Chapter 2: Hired! God of Destruction Legoshi!
After one minute of losing consciousness Legoshi slowly opens his eyes and groans as he feels a sharp pain in his neck. The first thing he saw when he opened his eyes is a completely white void. As he took in his "Surroundings" Legoshi was immediately made aware of 2 things; that he was completely naked and someone wearing robes was carrying him over their shoulder.
In an embarrassed and scared panic Legoshi squirmed out of Gouhin's grasp but was quickly caught by the right ankle.
"I think that is a record for quickest recovery from an angel's chop, *Smiles* but where are you expecting to go? We are in the middle of deep space." Gouhin points out.
The white void suddenly vanishes to reveal that they were indeed deep space as Legoshi can see thousands of stars stretching out as far as he can from entire galaxies, which there were dozens to hundreds of as far as he could see. Legoshi covered his mouth as he needlessly attempts to hold his breath.
"HA! No need. You can breathe normally around me and I will show you how to do this yourself." Gouhin commented as he flipped Legoshi right side up and proceeded to continue the trip back.
Legoshi noticed that Gouhin had looked at him while fully naked and blushed in embarrassment as he tried to hide his noticeable "asset" with his hands.
"While I would like to know what is going on, but could you give me some clothes first?"
"So, modesty is the first thing to comes to your mind while being essentially kidnapped and dragged through space? While I would say that you need to get your priorities straight, at least you have manners which I respect… Well I guess I could do this now."
"Do what now?" Legoshi asks confused.
Gouhin stops again and turns around to face Legoshi. He holds up his staff and holds it above Legoshi's head that then emits a green light that covers Legoshi for a few seconds. As if sensing the obvious question he has for him.
"Just taking your measurements." Gouhin states nonchalantly.
Suddenly a set of clothes appears in Gouhin's left hand.
"Here. Put these on." Gouhin states as he holds out the clothes in his left hand.
Legoshi grabbed the clothes and put them on in less than a minute.
What Legoshi is now wearing is a pair of simple black shoes, a pair of ankle bracelets made of pure sapphire, white baggy pants, a piece of long cloth that stretches from the waist to the kneecaps that is black with gold outline with the symbol of 3 orange claw marks pointing down, 3 claw marks pointing up and a white circle in the middle of the other symbols, a piece of cloth that covers the shoulders, part of the chest and part of the shoulder blades circles around the base of the neck that is black with white lines spaced apart all around the cloth except the middle front where there is 3 orange claw marks going down, a pair of sapphire bracelets and armbands, a sapphire ear clip near the top of his left ear, and a black waist cloth.
While still feeling a little self-conscious about his expose chest and mid drift, Legoshi felt much more comfortable to be wearing cloths.
"Thank you! *politely bows* but these look very… *Looks down at himself* profound. I look like a…."
"A God?!" Gouhin interrupts
"Yeah! But I would not call myself one *sheepishly laughs*"
"But you are one! At least you will be."
"But how could I be?! I was born of mortal parents."
"Destroyers or Gods of Destruction can be born mortal. It is not a requirement that they be born divine."
"…. Are you calling me a.."
"A God of Destruction? Yes… Yes, I am. What did you think that aura around yourself that dissolved anything around you into nothing was?" Gouhin asks as he turns his head to the right at looks at Legoshi over his shoulder.
"You mean that purple aura? I remember growing bigger and it surrounding me, but my image of that event looked fuzzy. Are you saying that aura was something divine?"
"Yes I am, and with my training you will become a literal God. That aura that was around you is called Hakai or destruction Ki."
"So… Who or what exactly are you?" Legoshi asks with a curious look on his face.
"Me? I'm Gouhin: An Angel."
"An Angel? But where are your wings?" Legoshi asked confused.
"Angels don't have those. We have halos though" He says as he points to the halo behind his head.
"So, what does an Angel do?"
"We attend to the God's of destruction and train them in martial arts and in the use of their powers to become the best destroyers that they can be."
"What exactly does a destroyer do or is it as simple as it sounds?"
"Simple? Maybe, but it is not always easy to determine what must be destroyed and what can be overlooked. That is another thing I will teach you: What you should most likely destroy and what should be allowed to grow and prosper, but that part will be your choice since all I will be doing on that is advising at most."
Legoshi starts to sweat a little from the implications of what being a destroyer as he imagines what the job entails.
"What exactly does a destroyer destroy? Like for example?" He asked nervously.
Before Gouhin answered the question, the white void around them vanished, revealing that they were in a vibrant forest with a colossal white tree, with no leaves, that can be seen from anywhere on the platform world. They had stopped the travel at the foot of the tree when Gouhin slowly walked up one of the branches and motioned to Legoshi to follow. Legoshi followed closely behind so that he would not get lost though he was certainly dumbstruck by the size of the tree for a few moments.
