It was a normal day at the Galleria Mall. People from all classes in life were going through the various stores of the SuperMall buying items they either wanted or needed.
Others were simply there to hang out and be with their friends and/or family by doing things like going to the Multiplex to watch a movie or having a bite to eat at places like Wonder Taco.
In the middle of the mall was a lemonade stand known as the Lemon as it was shaped like a giant lemon and just in front of that lemonade stand was a round table where a close group of friends were sitting together.
The group consisted by the only employee of the Lemon Caitlin Cooke, her friend and fellow employee of the mall Jennifer "Jen" Masterson who works at the Penalty Box, other mall employee Nicole "Nikki" Wong who works at the Khaki Barn, skater dude / notorious slacker Jude Lazowski, Nikki's boyfriend/scammer Jonesy Garcia, and Burger Mcflipster employee Wyatt Williams.
"Ah great another day at the mall which means another day of having to work near the clones..."said Nikki with dread and she hated her job at the Khaki Barn, mostly because she didn't like the clothes there and her fellow employees and manager annoyed the heck out of her.
"Dude you need to chillax."said Jude as he placed his hands behind his head and laid back a little on his chair.
"You try being near those three look alikes all day and see if they don't annoy you!"snapped Nikki causing Jude to fall back on his chair a little and almost falls on the floor.
"Woah sorry dude didn't mean to offend you."apologize Jude as he readjusted himself.
"No I'm sorry Jude I shouldn't have snapped at you like that I'm just so annoyed lately since Chrissy has been on my case."said Nikki who's manager Chrissy was the leader of the clones meaning she was the one who annoyed her the most out of the three.
"Well at least you don't have a drill sergeant like Coach Halder on your case everyday at work. Yesterday he made me do inventory twice and gave me a penalty when I wasn't doing it fast enough!"exclaimed Jen who really wished her boss would give her a break at least every once in awhile.
"I know and I'm just glad that Big Steve is hardly here which means I can run the Lemon my way."said Caitlin who was glad that her boss wasn't at the mall most of the time meaning she could run the business her way although she hated wearing the lemon hat which was a part of her uniform.
"At least you don't have to work with Wade. The dude is so incredibly lazy that he once again volunteered me to take his shift without my permission so he could go watch a movie."said Wyatt who took a sip of his coffee angrily.
"Dude has been a jerk to us ever since we met him at Underground Video."said Jude as he began munching on some french fries he had on him.
"Well well most of you may be in a bad mood I am not."said Jonesy who decided to add his two cents to the conversation.
"Okay I'll bite why are you so happy?"asked Nikki who knew from experience that her boyfriend was just fishing for someone to ask him why he was in such a good mood.
"Well since you asked I have heard there is a new store open in the mall and I hear the pay is really good which means I'm going to apply and make a fortune."said Jonesy who was really strapped for cash as any job he usually gets he gets fired the same day.
"What new store?"asked Caitlin as this was the first she was hearing about this.
"Well I heard through the job grapevine that Wayne Enterprises is opening shop here at the mall."answered Jonesy causing the group to be surprised as they have heard about Wayne Enterprises at least once in their life.
"That super powerful company from the states that has its tentacles and all sorts of businesses."said Jen as she found this honestly interesting.
"The same company that's based in that city ruled by crime families?"asked Wyatt.
"The company whose CEO is like one of the smartest man on the planet, Lucius Fox I believe his name is."added Nikki.
"The one owned by super rich handsome billionaire Bruce Wayne."said Caitlin.
"Yes, yes, yes, and yes and rumor has it that the boss man himself will be overseeing the operations here in the mall."said Jonesy causing his group of friends to gasp as they did not expect this.
"Bruce Wayne it's going to be here at our Mall?!asked Jen who couldn't believe that one of the richest men on the planet was going to be at their Mall.
"Yep and once I get the job I'm going to get on the boss man's good side."said Jonesy as he started rubbing his hands together.
"Oh this should be good so what's the big money making scheme this time?"asked Nikki who knew all too well that when Jonesy rubs his hands together he has a scheme cooking up.
"Now I know what you're going to say but this time it's one of my more honest schemes. Look I'm good looking and smart, so is Bruce Wayne. My plan is to get on his good side and become a part of his inner circle. With patience and a lot of luck the Jones Meister will be rolling in moolah in no time!"said Jonesy who was really proud of this plan of his.
"Yeah but that is actually not a bad idea."Nikki admitted surprising the rest of the group.
"What?! Compared to his other schemes this one's actually a lot more tamed."she said in her defense.
"Well I guess this makes sense but why are you playing it on a safe side Jonesy? This isn't like you."said Jen who knew from experience that her step brother was not afraid to get on people's bad side so why was he playing it so safe now?
