilt my head slightly.
What did he say, and why are you so red?
NOTHING! Nothing at all. He he he… he's just being a bit of a brat is all. He hehe. Well anyway, will go ahead and leave you alone now. Sorry for bothering you and thank you again.
Cream hurries out of my room with her face bright red. I could hear her scolding her Chao as they left. I soon hear the front door opening and closing and I get back to my show. A few hours later I hear it open again and I rub my eyes and yawn out. I must have fallen asleep shortly after Cream left. I hear footsteps coming down the hallway and a knock on my door.
Yeah?
Hey, Shadow I'm back.
So I heard.
Anything happened, why was I gone?
Yeah, Cream stopped by looking for you, needing your help.
I see. What did you tell her?
You were gone and wouldn't be back for a time.
What did she need?
Part of their house caved in due to so much snow over the last few weeks. She used your phone to call Knuckles then she left. I'm not sure what happened after I fell asleep shortly after she left.
I see. I best call Knuckles to see what happened. Thanks, Shadow.
Whatever.
Give me a few to put the shopping away and call Knuckles then I'll come clean and dress your wounds again.
Yeah, whatever Sonic.
After about an hour Sonic walks back in with the First-Aid kit and he starts to clean and bandage my wounds again.
Well, Cream and her mom are fine now. They're going to Stay with Amy for the rest of winter till they can get their place fixed up.
That's good I guess.
Yeah, it is. Your wounds are looking better, even the big one is starting to heal up nicely since I did the double stitching on it.
Good the sooner it heals up, the sooner I can get out of here and far enough away from you Faker.
Oh, come on Shadow don't be like that. It hasn't been all that bad, has it?
I scoff at him and look away.
Right? Well, I have dinner going it'll be done soon.
After an hour Sonic comes in with dinner for me and hands it over to me. It was veggie lasagna and fresh garlic bread. It was pretty good. After finishing it he helps me into the bathroom for a shower and to dress my bandages once more. He heads to the living room and I stay in the room and rest yet again. All I have been doing was resting since I got here.
The weeks drag on and another winter storm hits. Not nearly as bad as the first one but enough to delay spring a few days. But once it came around I was starting to feel like myself again. As the weather starts warming up things started turning green, and Sonic started opening the windows up on the warmer days to air out his home.
I was able to finally move about a lot better now without so much pain. My wound was almost fully healed up and I could feel my powers coming back. But the thing was, according to Sonic, he hadn't been able to find my inhibitor rings when he found me. Meaning that they must have gotten lost during the showdown with Eggman's robot.
In a way I guess I don't need them now. I learned a long time ago to control my full powers on my own. I guess I keep them around just in case or for show. I don't know really. I had them so long I guess they became part of me and I feel less a whole than I do with them. Guess that is what one calls feeling nostalgic.
I was in the living room one day resting on Sonic's sofa, like his bedsheets and blankets; it smelled of him too, when there came a knock on the door. Sighing, and knowing full well that someone was here, I get up wincing in pain, and walk over to it and open it.

I'm nearly healed up but I think I have another month or two to go before I am.

I didn't think for one moment to tell Cream not to say anything to anyone I was here.

I glare at Sonic growling as I turn around and head back to the room slamming the door behind me. I lay down on the bed on my front. I hiss out in pain as I landed wrong on my wound, and take hold of the pillow, and scream into it. After taking a deep breath I could smell him once more. His scent of the sun, wind, grass, and wind was all over it even after I asked him to wash everything stating they stunk of him and made me sick. Truth be told. It was the one thing keeping me calm right now and relaxed.
Rolling over I lay on the bed staring at the ceiling and place an arm over my face, sighing out. As I lay there I hear a knock on my door. I peek out from under my arm and quietly roll over and pretend I'm sleeping. I wasn't in the mood right now for his shit. I hear the door open and then his voice.

I stay quiet not saying anything or moving.
Listen Shadow I'm going to head out to meet up with the others to see what can be done about Creams place and see if anything more can be saved. I left you something in the fridge should you get hungry or if I'm not back in time for dinner. I'll see you later Shadow.
Still not saying anything or moving I heard him sigh and close the door. I soon hear the front door open and close, then quiet. I lay there in the darken room for what felt like forever to the point that even the quietness was becoming too much. Sighing I get up and put on my shoes and head on out myself. I don't know where I was going but I needed air. I think about leaving a note for Sonic but scoff at the idea of him worrying about me. I remove the bandages off where they covered my wound and see it looks fine. We only kept them on should something happen, and a walk and fresh air shouldn't hurt it.
Tossing them on the kitchen island I head on out. I get a few feet away sighing annoyed as I turn my head around and glare at his house. Sighing I head back in and leave a note letting him know I had gone for a walk. I leave it on the door as I head out and head due east yet again and to the old willow tree once more.
As I walked there I could see a couple of kids playing around in the grass enjoying the warmer weather. I scoff at them and go on. It takes me about an hour to get there. I was about to sit down under it when I saw a couple of Mobian's a Manx cat, and a very pretty Blond Poodle, under there enjoying a picnic lunch together. Sighing I move on when something catches my ear.