"A destroy typical destroys lifeless planets, old civilizations who show no possibility for growth or usefulness for life and its diversity, useless worlds like gas giants, dying stars, entire galaxies and galaxy clusters depending on the need or want. You could even destroy this entire universe many times over if you really wanted to, but I would advise against that since you it would not be good for you to do so simply put."
Legoshi dryly swallows as he pictures the countless lives, he seems to be responsible for now.
"I don't think I'm ready for that kind of responsibility. Hell, I don't believe I can take a single life yet, far less entire galaxies worth." Legoshi states with anxiety clear in his voice.
Gouhin simply turns his head to Legoshi for a moment and gives a faint smile before turning back as they proceed up the massive tree.
"You have a respect for life, which is very good for a destroyer to have, but you have to start thinking on a much longer time and size scale as there are objects, worlds, stars, galaxies, and civilizations that would do great harm to life in the universe if their existence were to continue. A part of respecting life for a God is knowing when to take life and form away from something so that the universe can grow prosperous."
"Is there someone to replace the life that I destroy?"
"Yes, there is: they are called the Kais who are led by a Supreme Kai. They help create life and worlds in the universe while you are to take those things away when it is called for."
Hearing that there are those who help seed life helps Legoshi with the anxiety and guilt of being expected to destroy life, but only by a little.
"Is there any chance I could refuse to take this job?" He asked hesitantly.
Legoshi really did not want to destroy so much in creation if he could help it and hoped there was someone else qualified so he could refuse the job.
"If there was another destroyer candidate then you could, but unfortunately for your case you are the only one currently qualified and the only one that probably will be for a long time even by God standards, though you seem to be a rare case regarding that. There must always be a destroyer for a universe along with a Supreme Kai to balance the forces of creation and destruction, so you currently don't really have much choice I'm afraid."
Legoshi let out a depressed grown as his face dropped a bit as he now knows that he must take on this responsibility. Gouhin sees this and decides to try and change the subject.
"I forgot to ask you: What is your name?" Gouhin asked in a friendly tone of voice.
"Legoshi."
"Legoshi? Huh… interesting name. Well Legoshi, today begins your first day of training though before we start are you tired at all."
"No actually." Legoshi states with surprised enthusiasm
Legoshi stretches his arms and legs before jumping so high that he smashes into the branch 1,000 feet above him and comes comically crashing back down headfirst on to the branch he was just on.
Gouhin struggles to hold back laughter as he looks at how stupid Legoshi looks right now but manages to keep a calm and professional demeanor about himself.
Legoshi slowly stands back up with slight confusion on his face.
"huh… that didn't hurt?"
"Of course, it didn't hurt. It takes a hell of a lot more to hurt a destroyer, even if they have only taken their first steps into divinity."
Meanwhile on the world of the Kais, Gosha was watching Gouhin and Legoshi while sitting on a leather couch underneath a canopy of trees.
"He is so young and inexperienced. I hope Gouhin trains him well and treats him properly since the boy will be looking up to him."
Gosha pouts a little bit.
"Wish I could meet him now, but Kais can't interfere with a destroyer's training, especially at the beginning. I'll ask Gouhin after a few millennia if I could visit." He says wishfully to himself as he looks up at the different planets through the canopy.
Back with Gouhin and Legoshi:
Gouhin led Legoshi to a massive open room inside the tree that was completely empty except for 50 teal luminescent orbs floating near the ceiling that illuminates the room in a low lighting setting and a set of stairs on the opposite side of the room that let to what appeared to be a room with a huge pool of crystal-clear water in it.
Gouhin led Legoshi to the center of the room, which was a simple wood floor carved from the branch that constituted it.
"Here is where we will start with the basics. Have a seat please." Gouhin motioned to Legoshi.
Legoshi looked at the floor for a moment before crossing his legs and sitting down on the wooden floor directly across from Gouhin.
"Before I can teach you anything, I need you to learn how to use your Ki or else you will never be able to keep up with my training. This is mostly going to be meditation and inward focusing. Now first off, do you know what Ki is?" Gouhin asks with his right hand holding up his head and his left hand on his left leg.
Legoshi nervously fidgets under the gaze of Gouhin even though he had a passive expression on his face. He closes his eyes for a few moments trying to come up with the answer.
"You mean someone's life force correct?" He asks opening his eyes and looking at Gouhin.
"Correct! Now this will not take as long as you might think, in fact you could learn how to use your Ki today. Okay Legoshi I want you to close your eyes and try to feel for the center of your body."
