CHAPTER 2: Asking Her Out

James Potter was in his last year at Hogwarts. He was giving his services at the Order of the Phoenix. He was one of the two people who were allowed to give services. He had joined them when Voldemort had murdered Mr. and Mrs Potter. Sirius had joined him. James had also allowed secret meetings in his house on the upper east side. It was just him and Sirius at the house anyways.

The next day, he stood up. He was pumped, he was going to ask Lily. Maybe on the rounds that night. He had already been to the grounds, he was doing his daily exercises, Sirius was going to join him, but he knew he was going to be late, like always. James completed his exercises, and checked his watch. It was 7 O clock. No one was there, and this is how James liked it. No one around, he could workout in peace.

"So, so..." Sirius jumped around, "Did...did you, did you ask her already?"

"No, you idiot!" He hissed at him. "Of course, I didn't!"

"When will you?"

"I will!"

"He will what?" Peter sat down with them.

"Ask Lily out on a date!" Remus said brightly.

"Uh...not this again!" Peter sighed.

"What?"

"It never works!"

Sirius flicked at his ear,

"No! No bringing his spirits down!"

"But...?"

"No!" Remus stared at Pettigrew, "Sirius's right, Just one more time and we will see..."

James was starting up the rounds in ten minutes. He tied up his shoes, and he had his broomstick with him.

"Really?"

"What?" James turned to see Lily.

"You brought your broomstick for the rounds." She laughed.

"Oh...that?" James looked at it. "I..have to practise later!"

Lily nodded; she didn't say anything.

They walked around in silence; they were near the north tower.

"Uh...Lil?"

"Yes?"

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure!" Lily tapped her wand, and her untied shoelaces tied them selves up neatly.

"Uh...I...I had to ask..." He started to say. "I need to ask you this...just one more...just hear me out!"

Lily waited.

"Will you..I...am...?" She looked up at him, she hadn't seen him so nervous. Actually, she had never seen James Potter nervous. She thought knew she what this was about.

She sighed.

"I think I know what this is about!" She said.

"And...?" James asked.

"You have to complete the sentence!" Lily laughed.

"Fine!" He sighed. "Will you go on a date with me?"

"James Potter...barely audible!"

"Oh...come on!" James smiled. "Well?"

"James Potter...Captain...I mean Headboy Potter!" Someone came up from the behind, and interrupted them. "James Potter!"