Saying he would be back for Anna later, stating he would end up killing him if he got in the way again of his prize, cause he planned on making Anna his right in front of him. Then he goes and sprouts a bunch more shit soon after.
I ended up softly chuckling and shaking my head.

After that, we went to bed, and again I had that dream once more, and again I ended up waking up in a cold sweat screaming out. It was the same thing again. It happened just like before. But this time it was slightly different. This time I could make out another word, this time it was LOVE…. That was it but what did it mean? Sighing I get up and head to the kitchen for some water. As I turn the tap on and fill a glass up I look out the small kitchen window at the lowering moon.
I was so lost in thought I didn't hear Sonic come up behind me. But I felt his hand on my shoulder and more out of reflexes I turned around and took a swing at who was behind me. For a moment I see a blue streak ducking out of the way in time as my punch misses.

Saying the same thing I told Sonic the night before. Once we were at the tree Tails flies up and Knuckles climbs up behind him. They had a little problem with the Raven since it was home. But Knuckles set it flying off with a good punch in the beak, though during the small tussle the nest fell out of the tree and it scattered everything around, and Just like Anna had predicted, that thieving Raven had taken my other inhibitor rings. Her necklace was there as well as a few other odds and ends.
HEY?! Is that that my lucky wrench?! I've been looking all over for it for nearly a year now.
Tails picked up a rusty old wrench and looked at it.

Placing my other inhibitor rings on I walk over to the busted up nest and move the mess around till something shines brightly blinding me. Everyone else sees it and ends up covering their eyes till the light dies down.

I could hear him walking about and later came over to me and handed me something.

I looked over at him and I could see shadows under his eyes like he hadn't been getting enough sleep of late. I take another sip from my can and go back to just laying there.

I could hear Sonic groan out as he got up to get another beer for himself. I look around in his kitchen for something to snack on.

Last of the hockey games till next season. If I remember right it's Blazing Claws Verses The Howlers.

How about you grab the snacks? I'll get the beers I have a feeling this is going to be a long game. I heard the Blazing Claws got a couple of new guys on their team and they have been killer this season.

We gather everything and go and sit down to watch the game. About halfway through the floor was a mess with crumbs and discarded Chinese food boxes, and about a case and a half beer cans.
You were not kidding about the new guys on Blazing Claws team Shadow. They are BRUTAL!