Legoshi focuses on his breathing as he closes his eyes and positions his hands in a meditative posture. A few minutes into the training, a question pops into Legoshi's mind that he can not dismiss and decides to interrupt training to ask it.
"Gouhin Sir..eh Master….umm Teacher…"
"Just Gouhin to you Legoshi. What is it?"
"What is it exactly you are trying to get me to accomplish? I mean could you show me an example of what I am trying to achieve with this meditation?"
Gouhin's response was to vanish from Legoshi's sight. Legoshi looked around for his teacher until he looked up and saw him floating next to the ceiling that was over a thousand feet up.
"The movement speed proper for a god and flight as well to start with." Gouhin states while vanishing again and instantly appearing back in front of Legoshi.
"There is also being able to sense the life force of both mortals and gods from universal distances and be able to distinguish between specific individuals based on their Ki. And of course, there is this." Gouhin states as he holds out his left hand.
Nearly instantly a ball of red energy the size of his head appearing floating in his hand. Legoshi stared at the orb with intense, silent interest. Gouhin then flicked his left wrist and threw the ball of energy into the far wall without looking as the ball blasted a 500 by 500 foot hole through the wall, letting in sunlight into the room.
Legoshi dryly gulped in nervousness as a bead of sweat dropped from the back of his head. It was one thing to talk about mass destruction, but it was another for even this very tiny display to be seen in person for Legoshi. It was not that he was afraid, but that the reality of the situation was sinking further in as he looked at the "tiny" display of destruction had made evident to him.
Gouhin willed his staff into existence in his left hand and with a wave of the staff, whose orb on top began to glow a bright green for a few moments, a green grid covered the hole in the wall and began to materialize the same wood the wall was made from into existence until the hole was completely gone in a matter of moments.
Legoshi was even more amazed by the reconstruction of the wall than its destruction since it looked like a more profound display of power.
"I take it I won't be learning to do that last bit?" Legoshi asked as he looked at Gouhin's staff.
"Very perceptive of you: Yes, you won't learn that because that is a power exclusive to angels. Now have I answered your question?" Gouhin answers.
"Yes, you have!" Legoshi quickly nods and assumes a meditative posture again as to not annoy his teacher with lengthy conversation and displays.
"Good. Now try to feel for the center of your body."
"Yes Teach..err.. Gouhin!" Legoshi answers quickly with his eyes still closed.
"Don't need to respond back, just follow my instruction."
30 minutes pass with no signs of progress. Legoshi is sweating in frustration to try to feel for the center of his body.
"If you are having trouble then just try to imagine yourself falling into the center of a black circle. Focus on that sensation of falling until you have reached its apex."
Legoshi imagined himself falling into the black circle of his mind. As he was falling, he remembers that Gouhin told him to focus on the sensation of falling and tried to force his body to experience the sensation of falling. To his surprise, he managed to make his body experience falling while sitting still, which felt like a falling or pressure sensation coming from his chest. His body immediately wanted to stop the sensation as it felt weird, unnatural, and dangerous, but Legoshi managed to suppress the urge to stop, but not without anxiety that caused him to sweat.
Gouhin smiled a tiny bit as he sensed Legoshi making progress.
The sensation of falling intensified for Legoshi until he could force it no more.
"Good Legoshi! Now bring one of your hands forward and bring that feeling to your hand." Gouhin instructed.
This part of the lesson was the hardest yet for how was he supposed to move this sensation, let alone to his hand. 5 minutes had past with no further progress. Legoshi pondered why he had to envision a circle in the first place if all he did was focus on a falling sensation, or specifically its center. Legoshi remembered how Gouhin's Ki ball came into existence as if from nothing and comparing that to the center of the circle he got an idea.
"Maybe it is not literally moving it in the traditional sense where you have to travel to one place to another but have that feeling manifest in your hand instead." Legoshi thought to himself.
Legoshi imagined that the falling sensation in his chest was now expanding on his hand like a balloon. Legoshi focused on this feeling for a minute, afraid to open his eyes or let go of the feeling or else risk losing the energy and having to start over again.
"Legoshi?! I think you can stop now!" Gouhin remarked with a nervous laugh.
Legoshi slowly opened his eyes and noticed that there was a ball of white energy several times the size of Legoshi and Gouhin and was threatening to push Gouhin back, but Gouhin made no attempts to move away from the ball of Ki. Legoshi let go of the feeling immediately but the ball of Ki was still there.
"Gouhin what do I do!?" He asked with a bit of panic in his voice.
"Just reverse the feeling you used to bring it into being!" Gouhin shouted back.
Legoshi closed his eyes again and imagined the sensation of the same balloon shrinking in his hand until it was no more. Legoshi opened his eyes again and was relieved to see the ball was gone.
