A Monster Child holding a camera came into view. They were completely white, with floppy ears on either side of their head. Their shirt was green, with two yellow stripes going across the middle. They had large paws, much larger than normal hands. It was surprising that they were able to hold the camera without breaking it, though they seemed to know what they were doing.
"Ok, Chara, are you ready?"
"Do your creepy face!"
The Monster speaking screamed, then burst into laughter. It looks like the two are playing… Though, one was a monster and the other human. The Human was pale, with bright red eyes and a wide smile that made them a bit unsettling to look at.. The child had brown hair, and a green shirt with a stripe along the middle.
"Oh, wait… I had the Lens Cap on…"
"What?! You're not gonna do it again?!"
"Come on, quit tricking me! Haha!"
The girl gave a normal, though teasing, grin. The two children laughed with each other... before everything went dark. The Vessel slowly opened their eyes, to a bright light above them. They winced, squinting and shielding their eyes with their hands. This didn't look like the bottom of that cliff…
They sat up, looking around this new room. It was uninteresting, nothing really there except for the flower bed underneath him. The void being picked up one of the flowers, holding it up to their eyes to investigate. Before they could get a good look, the green stem of the flower started to go dark. Before they knew what was happening, the flower wilted, and died in their hands.
The vessel, seeing no value in it, tossed it away. They stood, looking around once more before reaching for their…
Wait, where was their nail?
They searched around them for it, though it didn't appear to be around. Standing now, they walked around the room searching… To no avail. It had vanished.
The best they could find was a stick, about the size of their nail. They picked it up, figuring that it was the best they would get, and that it was better than nothing. Now equipped with a weapon, they were ready to leave.
The next room was equally as blank, though it was significantly bigger. In the middle there was a single golden flower, facing away from them.
The second they took a step forwards, the flower jumped, a squeaking noise coming from them. The weed looked to the bug, a confused expression coming from them. They had eyes! They had a mouth! What was this mysterious flower?
They took another step towards the flower, kneeling down to get a closer look, just for them to lean away.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?!"
The flower yelled, making the Vessel draw back. They didn't just have a face, they could talk! Though they didn't seem to be the friendliest…
"What… Are you? You don't seem human… But you aren't quite monster either, are you?"
The Vessel said nothing. Now that they tried to listen to them… They weren't making any sense. What language were they speaking..? It didn't sound like any Bug Language they knew.
"... Anyways… You're new to the Underground, right..? You must be so confused… Someone ought to teach you how things work down here… I guess lil' ol me will have to do."
Just like that, the Vessel's new Soul appeared in front of him. His VoidSoul.
The little human was confused. Where were they? And where were the flowers? They stood, looking up at the entrance of this place. It was so… Odd. Corpses lined the walls, blending in and making them difficult to spy. But also near impossible to ignore, thanks to the slight sense of dread this place possessed. The human continued on, just to meet a closed door.
A cracked door. Looks like it could be broken down with a little bit of effort.
The human smiled. Good, at least they weren't alone! Maybe their friend could help them… Somehow. They were a ghost, right? Maybe they could check things out past this thing before they-
Ah ah ah, slow down there my ally. I am not a tool, I am a friend. You'll have to do this on your own.
Dang it.
Oh well… seems like she would have to go in blind.
Frisk swung her stick, which hadn't changed much except for it's increased sharpness and slightly increased striking speed. The door easily came down, to reveal her first enemy.
A simple little bug. How odd… It's back was covered in some sort of bug-armor, though it looked weak and quite docile. It approached, slowly skittering towards the new scent they had found.
Two measly hits was all it took for the bug to collapse, falling before them and their improved weapon.
You won! Exp Increase.
One step closer to a new genocide. But… Is it even a choice here? Her buttons were gone, how would they even spare them? Or talk? Even dodging was out of the question, there wasn't even an interaction screen… It would be difficult. But it was new, and if it was new, it was worthwhile. They couldn't risk a reset, they couldn't risk losing this.
