I think this is incredibly self-indulgent but I had a blast writing so I hope y'all have at least some fun reading it!
Once upon a time, in the faraway, magical kingdom of Lunaria lived a young prince. The young prince had always longed for a fair maiden to share true love's kiss with… And one day, the fates had heard his plea but the path to true love's kiss would be an unforgettable quest…
"Look out below!" a tall young man with blonde hair bellowed as he pulled back the ropes. A short, chubby man gave a startled squawk as the troll came crashing to the ground, all bound up in ropes. He swore he could have felt the ground shaking as the monster toppled over to the earth.
"An amazing feat, dear Prince Austin…" the prince's lackey began, cringing as he felt troll slobber on his hand while climbing up the creature "Your tenth troll this month, they've been pestering the kingdom non stop these days!"
"Thank you, Chuck!" Austin beamed with a twinkle in his teeth before his expression became serious "Capturing the trolls is a fine way to pass time but what I really long for is my heart to be joined in song…"
As if a fairy waved their wand, he heard a melodious tune. His jaw dropped and he swiveled his head to find the source of the voice.
"Do you hear that?" he excitedly asked Chuck, a glimmering spark in his eyes.
"Me? Hear what? I don't hear anything! There are no girls around here! No one lives here! Unless if they visit the lakes… but with the trolls, no one can see anyone by the lake these days!" the short man rambled, a little too hurriedly.
"Oh, I must find the maiden who belongs to that sweet voice!" The prince decreed before jumping onto his trusted steed and commanding "Ride into my destined love!"
As the horse took off, Chuck vainly attempted to chase after Austin before losing track of him. Oh dear, this wasn't good! Her Majesty Queen Brooke wouldn't be happy if she found out Austin had fallen for a woman! A woman who wasn't the queen! Ever since Brooke had become queen, she chose Prince Austin from the neighbouring kingdoms as her betrothed. While the prince had refused this unspoken agreement many times, the queen would resort to anything to make him fall for her!
A troll groaned in boredom and an idea went off in Chuck's head. He smiled deviously as he began to think… maybe perhaps he won't meet that maiden after all…
Austin began vocalizing to the sound of the melody, feeling a connection from miles away. Suddenly, he felt the earth begin to shake and heavy footsteps resonate across the forest… a low growl rumbled across, Austin looked back, and… the troll he captured earlier was free!
"Oh, you shall not prevail! For the maiden is mine!" he challenged as his steed galloped faster in the direction of the voice.
Today was one of the strangest days of Princess Piper's life. It all began when she was taking a small gallop around the lake with her horse. The princess decided to hum a little tune during her journey to pass time.
As Piper began to hum, she felt the ground begin to shake and loud footsteps stomping against the dirt. Her horse stood rooted to the ground and she turned to face a troll…
"I eat you now!" he bared his teeth to reveal dried up blood and flesh… the princess was thankful that she didn't eat anything before the journey as she inspected the creature…
"Hey! I suppose to eat you!" Prince Austin heard a voice roar angrily, causing the trees to shake and birds to leave their nests. Oh, this was bad! Somehow, the troll must have escaped and began terrorizing people again! Austin charged in the direction of the sound, not wanting any of his subjects to get hurt once again by those trolls.
Finally, he arrived at the source and found a maiden hanging on to her dear life by a branch.
"Fear not, fair maiden! I will rescue you!"
"I'm a damsel! I'm in distress! I can handle this!" however, as she said that, she felt her grip beginning to loosen before finally plummeting downwards to the floor. And by sheer luck, the troll went sailing into the air as the branch catapulted him away…
"Whoaaaa!" the maiden cried out before landing on his lap. The two stared into each other's eyes for a moment, feeling a spark ignite.
"It's… you," the prince grinned from ear to ear, lovestruck.
"And you are?" Piper raised an eyebrow, unsure what to make of fairy tale logic.
"Austin…" he tilted his head, hearts forming in his eyes "And pray tell, who are you?"
"Piper…"
"Oh, Piper! We shall be married by tomorrow morning!" he swooped his arm out romantically.
"Wait! How are we supposed to get ready? Ah well, by fairy tale logic, it will all be sorted out!" Piper shrugged, too much in love to even care about these minor details.
The two burst out into a duet, riding off into the sunset ready to live happily ever after!
A/N: Hold on to your horses! This isn't the end, we're just getting started! I tried to make the parts in the first few chapters sound like something from a fairy tale book.