Gouhin claps for a few seconds as he smiles at Legoshi.
"Excellent Legoshi! You learn quickly for someone so young. Now for a few pointers when it comes to using your Ki."
Legoshi rubs the back of his head in embarrassment at the praise, even if it was a small one, but quickly brings his full attention to Gouhin as to not miss what he was about to teach him.
"First the sensation and envision of volume determines the size of the Ki *demonstrates by summoning a Ki ball and increasing and decreasing its size*. Next the sensation and envision of density along with volume determines the power of the Ki. And lastly the shape, area of sensation, and the sensation itself determines the effect of the Ki. We will get into the different ways utilize this once your martial arts training starts." Gouhin states as he shapes his Ki into a grid, box, aura, and blade around his hand before dissipating it.
Legoshi's mouth hung lazily open as he stares in great interest at Gouhin's display, but then quickly closes it as to not look like an idiot.
"What's next Gouhin?!" Legoshi asked excitedly.
"Next you learn how to fly. Now that you know how to manifest your Ki, all you really have to is envision that sensation at your feet pushing you up, though you can basically do this from any part around you depending on your need of direction."
"Okay!" Legoshi said enthusiastically.
Legoshi closed his eyes again and went back to his meditative posture.
"Stand up when you're doing it with your feet idiot!" Gouhin yelled.
Legoshi scrambled to his feet in shock and embarrassment and closed his eyes again when he was standing.
"Try doing it with your eyes open this time. You would be at a disadvantage without sight even if you could sense Ki." Gouhin instructed.
Legoshi nodded and with a bit more difficulty managed to get to the same starting sensation with his eyes open. Legoshi then manifested a sensation of a jet of air underneath his feet. Moments later Legoshi was flying like a rocket into the ceiling. Before Legoshi hit the ceiling, he instinctually forced a sensation of stillness in his body as if he were suspended in air and he immediately stopped his ascent into the ceiling. Legoshi was now levitating above the ground within arms reach of the ceiling nearly a thousand feet up.
Legoshi looked around a bit and imagined the sensation of moving forward and with that, he moved forward. Legoshi experimented with the direction and intensity of the sensation and was doing spins, dives, dashes, flips, and circles. Legoshi was having the time of his life as he felt the air of his movements brush over his fur like a gentle breeze.
"So, this is what it feels like to be a bird. To feel so free!" Legoshi said aloud to himself in a childish and liberating joy.
"Hey Legoshi! While you are up there, try envisioning a sensation of warmth within your entire body! Once you got that, then try what you are doing now with it! You'll notice a huge difference." Gouhin shouted up to Legoshi.
"What?! O Crap!" He shouted back before noticing to late the wall in front of him.
Legoshi smashed his face into the back wall where the bathroom is with most of his face impeded into the wall. He pushed against the wall with his hands and feet until he was free a few moments later.
"Hey! Did you hear me!" Gouhin shouted.
"Yeah! Just was distracted is all!" Legoshi shouted back.
"Dumbass" Gouhin said quietly to himself.
Legoshi did as he was instructed and noticed that he moved a hell of a lot faster with even less effort than before and noticed that he could react far faster than he thought he could before as the world around him seemed to slow down while he remained the same and he no longer had to worry about running into walls.
Legoshi soon landed back on the floor a few feet in front of Gouhin.
There was a happy go lucky smile plastered on his face as he achieved something that only bird races from his world were capable of, but even better. The sensation of flying was invigorating and "up lifting" for him. It was the first time he has ever felt so free.
Gouhin could not help but smile back a little bit with how contagious the joy Legoshi was radiating from his innocent and happy smile.
"*Clap* Okay Legoshi. Ready for today's final lesson? Of course, you can practice the rest of the day after this, but this is all I have planned for your first day."
"I am Gouhin!" Legoshi answered happily.
"Since you have divine Ki, you should be able to sense me. I want you to close your eyes and keep them closed for the entire exercise. You are going to try to sense my Ki."
Legoshi nodded and closed his eyes.
"Try not to waste your thoughts on this and focus on visualizations like you have done with your sensations." Gouhin instructed.
Legoshi did not respond but heard him clearly enough.
"Focus on the sensation of your own Ki as the presence of your own location."
Legoshi's mind focused on visualizing himself along with the sensation of his Ki as the presence of his own body. Legoshi slowly began to see an outline of himself surrounded by a white aura, though he could also see a purple aura inside his body where his heart is. Paying it no attention, Legoshi focused on maintaining this visualization in his mind's eye.
"Once you have done that, all you have to do is turn your perception outwards. Stretch the visualization outward and try to find me."
