The next day, Allissa awoke at 5 am sharp after another restless night. As the warm water etched down her skin in the shower, she was reminded of Alexander's touch. Hot. Heavy. Electrifying. Euphoric. Allissa knew it was wrong. Loving her twin. She knew he didn't give a damn. But she did. She had to. She had to be cautious, collected, and resourceful. Because Alexander was impulsive, intrusive, and vengeful. She needed to be the emotional one, she needed to be the one who people saw as kind and comforting. She needed to be the queen playing her pawns. And Alexander needed to be her knight. The one who protected her. She could not deny the emptiness she felt though. The emptiness she always feels. The only time she feels somewhat complete is when Alexander is close. And she knew Alexander felt the same. When she stepped out, she carefully did her morning hair care ritual, followed by her skincare routine, brushing her teeth, to placing perfume and lotion all over. She finally put on her clothing which consisted of a white long midi skirt, and an embroidered button-up top. She then placed some black lipstick on, contoured her cheekbones, blackened and deepened her eyes, which naturally look sunken in and bruised. When she finally looked dead she stepped out of the bathroom, waltzing over to hers and Alex's room in order to help him with coordinating an outfit. She wanted today to be perfect. She wanted people to look at her and immediately think she was a tragic ghost who had died with her beautiful husband. She wanted people to see her, admire her, and fear her. In my eyes, she had achieved the beauty and Grace that came at my hand.

"Alex," Allissa whispered into her brother's ear. He groaned at the feel of her tantalizing breath.

"Alex." She whispered again.

"Five more minutes.." he whined. Allissa rolls her eyes before giving his ear a seductive soft bite, before applying pressure to the point it starts to bleed. Allissa hears Alex giving a small laugh to the sensation.

'If you really wanted to go another round you could've just said so?' he chuckled. Allissa scoffs, licking her lips of the ruby liquid. 'Metallic.' she frowns.

'Sorry horn dog, but we have to get ready for school. First days are important.' Allissa grabs his duffle placing it on the bed, scrounging through it, whereas he simply sat up, resting his head on the headboard. His pale, freckled body coated with scars. Some of which he did himself, some others caused. The pain was something that had magnified between the two fragments, lily was so conditioned, so accustomed to pain others had caused her, she would often seek it, a way of self-destructing, i suppose? Perhaps it was her way of finding comfort, as it was familiar. As she grew that lessened yet I'm guessing the addiction never left her soul.

Alissa tosses him a pair of black skinny jeans, a victorian styled shirt, and his favorite leather jacket.

'Do we really have to dress like dead 18th century children?' Alex sighs. Alissa glares, her lips slightly pouting.

'Yes. we need to be scary and enchanting, we can slack off once we've achieved that.' she nods, going to her dresser to accessorize. Alex came up from behind the goth aesthetic girl, wrapping his arms around her, giving her a small squeeze.

'You smell like lemons.' Alex said as he buried his face in her hair.

'I always smell like lemons.' she pulled away, pointing to the clothes.

'Now go take a shower you stink.' Allissa states.

Alex scoffed, rolling his eyes at his twin's perfectionist behavior.

"Scratch that, you smell like moldy lemons." Alex taunted, giving a smirk that could even tempt god, Allissa's mouth hung agape at his blatant disrespect. I chuckle at the immaturity the two had. Alexander walked into the bathroom clothes in hand, he placed them onto the sink counter, doing his business, before stripping out of his briefs and into the shower. Letting the blistering heat hit his skin. Something all fragments shared, their love of heat.

My eyes wandered across alexanders pale skin, finding beauty in the scars he had created for himself. My hand reached around the small crystal, feeling its heat, heat that was causing this form's skin to bubble and bleed. I did not mind its vengeance though, I just observed alexander as he organized his morning routine. He always felt numb in the shower. Always felt incomplete without Allissa by his side. Alex respected her, admired her, worshiped her. She was his Persephone and he was hades. She was spring, warm, kind, manipulative, calculated. Perfect. He was the harsh winter, cold, frigid, unnerving, impulsive, intense. Beautiful. Both coming together to create summer and fall. Yet God never allowed summer and fall to exist.

Once Alex was dressed, clean, and refreshed he walked back to his and Allissa's room to find her laying on their bed, her hair strewn in perfect curls, her skin paperwhite, eyes sunken in and bagged, cheeks round and rosy, seemingly the only color on her despite her ivory clothing and golden jewelry. Alex hummed the tune she listened to, placing his clothes tossed all along the floor inside the laundry basket, along with organizing their bags filling them with sensory fidgets, ds consoles, headphones, binders, and pencil bags.

A knock suddenly appears in the doorway.

"Hey.. you two ready for school?" Charlie asks. Alex spares him a glare, whereas Allissa smiles, running up to charlie giving him a small hug.

"Wow! Wasn't expecting that kiddo." charlie smiles. The two share a laugh, Alex scoffs at their newfound enjoyment.

"You do know it's a school day? What are you two goin' to a funeral?" charlie jests.

Alex groans.

Allissa gives him a tight-lipped smile.

"It's also Bella's birthday. Were morning her youth." the two twins say, chuckling/ charlie stares at them in confusion.

"Ya know... Cause she's old." Alex smirks, charlie shakes his head laughing to himself at their odd humor. The two were still as mischievous as he remembered Something he thought that they would lose in growing older, but in having a conversation he realized it was still very much intact.