"Well because I'm a lot of things but I'm not an idiot. Bruce Wayne is a very powerful man and it doesn't take a genius to realize not to get on his bad side."said Jonesy surprising his friends as he was actually being realistic for once.
"What?!"said Jonesy who was a little offended that his friends thought he was of so little intelligence that he would mess with a man with power and connections like Bruce Wayne.
"Huh I think I should apply to since I'm strapped for cash right now and could really use a job so I can buy that skateboard I saw in that magazine."said Jude who decided to apply as well.
"Wow I can't believe thee Bruce Wayne is going to be here at the mall."said Caitlin who was all giddy.
"You know he's older than you right?"stated Nikki.
"Yeah and he's handsome and not that old. I'm not going to ask him out or anything like that."said Caitlyn in her defense.
"Yeah Nikki right I mean sure he's rich and handsome and I can tell he's extremely buff under that sit he wear...where was I?"wondered Jen who didn't realize she was daydreaming as soon as she started talking about Bruce Wayne.
"Huh... this coming from the girl who just the other day said that all men are animals."joked Jonesy causing Wyatt and Jude to giggle a little.
"Shut up! Unlike you and the brutes known as Robbie and Diego, Bruce Wayne is a gentleman known to give much money too much needed charities and after school programs. Unlike most billionaires he is not greedy and selfish. I wonder how your dad puts up with you guys"said Jen as Mr Garcia was the only member of jonesy's family who she got along with.
"Man are you still mad about that. I told you me and my brothers will cut back on the pranks for Emma's sake remember?"said Jonesy who despite his jerk tendencies was actually kind and considerate to his little sister Emma.
"Yes I'm still mad as Robbie and Diego put a skunk in my room!"said Jen who was glad she didn't end up getting skunked.
"Hey they're already paying for that."said Jonesy as his father grounded his brothers for their actions.
"Uh oh I better be going to Wayne Enterprises as if I want the job I need to impress the boss man himself by being on time for my interview."said Jonesy who noticed that if he didn't get going he would be late for his interview.
"I'm going too dude! Luckily I always carry my resume just in case."said Jude who pulled out his resume that was covered in hot dog stains.
"I'll go too, I've always wanted to meet a super rich billionaire in person."said Caitlin as she took off her work uniform and closed the lemon.
"I should go to as Wayne Enterprises owns a large share of the Penalty Box, so I don't think Coach Halder will have any problem with me going to see the boss man."said Jen who just honestly wanted to meet Bruce Wayne himself.
"I wish I could go too but I need to get to work since today we're supposed to do inventory and Chrissy will definitely notice if I'm not there."said Nikki who honestly did not want to go to work but she needed her job no matter how much she hated it.
"I should get going too before Wade signs me up for more shifts."said Wyatt as he and Nikki walked off in the same direction as the stores they worked at were in the same part of the mall.
"Suit yourselves! Road to the good life here I come!"said Jonesy as he began walking towards the direction where Wayne Enterprises would be opening shop.
Untill they ran into a familiar face which consisted of a middle-aged man wearing a mall security uniform. The group easily recognized him as Ron the rent a cop, the mall's head security who had an axe to grind with them.
"What?!"asked Jonesy who wondered what Ron was doing there as they hadn't done anything...yet.
"Listen up maggot the people who own this mall are real happy to be doing business with Mr. Wayne and it's my job to keep them happy so you better not give Mr Wayne any grief while he is here do I make myself clear maggot."said Ron in his usual authoritative tone of voice.
"Hey man you don't have to tell me twice not to cross the guy!"said Jonesy in his defense.
"Good."said Ron as he walked away to continue his patrol.
"I really hate that guy."said Jonesy is he in the rest of his group continued their way to the space in the mall that would soon be Wayne Enterprises next location.
The group were are all excited for various reasons.
Jonesy wanted to get on the boss's good side!
Jude wanted a job.
Caitlyn and Jen wanted to meet Bruce Wayne.
As for the others...
Nikki really didn't want to go to work today!
Wyatt got to work before Wayne could give any more "advice" to their boss Tim!
As for Bruce Wayne, he was in the hidden part of the Wayne Enterprises store in the mall that only he could access.
'With this I should be able to track down Thorne and Black Mask over the next following weeks and bring them back to Gotham to face justice.' thought Bruce as he walked out of the secret part of the store and closed it tight before being hidden by a wall so that no unnecessary attention was given.
"Now to start hiring some new employees."said Bruce as he made his way to his "official office" to begin hiring employees for his front business while he hunted down the Gotham crime bosses who decided to hide in Toronto.
Hey guys PrimusPilus here to give his two cents.
Finished this chapter sooner that I expected and I think I honestly did a good job.
I'm really glad I'm doing the story as I want to branch out and do various genres throughout my time as a fanfiction writer.