Legoshi turned his mind's eye outward and expanded his perception outward like a white pulse stretching out in all directions from his body. Several hundred feet below him Legoshi saw Gouhin as a blue figure of himself moving his hands in a particular way.
Legoshi, without opening his eyes or breaking focus, points his right index finger down and fires a small yellow Ki beam at where he sees Gouhin. Legoshi sees Gouhin vanish and reappear 500 above him on the right. He fires another Ki beam at Gouhin and another and another. Every time Legoshi fires a beam at Gouhin, Gouhin vanishes and reappears somewhere else until finally he reappeared at arms lengths on Legoshi's right. Legoshi pointed at Gouhin, but his hand was pushed away.
Legoshi was about to try and point at Gouhin again but stopped when something hit his nose. It was the smell of something warm and fragrant. Legoshi opened his eyes and saw that Gouhin had a cup of tea in his right hand that he held in front of Legoshi's face.
"I think we can call it a day Legoshi. You have accomplished in little less than a day that great mortal martial artists have not accomplished in years if not decades. You should be proud of what you accomplished, but do not let it go to your head! This is just the beginning! But I digress. You must be thirsty." Gouhin congratulates as he hands the cup of tea to Legoshi.
"Thank you!"
Legoshi takes the cup and sips the tea. The tea was strong and bitter, but also refreshing and reinvigorating. Legoshi coughs a bit at the first sip but manages to drink it without further incident.
Legoshi practices for six more hours before he decides to head to bed. Gouhin escorts him to a room with simple wooden floor and walls with a walk-in balcony that has a high view over a vast distance of the planet. A multi-colored rug was underneath a king-sized bed that stretch past the sides so the sleeper could step off onto something comfy. The mattress felt like laying on top of a marshmallow with light green pillows that feel like cool grass. The blanket was sky blue in color that felt like sleeping under a comfy cloud that does not suffocate, but still makes you feel safe and secure. The ceiling of the bedroom constantly looked like the night sky with a incalculable number of stars with the occupational band of star dust that constitutes the arms of a galaxy. The frame of the bed is made of wood with intricate designs of plants and animals.
While the room looked simple in design, the atmosphere and comfort that it brought would be something only the incredibly wealthy or most determined woodsmen would be able to have from his home world. Legoshi could swear that night was the fastest and most peaceful he has ever slept and no worries past though his mind as the tension of his body was taken away by the comfort of the bed and the worry of his mind by the majesty of the stars above his head.
Days turned to weeks, months, years, and decades as his skills and abilities with Ki and martial arts are honed by the martial arts mastery of Gouhin the Angel, the most powerful and skilled of universe 13. Slowly the only real thing left to teach Legoshi was to continue to refine his skills and abilities as well as learn the most difficult state of being for the gods to learn, Ultra instinct, not to mention the most important part of being a destroyer that he has been holding off, mastering Hakai.
Gouhin has studied Legoshi over the years: his habits, worries, fears, likes, dislikes, sleep and eating schedule, his feelings and attitude, and over that time he has felt like he should hold on teaching Legoshi Hakai until he has fully grasped his power. Legoshi now needs to experience what it really means to be a destroyer.
Legoshi still could not really get over the fact that even after 70 years, he had not aged a day and felt like this day was going to be no different than the hundreds of days before these past couple of years, but he quickly changed that mind set as he saw how serious Gouhin was looking at him. Legoshi was scared that he might have done something wrong with how intense Gouhin was looking at him, but when he saw that he noticed this Legoshi saw Gouhin soften his expression a little bit, but still looked serious.
Gouhin led Legoshi outside of the tree to a barren patch of ground a couple of kilometers away. Gouhin tossed something to Legoshi, who caught it with his pointer and middle finger. Legoshi looked at it and saw that it was a piece of granite about the size of his palm.
"This isn't reaction training, is it?" Legoshi asked slightly perplexed.
"No, it isn't, and I am sorry that I have delayed this training, but I didn't think you were prepared for it. This is one of the last things I have left to specifically train you in. Legoshi… Destroy that rock." Gouhin instructed with a little bit of sternness.
Gouhin could feel Legoshi using his Ki, but not the kind he wanted him to use.
"Not that kind of Ki Legoshi. I want you to use Hakai. The power of destruction."
"I have heard that is what destroyers primarily use, but I have not seen it used before or how to access it. Why am I only learning to use this now?"
"Because Hakai is a very different kind of Ki and is accessed differently. I waited this long because of your personality and general sense of self. I wanted you to master the concept of your own Ki before we moved on to Hakai since I think it will be difficult for you, not in terms of physically difficulty, but mental and emotional."