The game keeps going on and we watch for a bit longer. I was downing another can of beer when I looked over at Sonic. I don't know why but for some strange reason this felt nice doing this with him. Just hanging out and relaxing, downing a few beers, and watching the game. What more could I have asked for right now? As he watches the game, not noticing me looking at him a weird thought crosses my mind. It was just something at random and out of the blue. But as I looked over at him I started to see him in a whole new light.
Out of nowhere, my heart starts to race. I look at him. His Azure fur shines in the light of the TV. His laughter as he watches the game. His toned body just relaxes enjoying this moment. For some reason, I couldn't take my eyes off him for some reason. He looks over at me and asks me something and I look away fast blushing.
Did you see that move that guy did? It was wicked?
Yeah, right.
I say with a soft chuckle, wondering if he saw me looking at him. My heart races even faster and I wondered if he could hear it.
I open another beer and try to focus on the game, but my eyes would dart now and then over at Sonic. There was something about him I was drawn to right now. Sure it could have been the beers talking since a lot of people have said that the truth shows itself when one is drunk. But I didn't believe it. So I put it off as being drunk. I knew I was bisexual but I never even thought of myself with another guy before. Especially someone like this faker of a hedgehog. Then again weirder things have been known to happen.
The game goes on for another two hours. Then another hour due to overtime. I could tell the Howlers were going to win with 20 points ahead of Blazing Claws 10 points, bringing it to a full 50 points ahead of the other team. I decide to get up and go for a shower. I stretch out and start walking to the bathroom.
Hey, where are you off to?
Going for a shower. I already know the Howlers are going to win, there up to 50 points now to Blazing Claws 10.
I started to walk off and ended up feeling a bit light-headed. More than likely due to all the drinking we have been doing tonight. Sonic sees this and he gets up to grab a hold of me to steady me.
Ugh… Thanks, Sonic.
Yeah, no problem. Guess we had a bit too much to drink huh?
He gives me one of his trademark cocky grins.
Yeah maybe? We did go through a case each haha…
We look at one another for a long time. My crimson eyes looking into his emerald ones. This was when I first saw them. Truly saw them. They were so captivating, memorizing almost. I could see so much in those emerald pools of his. We were so lost in our own little world right now. It made me wonder what he saw in my eyes right now. If I looked weak or pathetic right now to him. He continues to hold me when all of a sudden he places his right hand on my cheek and holds it. I hold onto him as we look into one another eyes. I could feel the tension between us right now as if we were waiting for the other to make a move. I lean into him and he doesn't shy away. He keeps holding my cheek in his hand. Ever so gently, yet strong hands. I keep leaning in and before either of us knew it, we were locked together in a deep long kiss.
We ended up kissing for a long time. When we break apart, a trail of saliva hangs between us as we look at one another. Everything is quiet but the TV in the background. I pull Sonic closer to me and turn him around and force him into the wall. He lets out a soft grunt as I look at him. I didn't know what was going on. All I knew was I wanted him right then and there.
S-S-Shadow?
Sonic… I…..
We keep staring at one another for a moment longer. I place my right arm around his waist and hold him close as I place my left hand on the wall next to his head. He places both his hands on my chest panting hard as we look at one another in the eyes. We stay like that as I slowly lean in closer to him and he gulps. I lean down to his neck slowly, his pants get faster as I lean in closer, till I reach the right side of his neck and I nuzzle it softly and breathe in his scent, he gasps out as I keep him close to me. He grabs a hold of my chest fur and digs his fingers into it as he moans out. I chuckle as I nuzzle it again then I lick the side of his neck causing a shiver to run through him and a moan to escape his lips. His soft, warm lips. I lick up his neck slowly and back to his lips where we end up kissing again.
We kiss for what seemed like a lifetime when all of a sudden there comes a sound from behind us and breaks the spell that was over us. We look at one another in surprise and stare at one another for a few moments wondering what was going on when the sound went off again. This time it was Sonic who made the next move, by pushing me off him away. I stagger back and look at him, and he at me.
What...the fucking...hell.. just happened?
I ask him as we look at one another. The sound goes off again, and this time it sounded frantic. We both shake our heads to clear our minds and we realize that someone was at the door.
I ah….best go get that….and see who...it could be...yeah?
He laughs nervously.
Yeaaaaah….. you do that. I'm...just gonna….go for that shower now…
Yeah…. You do that.
We look at one another not moving an inch, not till whoever it was started knocking again. I shake my head and I walk off flustered and red and head right for the bathroom. I go in and start a shower and let the hot water run over me. I could hear talking but right now my mind was elsewhere. Particularly on what just happened moments ago. I had KISS Sonic, and he didn't even shy away from me or try to fight me off. Why? It was like he was liking what was going on. But even still why did it happen to start with? Why did I kiss him and he me? Why did I lick at his neck like I wanted to claim him as my own? Why did he seem to like it when I did?
These were questions I didn't get. But the only answer I had that seemed logical right now, was because we were both drunk right now from drinking a case each of beer. But yet again? It felt like it was something more. Something deeper than being drunk. But what was it? What could it be? These were all questions I needed answers for but what were they? I let the hot water run over me and relax me as I thought everything over. I was confused, to say the least. As I was thinking, another thought came to mind. One that shocked me. Could it be? That maybe? In some shape or form, I was starting to LIKE Sonic?! Like LIKE LIKE him, in a way that a man loves a woman? Is it POSSIBLE? It couldn't be, could it? I ignored the notion growling out as I finished showering and headed to my room.
Once there I start to dry off when there comes a knock at the door.
What is it Sonic?
Mind if I come in to check your wound for the night?
Sure knock yourself out. It's your home after all.
He comes in and I lay back on the bed so he could check out my wound to make sure it didn't come open in the shower or anything. I could feel his hands on me. His bare hands, meaning he had taken off his gloves for the night. As he touches me I try not to let a shiver run through me. His hands were gentle as always when he looked at my wound. Ever so tentative in what he was doing. Though I could feel the tension as well in his hands this time as if he was waiting for me to yell at him or something. I look at him and he looks back at me and he stops what he was doing.
We hold our gaze for a moment till he looks away blushing. I don't know why it was. But it amused me some when he looked away first, causing me to smile a little. He left his hands on my chest for a long time and I cleared my throat. His eyes widen and he looks over at me and removes his hands off me.
S-S-Sorry Shadow he he….

My wound?
I ask him with a raise of my eyebrow.
Oh right, right, he he he…. Well, it looks good and healing up nicely.
Good.
We sit in silence after that. It was a bit of an awkward silence for us. I knew he wanted to talk about what happened just a bit ago, but I didn't. Not really and not to him. After like fifteen minutes I start to say something at the same time he does.
Sonic…
Shadow...
We look at one another, he smiles at me and I just sigh annoyed.
Listen, Shadow about what happened out in the living room…
Sonic just stopped right there, OK? Just stop. Nothing happened out in the living room a bit ago. Nothing at all got it? We were… ARE drunk still from watching the game. So just drop it and pretend it never happened.

We stare at one another for a long long time. Both of us could tell this was bothering us. But I didn't want to talk with him about it, I just wanted to forget it. The thing was it was going to be hard to do. I sit up and like before he doesn't shy away from me as I do. We watch one another for a long time. I was about to say something when he gets up to leave.
Well, I'll see you in the morning Shadow. So talk to you then.
He leaves and closes the door behind him and I could hear him cleaning up the living room. Knowing him he would have done in 5 seconds flat, then headed to bed himself. After that, I roll over and think about what happened till I fell asleep.
