"Your body seems to be in a very good condition. Physically you are human, though the control over mana you show is a different story." Nadia tells Kazuma who is standing in the infirmary in his underwear, getting examined by the water and nature duelmasters.
"Thanks?" Kazuma says uncertainly.
"Man he's buff." Gabriel says, the three young acolytes standing in the infirmary's door.
"He certainly is." Allison says enjoying the sight in front of her, Ray elbowing her in the side and gets a glare in return from the girl.
"You use mana too though, to summon kaijus to this place." Kazuma says having felt their use of energies.
"That's correct, but amongst us only the wisest and most accomplished duelmasters ever learn to use mana as you have. Your grandmother being one of them." Master Kimora informs him.
"I see. Well, am I done?" He asks.
"Yes. You can leave now, I'm sure Jaha is eagerly waiting for you." Master Nadia says.
"Yes I am." Jaha says, pushing aside the three acolytes, entering the room with her cane in hand.
"Fine, let's get this over with so you can show me how to travel between the rift as soon as possible." Kazuma tells his grandmother.
"If that's your wish." She nods her head in acceptance.
"Yeah. My people are depending on me." Kazuma tells her.
"Alright then, come with me." Jaha says and leads him through the underground base, the curious acolytes following at a distance.
"Is there anything you want to know about your parents?" Jaha asks while leading him to the arena.
"Not really. I'm just curious what went on between you and Megaria though." Kazuma says.
"That's fair. When I was a young duelmaster, just recently selected I traveled to the darkness realm to find more creatures I could battle with but I soon got taken captive and was delivered to Megaria as prize. Megaria was ecstatic to have a human in her collection and I looked up to her for a long time, thinking she really was the ruler she claimed to be, but when I found out about her using Illusions and trickery on me and everyone, I left and she tried to stop me. I opened the veil and took her hand with me through the veil, separating the limb between dimensions." Jaha explains.
"I see." Kazuma says thoughtfully.
"How did she treat you?" The old woman asks.
"Like an overprotective mother in the start. She never used illusions on me though as far as I know." Kazuma answers.
"At least it sounds like you were safe." Jaha says relieved.
"Until my 12th birthday. I then decided to travel the realms and gained my reputation as prince of darkness, nature and sky." He explains.
"Sky?" She asks, her eyes opening wide at this information.
He only nods and continues to walk ahead of the old woman until they reach the kaijudo arena.
"What is this, some kind of fighting arena?" He asks curiously.
"Yes. Here we duel with Kaijudo, although with our new acolytes we have a divide in our ways of how to fight." Jaha says, looking back at the three in question and glu-urgle who is peeking out of Gabe's backpack.
"What divide?" He questions, picking up his grandmother and levitating down to the arena while closing his eyes in concentration.
"Wether or not we touch kaiju's the teachings forbid it. But the bond between those three and their kajus can't be disregarded." Jaha explains, looking at the three akolytes at the stands of the arena.
"When you fight with Kaijus, what exactly happens?" Kazuma asks.
"Let me demonstrate." Jaha says and summons a mudman.
"This portal is an opening in that veil you spoke about?" Kazuma asks.
"Yes. We have movements which form our mana to open a portal for a specific creature. We also have generic movements to open portals to the five elements." Jaha explains.
"There are six though." Kazuma says.
"Yes, we never heard or met any kaijudo of the wind realm though." Jaha says.
"Not surprising I guess. Most kaijudos aren't aware of them either. They are few in number and rarely interact with thr other realms." Kazuma informs her.
"So, why so you fight using Kaijudos? Wouldn't it be easier to use hand to hand combat?" Kazuma asks.
"We train with Kaijudos so we can drive back rogue Kaijudos, who escaped the veil. Although currently we have a more dire problem. A former Kaijudo master. The previous master of water has turned evil and is abducting kaijudos, doing god knows what to them in captivity, like experimenting on their evolution." Jaha informs him sadly.
"I see, yes fighting them with your limited use of mana would be difficult I agree." Kazuma says.
"So, who is the summoner of my other clan if you and the girl are darkness summoner." Kazuma asks.
"That would be master Kimura and the acolyte Ray are the most prominent ones. The other acolytes have no favorite realm to summon of yet." Jaha informs him, pointing out the teen in the stands.
"How do you open the portal to the realms?" He asks.
"Let me demonstrate." She says and opens the doorway to light to start.
"I just need darkness and earth." Kazuma interrupts her.
"Alright." She says, closing the passage.
She then opens the passage to darkness with some movements and shows him how to close it.
Kazuma asks her to repeat it and she opens the veil again.
Kazuma closes it for her with a wave of his hand, surprising the woman that he has such a quick grasp on it. He the stretches out his hand in the air and the darkness realm opens to him.
"Can I use the same move to leave the realm and come to this world?" Kazuma asks.
"Yes." Jaha says, impressed by his manipulation of mana.
"Can you show me nature now." He asks of her and she nods, opening an nature portal and closes it. Kazuma then repeats it with no movement other than outstretching his hand.
"Thank you grandmother. I appreciate your teachings. If you don't mind though I need to leave now and talk to my clans, or at least the nature clan." He says.
"I see. Take care and remember where you appear in the kaijudo world. Or you won't find your way to our duelmaster academy again. The outside world doesn't know about us." Jaha advises.
"Alright. I will keep it in mind." Kazuma says, before opening the earth portal, stepping through, appearing just in front of a massive tree near the bronze arm tribe.
He then seeks out the chief many-tribes. The head of most of nature civilization.
"Where did Kazuma go?" The acolytes ask the old woman when she joins them on the way back to the duelmaster meeting room.
"To his friends in nature civilization." Jaha replies.
"Will he come back?" Ray asks.
"I don't know he didn't say." Jaha replies.
"Aren't you worried?" Ray asks.
"Yes, but we can't expect him to give up his way of living out of the blue. He grew up beyond the veil." Jaha tells them.