Legoshi looks perplexed and concerned by this statement, but he has been with Gouhin longer than anyone else and looks up to him as both a teacher and maybe even a father figure, even though Gouhin hasen't really done anything particularly fatherly for Legoshi except help him when he asks for it, and Gouhin as more than earned his trust and therefore trusts Gouhin's judgement.
"To use Hakai, one must fill themselves with nothing else but the will to completely and utterly destroy something. To erase it from existence. You experienced this before when we first met though I doubt you remember that."
Legoshi tries to remember when they first met, though the first member that keeps popping up is when Gouhin was carrying him when he was naked, but he felt like there must be something before that. After a few minutes, he remembers a haze that was over his vision as he saw soldiers dissolving into nothing.
"Yes, you remember don't you Legoshi. How you let your desire to destroy washed over you. To let your body feel so completely free of restraint." Legoshi heard.
To his left Legoshi saw a figure he had not seen in decades, a shadowy form of himself. The eyes of his shadowy self had changed from a red to a purple, but there was no mistaking it; it was the same figure that appeared before him when he nearly died 70 years ago.
Legoshi could feel Gouhin's gaze at him as he stared off at the rock as if deep in thought.
"Well go on. You do not want to disappoint your master now, don't you? Just let destruction fill your veins like you did before." The shadow whispered.
A purple aura started to surround Legoshi as he felt his vision get hazy for a moment before his training snapped him back to reality. The purple aura disappeared as quickly as it came, but that was enough time for his Hakai to touch the stone and dissolve it into nothing in an instant.
Legoshi felt shaken for a moment and almost fell backwards. He knew this is the power that Gouhin wanted, but with everything that he has been taught about control, he did not feel like this was the way to use it.
"You were losing control, weren't you?" Gouhin asked.
Legoshi slowly nods his head in shame.
Gouhin slowly sighs.
"I can guess as to why you did, but I don't think I am the right person to help you with this. I think it is time that you meet your counterpart." Gouhin slowly states.
Gouhin slowly closes his eyes and begins speaking with his mind.
"You there Gosha? I know you have been checking up on us occasionally."
"Yes, I have, but not recently, what is it? You usually don't contact me first." Gosha asks with curiosity.
"I know, but I need your assistance with helping Legoshi with his training. It's with Hakai."
"Hakai?! You know who you are speaking to right Gouhin? If there is everyone kind of being in the multiverse that could never learn Hakai it would be the Kais, especially me!" Gosha states in a confused tone of voice.
"Don't you think that I am aware of that you absent minded fool! No, it is not about teaching him Hakai itself that I need your help with. I need you to give him perspective so that he can accept destruction and therefore be able to control it." Gouhin growled back.
"Ok but you are the one that ultimately has to teach him the mindset needed for control."
"I know Gosha now get over here!"
Gouhin steps to the side by a few feet after opening his eyes back up.
"Okay Legoshi. I have called for assistance for this training."
Just then an anthropomorphic Komodo dragon instantly appears to the right of Gouhin.
Legoshi sees that the Komodo dragon is wearing a particular set of cloths with green earrings and that he is a head taller than himself.
"Hello there Legoshi! It's about time I see you!" he says in a friendly manner.
Gosha walks incredibly close to Legoshi and looks him over as if inspecting him.
"What are you having trouble with Legoshi?" Gosha asks in an almost parental kind of concern.
"Legoshi, this is Gosha: The Supreme Kai of Universe 13 and is your counterpart to your destruction. I believe that he can give you a better… emotional perspective to creation and destruction and their necessity for each other."
"Supreme Kai's like myself are more… in touch with life as a whole, which very much includes mortals that angels don't really interest them in the slightest. Now I cannot help with teaching Hakai myself since that is the complete antithesis of what I do, but I can help with perspective as your master so puts it. Now what is it from you that feels like the problem Legoshi?"
"I…. feel like I have no control of myself when I use Hakai. It's almost as if someone or something else takes over when I use it, but that should not how it works right?!"
"Right." Gouhin confirms.
Gosha looks at Legoshi with caring eyes that feels unusual for Legoshi, especially after living so long with Gouhin. Gosha slowly raises his left hand towards Legoshi but stops before touching his face.
"May I?" Gosha kindly asks.
"….Yes" Legoshi quietly allows.
Gosha slowly puts his left hand on the left side of Legoshi's face. Legoshi feels as though Gosha is probing his mind but does not feel any ill intent so he allows Gosha to look. After two minutes have passed, Gosha lets go of Legoshi's face.
"I think I know what can help. Are you willing to take a trip with me Legoshi?" Gosha asks.
"Okay… but where?" Legoshi asks confused, not knowing where this was going.