Bounds are something all human- no, all creatures need. Most will die without the connections they form. Lily was no different in her life, I, now wish I could have taken her sooner now knowing the pain those bounds caused. Her father for instance. Abuse, neglect. Lily grew to resent him, but at one point; when she was young and naive, she longed for someone like charlie to just be there. Odd how Allissa has that connection, that longing fulfilled, yet Alex loathed authority, loathed idiots who were selfish like his mother, and loathed people like charlie who lived in blissful ignorance, never knowing what to do or how to handle any of his kids.

Allissa and Alex grabbed their jackets, Alex's being that leather jacket Alissa had handed to him, hers being the same in fashion. Style was everything to the twins, even if Alex would not admit it, he quite enjoyed the alternative aesthetic he and his sister had developed. He liked being odd, he liked the angst and beauty the darkness provided.

The twins and their father bounced downstairs, bags in their hands, Bella looks at them, appalled at what the twins were wearing, then she remembered this is how they normally dress, even yesterday they wore elegant gothic clothing, it looked comfortable looking, so Bella didn't mind. This was different. Bella's thoughts ran rampant of the judgment the two would receive. The two already have a hard time interacting with anyone, this just makes it worse in her mind. Allissa frowns, feeling her sister's concern and discomfort. She grips onto her brother's sleeve, hiding behind him.

"You guys should eat something. Edwards gonna be here soon he's giving us all a ride." Bella says.

Alex scoffs, the other twin runs her fingers along his hand tracing a burn scar.

'We should let her make her own choices. Just because Bella is involved with a vampire doesn't mean we should be.' Allissa reminds him.

"Happy birthday Bella!" Allissa says shyly, pulling out a small book from her clay satchel bag, a neat little bow tied and wrapped around it.

"Allissa... You shouldn't have." Bella whispered, a bright smile on her face.

"What I get no thanks? I chipped in too." Alex pouts. The siblings share a laugh. Bella pauses tracing along the large booklet, a small smile placed on her face. She was thankful that someone at least got her a gift she would like. It was extravagant or highly expensive. But it was thoughtful.

"The Hobbit is a good read. We know you don't really like high fantasy, but it's good to expand your repertoire, especially since you only read jane Austin and Emily Bronte" Allissa rambles, her cheeks flaring.

"It's perfect guys, I'll never put it down insure." Bella walks up, holding her arms out. The two reach around her small torso, both giving her a tight squeeze.

A knock interrupts the touching moment.

"That Edwin?" charlie asks, Bella rolls her eyes but doesn't correct him, instead she grabs her ebony jacket and tangerine backpack. Heading to the door Alex wraps his arm around Allissa's soft shoulders. Both placing headphones on. Edward and Bella talking in hushed voices, her cheeks rosy, a lopsided smirk align his face.

''Embarrassment.'' they feel radiating off her.

''Hunger'' they feel radiating off him.

Alex glares at Edward as they slide past, Allissa keeps her head down. she lifts her skirt as they walk down the driveway, appalled by the mud getting on her boots.

'for you m'lady' Alex tugs the Volvo handle, opening the door. he bows in an exaggerated fashion, her cheeks redden, she whispers a soft "thank you" before sliding inside the car.

The two watch as Bella and her vampire boyfriend waltz over to the car.

'If this ends badly we might have to get our hands dirty.' Alex smirks. Although Alex loves Bella, he knew the repercussions of vampirism. He had seen it first hand, he knew the price of immortality, and he knew how immortals worked. Allissa knew the same as him. She and he thought Edward didn't truly love Bella. Only using her as entertainment or as a shield from prying human eyes. They hadn't known what a soulmate was outside of fantasy, that it even existed in this domain. I'm guessing if they did they would find it ludicrous.

'I agree.' that was the end of their conversation. Edward and Bella step inside his shiny silver Volvo, his ears picking up the clashing of death metal, coming from the soft shy girl and the serenity of classical, coming from the intense, confident boy. He was surprised by the differing tastes in music the twins had. They seemed so similar, yet so different. of course they were fraternal so they hardly looked alike, but the odd similarities in personalities were very confusing. From what Edward knew, their subconscious twitches were timed in sync, their thoughts too similar. Even though he suspected Allissa was the voice of reason between the two, and Bella had described plenty of times Alex's short temper… there was a method to his mind. Like right now, even when his twin wasn't talking to him, he thought of danger. Of a threat to Allissa and him, Edward could understand the appeal to the two. Telepathy was a rare gift, and any coven would benefit from them turning, especially the Volturi. Then Alex and Allissa thought it.

'' well just have to make them go mad.''

they weren't saying it to each other this time. They thought an identical thought. In tone, in reason. Edward frowns, he had never in his immortal life met two individuals, twins at that, have an identical thought. But what does 'make them go mad' mean. Edward was now even more intrigued. Did they have other abilities outside of telepathy? Was that even possible?

I shuddered, peaking out of Edward's mind. He cannot know, although I know currently Edward is no threat to what is mine, I cannot guarantee he will not be in the future. I reached down to my skeletal arm, pulling out a small little maggot that dug into my yellowing and bruised skin, placing it on his shoulder. It crept up and up, unnoticed until it was inside his ear canale. I am not supposed to intervene, being death and all means I have to maintain balance. In all realities. but I have seen lovers fall apart because they lost the ones they loved, and I have already lost Lillian once.

I will not be losing her again.