Gosha's response is grabbing Legoshi's right shoulder and using his Instant Movement ability teleported themselves several billion light years away to a galaxy that did not stand out from the other galaxies in its cluster.
Gosha teleported themselves to dozens to hundreds of different worlds, each with its own unique ecosystem that supports life in such bizarre, beautiful, and thought-provoking ways: from worlds covered entirely of water, blanketed by grasslands and forests, to worlds that are mostly made of gas and a metal core but still support life.
"I came to this galaxy a million years ago to do a check on the life that I helped create here, though I can not take all the credit of course. Kais help nurture and grow life, but we can not create something as precious as life from nothing." Gosha stated with a gentle smile.
Legoshi, like most sapient beings would be in this situation, was fascinated by the countless lifeforms that struggled to survive every moment of life and by the countless others that could live in relative peace and harmony.
"It's…. beautiful" Legoshi managed to mutter out.
"It is, isn't it?" Gosha said while patting Legoshi's right shoulder.
After a few minutes of absent mindedly staring at the life that bloomed below them, Gosha's smile slowly dropped as he knew what he had to show Legoshi next.
"As part of my job as Supreme Kai I use a time ring *raises right hand in front of Legoshi* to see what paths life would take with different species and worlds."
The ring on Gosha's right ring finger was silver in color with an infinity symbol on top of the ring face.
"If we were to travel about 5 million years into the future and revisit the planets from before…" Gosha says hesitantly as if he is forcing himself to go through with this.
Gosha takes off his left earing and hands it to Legoshi.
"Normally only Supreme Kais can use the time rings, but if you wear one of my earrings, then you will be allowed to travel with me. Now make sure to put it on your right ear or else we will fuse together."
Legoshi sweated a bit at the thought of fusing bodies with someone else before getting the courage to take the ring and put it on his left ear.
"Now press your fist against mine and call out the number 5 million."
Legoshi pressed his right fist to Gosha's left fist.
"5 million!" both Gosha and Legoshi said together.
Reality quickly began to disappear and was replaced by a large orb of fast moving, bright and colorful lights. A much smaller and transparent orb surrounded them as they leapt forward in time. A few moments later, the orbs dissipated and what greeted the pair was the smell of burning trees and flesh as the sounds of blaster fire and other forms of energy weapons could be heard in all directions. Below them Legoshi saw a horrifying sight of disfigured humanoids using what appeared to be biological technology to absolutely slaughter every sapient lifeform that was not them. Both the fighters and those that fled that were not shot and butchered on sight were beaten down and enslaved. This was the same story in every planet that they went to as the planets that were once full of vibrant life were reduced to empty husks and echoes of their former selves.
Gosha's face is solemn throughout this display of ruthless destruction while Legoshi wanted to look away but found that he could not.
"While this savagery is horrific, it is not the worst of what happens to this galaxy. We will now go 4 thousand year ahead of this."
Legoshi was now bearing witness to the savage race he saw before now the dominate force of the galaxy and they were now constantly fighting themselves and destroying the resources necessary for life across the galaxy until there was nothing left. And when the last habitable planet was dried up of resources and unscorched earth, the creatures made massive Bio-tech ships and left the galaxy. They had left nothing behind as Legoshi could no longer sense any Ki anywhere in the galaxy.
"I do not always find it morally right what the destroyers do, but a destroyer god most certainly could have prevented this….. emptiness." Gosha says as he takes in deep breaths to calm himself."
Gosha turns to face Legoshi and motions for him to do the same thing. He gently grabs Legoshi's left shoulder.
"Destruction in its purest form is neither good nor evil for it can be used for both and for none. Legoshi, do not think of Hakai as an outside force that you must shield yourself from or the evils of one's heart given power for that is not what it is at all. Think of Hakai as you would your own feelings. If you are not honest with them and see them for what they really are then you will ignore and repress them, but they are a part of you and will not die easily as they will struggle to breath free. If you keep bottling up those emotions, just as you have with your Hakai, then they will find a way to surface and explode out at times that can be the worst for irrational reasons."
Gosha smiles for a moment before patting Legoshi's shoulder.
"ultimately every part of you is still you Legoshi, so don't be so hard on yourself." He says with closed eyes and open mouth smile.
Legoshi could not help but give a small smile back as he looked at Gosha's face. Legoshi noticed a few seconds after smiling that Gosha had his left fist out. Legoshi pressed his right fist on Gosha's left.
"Say "return" at the same time as me."
Legoshi nodded.
"Return!"
Gosha and Legoshi returned to the present time. Before they teleported back to Gouhin, Legoshi gave back Gosha's earing which he promptly put back where a left ear would be.
"Well, that didn't take you to long. Couple of hours at most. Well, Legoshi… do you think Gosha helped you at all?"
Legoshi stares at Gosha as if he is trying to figure out the answer for himself.
"Hah you can be honest if I haven't helped!"
A minute later, Legoshi turned back to Gouhin.
"I think he helped a lot with putting destruction and life into perspective of a god for me and what destruction could mean to me. I think I can actually control it, but I just need to know how Hakai is supposed to feel like."
"Well for starters, Hakai is not really a feeling, though feelings can stem from it. Hakai is simply the will to destroy that flows through the body like a calm certainty. It is nothing more or less than that."
Legoshi rubs his chin and left cheek for a bit before quietly siting down in a meditative posture.
In his mind's eye, Legoshi is now standing inside of a white void. Six feet in front of Legoshi stands the familiar dark figure from before.
"Have you come for power or for something else?" it asks.
"I have come to acknowledge you for who and what you truly are."
Legoshi now no longer sees the being in front of him as a shadow that has stolen his form, but rather as a part of himself that he has neglected.
Legoshi approaches the figure until they are half an arm's length away.
"I'm….. I'm sorry for what I have done to you" Legoshi sad with remorse written on his face.
"You're… You're finally going to accepting me?" the figure answered in soft astonishment.
"Yes I am. Let us be who I was always meant to be… A whole Legoshi." He said with a smile.
The figure could not help but let out a stifled laugh at what Legoshi said.
"What? What did I say that was funny?" Legoshi asked in genuine confusion.
"It's nothing to worry about."
Nodding in agreement, Legoshi lifts his right hand up while his shade lifted his left in response.
"You were never my friend or foe." Legoshi states as he presses his hand up against his shades.
As soon as their hands touch, the shadow that constituted the figure quickly began to flake away, starting with the left hand, revealing the same grey fur that Legoshi has along with telltale aura of Hakai. The aura of Hakai ran up both their arms as the shade quickly began to match Legoshi in appearance.
"You were always just…"
The only shadow left remaining is the head and after a few seconds:
"Me" Legoshi says calmly into what is effectively an exact reflection of himself with Hakai surrounding him.
The form in front of him shattered like a mirror as there was not two separate expressions of Legoshi anymore. Legoshi now focused on the last step that was needed to have full control of Hakai.
Legoshi focused on filling himself with the will of destruction. He envisioned it like a desire without word or color, but an overwhelming force that is steered by calm hands.
Legoshi slowly got up from the ground as he left his mindscape. Once he was fully upright, Legoshi opened his eyes to Gouhin who was casually clapping. He could hear Gosha clapping a bit more excitedly behind him.
"I can tell the difference by just your posture and focus, let alone the calm of your Ki. You have finally achieved control of Hakai."
"Thank you Gouhin!" Legoshi said as he took a respectful bow.
"Catch!" Gouhin shouted as he tossed two stones at Legoshi.
Without flinching, Legoshi caught one stone with his right had and used Hakai to slap the other stone out of existence with his left. Legoshi threw the stone in his right hand back at Gouhin and using Hakai, fired a beam at the stone and redusing it into nothingness before it reached Gouhin's waiting hand.
"That was an excellent response Legoshi. It shows me you level of control of Hakai and now I have no more doubts. I am sure Gosha will agree with me on this."
Gosha smiles and nods in understanding.
Gouhin walks up to Legoshi and with a strong but friendly grip on his left shoulder:
"Legoshi! I hear by officially give you the title of "Legoshi: The God of Destruction of Universe 13!""
Over the next several centuries, Legoshi learns numerous techniques with Hakai as well as honing his control over it. But his most challenging lesson, that no Destroyer has yet to truly master, is still awaiting him: Ultra Instinct.
Author's note: I hope you all enjoyed the chapter! Let me know what you think of the story so far in the reviews and where I could improve. To top things off for this chapter, here is a small list of Hakai techniques Legoshi will have learned by the start of the next chapter.
Destroyer's thread: Legoshi manifests Hakai as invisible strands of Ki of exponentially increasing length and number that he can weave like a web or net. Legoshi can also use this technique as invisible homing darts that leave a trail of Hakai behind them.
Divine Oppression: Legoshi brings into existence a sphere of Hakai around his target and collapses it into a singularity.
Army of Oblivion: Legoshi creates dozens of clones of himself made of Hakai that have all his skills and abilities, but to a slightly weaker extent.
Impeccable Annihilation: Legoshi fires hundreds of orbs of Hakai that take position in random spots and begin continuously and rapidly firing bolts of destruction at whatever target(s) Legoshi desires that will home in on the target until the target or the bolt is destroyed.
